  • Irum Memon's Odyssey From Makeup Artist To Content Creator

by Akshra Khandelwal Irum Memon's Odyssey From Makeup Artist To Content Creator 26 August 2023 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement In a world saturated with makeup tutorials and skincare routines, a rising star has managed to captivate hearts and minds with her authentic content and unique perspective. Irum Memon, synonymous with beauty and self-expression, takes us on a mesmerising journey through her evolution as a content creator, makeup artist, and fashion enthusiast. With a story that began unconventionally and blossomed into a creative odyssey, Irum Memon shares her insights, dreams, and advice for aspiring beauty bloggers and creators. "I was never into makeup," Irum confesses with a chuckle. Her memory reflects the days when her mother would encourage her to apply a hint of powder, a ritual she didn't fully embrace. Little did she know that Destiny had a makeup palette waiting for her. The global pandemic brought about an unexpected shift, leading Irum into the beauty world. "Covid made me realise the importance of self-care and self-love," she explains. The enchantment of makeup and skincare products enhancing one's natural beauty and instilling self-confidence became her newfound fascination. Before her ascent as a content creator, Irum Memon wore the hats of a makeup artist and a fashion designer. "What's fashion without makeup?" she ponders. As an accomplished makeup educator, she imparted her wisdom to a league of exceptional students. Online classes became her medium, and the impact was astounding. "I remember my last class had over 100 students," she reminisces. Sharing glimpses of her classes on Instagram unexpectedly paved the way for her content creation journey. Brands she once admired from a distance began knocking on her digital door, transforming her world into a canvas of creativity. The content creation path, Irum asserts, has been nothing short of magical. "My little world of content creation means a lot to me," she says, the passion in her voice palpable. Energy and inspiration flow ceaselessly as she continues to evolve within this dynamic realm. With an influencer status that continues to rise, Irum Memon shares invaluable advice for budding beauty bloggers and creators. "Be yourself!" she exclaims, her words ringing with conviction. Authenticity and a distinctive perspective are the cornerstones of standing out. "Your passion will shine through your work," she assures. Engagement with followers, unwavering consistency, and a thirst for learning are the bedrock of success. But Irum emphasises the need to avoid imitation. "Do something different if you want people to follow you and engage with your content," she wisely advises, igniting the spark of innovation. "I'm not gonna lie, but I love doing makeup," Irum confesses, her enthusiasm contagious. Yet, she acknowledges that skincare holds the reins of her beauty regimen. "Skin comes first," she asserts, underscoring the significance of a healthy canvas for artistic expression. Makeup, to her, is a therapeutic indulgence—a realm where colours and brushes transform not only the face but also the spirit. When asked about her vision for the future, Irum Memon's voice brims with determination. "I want to be a more successful person," she declares. The roadmap she envisions stretches towards pursuing her passion, personally and professionally. Her dream of establishing her own brand gleams brightly. "It's gonna take a lot of effort," she acknowledges, her resolve unwavering. Happiness and self-pride are non-negotiable elements in this envisioned future. "I wanna make myself proud," she states, a testament to her unwavering commitment. Irum Memon's creative journey unfurled years ago as she casually dabbled in content creation. "It was just out of fun," she recalls, reflecting on her humble beginnings. Platforms like TikTok and Musically offered her outlets for creative expression. The unexpected surge of Covid-19 and subsequent lockdowns fueled her creative flame. As she began crafting videos, a wave of positive responses swept her into the world of content creation. With candid honesty, she shares that the path hasn't been without its share of challenges. "Finding my voice, refining my skills, and building a following took time," she admits. Her advice to fellow creators echoes with wisdom: "Everyone's journey is different." She underscores prioritising impact over follower counts, partnership deals, or monetary gains. "The key is staying true to yourself, creating, and enjoying the process," she asserts, encapsulating the essence of her creative expedition. In the enchanting tale of Irum Memon, beauty is not just skin-deep; it's a journey of self-discovery, passion, and unwavering authenticity. From a makeup artist's brushstrokes to a content creator's innovative reel, her evolution resonates as a testament to the transformative power of creativity. As she looks toward the horizon of possibility, one thing remains certain. This beauty virtuoso will continue to paint the world with her unique hues of inspiration, one captivating content at a time. • Eco-friendly clothing is the need of the hour

