6 Disadvantages Of Being Pretty by Akash Khatri 6 Disadvantages Of Being Pretty 1 October 2020 LIFESTYLE Advertisement “You look amazing” or “You look so pretty lucky you” Heard these often? If you belong to this category who has heard these kinds of lines a lot in her life from relatives to friends to colleagues then you know it too well that being very pretty is not a great thing or being lucky. Why? Because in the journey of life, you need to face a lot of problems just for being that little extra beautiful than the rest in your current circle. In this write up, I tried to discuss a few common problems that every pretty girl has faced in her life just for being pretty. Hope this would be relatable. Take a look below.. Less Female Friends :-Isn’t that obvious? We all know that “jealousy” is an inherent trait among girls. Well! Not all but most of the girls tend to fall in trap of that green monster whenever it comes to the outer appearance. Why? It’s simple. Because nobody wants to look a little lesser than the other. So, if you are the prettiest among all, probably you would tend to have less female friends. Accept it. No Introduction with Friend’s Partner :– More often than not girls always feel that if there is a better looking girl around them, then their boyfriend would probably end up having an affair with them. Like, seriously? Grow up..!! If your partner really loves you then no matter what, he will be with you and this much trust should be there in a couple. So, unfortunately if you are the better looking one than your girlfriend and if she is kind of insecure about her partner as well as her looks, then you have a bad news girl. You would probably never be introduced to her partner. Opinions & Invitations :– People would either have high opinions about you or they would talk shits. It’s either-or situation. Get it straight. When you are pretty and probably a little more than the rest then, either people would think that you are a snob and avoid inviting you to their parties and would prefer talking less to you. There will always be few unkind people who would bitch about you to make sure that you are not invited. Reason? They do not want others to pay attention to you, miss pretty face. As a result may be you would end up feeling left alone or lonely at times. But that is okay because they do not deserve your attention if they judge you. People are afraid to approach :– People will presume that you would anyways reject them so they never approach you in the first place. Even if they do, they would be really conscious around you that in no way make the equation comfortable for you. Love life:– In a commitment, great..! But God forbids if he looks average in comparison to you then he would always feel insecure about you. Because he would always feel that there is a possibility of you leaving him for better looking options, which might not be true. But, as he knows you are irresistible to look at, he would live in that constant fear of losing you. Consequences of this would not be great either as it would only complicate things between you and your partner. So, make sure you assure and reassure him about your commitment and love towards him. Less Friends of opposite gender :-Need friends but find none? Have you ever noticed that people always want to be your boyfriend and not just good friends? If yes, then you must know why. Who does not want to date a beautiful girl? But it is not mandatory that you would want them as partner, too. The moment you would reject their proposal they would abandon your friendship too (well mostly if not all). And as a result you end up having fewer friends from the opposite gender. Sad, but this is the harsh truth. It is not an universal theory but it happens a lot to pretty girls. Surely they can relate to few of the above discussed points. An advice to all the pretty girls out there, just be you and humble, the way you are. If you look great that definitely is not your fault. Just make sure you are a great person too because at the end that matters the most. Even if you see less people around you, don’t be upset because if people cannot appreciate the good in you and be your friend then it is their problem not yours. Remember, the person who is not perfect in his or her own way would always feel insecure and doubtful about their own existence and in return, they would be angry with you probably because they know your worth and are afraid to accept that truth. Just live your life and along the way you will surely find like-minded people who would embrace you without any hesitations and feelings of insecurities. Till then, be you, be beautiful, not only by outer appearance but from within too. Not for them, but for yourself. By Sapna Panchal By Sapna Panchal Unveiling Delights Of Hotel Palazzo Versace Gem Of Dubai 7 February 2024 TRAVEL Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Oh, dearest one, Dubai is an ultimate spot if you're