They used to write, play, produce and compose their own music originally and didn’t ever need to sequence them. Some people still have a collection of records and cassettes which they play whenever they feel like reliving past days or refreshing memories of their loved ones. There were many musicians and singers who tried to exhibit social issues through their songs, like freedom, protection for women and children, violence and also about the wars and riots taking place. So people remember songs that depicts such junctures and sundry others. For instance, “Fight The Power” by The Isley Brothers. It displayed a distrust in authority and had an undeniable intensity. People used to get hopes and strength to face the air by just giving ears to some beautifully written songs. Such thoughtful they were. Many artists used to emerge everyday at that time to outshine their music and make it to the top. They made groups and those turned out to become bands. It was a pretty fast moving field. They initially had to focus on everything including their visual concepts, entertaining live performances, videography and even fashion. Talking about fashion, the industry of fashion had been developing and undergoing too many changes. Artists also had to modify their clothing styles from bright stage outfits to the modern ones. Eventually music world started getting connected to the fashion world. Gradually, the music industries influenced electronic music and walking into the digital era adoption of electronic drums and drum machines also began. Disco, new wave, and synth pop started emerging and with time, computer technology also touched heights of development. It improved mixing, editing, playback music and sound effects for more systematic production of music. Meanwhile compact cassette recorders and turntables became basic items among the listeners and fans. The decade is also contemplated to be the growing point for visual art. When the new technologies started to fill out, music video industry also heightened. Tape recorders became the main source of recording procedure and recorded multiple tracks at the same time. Cassettes turned out to be the most popular format and releases were being issued in both cassettes and vinyls. The music of 70s is popular for all the age groups as it never gets old. It just gets renewed with each and every passing day. Today, many people are unaware of numerous genres like funk, soul, reggae, glam rock, hard rock, heavy metal and more. Many of the best rock recordings of all time are released during this decade. Hip hop also extended but not as rapidly as rock and disco did. While Bohemian Rhapsody can give chills even today, Stayin’ Alive can melt one’s heart. The Beatles anointed the first half of 1970 with it’s albums, and The Rolling Stones still makes people go rock and roll. When Pink Floyd was breaking records, Paul McCartney and Wings amazed people. It also came with some tragic losses of Jimi Hendrix, Billy Stewart, Elvis Presley and many other legends but their work stayed within everyone’s soul. 1970’s music displayed many movements and styles that were thoroughly unique to each other and were enjoyable in every manner. The conversation gets more exciting as Barkha discusses her YouTube Channel, her growth as an actor and a content creator, her experience shooting with Sushmita Sen and much more! Barkha Singh started her career in acting in 2015 in an MTV show. She claims that her Instagram and YouTube Content Creation were “by-products” of her acting experience. “Because of the MTV show, my Instagram handle suddenly started, skyrocketing. I was growing 20k-30k every day on Instagram. Before this, I didn’t even know content creation is a “scene” and people can do all this. I think very few people like Ashish in India had started it. Adding to this, Barkha gives us details about her inspiration to start her YouTube channel, “Because my followers started growing, the people managing me at that time, they made me realise like that since I travel so much and anyways shooting travel content, I can just upload it in one place on the YouTube channel and I was very much against starting a YouTube channel thinking I won’t be able do all of it (auditions, shooting, Instagram and YouTube and they were like, shut up and do it. As I started uploading more and more content, many tourists and boards of different countries started reaching out to me to create content on my YouTube channel. After that, I got great views you know so that’s when I decided this was the best way to make my love for travel sustainable.” When asked what she looks for in a new project before signing yes to it, Barkha reveals that other than the standard considerations regarding production and platform, the storyline and character offered to her plays an extremely important role. Barkha has had the opportunity to work alongside Sushmita Sen and claims and claims she had a wonderful experience. While contributing to wildlife and nature are some of her alternate interests, Barkha digs deeper by expressing the challenges one faces in the show industry. “I think, at least for me the most challenging part is showing restraint. A lot of people say it’s very important to select the right project. So, that is most challenging because as an actor you’re tempted to do every project that comes your way . Having the ability to pick and choose your