by Meenal Chand Eco-friendly clothing is the need of the hour 1 December 2020 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement With the adverse chaotic outburst of the nature we are witnessing and the trendy ‘local for vocal’, there’s no harm or I must say there’s more smartness in switching to sustainability. One thing that is much needed and should be updated is the fashion and clothing and if it’s in the good side without putting burden on the environment we live in what could be better than that? Advocating sustainable fashion, I must say clothing made from cotton ,jute etc would not only be eco friendly but it could give a big boost to the economy as well if one finds a way to make it more reasonable and classy. Infact, bigger brands have already started working on that and it’s more of a movement and process fostering change to fashion products and the fashion system towards greater ecological integrity and social justice. Sustainable fashion concerns more than just addressing fashion textiles or products. It comprises addressing the whole system of fashion. In pursuit of making considerable great amendments in the field and to seek divergence from same old fibres ,this could be a real helpful way! #ecofriendlyclothing #Fashion #sustainablefashion SEARCH The Rich Heritage of Indian Handloom FASHION Fashion In The 19th Century FASHION Colour Psychology in Fashion: Explained FASHION The Influence Of Kanye West On Fashion FASHION K-Pop Fashion And Its Impact On Global Wardrobe FASHION POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement By Anushka Sharma These Fashion Trends Are Literally Scary For Your Health 1 April 2024 FASHION By Anushka Sharma India Is Finally Having A Major Fashion Moment 23 March 2024 FASHION By Anushka Sharma Fashion Trends: What's Hot In 2024 22 March 2024 FASHION By Anushka Sharma Is Africa The Next World Leader In Fashion 20 March 2024 FASHION RELATED POSTS

Saran subsequently appeared in several more Telugu films alongside Hindi and Tamil films. In addition to her work in films, Saran has been the brand ambassador for brands across India, endorsing beauty and health products. She was also the brand ambassador for Celebrity Cricket League for its first two seasons. Shriya Saran is a versatile actress with a standing in multiple film industries, having done films in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, English, Malayalam and Kannada. We are all looking forward to her upcoming projects, Kazaa with Upendra and Sudeep, Music school with Sharman Joshi and a show with Dharma. In a Candid interview with Aparajita Jaiswal she relays how grateful she is to be a part of cinema and having lived in a country that is so beautifully united even though we have such diverse cultures and inhabit disparate worlds of thought. She talks about taking a flight from Delhi to Hyderabad and how that experience changed her life, opening her to a range of cultures and then eventually learning multiple languages including Tamil. “This journey has taught me everything that I am today and it has made me stronger. It has made me understand the power of cinema and how beautiful it is. I’m so grateful that I’m part of cinema. Also, I feel it’s beautiful how language changes the flavour of people. Every language has a different sense of humour and different ways of telling stories but one thing that unites cinema is that one ‘camera’ that we act for and that one ‘action and take’. It’s magic that happens and that’s what makes us alive. I am so grateful I’m part of the cinema.” Shriya Saran speaks about her experience working with Ajay Devgn, one of Bollywood’s gems and a legend. “With Ajay Devgan, I have worked in Drishyam 1, Drishyam 2 and RRR. Thankfully with Krishna’s blessings, they have all been very big hits. It was a pleasure working with someone as trained and as articulate as he is. He lights up the camera, he lights up the screen and he’s a very giving actor. He speaks with his eyes and expresses so beautifully with his eyes. He’s a wonderful actor. He gives a lot to the actor he works with too. It’s just amazing to work with him.” Today’s world and today’s cinema is perceivably about beauty and the visual arts. Shriya talks about going back to her pre-pregnancy shape, being a public figure. “It’s a visual medium and I’m an actor. Visually, everything has to be perfect when I’m on stage and when I’m in front of the camera. So, there is the stress of losing weight and today, we live in an Instagram world where everything has to be perfect. There are filters and what not. I feel like it’s about the pressure that you put on yourself today. Today, I’m very respectful of my body and I love what my body has done for me. I’m very grateful for it, I’m very grateful to Krishna for my body and for my health. I’m moving towards being healthy, doing a lot of yoga, dance and kathak. It’s more about competing with my own self and being a better version of myself than trying to look like somebody else.” Therapy for mental health issues amongst men and women in today's age and climate