  • Breaking Stereotypes About Women and Motorcycles

SOCIETY by Aparajita Jaiswal Breaking Stereotypes About Women and Motorcycles 1 June 2021 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Women shifting gears of their bikes, to shift gears of perspectives of people’s minds! “Life’s not fair; Get used to it”, a renowned quote by Bills Gates and the first rule from his “11 rules you will never learn in school”. Though Bill Gates had quoted these words for everybody in general, women would resonate with the words more effectively than men. Women have been surrounded by and are living in through the innumerable stereotypes since time immemorial. For everyone who is wondering, what a stereotype is, it is an image of how an individual is expected to act based upon factors such as race, nationality, sexual orientation and lot more. From the very beginning, girls come across rigid stereotypes which at times prove to be major barriers on their path of following their heart. The impact of these stereotypes can be bought to light, in two very simple yet thought provoking, statements which are oversimplified and overgeneralized by the society as a whole. “Pink is for girls and blue is for boys”, “Boys don’t cry”, are very common statements. Everyone might have come across one of these two general gender-based stereotypes. What makes everything worse is the fact that, somewhere, each and every person of the society has been, either intentionally or unintentionally been playing a role in building such rigidity. A measure of rigidity is bought to light by the fact that people actually consider that there’s no such thing called stereotyping and usually end up saying “This is how it is meant to be”. One such stereotype being that “motorcycling is not meant for women”. Motorcycling and biking has been always taken as a male oriented niche. Since time immemorable, motorcycling has always been associated with men to pursued as a career, hobby or passion. When talked about “bikers” or “motorcyclists”, the first image that is formed in one’s mind is a strong, masculine figure, wearing helmet and a safety kit and riding a heavy sports bike. Never does the image a woman in the same attire, upon a sports bike occur to people. Moreover, in case of bikers on the racing tracks, women are not even taken in consideration even in the imaginations. For those girls who stand strong and are courageous enough to follow their heart, family restrictions become a barrier. For those who even convince and receive family support, the entire society becomes a major obstacle in their path. Yet as a ray of hope in the midst of this stereotypical hanging rope, there are examples of women who tend to break the stereotypes and follow their passion fighting against all the odds that might cross their path. One such inspiring women is Roshni Misbah. During an interview, she gives us an insight into her journey and how she overcame the set stereotypes to follow her passion and become the only girl in India to own a Ninja H2. “Just because we aren’t allowed to do it, doesn’t mean we can’t do it” Roshni Misbah boldly quotes in favour of all the girls out there who wish to ride. Coming from a family of Islamic scholars and Hafiz’s, and then being a motorcycle enthusiast was odd. Her parents were initially hesitant but she somehow convinced them. The support of her family always which proved to be an ease in the rocky path. Talking about her journey, Roshni mentions that she always received odd looks from people on the road while she rode her bike on the way to college. She specifically mentions the fact that boys usually tried to overtake her, perform some stunts around her and make awkward comments. But nothing could stop her from riding, it was her passion and interest for riding is what kept her going. “As much as we say, we are living in a free world, the fact that there are still places where woman is NOT ALLOWED to do a lot if stuff” she believes. The issue of gender discrimination and stereotypes are very closely interrelated. However, she adds that “I think its all here! In the mind, for you to hold on to and follow your passion.” “You can follow your culture, ethics and yet follow your passion all at a time” she firmly stated. She also puts to light that the stereotypes are just in the mind. Though women today have all the resources and freedom, there is still something that makes their paths so very difficult or becomes a barrier. In most cases its all about the stereotypes and stereotypes are just in the mind. It is the people’s mindset that got to be changed first to bring about the freedom of women in its truest sense. • Anger and it’s ill effects

Anger and it’s ill effects LIFESTYLE Anger and it’s ill effects by Aparajita Jaiswal 1 June 2021 Advertisement Anger, Setting You and Your Health at War. An insight into the effects of poorly managed anger upon mental and physical health. Anger, warmth, rage, aggression, something every human is acquainted with. People usually have many tales to narrate, either about themselves or about situations that went worse in a fit of anger. Anger is one of the emotions among the ocean of emotions that every human being deals with every single day. The personality of a person depends upon how he responds to his emotions, the way in which anger is managed to play a major part role. Like everything else in the world, anger has both the positives and the negatives, YET THE ILL EFFECTS OF ANGER ARE MORE EVIDENTLY KNOWN AND SEEN. If you are someone prone