- How Young Is Too Young For A Skincare Routine
By Anushka Sharma By Anushka Sharma How Young Is Too Young For A Skincare Routine 24 June 2024 BEAUTY Advertisement Advertisement In today's beauty-conscious world, the question of when to start a skincare routine for young children often sparks debate among parents, dermatologists, and skincare enthusiasts alike. While some argue that introducing skincare early instills healthy habits, others caution against exposing young skin to unnecessary products too soon. So, how young is too young for a skincare routine? The consensus among dermatologists leans towards simplicity and necessity when it comes to skincare for children. Babies and toddlers generally have delicate skin that is more sensitive to external influences. Their skin barrier, responsible for protecting against irritants and infections, is still developing. For infants, less is often more. Gentle cleansers and moisturizers specifically formulated for baby skin are usually sufficient to maintain skin health. As children grow older, around the age of five or six, environmental exposures increase with outdoor play and school activities. This can lead to dirt and sweat buildup, making a gentle cleansing routine more relevant. Dermatologists typically recommend a basic regimen that includes a mild cleanser and moisturizer suitable for young skin. These products should be free from harsh chemicals, fragrances, and unnecessary additives that could potentially irritate sensitive skin. When puberty hits, usually between the ages of eight and thirteen for girls and slightly later for boys, hormonal changes trigger increased oil production and the potential for acne. This transitional phase often prompts parents to consider more targeted skincare routines involving products designed for acne-prone skin. However, dermatologists caution against aggressive treatments and instead advocate for gentle formulations that balance oil production without stripping the skin of essential moisture. The cultural and societal pressures around beauty and skincare can also influence parental decisions. In some communities, skincare rituals are deeply ingrained from a young age as a form of self-care and hygiene. However, experts advise against unnecessary complexity or introducing products with active ingredients like retinoids and exfoliants too early. These potent ingredients are generally more suitable for mature skin and can cause adverse effects on developing skin cells. Ultimately, the decision to start a skincare routine for a child rests with their parents or caregivers, guided by dermatological advice. It's essential to prioritize skin health over cosmetic concerns and to tailor products to individual skin needs rather than adopting a one-size-fits-all approach. Consulting with a pediatric dermatologist can provide personalized recommendations based on a child's unique skin type and any specific concerns. In conclusion, while there is no definitive age at which every child should start a skincare routine, a balanced approach emphasizing gentle care and age-appropriate products is crucial. Early education on basic skincare habits such as sun protection, gentle cleansing, and moisturizing sets a foundation for lifelong skin health. By fostering healthy skincare practices from a young age, parents can empower their children to take ownership of their skin health while respecting its natural development. Navigating the delicate balance between protection and prevention is key in addressing the question of when to start a skincare routine for children. By prioritizing simplicity, gentleness, and informed decision-making, parents can ensure that their child's skincare journey begins on a foundation of care and consideration for their developing skin. - A Quiet Affair With Bangkok At Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok
By Shriniwas Kodape By Shriniwas Kodape A Quiet Affair With Bangkok At Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok 14 August 2025 TRAVEL Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement The sky had just started melting into a bruised purple when I rolled into Sukhumvit. The kind of Bangkok evening that clings to your skin, rich with exhaust fumes, grilled chicken, and possibilities. The Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok didn’t tower so much as it stood with purpose—its glass façade reflecting a thousand fractured city lights. It didn’t need to scream; it whispered welcome in the way old cities do. Inside, the lobby pulsed with soft light and a hush that felt like velvet. No fuss, no spectacle—just the hum of polished floors, muted jazz, and smiles that reached the eyes. The check-in was less transaction, more choreography. I barely noticed the paperwork. I remember the cold towel, the floral scent of the welcome drink, and the quiet assurance that I’d landed somewhere that understood the balance between