is a must and a rising issue. Shriya Saran comes forward to speak more about it. “I think that it is very interesting that mental health is being addressed, thanks to a lot of people. Somebody who really came forward and spoke a lot about it is Deepika Padukone and then Alia Bhatt’s own sister spoke about it. I was talking to Ishaan and his wife spoke a lot about it. So, a lot of people who talked about it were more honest about what they were feeling before it was supposed to be not cool to talk about it but now it’s more normalized and I’m very grateful to all the beautiful people who came out and spoke about mental health.” Shriya Saran also talks about women empowerment and how it should be about equality more than anything else. “I think women empowerment for me is all about getting equal rights for women and men and respect. Just giving us equal opportunities and actually stop asking questions like ‘How will you work now that you are with child?’ Or ‘How will you work now that you are married?’. Just creating a space which is very favourable and easy for women to work.” Women empowerment means strengthening women with all the rights of social, economic, and educational needs. It is to create an environment having no gender inequality for women. It is to empower them with equal rights in the family, society, community, and workplace. Everyone loves seeing Shriya and her relationship with Radha on her Instagram. She speaks very fondly of her as she says, “‘The mother’ has changed everything in me. Radha is everything to me. She’s my life, she’s my sunshine. I see her feet on the sand when she runs and when she touches water, her little fingers and she says these little little words: ‘Mama’, ‘Papa’. It’s just beautiful, every day’s a new day. I love her. She’s making me a better person. I love my work more now and I feel like today, I want to make her proud and everyday I’m at work, I’m on the set, I want to make her proud. I want her to watch my films one day and say ‘I love what you’ve done, Mama. • Sandeepa Dhar: On Being Versatile and Learning from Mistakes

by JoNa Sandeepa Dhar: On Being Versatile and Learning from Mistakes 11 December 2022 COVER STORIES Advertisement Advertisement Sandeepa Dhar from Kashmir made her debut into Bollywood with the movie Isi Life Mein in 2010, from then it has been an upward journey for her. She has starred in multiple hit movies and critically acclaimed web series such as Abhay and Mai: A Mother’s Rage. Dhar has been nominated for the Filmfare Best Debut Actress, Star Screen Award for Most Promising Newcomer – female and the Stardust Award for Superstar of Tomorrow – Female. She opens up to us about the challenges she faced in the industry, her learning experiences in the shooting spots, her co-stars and her philosophy when it comes to life and work. The Pandemic has taught her not to plan things far ahead, she’s more conscious of the changes in the Bollywood industry and is ready to take one step at a time. She’s not in a hurry to the top. It is the process that appeals to her. “ Personal growth as an actor and as an individual is the most important for me. I think that's where I see myself going, I see myself evolving, changing, getting better and better with time.” Sandeepa Dhar is working on a new project, meanwhile she spoke to us about working on the sets of Kaagaz with the legendary actors Salman Khan, Pankaj Tripathi and Director Satish Kaushik. She shares a special relationship with Salman Khan, as she had already worked with him; and Tripathi according to her, is ‘an amazing and smashing human being.’ She quoted an incident where Kaushik came to her with a song and told her that it was about women empowerment, and that he would never shoot an item song or show women in a poor light. ‘It was reassuring and refreshing to see him talk like that,’ she said. “It was a wonderful experience working on Kaagaz, I'm extremely lucky that I get to work with such an amazing set of creative minds who've been in the industry for a really long time, who are so experienced, and at the top of the game. Ihope I get to work with them over and over again. Fingers crossed.” When asked about her experience so far in Bollywood, Dhar said that it is like a rollercoaster ride, having it’s ups and downs. She is extremely grateful to have worked in diverse roles, with multiple stars and franchises like Netflix and Hotstar. She is also ready to fight for and hope for more bigger, stronger roles and recognition. Looking forward to many more exciting opportunities, Dhar remains optimistic. “ …I feel like I'm also very grateful, because I have got an opportunity to work with some amazing set of people from Salman to Sajid Nadiadwala to Tiger to Kriti and Rajshri. Even with the web, I have gotten the opportunity to work with some brilliantly talented people; platforms from Netflix to Hotstar, the best in the game. I think it's been an interesting journey and I'm only very excited to see where it goes henceforth. Because I don't know myself where it leads me to, I don’t know how much I'm going to grow and evolve. No matter what, I'm really, really looking forward