A paper cloud hangs from the ceiling. A rust-coloured suit stands beneath it. Across the room, portraits lean against olive-green walls, oversized bows bloom from collars, and familiar domestic spaces begin to feel delightfully unfamiliar.
Welcome to the world of Absent Findings.
For Spring Summer 2027, the Dubai-based fashion house invites us into a universe where fashion, art, memory and imagination exist in constant conversation. Titled What's the Colour of My Voice?, the collection unfolds like a beautifully illustrated dream, one where every garment, object and carefully considered detail contributes to a larger story waiting to be discovered.
Founded by Creative Director Shivin Singh, Absent Findings has built its identity around the idea that clothing can carry meaning far beyond appearance. Rooted in architecture, cultural heritage and personal memory, the brand has developed a visual language that feels thoughtful, emotional and unmistakably its own. With SS27, that language becomes even richer, opening the door to a world filled with colour, curiosity and quiet wonder.
What makes What's the Colour of My Voice? so captivating is that it never rushes to explain itself. Instead, it invites you to look closer. The paintings scattered throughout the rooms, the floating clouds, the sculptural objects and the carefully layered interiors all feel like pieces of a puzzle. Together, they create an atmosphere that is at once familiar and fantastical, drawing viewers into a universe where imagination feels entirely at home.
The collection's title lingers long after it is first read. What does a voice look like if it could take physical form? Would it appear in shades of rust, burgundy and ochre? Would it be found in inherited textiles carrying stories from another generation? Would it live among paintings, flowers, furniture and fragments of memory? Absent Findings never offers a definitive answer, and that openness is precisely what makes the collection so compelling.
Throughout SS27, colour takes on a new significance within the brand's evolving narrative. Rich tones of olive, muted blue, lilac, deep brown and burgundy move through the collection with confidence, bringing warmth and emotion to every frame. Rather than serving as decoration, these colours shape the mood of the collection, helping build a world that feels expressive, inviting and alive.
At the heart of this story is memory. One of the most distinctive elements within the Absent Findings universe is its use of heirloom saris, and SS27 continues that tradition with remarkable sensitivity. Integrated through delicate trims, piping and subtle embellishments, these inherited textiles bring layers of personal history into contemporary garments. They act as quiet reminders that fashion can preserve stories, carrying fragments of family, culture and identity into the present.
The visual identity of the collection is elevated through the work of Romanian art director and photographer Laura Puscasu, whose imagery transforms the lookbook into something closer to an immersive art experience. Every image feels meticulously composed yet emotionally resonant, encouraging viewers to linger and absorb the details. A painting resting against a wall, a flower placed unexpectedly on a table, or a figure framed within a carefully constructed interior all become part of the collection's larger emotional landscape.
This world extends seamlessly into the accompanying fashion film, co-directed by Laura Puscasu and filmmaker Yassin Yassin. Set within a surreal apartment populated by artworks, furniture and curious objects, the film unfolds like a dream that reveals new details with every viewing. Movement, gesture and atmosphere take centre stage, creating an experience that feels poetic, playful and deeply immersive.
The project is further enriched through collaborations with artists Sara Kamar, Ahmed Emad, Inés Boubakri Haddad and Farah Soltani, alongside furniture provided by Forma Object. Their contributions are woven naturally into the collection's universe, reinforcing the idea that fashion is most exciting when it exists in dialogue with other creative disciplines. Art, interiors, storytelling and design come together to create something that feels expansive and alive.
Perhaps that is what makes What's the Colour of My Voice? resonate so strongly. Beyond the garments, it offers a complete world shaped by imagination, craftsmanship and intention. Every detail feels considered. Every object has a presence. Every colour seems to carry an emotion.
With SS27, Absent Findings continues to blur the boundaries between fashion, art and storytelling, creating a collection that invites curiosity at every turn. Long after the final image has passed, it is the feeling of that world that remains. The floating clouds. The painted walls. The rich colours. The sense of possibility.
And in that beautifully strange universe, the colour of a voice becomes something you do not simply hear. It becomes something you feel.