to losing temper, here’s why you need to stay calm. Anger, to a limited extent, is good and proves to be beneficial. It helps people think rationally and is a source of motivation for some of the people out there. The general fact is, anger can be good for you if addressed quickly and expressed in a healthy way. In reality, more often than not, anger proves to be hazardous and the ill effects of anger weigh a lot more than its positive effects. Anger does not just affect you but adversely affects the people around you as well. The unhealthy episodes of anger, when held for considerably longer periods, usually ends up as an explosion in rage and can wreak havoc on your body. Anger is a powerful emotion and thus has destructive effects when not handled appropriately. The underlying cause of such havoc lies in the fact that anger triggers the body’s “fight or flight” hormone, i.e., adrenal glands flood the blood with stress hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol. The brain consequently shunts blood away from the gut and towards the muscles as preparation for physical exertion. Thus, the heart rate, blood pressure and respiration increase. Skin perspires and body temperature also increases. This creates an image of a person in a fit of rage. An angry person is so rightly animated in cartoons or comics as someone who is grinding teeth, tightening arms with closed fists and fire used symbolizes the rise of temperature within and around the individual. The constant flow of stress hormones and the metabolic changes associated with seven major health issues that arise out of uncontrolled anger that one needs to know: Frequent outbursts put your heart at great risk: In words of Chris Aiken, MD, an instructor in clinical psychiatry at the wake Forest University School of Medicine and director of the Mood Treatment Center in Winston Salem, “In the two hours after an angry outburst, the chance of having a heart attack doubles.” “Repressed anger – where you express it indirectly or go to great lengths to control it, is associated with heart disease” Dr Aiken adds. Increases the stroke risk: If you’re prone to outburst, beware. A study suggests that the risk of a stroke from a blood clot to the brain or bleeding within the brain during the two hours after an outburst. Furthermore, the arteries of the brain are prone to six times higher risk of such bleeding. Weakens the immune system: The state of mind undoubtedly has a behavioral impact. If you are mad all the time, there is an obvious chance that you feel sick always. A fit of anger causes a dip in levels of the antibodies. Anxiety: Anxiety and anger go hand in hand. In a study carried out in 2021, researchers found that anger can exacerbate symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder characterized by an excessive and uncontrolled worry affecting an individual’s daily life. Depression: Anger in its elevated state, becomes a cause of self-destruction and adversely affects your loved ones as well and such destruction obviously becomes a cause of depression. Numerous studies have linked depression with aggression and angry outbursts. Effects on the lungs: Even if you aren’t a smoker, you can still hurt your lungs if you’re perpetually angry and a hostile person. Anger can shorten your life span: Scary, isn’t it? The fact that happy people live longer is really true. With anger, comes stress and stress is in every way harmful. The key to save yourself from such huge havoc and safeguard your health is to learn to appropriately express anger. The key to begin is to try and start calming yourself down. In case you find a difficult to deal with negative emotions or expressing anger, therapy and counseling will always help. Assertive communication, effective problem solving, using humor, or restricting your thoughts to get away from that black-and-white, all-or-nothing thinking are good ways to get over anger. Getting yourself involved in the activities that interest you so much and make you happy proves to be an effective measure as well. • Ruben Amorim And Manchester United: When Expectation Collides With Reality

Ruben Amorim And Manchester United: When Expectation Collides With Reality LIFESTYLE Ruben Amorim And Manchester United: When Expectation Collides With Reality By Anurag Sen 9 January 2026 Advertisement The Premier League never really sleeps, but every so often it delivers a storyline that reminds you why it remains the most scrutinised league in the world. Ruben Amorim ’s exit from Manchester United is one such moment. It did not arrive with shock alone, but with a heavy sense of inevitability. A chapter that promised renewal ended instead in uncertainty, leaving questions that stretch far beyond one manager and one club. When Amorim arrived at Old Trafford, the optimism felt genuine. He was young, articulate and had built a reputation as a modern thinker in European football. United needed structure, identity and calm leadership after years of turbulence, and Amorim appeared to tick every box. His early months suggested progress, including performances that hinted at tactical clarity and renewed belief. For a brief period, it felt like United were finally moving with purpose rather than reaction. But purpose alone does not survive long without results. As the season wore on, inconsistency crept back in. Promising performances were followed by flat displays. Tactical ideas that looked sharp on paper struggled to translate consistently on the pitch. Injuries, squad imbalance