to the opportunities that I get henceforth and to the choices that I make ahead.” Working with Atul Mongia for the web series Mai has been a dream come true for Sandeepa Dhar. The series was produced by Clean Slate Filmz owned by Anushka Sharma and Karnesh Sharma. It was a critical and commercial success, and it impacted her personally and professionally as well says Dhar. She goes on to talk about her views on personal development and how she focuses on being a better person and artist, never comparing herself to anyone but herself. She strongly believe in personal growth, and looks forward to being a better version of her self both on and off screen. ‘People who compare their lives to others’ are quite narrow minded, as everyone’s journey is different,’ she adds. “. I feel like anyway, with the kind of lifestyles that we all have, we all need to look inward and work on our own selves, that's the only way that we can keep a straight head in this crazy world. Because, social media and people can play with your head and I think at this point, the only thing that can save you is your own self and knowing who you are and working on it. I think for me that is what is the most important.” For a final question, we asked her about the obstacles she has faced and her journey so far. She replied that being an outsider had been her first obstacle; she knew no one in the industry and had to work hard to land roles, to reach the relevant people. Since she had no one to guide her during her earlier days, everything was of ‘trial and error,’ method for her. She had to learn from her mistakes, sometimes she erred three four times, before learning her lesson. She also spoke about the ‘perception’ that people have about actors, which stereotypes them and thereby denying them of certain roles. This fight against people’s perception of her is a constant battle she says. “In this industry, the stereotyping is immense to an extent it’s quite ridiculous in a way because isn't it stupid that as an actor, you're putting people in boxes, according to the way they look. But as an actor, I should mould myself physically and emotionally as per the character. That is my job, right? I'm supposed to play a different character irrespective of what I look like, but the industry forces you to only play roles, which kind of suffice to what you look like physically. So, if I am, for example, fair and modern and good looking then, according to them, I would only fit in roles wherein the character is rich and from an affluent family or speaks English. I am honestly quite fed up with people thinking like that. I think there is that obstacle that I'm constantly fighting hence, if you look at my filmography, I'm always playing roles wherein the character is quite the opposite of what I am in person.” We ended the interview with a positive vibe, with Sandeepa Dhar asking the audience and readers to look forward to her movies and series, not because she is in them but because they’re worth watching. We are indeed looking forward to your next project Sandeepa Dhar! Wishing you all luck and success! • The History Of Heels: Explained

by Aishwarya The History Of Heels: Explained 4 November 2022 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement For the last 3 centuries, high heels are extensively thought to be a women’s vogue. Seen everywhere from the runways to daily work attire, adding several elevations to a woman’s height is often thought of as the key to attachment associate ensemble along. All the same, as addicts of fashion at intervals and out of doors the trade take strides to interrupt the gender binary in attire, multiple men are noticed sporting high heels. By clutches footwear that has become such an associate picture illustration of female fashion, their selection is far dubbed “ground-breaking” or “gender-bending.” Curiously enough, the invention of high heels began specifically for men. The initial notable kind of heels dates back to the 10th- century in Persia. Male warriors riding horseback used heels to secure their feet within the stirrups and provide them additional leverage while fighting. The origin of high-heels is derived back to the fifteenth century in Persia when warriors wore them to secure their legs in stirrups. Persian settlers brought the shoe trend to Europe, where men and nobles wore them to look tall and fearful. Because the high heel came to indicate power and military artistry, it conjointly changed into a show of wealth, as solely those with wealth might afford horses. This symbolism reemerges in France during the 1600s during the reign of King Sun King. The Master of Versailles used footwear to differentiate each category and preference of the military. In 1670, he declared that solely members of the noble category might wear heels, and also he solely allowed his favourite courtiers to wear red( his colour of choice). The most international and perhaps the oldest shoe story considers a righteous woman whose shoes elevate her to a progressive rank- Cinderella. The story of the ‘slipper test’ is derived from the first century in Egypt. This tale and many more like them, advocate