stillness and movement. Upstairs, the room opened like a scene change. Floor-to-ceiling windows stretched across Bangkok’s tangled sprawl, and I stood barefoot on the carpet, watching the BTS Skytrain snake through the city like a slow metal thought. The bed was impossibly inviting. The kind you fall into without meaning to. And the bathroom—marble, glass, silence—became a sanctuary all its own. I stayed under the rain shower until time loosened its grip on my shoulders. Morning came soft and forgiving. I wandered down to breakfast, where cuisines danced around each other without borders. I saw miso soup flirting with hash browns, samosas holding court beside bacon. A chef behind the egg station looked up and nodded before I spoke, like he’d already read the kind of morning I was having. The coffee was dark, generous, and unhurried. It asked nothing of me except presence. Later, I found myself floating in the rooftop pool, the city buzzing below, oblivious. Sunlight scattered across the water, and for a moment, everything stilled—the taxis, the horns, the deadlines. The world could wait. By sundown, I made my way to Brewski , the open-air bar perched high above the Bangkok beat. There’s something about sipping craft beer at eye level with the skyline that rewires your perception. The amber lights, the long wooden bar, the crisp laughter of travelers who had already surrendered to the city’s rhythm. I ordered a local IPA that carried notes of citrus, coriander, and Bangkok heat. It slipped down easy, like the night. Hunger led me down to Attico , a Tuscan hideaway draped in warm light and rustic woods. The wine breathed in its glass. The truffle risotto arrived steaming, fragrant, unapologetically rich. A playlist of Italian jazz hummed in the background. The room wasn’t crowded, but it was alive—families talking with their hands, lovers leaning in, chefs plating dishes with quiet intensity. And then there was Chao Phya, where Thai cuisine was treated with reverence, not spectacle. Each dish told its own story. The tom yum had depth, not just heat. The jasmine rice was perfectly steamed, catching the flavors like silk. There was no rush, no showmanship. Just flavor, history, and the kind of cooking that came from memory more than manuals. Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok didn’t try to impress. It simply was. A hotel that knew how to fade into the background so you could foreground your own experience. It gave space without distance, luxury without noise. It was the pause between exhale and inhale, the quiet beat between footsteps. On my last morning, I lingered by the window. The city was already wide awake, but I moved slower now. Something about this place had rewired the way I listened, the way I looked. I was packed with the strange heaviness of knowing something subtle had shifted. And as the elevator descended, I didn’t feel like I was leaving a hotel—I felt like I was stepping out of a story I’d quietly become part of. - Exploring The Path Of Aspiring Actors And Producers: Insights From Anil Singh Chandel
Exploring The Path Of Aspiring Actors And Producers: Insights From Anil Singh Chandel by Aparajita Jaiswal Exploring The Path Of Aspiring Actors And Producers: Insights From Anil Singh Chandel 6 September 2023 COVER STORIES Advertisement “ A good director creates an environment, which gives the actor the encouragement to fly. ” These are the words of Hollywood actor Kevin Bacon. This quote shows the heavy responsibility placed on a film director, and these are severe words for anyone to fulfill. As such, only a man of varied skills would be able to do multiple roles within one project, and to do so successfully requires an acute and precise understanding of the medium of film. Enter Anil Singh Chandel, an Indian actor, producer, and director best known for his debut film “Mid Day Meal”. Anil Singh was born on the 10 th of December 1991 in Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh, where he spent his childhood till he left for Raigarh for further studies; after his studies, Chandel initially started working at companies such as Reliance Telecom and Fullerton India. He eventually quit these companies to create his own Construction and Project management firm, Chandel India Pvt. Ltd. In 2022, Chandel released his debut film, Mid Day Meal, designed to address food insecurity. The movie follows a professional chef who decides to help poverty-stricken children and cook and deliver mid-day meals to them; the movie earned an estimated 100,000,000 Indian Rupees as per its IMDB page. The film was written, directed, produced, and acted in by Anil Singh Chandel, proving his ability to take on multiple responsibilities and unique challenges in each field. His latest accolade is receiving the Indian Achievers Awards, organized by the national news magazine Power Corridors. The award recognizes and highlights educational achievements, social