and pressure from every direction began to weigh heavily. United were not collapsing, but they were not convincing either, and at a club of this magnitude, that middle ground is often the most dangerous place to be. One of the defining tensions of Amorim’s time at United was control. He wanted authority over football decisions, a clear line of responsibility that would allow him to implement his vision fully. United, shaped by years of layered decision making and internal restructuring, struggled to offer that clarity. What followed was friction, subtle at first, then increasingly visible. In modern football, alignment between manager and hierarchy is not optional. When that alignment fractures, time runs out quickly. As a Manchester City supporter, watching this unfold carries a different emotional lens. Rivalry sharpens perspective. The city has enjoyed stability, continuity and a long term project that has allowed setbacks without panic. United, by contrast, still feel caught between who they were and who they want to become. The shadow of past dominance continues to loom large, and every manager is measured not against the present league but against history itself. Amorim’s departure also reflects a wider truth about the Premier League. This is a league where patience is expensive and hesitation is punished. Clubs chase immediate momentum while claiming long term vision, often struggling to balance the two. United are not alone in this contradiction, but their scale amplifies every misstep. Sixth place, narrow gaps in the table and potential European qualification were not enough to offset the sense that the project was drifting. What happens next matters deeply. Interim leadership can steady nerves, but it rarely defines direction. The next appointment will signal what United believe they need most. Structure or inspiration. Control or connection. A system builder or a motivator. Each choice carries risk, and each reflects a different philosophy of rebuilding. For Amorim, this exit is not an erasure. He remains a coach with ideas, courage and a clear football identity. Sometimes timing and environment matter as much as talent. United may not have been the place where his methods could fully breathe. Another club, with fewer historical burdens and more aligned leadership, may yet benefit from what he brings. For the Premier League as a whole, this episode reinforces its relentless nature. Success is never static. Even the biggest institutions must adapt constantly or be overtaken. Rivalries thrive not only on trophies but on contrast. As City continue to evolve under continuity, United continue to search for it. That contrast fuels debate, passion and the drama that keeps this league compelling week after week. At Old Trafford, the noise will not fade. New names will surface, hope will return and expectation will rise once more. Whether the next chapter brings stability or simply another turn of the wheel remains to be seen. In football, belief resets quickly. Reality follows just as fast. For now, Amorim’s United story stands as a reminder that modern football is as much about alignment as ambition. Without both, even the brightest ideas struggle to survive. • SITTING = DANGER!

SITTING = DANGER! LIFESTYLE SITTING = DANGER! by Akash Khatri 1 October 2020 Advertisement We belong to the “Tech Age” where the magic happens at the tap of a finger. It has made our lives easier but it has led us to a sedentary lifestyle, everything good comes with a hidden bad. You’ll be sitting in a beautiful bubble of procrastination while others will rejoice the finishing prize of the race. “Sitting is the new smoking.” It’s an addiction which develops slowly and silently. While sitting down all day may seem harmless, you may be surprised by the negative impact it has on your health. Especially in the recent decades, the population has become increasingly sedentary, with many adults spending 70% or more of their waking hours sitting. Research suggests that only 21 per cent of adults are meeting the physical activity guidelines, while less than 5 per cent perform 30 minutes of physical activity per day. The American Academy of Pediatrics counsels parents to limit children’s screen time—television, DVDs, and video games—to no more than 2 hours per day. You never realize the presence of the “Sitting disease” unless you have foes disguised as family knocking on your front door. There is Mother Obesity, Father Cholesterol, Brother Stroke and Sister Diabetes; who will eventually tuck you to bed, in a cosy casket for eternity even before you realize. Research published in 2010 proves that there are several adverse effects such as: Low energy expenditure Slower metabolism Cardiovascular diseases Compromised posture Back and spine injuries Reduced social skills Loneliness or depression Metabolic Syndrome Chronic Pain ………. to name a few. Another study analyzed data collected over 15 years and found that sedentary lifestyles were associated with an increased risk of early death regardless of physical activity levels and mental health disorders. Stare at a donkey long enough and it also looks beautiful. Time flies fast but goes by faster while binge-watching three seasons straight of “Friends”, driving across the city, finger-licking the last pack of fiery Cheetos, typing the never-ending presentation your boss asked you, writing those thousand-page assignments, finishing the last bottle of Pinot Noir in the cellar, scrolling through posts of people turned bakers and artists or by