imagining a desert devoid of sand dunes and camels! "Money cannot buy happiness," they say. Come to Dubai, Habibi." And trust me, happiness here comes in the form of extravagance and style that will leave you starry-eyed. Imagine the iconic Burj Khalifa towering over the city, the sail-shaped Burj Al Arab, and the man-made Palm Jumeirah, an archipelago shaped like a palm tree. Dubia offers a multifarious spectrum of luxurious indulgences that will make your head spin. Helicopter tours, private desert safaris, underwater hotel rooms, it's like a menu of dreams. And let's not forget the Michelin-starred restaurants and designer boutiques in opulent malls. Is anyone keen on an exciting shopping spree? Let’s talk about hotels now, Dubia is the Hub of the world’s best hotels, if there's a place that screams opulence, it's the Palazzo Versace Dubai. Every nook and cranny here is sophistically draped in an exquisite fusion of neoclassical Italian and Arabian architecture. Versace, being the fashion icon it is, never disappoints. Walk into the lobby with its towering ceilings, glistening chandeliers, and manicured gardens – you'll be left with a lasting impression. And oh, did I mention it's a celebrity magnet? Hollywood, Bollywood, Arab stars – they've all graced this palace of glamour. Once you touch down at International Dubai Airport, it is located at a distance of less than 15 minutes from Jaddaf Waterfront. It's like a fashion-forward oasis right on the shores of the historic Dubai Creek. There's an element of Versace magic from the very moment that you venture inside, with the classic 'Pietra di Fiume' design depicting the famed Medusa greeting you. Oh, the Greek décor, likewise, it is like entering a magical realm from mythology. Versace's exclusive designs and textiles are scattered across the five-star paradise like confetti. It's as if Versace had an overgenerous celebration and invited all of us to enjoy the luxury. But there's definitely more! You're envisioning playing hide-and-seek in the verdant grounds around the hotel, accompanied by reflection ponds and lagoon pools. It's a full-fledged retreat for all of your wanderlust-loving travellers; it's not simply a place to stay. What's the most beautiful thing, then? The iconic Burj Khalifa and Downtown Dubai are only eight minutes away. Palazzo Versace Dubai can therefore satisfy your needs whether you're here for the glitziness or the landscape. Okay, give this a look! Every item of furniture and textile in the 215 hotel rooms, suites, and 169 residences at Palazzo Versace Dubai is a work of Versace art. Nothing is off-the-shelf; each item was made specifically particularly for this gorgeous haven. Let's talk about meals now. There are nine bars and eateries, and you know what? They're all perfect for an al fresco patio. It's a tribute to the history of the Palazzos when the inside court served as the trending gathering spot for eating, lounging, and enjoying the weather. Furthermore, there are the captivating features: three mosaic-tiled outdoor pools encircled by flowers and palms. It is like a tiny heaven all by itself. I won't even begin to discuss the viewpoints! This location is popular for weddings and social occasions because of the well-manicured grounds and unobstructed views of Dubai Creek and the cityscape. Palazzo Versace Dubai is the place to be, whether you're here for the pools, the Versace atmosphere, or just to get that picture-perfect view! Safety and Security: Tourists are known to find Dubai to be an extremely secure and safe city. For some people, summertime can be very hot and muggy. Choosing whether or not to visit Dubai ultimately comes down to your priorities and tastes. Dubai has something to offer everyone, whether you're looking for a special fusion of adventure, culture, and family fun with a dash of exclusivity. Book your tickets and Pack your bags! - Meet Ishmeet Kaur, The Winner of Mrs. India World 2024
Meet Ishmeet Kaur, The Winner of Mrs. India World 2024 By Sakshi Batra Meet Ishmeet Kaur, The Winner of Mrs. India World 2024 17 December 2024 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Journey of Ishmeet Kaur Ishmeet Kaur - Mrs. India World 2024, For me it was not only a journey of determination, passion and self-belief but also a heart full of gratitude. From a childhood rooted in love and support to challenging societal norms, my journey to becoming Mrs. India World goes beyond the crown. It’s a celebration of inner strength, resilience, and the belief that true beauty comes from within. “I’m not just taking away cherished memories with my sister queens, but also the title that has shaped my journey”. “These 7 days have been more than just an experience, they have been a journey of growth, friendship and empowerment, rather than a competition”. "The lessons learned, the bonds formed, and the unforgettable moments will forever remain with me, serving as a constant reminder