the picture of slippers as status and represent the importance, power and magic of shoes. By the end of the French Revolution, though, high heels were thought of as too feminine and customarily forgotten by men in Europe, yet, across the pool, because the yank West began to draw in new settlers, the wrangler, arguably associated and outlined by his attire, was thought of as the epitome of masculinity and masculine pride. Most wrangler kicks featured an associate inverted spherical heel referred to as a Cuban heel( representing the footwear of ancient Flamenco prom) and were a necessity for staying upright while moving long distances on horseback. Despite this, heels outside the wrangler setting were typically still thought to be women’s shoes. It had been not till the 1960s, once the rock group jaded the “ Beatle Boots ” — associated with early replication of Chelsea kicks — that the heel was reinvited into menswear. Rock- n- roll teams of the late-twentieth century like Aerosmith and Mötley Crue embraced such tamed designs in addition, whereas glam gem artists like Kiss and David Bowie selected for alternative ostentatious renditions. Unlike the low Cuban heels of'70s hair bands, Bowie and his stage persona Ziggy romanticism gravitated towards daring platforms, stilettos, or typically improved heels all of that were, at the time, substitutable with women's fashion. Whereas cultures like drag queen communities and theatre culture throughout this point had earlier standardized men carrying heels and alternative historically womanly clothes, Bowie's look brought gender subversive fashion to the thought. In the 2010s, the come of the Chelsea bang in convenience wardrobes was, erstwhile once more, met was respectable attention. Though, as designers still mix menswear and womenswear, the androgynous lines around apparel and accessories have lightened in their harshness. Heels improved and flashier than a straightforward black Chelsea kick square measure additional common for men than in previous decades. Brands have used them as a part of their menswear collections, and they have so established their approach to streetwear. Such as apparel, the step-down of heels as a "woman's shoe" continues to unfold as attire becomes lesser tied to one's personal identity and sex. As men hit red carpets and magazine covers in robes, there's no reason they ought to not have a pleasant few heels to accompany them. After a brief stint as a shop girl, Chanel worked for a few years as a café singer. She later, with financial assistance from Arthur Capel, opened a tiny millinery shop in Deauville, France, where she also sold simple sportswear, such as jersey sweaters. Within the span of mere five years, her use of jersey’s fabric to create a poor girl look had attracted the attention of influential wealthy women seeking relief from the prevalent corseted styles. Faithful to her belief that “luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury,” Chanel’s designs stressed simplicity and comfort and revolutionized the fashion industry, changing uncomfortable corsets to leisure suits. Chanel enlisted a lot of financial help from various companies and wealthy gentlemen. The magnificent empire of Chanel no. 5 was first supported financially with the help of Ernst Beaux and introduced to the world in 1921 for the very first time. Ernst Beaux was one of the most-talented perfume creators in France. It is said that from the various samples procured by Ernst Beaux, Chanel chose the fifth sample, giving the perfume its official name. It was a combination of jasmine and several other floral scents that was more complex and mysterious than the single-scented perfumes then on the market. Chanel was the first major fashion designer to introduce a perfume and that she replaced the typical perfume packaging with a simple and sleek bottle also added to the scent’s success. She partnered with businessmen Théophile Bader of the Galeries Lafayette department store and Pierre Wertheimer of the Bourjois cosmetics company, who both agreed to help her produce more of her fragrance and to market it in exchange for a share of the profits. After signing a contract wherein she received only 10 percent of the royalties, Chanel enacted a series of lawsuits in the ensuing decades to regain control of her signature fragrance. Although she was never able to renegotiate the terms of her contract to increase her royalties, Chanel nonetheless made a considerable profit from the perfume. By the late 1920s the Chanel industries were reportedly worth millions and employed more than 2,000 people, not only in her couture house but also in a perfume laboratory, a textile mill, and a jewelry workshop. At the same time, Chanel started to expand and go global launching a cosmetics line in 1924 and a range of skincare products in 1929. Chanel closed her couture house in 1939 with the outbreak of World War II. Her associations with a German diplomat during the Nazi occupation tainted her reputation, and she did not return to fashion until 1954. That year she introduced her highly copied suit design: a collarless, braid-trimmed cardigan jacket with a