simply staring at the whitewashed walls. It doesn’t matter if you sit but whether you get up or not. Fixing this might seem like gargantuan efforts at first but it’s all worth it at the end considering the welfare it gets along. Start with something simple initially. Walk to the grocery store instead of ordering it online, who knows you might meet a school mate along the way. Take the stairs instead of waiting for the stuck lift. Get on those running shoes and watch the beautiful sunrise, I promise it will be worth it. Start gardening – who wouldn’t want to wake up to a beautiful inflorescence. The American Heart Association considers general gardening to be in the category of moderate-intensity physical activity. Get up and walk around during television commercials. Invest in a standing desk at the workplace. Every drop makes an ocean. So go clean your messy rooms, organize your wardrobe, sweep those floors, put the clothes out to dry, hear the cuckoo sing, catch up on your Mom’s gossip, experiment in the kitchen and watch your family turn into food critics, make life long memories with your siblings, call those long-forgotten friends, read something new, learn the unknown, reorganize, experiment, invent – EXPLORE THE NEW “YOU”. #diabetes #stroke #obesity #workplace #walk #cholesterol #fixing #smoking #Sittingdisease #alarm SEARCH Ankita Malik: Empowering Change And Embracing Authenticity LIFESTYLE Juggling Two Worlds: The Inspiring Journey Of Kritika Goel LIFESTYLE Juggling Law And Fashion: The Inspirational Journey Of Riddhi Nahata, A Multifaceted Influencer LIFESTYLE Nikita Pawar: From Fashion Design To Digital Stardom LIFESTYLE Join Shruti Yogi On Her Enchanting Journey From Kumkum Bhagya To Wanderlust Saga LIFESTYLE POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Teyana Sharma Formula 1 for the Streets: Audi’s 1,001 PS Nuvolari Supercar Ascends 4 June 2026 LIFESTYLE By Teyana Sharma Threads of Tradition: Inside the Exclusive 911 Turbo S Sadu Edition 4 June 2026 LIFESTYLE By Teyana Sharma Gallet Returns: Breitling Relaunches the Historic Swiss Watchmaker for a New Era of Wanderlust 3 June 2026 LIFESTYLE By Sakshi Shah Luxury, Beauty & Everything In Between — The Ultimate Mother’s Day Edit 10 May 2026 LIFESTYLE RELATED POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement

  • Unveiling the Myth: Does Pretty Privilege Truly Exist

Unveiling the Myth: Does Pretty Privilege Truly Exist LIFESTYLE Unveiling the Myth: Does Pretty Privilege Truly Exist By Anushka Sharma 17 April 2024 Advertisement In a world where Instagram filters reign supreme and beauty standards constantly evolve, the concept of pretty privilege has sparked countless debates. But what exactly is pretty privilege, and does it really exist? Let's embark on a journey through the realms of attractiveness and societal advantages to uncover the truth behind this captivating notion. First things first, what is pretty privilege? Simply put, it's the idea that attractive individuals enjoy certain benefits solely based on their appearance. From getting better job opportunities to receiving special treatment in social settings, the notion suggests that being conventionally attractive comes with its set of perks. But hold on a second! Before we jump to conclusions, let's break it down. Is pretty privilege a real phenomenon or just a figment of our imagination? Well, the answer isn't as black and white as we might think. Sure, being attractive might catch the eye of others and open some doors, but does it guarantee success and happiness? Not quite. While a beautiful face might grab attention, it's what lies beneath the surface that truly matters. Personality, skills, and character play a far more significant role in determining one's journey through life. Let's take a closer look at some common scenarios often associated with pretty privilege. Ever heard of the phrase, "Beauty opens doors"? Well, it might hold some truth. Studies have shown that attractive individuals are more likely to land job interviews and receive favorable treatment in certain situations. But does that mean they have it easy all the time? Certainly not. Consider this: A stunning applicant might catch the recruiter's eye, but it's their qualifications and skills that seal the deal. Pretty privilege might get your foot in the door, but it's your capabilities that keep it open. After all, no amount of beauty can compensate for incompetence. In social settings, attractive people might attract more attention and receive compliments more frequently. But does that translate to genuine connections and meaningful relationships? Not necessarily. True friendships and romantic connections are built on mutual respect, shared interests, and emotional compatibility, not just physical appearance. Moreover, beauty standards vary widely across cultures and individuals. What one society deems attractive might be completely different from another's perception. So, who decides what's pretty and what's not? It's all subjective. Now, let's address the elephant in the room: discrimination based on appearance. Yes, unfortunately, it does exist. Studies have shown that less attractive individuals might face prejudice in certain situations, such as hiring processes or social interactions. But does that mean pretty privilege is the flip side of the same coin? Not quite. Rather than focusing on the privileges or disadvantages associated with appearance, perhaps it's time we shift our perspective. Instead of fixating on beauty standards and societal expectations, let's celebrate diversity and individuality. After all, true beauty lies in embracing our uniqueness and loving ourselves for who we are, not how we look. So, does pretty privilege exist? Well, it's complicated. While attractiveness might open some doors, it's what we do once we're inside that truly matters. Let's strive to create a world where everyone is judged based on their character, skills, and contributions rather than their appearance. After all, that's where true privilege lies – in being valued for who we are, not how we look. • Porsche Unveils The Next Generation 911 Cup: Precision, Power, And Purpose For 2026