of the strength and beauty we all hold within." Source of Inspiration When asked about my biggest source of support, “I credit my mother as my guiding light from being my constant support through thick and thin whenever I felt like giving up, she became my strength and reminded me to keep chasing my dreams until I achieve them”. With her unwavering support, I am who I am today. Her guidance helped me overcome every hurdle that came my way. The crown I wear is not merely a symbol of victory—it embodies my hard work, passion, and self-belief. I didn’t just chase my dreams, I lived them. On the other hand, I often see parents not supporting their child's career choices. To them, my advice is simple: “Never give up on your dreams”. Stay true to your passion and trust your journey. If you remain authentic to yourself and your aspirations, then sky’s the limit. "If you follow your heart with determination, success will undoubtedly find its way to you." The best part of my journey has been the unwavering support of not just my mother, but my entire family and my partner, who stood as my pillars of strength in achieving my dreams. Their only advice to me was simple yet profound: stay true to who you are, and always remain humble and grounded with your fellow contestants. “They mentioned that true beauty comes within and that should reflect through my actions”. The Changing Phase of Pageantry I believe that the world has been undergoing a shift, moving away from the traditional beliefs and stereotypical norms, the days are gone when beauty pageants were just about perfect figures and dazzling smiles but in today’s scenario women with different body shapes and sizes are respected and are being welcomed “Today, the pageants celebrate authenticity and individuality” and the focus has also expanded to inner beauty, confidence, intelligence & social awareness rather than just physical appearance. These days “pageants are embracing diversity in terms of ethnicities, backgrounds, age, sexuality and gender identity”. Pageants now place more emphasis on contestants' intelligence, social awareness and community involvement. Winners are often expected to be role models and advocates for social causes”. This shift reflects a broader, more inclusive vision of beauty. However, the path to success is never easy. “Indian women face many societal restrictions, making it hard to build a career, they must navigate countless obstacles and negotiate at every step to overcome the challenges in their path”. But by participating in Mrs. India World, I feel I have broken stereotypes and shown that no dream is impossible, regardless of marital status. Life Lessons Among the many rounds in the pageant, “My favourite was the personal interview round”. It was a truly special moment that I will cherish for a lifetime, as it gave me the opportunity to connect with each judge one-on-one. “Their humility and inspiring guidance left a lasting impression on me”. Power of confidence & Self-belief What sets me apart from others is not beauty with brains, it was my bolstering confidence, determination and self-belief that got me here and stood me out from everyone else. “I would suggest everyone to follow their heart and not give heat to negative perspectives”. I can't deny that there were moments when I wanted to take a break, do nothing, and just relax. But then I had a self-realisation “I was fortunate enough to be selected among so many talented and brilliant women”. It was a golden opportunity that I couldn’t afford to miss, especially with my dreams so close to being realised. This deep realisation pushed me to stay focused and true to my passion. “It reignited the fire in me to work hard and pursue my dreams with full dedication and honesty”. Favourite Cuisine Even the strict dieters have cravings and for me, it’s Chinese food. "If I had to choose a cheat meal, it would definitely be my favourite Chinese dishes - I just can’t resist them!" Celebrating Talent & Creativity I would be incredibly proud to judge the pageant, and if given the opportunity to create my own round, “I would choose a talent round where all participants could showcase their unique abilities”. Whether it’s singing, dancing, poetry, drama, or any other talent, this round would offer each contestant the chance to express their creativity and passion. “I believe it would provide them with an opportunity to truly shine in something they love, creating a beautiful, personal, and inspiring experience." Redefining Success Ishmeet’s journey is a powerful reminder that success is not just about achievements, but about breaking barriers and staying true to oneself. "Dreams take effort, and sometimes they need a push," but the beauty of the journey lies in overcoming challenges and letting your inner light shine. Her story teaches us that beauty is not just about appearances; it’s about strength, resilience, and the courage to dream big. Ishmeet is living proof that with determination and belief, no dream is ever too far out of reach. To build this confidence, it has taken a massive amount of time, but the journey has been worth it." With an impressive list of accomplishments, Riddhi Nahata's dedication and hard work are evident. One of her most cherished milestones is clearing her LLB with first-class honours without compromising her commitment to her influential online presence. 