graceful skirt. She also introduced bell-bottomed pants and other innovations while always retaining a clean classic look. In the 50s, Chanel No5 really was the perfume to be smelt in. In a 1954 interview, Marilyn Monroe famously answered the question “What do you wear to bed?” with the line “Just a few drops of No5”. After her death in 1971, Chanel’s couture house was led by a series of different designers, stabilizing the situation in 1983 when Karl Lagerfeld became chief designer. The popularity of the perfume continued to grow but this wasn’t necessarily a good thing. In the 1970s it was decided that No5 had lost its air of exclusivity so it was reinvented and made less widely available. Huge advertising campaigns were adopted using big name directors and big name stars; a Chanel tradition that lives on to this day. Chanel’s shrewd understanding of women’s fashion needs, her enterprising ambition, and the romantic aspects of her life, her rise from rags to riches and her sensational love affairs, continued to inspire numerous biographical books, films, and plays, including the 1970 Broadway musical Coco starring Katharine Hepburn. Chanel Today Today Chanel is 87 years old and worth $100 Million. Chanel is owned by by Alain Wertheimer and Gérard Wertheimer, grandsons of Pierre Wertheimer, who was an early business partner of the couturière Coco Chanel. Chanel focuses exclusively on women’s high fashion and ready-to-wear clothes, luxury goods, and accessories. Chanel has a huge range of fancily-priced makeup with seasonal launches and limited edition collections that come thick and fast. In more recent years, something strange happens when Chanel launch a new shade. People get a bit giddy, waiting lists are formed and cheap copycats are produced. It is one of the top luxury brands, a classic understanding of from rags to riches and a desire of every woman across the globe. Overtime they have become exclusive, desired and rare which are the reasons why Chanel’s items are both popular and expensive. #Jasmine #Chanelno5 #Fashionindustry #Fashiondesigner #Corsets #Fashion #InèsdelaFressange #HouseofChanel #Broadwaymusical #Paris #Chanelscouturehouse #Perfume #WorldWarII #Chanel #Nazi #Littleblackdress #KatharineHepburn #Dress #France #KarlLagerfeld #French #Hautecouture #Petticoats #Jewelry #Scent #ErnstBeaux #CocoChanel SEARCH The Rich Heritage of Indian Handloom FASHION Fashion In The 19th Century FASHION Colour Psychology in Fashion: Explained FASHION The Influence Of Kanye West On Fashion FASHION K-Pop Fashion And Its Impact On Global Wardrobe FASHION POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement By Anushka Sharma These Fashion Trends Are Literally Scary For Your Health 1 April 2024 FASHION By Anushka Sharma India Is Finally Having A Major Fashion Moment 23 March 2024 FASHION By Anushka Sharma Fashion Trends: What's Hot In 2024 22 March 2024 FASHION By Anushka Sharma Is Africa The Next World Leader In Fashion 20 March 2024 FASHION RELATED POSTS

by Anushka Sharma In An Earnest Colloquy With Patricia Contreras 10 April 2023 COVER STORIES Advertisement Advertisement Patricia is most definitely an au naturel when it comes to acing the realm of fashion, art and beauty. Here’s us, encapsulating a bit of her life that she shares with us in much fondness. How are you? How’s life going? I am glad to share my path today with your community, it is an honor to be here to talk about my life. Everything is going very well, I have a lot of meetings, trips, and interesting people to meet. I am grateful with life for all the paths I am living, if I imagine all I am living today is exactly what I dreamt about when I was a child.” Well, it indeed is a rarity to be doing what you’ve always wished to do indeed! When asked about Beauty, fashion, art: If she could pick one and only one of these, what would it be and why? I am an artist, and expressing my creativity everyday is a must for me, I have always dreamed of having big collaboration with big brands like Vuitton, or with brands that align to my vision and moto in life, to reply to your question, I can’t choose one topic is just the way I can express and create something that drives my purpose everyday. We’ve been loving your fashion looks lately. Do you have any unpopular facts you’d want to share with us about the fashion weeks you attend? Style is the most important for me, not only in clothes but in everything I do, since I was a kid I always wanted to add my personal touch to everything I do. I have worked with many stylists and my style has grown through the years, I had experimented every single possible style with clothes, hair and makeup, I think I have tried it all and now I am focusing to develop a street - high fashion style, in my opinion is what is working now, we came to an era that everything is mixed now, we have to adapt everyday, I am open to collaborate with new brands, is part of my job. I love to experiment. If I can give advice, it is to not be afraid to experiment, or to not try to fit in the box, go far away from your comfort zone. If not in this industry, where else would you see yourself? I see myself in