activism, and entrepreneurship. “For aspiring young actors and producers, the world of acting and producing offers a unique platform to express creativity, tell important stories and connect with audience on a deep emotional level “ says Chandel. It's a chance to bring characters to life, inspire change, and leave a lasting impact. Whether you're drawn to the thrill of performing or the behind-the-scenes magic of creating, pursuing acting and producing can be a fulfilling journey of self-discovery and artistic growth. For aspiring actors, Anil suggests they consider freelancing options like auditioning for roles in films, TV shows, and commercials, as well as offering their acting services for voice-over work or corporate videos. Producers can freelance by taking on projects such as producing short films, commercials, music videos, or web series. Both actors and producers can also offer their expertise for scriptwriting, directing, casting, and production coordination on a freelance basis. Online platforms and networking events can help connect them with potential gigs. One of the most intriguing questions for artists looking to get into this field is how successful figures like Anil Singh Chandel found their inspiration to enter the entertainment industry. Anil shares that he has been a cinephile from a young age. Anil says “I always wanted to be an actor then from my favorite actors' journeys and successes for motivation and now I'm here.” SEARCH A Journey Shaped By Courage, Creativity, And Social Media With Aditi Sharma COVER STORIES Inner Joy Trails My Inspiration : A Candid Conversation With The Creative Anushka Kaushik COVER STORIES Barkha Singh’s candid candour makes the way to an eye-catching interview COVER STORIES Educate, Empower, Excel: Priyanka Chahar Choudhary's Inspirational Overture COVER STORIES Waluscha De Sousa On Being Her ‘True Self’ And Going On The Dream Journey COVER STORIES POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Anurag Sen Vivian Dsena: The Fluke Star Who Became Television’s Undying Heartthrob 25 September 2025 COVER STORIES By Ananya Patankar Unscripted, Unstoppable: The Many Lives Of Christine Gulasatree 22 August 2025 COVER STORIES By Ananya Patankar Off Script, On Truth: Anshumaan Pushkar In His Own Words 30 June 2025 COVER STORIES By Ananya Patankar From Mowgli To Maverick: Why Shaan R Grover Feels Like The Real Deal 13 June 2025 COVER STORIES RELATED POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement
- Farhan Khan: Where Poetry Meets Hip-Hop, And Stories Come Alive
Farhan Khan: Where Poetry Meets Hip-Hop, And Stories Come Alive By Sakshi Batra Farhan Khan: Where Poetry Meets Hip-Hop, And Stories Come Alive 10 February 2025 COVER STORIES Advertisement “Main Toh Hoon Shayar, Bata Deta Baatein, Par Kambakht Woh Kaise Sambhalega” This isn’t just a line from Farhan Khan - it’s a glimpse into his soul. A poet who wears his heart on his sleeve, a rapper who turns life’s chaos into a rhythm, and an artist who tells stories with every verse, Farhan Khan isn’t your typical creative. He’s a force of nature, a whirlwind of emotions, ideas, and untamed passion. So, who is Farhan Khan? He’s not just a rapper, poet, or actor. He’s a storyteller who turns heartbreak into poetry, struggles into inspiration, and every experience into a masterpiece. This is the story of the man who refuses to be boxed in who lives to bring something extraordinary to the table every single time. A Life Beyond Boundaries Farhan's father, a ghazal writer and tailor, played a big role in shaping his journey. He also looks up to the legendary Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan (Nusrat Sahab) for inspiration. While others tried to set limits for him, Farhan never believed in boundaries. For him, art is limitless, a space where he can explore anything, from love and spirituality to deep emotions, both good and bad. A Wall, A Dream, A Turning Point At the age of 16, Farhan made a declaration that changed everything. Scrawled on the wall of his room was a simple yet powerful promise: “I will come on TV & become an actor.” It wasn’t just graffiti; it was a vision. Farhan dove into the world of art and music, fuelled by his relentless desire to express himself. Though his family initially hesitated to support his unconventional dreams, they couldn’t ignore his passion. Farhan recalls his days working at his father’s tailoring shop, where he not only learned the value of hard work but also developed a business mindset that complements his artistic endeavours. The Birth Of “The Last Khan Sahab Show” Farhan’s debut album, “ The Last Khan Sahab Show” , is more than just music- it’s an entire world. Drawing inspiration from his father’s nickname, “Khan Sahab”, the album’s title pays homage to his roots and was appreciated by artists like Badshah and Raftaar . Farhan introduces the iconic Khan Sahab character as a one-time