5 Oldest & Famous Film Festivals in the World by Akash Khatri 5 Oldest & Famous Film Festivals in the World 1 December 2020 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Can you imagine a world without movies? Well, I cannot! We all rejoice watching films and film festivals play a vital part by binding the global film culture. Film festivals started back in the 20th century and at present there are almost 3000 active film festivals around the globe. Well, let us dive in and check out of the 5 oldest and famous film festivals in the world: Venice International Film Festival: The very first film festival is the very first film festival that commenced back on August 6, 1932. Initially, it started as a part of the Venice Biennale., which was one of the oldest art exhibitions in Italy. The festival is held in late August or early September on the islands of Lido in the Venice Lagoon. The highest award of this festival is Golden Lion, which is given to the best film screened in this film festival. Moscow International Film Festival: This film festival dates to 1935 but unlike most of the oldest film festivals it is not as famous as other film festivals. One of the reasons being, it was not held every year till 1999. But this is currently growing and attracting better movies and better filmmakers from around the globe. Locarno International Film Festival: This film festival was launched back in 1946 in Switzerland, just after World War II ended. This is held every year to date. The top prize of the festival is the Golden Leopard which is given to the best film in the international category! Cannes Film Festival: The origin of this film festival goes back to the year 1938-39. It is called as “Festival de Cannes” and started in France. The main reason behind starting this film festival was that the French wanted to compete with the Venice Film Festival. Golden Palm is the most prestigious award given to the best-screened film in this film festival. This film festival is held annually but in recent years this film festival has been in news for a lot of controversies! Berlin International Film Festival: This is also known as Berinale, was found in West Germany in the year 1952 (during the Cold War period). Berlin Film Festival has the largest public attendance with a minimum of 3,00,000 tickets sold (approximately) each year. The Golden Bear is the highest prize awarded to the best film at this film festival. #filmlover #awards #Goldenawards #filmmakers #filmfestivals #film SEARCH Why does Fashion Need Fashion Shows FASHION From Dreams To Crowns: Anuradha Garg’s Inspiring Mrs. India Story FASHION Colour Psychology in Fashion: Explained FASHION Legendary Female Icons Who Made Fashion Statements In The 20th Century FASHION The House of Chanel: History FASHION POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Shriniwas Kodape The Snake That Wore Red: Inside The Vision Cultured™ Revolution 19 October 2025 FASHION By Sakshi Shah Francesca Bellettini Ushers In Gucci’s New Dawn 19 September 2025 FASHION By Shriniwas Kodape Dibba Studio: Weaving The Future Of Fashion At Thailand Fashion Week AW25-26 2 September 2025 FASHION By Shriniwas Kodape Aksstagga: Threads That Whisper Love, Memory, And Eternity 21 August 2025 FASHION RELATED POSTS Advertisement
- The Blooming Gallery: A Fever Dream Of Matcha And Moss
By Shriniwas Kodape The Blooming Gallery: A Fever Dream Of Matcha And Moss 15 August 2025 FOOD Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement She said nothing as she poured the tea. Just placed the glass pot on the table, steam curling upward like a question you weren’t ready to answer, and drifted away through a curtain of hanging wisteria. I didn’t know her name, but it didn’t matter. No one speaks loudly here. The Blooming Gallery isn’t that kind of place. Bangkok, outside, was melting into itself—tuk-tuks honking like arguments, humidity thick enough to chew. But inside this tucked-away glasshouse in Thonglor, time unraveled at its own pace. The air smelled faintly of earl grey, truffle, and damp moss. If you listened closely, you could hear Billie Holiday leaking softly from invisible speakers, and maybe your own breath for once. The entrance doesn’t demand attention. No grand arch, no flash. Just a wooden sign nearly hidden by vines and a single white flower pressed into the menu stand. You step inside and forget the city. Or maybe it forgets you. Tables are scattered like thoughts in a well-kept dream—some under an ivy canopy, others