the United Nations or inside a laboratory experimenting new ways to improve health, DNA issues, I am a geek inside of me, I just love to learn and study. Well, this definitely brought a smile to our face! How rare is it to see such a bewitching combination! When asked about what inspires her art, she says, “My art is inspired by cinema icons, fashion legends, art movements during the time, everything that make an impact on society, art is the most powerful way to express the evolution of a society, art is power and is the ultimate luxury to manifest a position.” Patricia dons a lot of hats at once. We couldn’t help but ask where she sees herself ten years from now, to which she replied,”I do not make plans that long term, but certainly I would like to have the opportunity to create collaborations with fashion brands, make up brands, having my own talkshow, I will let life to surprise me, maybe life can change dramatically, who knows.” Which designer do you look up to in terms of haute couture? I admire and follow designers who know how to enhance the woman, who can magnify her beauty, I can list my favorite ones lately, Valdrin Sahiti, Georges Hobeika, Rick Owens, Dolce and Gabbana, Zuhair Murad, JeanPaul Gaultier, Carolina Herrera, Oscar de la Renta, I think all of them know how to catch the true essence of a woman, there are so many out there, but I just love these ones. Have you ever considered exploring the Indian fashion industry? I have always been very curious about the Indian market. I admire and share their millenary culture, I have many Indian friends and it is my dream to explore India one time on a long trip. I love their cinema too and the people, very warm and kind. About fashion I only know Manish Arora that I used to assist at his show in Paris. At what age did you start involving yourself into the world of art? I was born an artist, I think art is a path that either you born with it or not, you can’t learn this, you have to born with it, since I was 3 I was already painting, everything I was doing was creative, I knew since the beginning that I was not like the rest of my class, I always feel different, the only thing I was interested in was drawing, painting, or plastic classes, I even wonder why I didn’t just did that, I need time to find myself too, I guess. What is art to you? Art for me can be everything, is the way you see and follow your life, the biggest artists are people who truly lived their life through it, there is no in between, you have to let it kill you and express from it, it can sound very dramatic but it can be obsessive, when I used to have my atelier I was consumed by it, I didn’t want to leave, I could eat and sleep in front of my paintings, I had dreams about what I should create, was crazy, is like your loose the meaning of time, hours, days, nothing matters anymore but to take out what is inside of you. What does your art revolve around? My art sparkles joy, fashion, sensuality, love and femininity. It is a tribute to women and how we had evolved through history, through the men's vision, and how powerful we are today, because the world now revolves around women. Can we know a little about your new projects? “I would like to crate an apparel brand, that can extend on the years, as I mentioned above to have my talk show, many things can happen, I will update you accordingly.” Well, we’re not sure of being updated about her ongoing and upcoming projects, but this conversation has definitely refreshed our perspective in understanding how one can do it all indeed! • Priya Ahuja gets candid about her life behind the screen

by Aarti Singh Priya Ahuja gets candid about her life behind the screen 8 October 2022 COVER STORIES Advertisement Advertisement A crucial part of a legendary Indian sitcom that has been ruling our screens for years now; Priya Ahuja aka. Rita Reporter has first-handedly faced the uncertainties of the industry. “There is no guarantee or any mantra of getting successful.” She has been a witness to how the industry requires tedious and copious amounts of hard work. Hard work that more so than often goes hand-in-hand with good luck. Priya feels that social media is one factor that has indefinitely made a huge difference for people today. “Few things are like blessings, say social media for that matter. Instagram helps so much; you can showcase your talent in a lot of ways, you can make reels, portray different shades of yourself. You don’t need to rush and make portfolios and look for the casting director. Social media has made it very easy that you can approach a lot of casting people directly through Instagram and share your work directly.” Her love for her work can clearly be seen in her deep-seated understanding of the same. She feels that the most challenging aspect of her job is also the most beautiful aspect and that is “The Show Must Go On.” “Whatever happens in your personal life, you have to get up next day and shoot. Whatever circumstances you face; in your family or in your personal life, you have to give your best shot when you’re working. So, I feel that’s the most challenging yet the most beautiful part of being