At Dubai Fashion Week, Day Five Unfolded — Krésha Bajaj In Focus

Day five at Dubai Fashion Week unfolded with a sense of assurance. The collections didn’t rely on spectacle or overt statements — instead, they leaned into clarity of design, strong construction, and clothes that revealed their impact through movement, detail, and intent. Across AI-assisted eveningwear, sculptural couture, and refined femininity, the focus remained on how garments were made and how they lived on the body.

NŪRA by Tryano set the tone with a debut that felt thoughtful and composed. As one of the region’s first AI-assisted eveningwear brands, the role of technology remained subtle, supporting design decisions rather than dominating them. The collection centred on jewel-toned gowns in emerald, sapphire, and deep amethyst, paired with fluid silhouettes that moved effortlessly on the runway. One standout look featured a sharply contoured bodice flowing into soft knife pleats that opened with every step, giving the dress both structure and grace. Hybrid silhouettes blended traditional references with modern cuts, making the collection feel rooted yet current.

Following this, Asjad by Shamma Majjan presented Motion of Majesty, a collection grounded in form and craftsmanship. Sculptural silhouettes defined the showcase, with controlled volume and architectural lines taking precedence over embellishment. A notable ivory gown featured pronounced shoulders balanced by delicate hand-embroidery along the torso, offering contrast without distraction. Rich fabrics and detailed finishes were used with restraint, allowing the construction to speak for itself. The collection reflected a modern expression of Middle Eastern luxury — confident, composed, and intentional.

Strength and precision took centre stage with Krésha Bajaj’s AW 26/27 collection Tempered. Known for her architectural approach, Bajaj explored the idea of resilience through structure and material. Leather, structured lace, and reinforced metal elements formed the foundation of the collection. A striking black leather cage dress stood out for its controlled framework and sharp lines, revealing strength through restraint rather than excess. Another key look paired architectural lace with sculpted tailoring, highlighting Bajaj’s mastery of construction. The colour palette remained muted — blacks, gunmetal, dark browns, aubergine, and wine — allowing texture, finish, and silhouette to drive the narrative.

Closing the day, L’SCARLETT brought a softer yet equally assured energy with Reverie. Inspired by the poppy flower, the Vietnam-born label explored femininity through sculpted silhouettes and refined craftsmanship. One standout ensemble featured layered fabric detailing across the bodice, creating depth while maintaining structure. Delicate textures and hand-crafted elements defined the collection, but the silhouettes ensured the garments retained strength beneath their softness. The debut felt composed and confident, marking a clear step in the brand’s international journey.

What tied the day together was not a single aesthetic, but a shared sense of purpose. Each designer approached fashion from a different place — technology, heritage, structure, emotion — yet all remained focused on design integrity. There was no need for exaggeration; the clothes carried their own weight.

Day five of Dubai Fashion Week reinforced the idea that impactful fashion doesn’t always announce itself loudly. Sometimes, it’s found in precision tailoring, thoughtful material choices, and garments that know exactly what they are meant to say.