beside glass walls where the sun falls like honey. It’s less a café and more a secret someone decided not to keep. Everything—teacups, cutlery, plates—feels like it was chosen slowly, carefully, as if each belonged to a different memory. I didn’t order right away. Places like this, you don’t rush. You arrive. You adjust. You let your shoulders drop. Eventually, I asked for the matcha latte. When it came, it was almost too beautiful to drink—Kyoto matcha swirled with cream, topped with an edible bloom so perfect it looked fake. It wasn’t. Nothing here is. The food followed in that same quiet rhythm. Angel hair pasta with mentaiko and tiger prawns—delicate, oceanic, whispering of salt and warmth. A fettuccine drowned in truffle cream that made you close your eyes for a second longer than usual. But dessert was the moment everything tilted. A Path in the Forest, they called it. Matcha mousse layered with soft cheesecake and crumbs that tasted like childhood. It wasn’t sweet in the lazy way most desserts are. It was structured, balanced, and surprising—like something your grandmother would make if she had trained in Tokyo and lived in a greenhouse. There’s no table turnover here. No pressure to leave. The staff move like they’ve lived through quieter centuries. No one asks if you’re finished. You stay as long as the tea stays warm. Evening creeps in slowly through the glass ceiling. The shadows stretch. The flowers seem to shift in the changing light. Someone brings a cocktail to the next table—elderflower and gin, the glass rimmed with crushed lavender. The couple beside me stop talking and just hold hands. It doesn’t feel like a restaurant. It feels like an ending you didn’t know you needed. And maybe that’s the point. Outside, Bangkok is still boiling. Still relentless. But inside The Blooming Gallery, you remember how to breathe again. How to sit still. How to let something be beautiful without needing to explain why. You’ll leave, of course. You’ll sweat, and curse the traffic, and scroll through your phone like everyone else. But something soft will follow you, like perfume on an old shirt or a song you didn’t know you remembered. Something that bloomed quietly and refused to die. And you’ll know exactly where to go when you need it again. If you ask me, I would tell you that it is to go from an everyday girl next door to a real-life princess - on the same runway! And that is precisely what the 4th day of Dubai Fashion Week looked like. The day was a striking amalgamation of contemporary fashion infused with a touch of vintage charm. A day like such, filled with opulent showcases, makes Dubai a global landmark in world fashion. - Perlée Reimagined: Van Cleef & Arpels’ Sculptural Elegance In Motion
Perlée Reimagined: Van Cleef & Arpels’ Sculptural Elegance In Motion By Ananya Patankar Perlée Reimagined: Van Cleef & Arpels’ Sculptural Elegance In Motion 17 July 2025 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Art in Orbit Golden beads, secret watches, and a new artistic collaboration—the Maison’s Perlée collection returns with playful grandeur and signature savoir-faire Graceful and luminous, the new Perlée collection by Van Cleef & Arpels captures the Maison’s talent for turning simplicity into seduction, and gold into poetry. At the heart of these creations lies the golden bead—a Maison signature that transforms geometry into poetry, and ornament into art. Re-imagined with luminous stones, sculptural volumes, and secret surprises, the new collection is a celebration of lightness, movement, and refined whimsy. With every piece, Perlée reflects the spirit of Van Cleef & Arpels: a house where legacy meets invention, and where each jewel whispers a story shaped by beauty, heritage, and exceptional savoir-faire . The Perlée collection is Van Cleef & Arpels at its most elemental, where form and finesse converge in a single motif: the golden bead . Rooted in the ancient art of granulation, these gleaming orbs have traced the Maison’s history—from the bold contours of the 1948 Couscous bracelet to the delicate curves of the Alhambra motif introduced in 1968. But in Perlée, the bead is no longer just an accent, it is the star. Rounded, radiant, and impossibly harmonious, each bead reflects light with a joyful rhythm, lending the collection its signature sense of movement and clarity. They speak a universal design language: playful yet composed, architectural yet fluid. In a world often defined by excess, Perlée offers quiet glamour—a reminder that simplicity, when perfected, is the ultimate sophistication. Whether strung delicately across a ring or encircling the wrist in gold-dusted precision, the bead becomes more than material; it becomes emotion made visible. This season, Perlée unfolds in a crescendo of preciousness, offering creations that shimmer with individuality while maintaining the collection’s signature symmetry and charm. From sculpted rings to delicate earrings, the