projects is something that I feel is very challenging because every character requires a different dialect and a whole lot of work. I never bring up long hours, travel, staying away or not having weekends as challenges because all of that comes as part and parcel of being an actor. However, I think having to choose between projects and having gauze which one is good for you is most challenging thing according to me.” An eye catcher in this interview is the revelation of some of Barkha’s cherished and note-worthy accomplishments such as being a 12th board exam merit list holder and topping Maharashtra, raising awareness, and educating people for animal welfare, having the courage to make a shift into the web space and maintaining a healthy body lifestyle in terms of meditation, yoga and a fitness regime. Concluding the interview, Barkha also told us about some of her future goals and projects “One project that has already been announced by Jio Studios is The Great Wedding of Munnes which will release later this year. I am very excited about it. The entire look of the character I am playing is very interesting. You indulge completely to savor your food, while feeling good that your life appears to be just perfect. What could be better? Well, as a starter: the conditions in which your food is prepared. Food with attitude is okay, but food with hygiene is rather more important. Ever wondered whether or not the food, we tend to treat ourselves with at restaurants, is prepared maintain the standard conditions of cleanliness and hygiene? Ever thought of having a sneak peek into the kitchen of your favorite restaurant and say Hi to the chefs? Maybe you should, once in a while. Good food is definitely good vibes until you get sick because of the low standard of cleanliness and hygiene at restaurants and eateries. Catching food infections at a restaurant is the worst nightmares of their guests, more commonly evident in children. Customers would obviously wish to dine in a restaurant that serves hygienic food and focuses on cleanliness. The point of concern here now is how do we decide which of the restaurant serves hygienic food and which of them do not maintain the standard hygiene conditions. As a usual ideology, it is assumed that the high standard five start restaurants serve the most hygienic food and maintain high standard cleanliness. Provided the fact that the entire staff of such a restaurant is well qualified and considerably trained, justifies such an image of the restaurant in people’s minds. People usually prefer the high standard and obviously expensive restaurants over the shabby, précised or pinpoint restaurants with a moderate yet considerable ambience and quality services. This preferentiality is due to the assumption of the fact that the more you pay, the higher quality of services you avail and thus the food served must be hygienic enough. The actual fact might be that you end up paying for the ambience and services provided more than over the food served. Must give this a thought! Taking the quality of food served and hygiene maintained into consideration, there is always a chance that due to such high maintenance of the 5-star restaurants, they have an access to well-furnished technology as well. There are always freezers which help them store food for longer period of time. In fact, the food served in all the franchises of large and renowned brands, have a supply of their raw materials, always in a frozen form. Nobody would actually want to eat something that is in the refrigerator of the house for a day or two, but readily enjoy such meals in the restaurants. Street foods, highly enjoyed and populous among the young, is considered to be oily and unhygienic by many. Several videos and pictures of the unhygienic conditions in which street food is prepared are timely circulated over the social media. People here tend to be very aware and concerned about the hygiene maintained and threaten the owners of small stalls by recording their videos and posting over the social media negative review or feedback. However, the fact that a considerable proportion of the entire population within a metropolitan city relies upon the street food cannot be taken for granted. What else could make the best example, but the Vada Pav in Mumbai is a staple diet for everyone, be it employees, strugglers or anyone as such. Do people here talk about hygiene? Obviously not! Is your health adversely effected by Vada Pav? Obviously not! It is not all about the quality of services provided, the fact that these street foods are freshly prepared everyday and you can actually witness the food being prepared and immediately served is what makes it safe. The fact to thus understand is that the points to consider while choosing which restaurant to dine in, shouldn’t just the ambience or the quality of service provided but the quality of food, the raw materials used, the steps taken by the cooks and serving staff to maintain hygiene and of course the freshness of the food served. You cannot form a general opinion regarding the hygiene conditions of restaurants based upon the hierarchy of restaurants. The places like food stalls can serve hygienic food as well. The high standard restaurants and at times fail to do so as well and vice versa. You, as a consumer need to wisely choose among all these restaurants. Make sure that you dine to be healthy and fine.