an actor” When not busy with any projects, Priya enjoys reading. “The book that I love the most and has made a lot of impact in my life is The Alchemist. Really really love that book.” When asked about the people that have the most influence on her, she revealed that there are a lot of inspiring people like Boman Irani, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Dilip Joshi. These actors who are so brilliant at their jobs, someone started late, someone got success a little late, they motivate Priya a lot. “It’s okay just keep working hard. One day- someday- you are going to get your due, if you’re good at your job.” And it isn’t a hidden fact that at times, it gets tough in showbiz. In times like these, Priya likes to believe that one day she will get it. “That faith in my hard work, in my talent, that one day, someday, I’m also going to be there. I am going to achieve that. And I know I am going to do that. So that keeps me going. It’s okay if yesterday wasn’t that great, it’s okay if today is just ok ok. But surely, tomorrow is going to be beautiful.” On a heartfelt note, Priya revealed that she doesn’t believe in failures. According to her, a failure isn’t a failure if you learn something from it. Yet still, one regret she’ll always have is her short span on the hit serials Balika Vadhu and Saubhagyavati Bhava . “I was part of Balika Vadhu, it was a beautiful character; and also, Saubhagyavati Bhava . Both the shows, really really hit. But unfortunately, my track got over too early. I shot for very less days in both the shows. So yeah that regret I think I’ll have somewhere.” She wishes she could play the two characters in the respective shows for a comparatively longer period. We were pleasantly surprised when Priya said that she doesn’t plan her life. “All I want is to stay an actor till my last breath. That is, you can say, my biggest aim or my biggest dream. I always, always, want to stay an actor. Of course I want to be more successful than what I am, I want to achieve way more, I want to perform a lot of different characters, want to do more and more challenging characters, roles in my life. That’s the only plan. I don’t know when and how things are going to shape up but I’m sure soon something amazing will happen in my life.” Moving onto the fitness aspect of her routine, Priya shared that she absolutely loves working out and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Everyone who follows her knows how big of an advocate she is of a healthy active lifestyle. “I would love to clarify this, that I am not into fitness because I want to stay slim. I am into fitness because I want to stay healthy. Getting up without any support, so that when I get up, my body shouldn’t hurt. When I grow old, I don’t want to walk with support, up until a certain age. Maybe after a certain age, I’ll have to, but until then I would like to stay extremely fit so I can take care of myself.” In conversation about women empowerment, Priya disclosed that Feminism and Women Empowerment isn’t limited to wearing what you feel like wearing, behaving in a certain way, acting chic; Feminism isn’t about being ahead of men. It is about feeling empowered from within. “It is about the choices that you make in life. You have the ability to make the right choices and decisions about your life. You feel secure in a society, you feel powerful, you feel like you are an equal decision- maker in your family as much as the man in your family is.” Talking about life away from work, Priya mentioned how most of her time is spent running behind her toddler. And when she is not running behind her toddler, she compensates that by running on the treadmill. Just kidding! When she’s not spending time with her son, she is usually working out. “Currently I started doing Zumba and I really really enjoy doing that. I am totally in love with it.” Wrapping up the interview, Priya mentioned some upcoming future projects that’ll be revealed in due time. “Please keep on showering your love and keep us in your prayers. Very soon you’ll see me in something amazing. As an actor, if you are my fan, all I can say is, promise that pretty soon I’m going to do something amazing and I won’t disappoint you. As an actor. As a human.” SEARCH Karishma Kotak Playing Her Innings In Fashion, Sports And Fitness COVER STORIES Musings With Maryam Zolghadr COVER STORIES Madhura Naik talks about the Life of an Actress COVER STORIES Kavya Thapar And Her Versatile Acting Career That Cuts Across Regional Lines COVER STORIES Ahsaas Channa Talks About Her Mother Being The Inspiration Behind Her Career COVER STORIES POPULAR POSTS Advertisement By Anushka Sharma Dialogues That Never Disappoint With Actor Saqib Ayub 4 April 2024 COVER STORIES by Anjali Educate, Empower, Excel: Priyanka Chahar Choudhary's Inspirational Overture 15 November 2023 COVER STORIES by Akshra Khandelwal Purab Kohli’s Cinematic Expedition Through Films, Travel And Self-Expression 22 September 2023 COVER STORIES by Aparajita Jaiswal Exploring The Path Of Aspiring Actors And Producers: Insights From Anil Singh Chandel 6 September 2023 COVER STORIES RELATED POSTS Advertisement