collection balances minimalist elegance with sumptuous craftsmanship. In the Perlée Signature line, rings and bracelets crafted in white, rose, or yellow gold exude an effortless purity and sculptural grace. Their surfaces are adorned with solely polished golden beads, making each curve feel architectural and serene. For those drawn to symbolism, the Perlée Clovers collection brings the Maison’s cherished motif of luck to life , with stylized four-leaf patterns traced in radiant beads and brilliant diamonds. Meanwhile, With Perlée Couleurs, vibrant hues take center stage, stones such as turquoise, malachite, and coral are set within gleaming gold, their natural and untreated clarity carefully preserved. That’s not all, then comes the opulent sparkle of Perlée Diamonds: five rows of rose or white gold beads interspersed with diamonds that catch and scatter light with every movement. These asymmetric compositions add a dynamic edge to the collection, allowing pieces to be layered or worn alone in quiet majesty. True to Van Cleef & Arpels’ standards, each gemstone is handpicked with a collector’s eye: diamonds from D to F in color, IF to VVS in clarity, and colored stones celebrated for their crystalline depth and natural brilliance. The result? Jewelry that glows, not just with light, but with legacy and pride. In the world of Van Cleef & Arpels, time is never simply measured—it is adorned, concealed, and re-imagined. With the new Perlée timepieces, the Maison continues its tradition of crafting jewels that tell time, fusing haute horlogerie with haute joaillerie in elegant harmony. At first glance, the Perlée watches appear like exquisite bracelets—slender, luminous, and perfectly balanced. But look closer, and you’ll discover dials crafted in guilloché white mother-of-pearl, gently encased within golden beaded frames. The delicate structure is held in place by a discreet central attachment, a subtle nod to Van Cleef’s aesthetic signatures. The true enchantment, however, lies in the secret watches, pieces that veil the passage of time behind layers of artistry. The Perlée Secret Pendant watch , for instance, hides its dial beneath a beaded disc set with rubies and diamonds, while the Toi & Moi Secret Watch balances twin dials like a duet, echoing themes of love and duality. Invisible mechanisms, such as a hidden push-button to set the time, elevate the technical mastery. And with interchangeable straps in leather or grosgrain, each timepiece can shift from day to night with seamless grace, proof that practicality and poetry can indeed coexist. What is special about this season’s Perlée collection is that it arrives with a visual storybook crafted by long-time collaborator Arthur Hoffner , a French designer whose sculptural imagination transforms the collection into an atmospheric dreams-cape. Since 2018, Hoffner has brought his signature playfulness and precision to Van Cleef & Arpels campaigns—but this year, his vision is more enchanting than ever. Set against a stylized snowy village, his backdrop of geometric forms, arches, spheres, and delicate slopes create a miniature world where jewelry appears to move with the light. It’s not merely a setting but a mood: poetic, architectural, and serene. Hoffner’s affinity for spheres resonates deeply with Perlée’s essence . “The sphere is almost too perfect to be of this Earth,” he muses, an idea echoed in every golden bead. His interpretation gives the collection a new narrative dimension, one that marries fantasy and form. Like the jewelry itself, his visuals whisper of quiet luxury artful, intentional, and impossible to forget. Behind every piece in the Perlée collection lies the Maison’s uncompromising commitment to exceptional craftsmanship, a philosophy that turns metal and mineral into living art. From the first sketch to the final polish, each creation is shaped by the hands of expert artisans, drawing on techniques passed down through generations. Iconic to Van Cleef & Arpels, the golden beads are sculpted with exceptional precision—generous in form, flawlessly smooth, and mirror-polished to catch and reflect light with breathtaking clarity. Whether arranged in fluid lines or clustered with precious stones, the beads create a tactile richness that’s instantly recognizable. When set with diamonds or vibrant stones, each piece undergoes openwork detailing, allowing light to pass through and illuminate the stones from within. This interplay of light magnifies their natural brilliance while maintaining the collection’s signature airiness. Even the mechanisms behind the timepieces are artfully concealed, ensuring that functionality never compromises beauty. Each element, every clasp, every stone, every bead bears the Maison’s signature of attention to detail. It’s not just jewelry, but a legacy of excellence, designed to be cherished across generations. To own a piece from the Perlée collection is to step into the storied world