phenomenon, marking the end of its journey with a poignant farewell. Through the track “Rudali” , he performs the metaphorical last rites for the character, signalling the end of an era and paving the way for a fresh chapter with new stories and personas. The album then transitions to the song “Jannat”, where Farhan and a friend share a candid conversation about his love life, setting the stage for the unfolding tale of “Alif and Laila”. What truly sets this album apart is its immersive storytelling. Each song brings a character to life, every lyric unravels a narrative, and every beat pulls you deeper into Farhan’s creative universe. The Stories Behind The Songs Farhan’s albums don’t just feature tracks - they unfold like movies. One of his most intriguing storylines revolves around Alif & Laila, set against the backdrop of the 80s. Take the iconic Jawab de , a track that weaves a tale of heartbreak, longing, and redemption. Farhan’s alter-ego, Alif, questions his love, Laila, with raw, piercing words: “Woh Tujhe Chhoota Hai, Jaise Main Chhoota Tha Waise, Kya Uske Bhi Seene Pe Soti Ho, Zulfein Hatata Hai, Tere Chehre Se?” The album doesn’t just stop at heartbreak. It dives deeper into emotions, exploring betrayal, love, and self-reflection, followed by the most iconic “ Ajnabi.” “Ajnabi Sa Ye Ehsas Hai, Badnasibi Na Tu Sath Hai, Shah Ki Daulat Tu Hi Thi Sanam Ab, Bas Fakeeri Na Kuch Pas Hai” The narrative takes unexpected turns, from Alif’s heartfelt confessions to dramatic confrontations. In “Aankhon Ne Maara”, Laila realizes Alif’s love for her still burns strong, even as the world conspires against them. Farhan’s ability to create entire worlds within his music makes him stand apart in the industry. “For me, rap and poetry are ways to tell stories. They give me freedom and a unique perspective,” he explains. In Cigarette , Farhan masterfully uses the imagery of smoking as a metaphor for loneliness: “Ab toh bas hum dono hi hain, ek main aur ek meri cigarette.” This song, which took weeks to perfect, is Farhan’s personal favourite. It’s a hauntingly beautiful reminder of how art can turn pain into poetry. A Blend Of Old And New Farhan’s artistry is a kaleidoscope of influences. His father’s love for ghazals and the timeless magic of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan laid the foundation. Bollywood legends like Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan ignited his love for cinema, while the directory of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Imtiaz Ali inspired him the most in his storytelling. But Farhan isn’t here to follow trends. “Doing what everyone else does would make me lose my essence,” he says. “I want to bring something new to the table every time.” Passion For Fashion Farhan has personally designed the outfits for his albums, drawing on his experience working in his father’s shop. With this background in tailoring and a keen eye for fashion, he has a natural flair for creating unique ensembles and dreams of designing outfits that reflect his artistic vision. This philosophy extends to his love for fashion. Farhan dreams of collaborating with brands like Raymond, Siyaram and Manyavar , bringing back the charm of kurta-pyjamas with a modern twist. His vision? To revive traditions and merge them with contemporary art forms. The Man Behind The Music Offstage, Farhan is a simple man with a love for good food and heartfelt cinema. His favourite dish? Nalli Nihari is famously known as the warrior’s food. But nothing beats his mother’s tomato gosht, a dish he cherishes deeply. Growing up, Farhan often skipped school to catch Bollywood movies at the nearest cinema. His favourite films, like Devdas and Black Mirror, reflect his love for grand storytelling. What’s Next? Farhan’s journey is far from over. He’s gearing up to expand the Alif Laila saga “I want each album to surprise people, to bring something they’ve never experienced before,” he says with excitement. With every project, Farhan Khan continues to blur the lines between music, poetry, and storytelling. His work is a celebration of art in all its forms, a testament to his belief that creativity knows no boundaries. The Legacy Of Farhan Khan Farhan Khan is not just an artist, he’s a phenomenon. From his heartfelt lyrics to his groundbreaking narratives, he’s redefining what it means to be creative in today’s world. As he continues to surprise us with his artistry, one thing is clear - Farhan Khan is here to leave an indelible mark, not just on the industry but on everyone who experiences his work. Because when Farhan speaks, writes, or raps, the world listens. And as he says, “Dilbar Ko Dur Nhi Karte, Dil Tod Kar Choor Nahi Karte, Sab Kehte Par Main Manta Nai, Tum Humko Bhool Nahi Sakte, Aise Majboor Nahi Karte” Indeed, the world may find it hard to handle the brilliance of Farhan Khan. Anticipating the birth of a new era and more of his extraordinary creations.