of Van Cleef & Arpels, a world shaped not by fleeting trends, but by enduring codes, timeless beauty, and a quiet sense of exclusivity. The golden bead, now a house signature, first graced the Maison’s creations in the late 1940s and has since become a symbol of its refined identity. From the Couscous wristwatch of 1949 to the beloved Alhambra motif that debuted in 1968, golden beads have traced the outlines of Van Cleef’s most iconic designs. Over the decades, they’ve appeared alongside whimsical animal clips, vivid gemstones, and sculptural silhouettes. Yet in Perlée, the motif reaches its full expression, elevated from decorative flourish to elemental form. And while the aesthetic remains open and joyful, the sense of rarity is unmistakable. Each piece is a testament to precision, restraint, and artistic qualities that define the Van Cleef & Arpels woman. In a world saturated with spectacle, Perlée offers a different kind of luxury: intimate, eternal, and exquisitely French. There are jewels that dazzle, and then there are jewels that stay with you, not just on the skin, but in memory, in feeling, in the quiet assertion of elegance they lend to every gesture. Perlée belongs to the latter. It doesn’t clamor for attention; it glows . With each golden bead, Van Cleef & Arpels invites you into a world where time slows, beauty speaks softly, and every detail is a promise kept. Whether it circles your wrist or rests gently at your collarbone, a Perlée creation doesn’t merely adorn, it transforms. It reminds you that luxury isn’t about more; it’s about meaning. And perhaps, that’s what makes Van Cleef & Arpels irresistible. - Why India is the most depressed country in the world?
SOCIETY by Anadi Gupta Why India is the most depressed country in the world? 1 September 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement India is the world’s most depressed country and we don’t talk about it as much as we talk about other diseases, but you’ll be shocked to know that 300 million people worldwide are suffering from depression. Depression and bad mental health have been ignored as a serious issue since ages. Mental health is as important as physical health but sadly nobody takes it as a serious illness and avoid talking about it. People in India still take it as a taboo. A study reported in WHO, conducted for the National Care Of Medical Health, states that at least 6.5 per cent of the Indian population suffers from some form of the serious mental disorder, in spite of the rural-urban differences. Though there are effective measures and treatments, there is an extreme shortage of doctors and mental health workers like psychologists and psychiatrists. As reported latest in 2014, it was as low as ”one in 100,000 people”. The average suicide rate in India is 10.9 for every one lakh people and the majority of people who commit suicide are below 44 years of age. According to these data, India is in a serious mental health crisis but the attitude which Indians show towards it is not helpful at all. It won’t make any change. A major part of population of India is highly judgmental towards those who have any kind of mental illness. They don’t like to talk to such people because they think it will affect their mental health too. According to the surveys the people who understand it come from good socio-economic environment and are highly educated. The young kids are coming forward to support many mental health campaigns because they understand and are facing stress a lot. India has less resources and more population but one of the main aspects in which we highly fail is the stereotypical thinking of the people who live here. People still are blinded by the fake traditions and rituals. But depression is a serious mental illness which should be taken seriously otherwise it can cause long lasting severe feelings of sadness, hopelessness and loneliness. There can be different symptoms for different people and it can also be differentiated according to gender. Many people mistook depression for sadness but it is more than just being sad and lonely. Symptoms of it can last from months to years. A person with depression cannot find pleasure or joy in anything. It gets very difficult for one to start a day and get off from the bed. There is just so much hopelessness in everything they do. Everything seems so tiring and difficult. If you see a person like this please tell him to get help if needed and get a proper treatment otherwise it may result in us losing another life. Spread awareness against it, try to make people aware everywhere that mental peace and stability is the most important thing. Many celebrities are now breaking stereotypes and coming forward to talk about it publicly so people can realize its effects. Many mental health foundations are doing great work for the cause. And we can now only hope for things to get better. SEARCH Why India is the most depressed country in the world?