Porsche Unveils The Next Generation 911 Cup: Precision, Power, And Purpose For 2026 LIFESTYLE Porsche Unveils The Next Generation 911 Cup: Precision, Power, And Purpose For 2026 By Anurag Sen 24 August 2025 Advertisement There’s an unmistakable presence when a Porsche 911 lines up on the grid: the low, assertive stance, the unmistakable cry of its naturally aspirated flat-six, and the way it demands commitment from anyone behind the wheel. For 2026, Porsche has sharpened that character even further, revealing the 992.2-based evolution of the world’s most celebrated one-make racer, a car designed not to change its DNA, but to elevate it. The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car has long been the heartbeat of the Porsche Carrera Cup championships and the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup , building a legacy on reliability, drivability, and precision engineering. This new iteration builds on that winning formula with targeted refinements that aim to make it faster, more consistent, and more rewarding over the course of a season. At its heart remains the 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six, a masterpiece of mechanical honesty now tuned to deliver sharper throttle response and broader power delivery. The output remains at a formidable 510 PS, but Porsche’s engineers have focused on fine-tuning drivability, ensuring racers can extract peak performance lap after lap without sacrificing mechanical sympathy. The six-speed sequential gearbox, operated via steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, returns with updates for quicker, cleaner shifts, marrying durability with precision. Aerodynamics take a leap forward for 2026. Discrete turning vanes hidden behind the wheel arches guide airflow with greater precision, working in tandem with a reshaped underbody that enhances stability when the brakes bite hard. At the rear, a new swan-neck mounted rear wing offers broader adjustability, giving teams the ability to tailor downforce to track conditions without disrupting the car’s finely balanced handling. The net result is a car that feels planted in high-speed corners yet alive in the driver’s hands. Suspension geometry has been subtly reworked to improve mechanical grip, particularly in slow- to medium-speed corners where tenths are often found. Revised damper tuning and reinforced components promise improved feedback without compromising the Cup car’s well-earned reputation for resilience in the heat of competition. New generation Michelin racing slicks developed in parallel with the chassis updates promise better warm-up characteristics and longer peak performance windows. Inside, the 2026 Cup car blends purpose with comfort in the way only Porsche Motorsport can manage. The FIA-compliant safety cage remains a central element, but the seating position has been fine-tuned for better ergonomics and sightlines. A new multi-function display provides clearer telemetry and data readouts, ensuring drivers have instant access to crucial performance information mid-lap. The 992.2 GT3 Cup will make its competitive debut in the 2026 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup before filtering into the Carrera Cup series across the globe. This rollout strategy mirrors the car’s development process, rigorous, global, and laser-focused on ensuring the car is as adaptable to street circuits as it is to fast, flowing tracks. In a motorsport landscape that is constantly evolving, the new 911 Cup remains a purist’s delight: unapologetically mechanical, beautifully engineered, and built to reward commitment. It’s a car that doesn’t just race it continues to teach the art of precision driving, one corner at a time. • This Editorial Began Beyond The Studio Walls

This Editorial Began Beyond The Studio Walls By Sakshi Shah This Editorial Began Beyond The Studio Walls 10 March 2026 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Most fashion stories today begin the same way. A saved folder. A mood board. References collected from places we’ve already seen. This shoot started somewhere else. Instead of building an idea inside a studio, the starting point was simply stepping outside into Mumbai. Water, rocks, trees and open sky were already there, doing what no backdrop really can. The thought was simple: take a garment that usually lives in a controlled setting and see how it feels in a place that moves on its own. The corset was the natural choice for this experiment. Its structured lines usually live in precise, polished spaces, but here it could interact with the unpredictability of nature. The styling concept came together with Aayushi Mishra, while Jay Dighe shaped the shoot visually, letting both photography and ideation respond to the surroundings. The editorial approach guided the way the frames developed, ensuring that the garment’s structure and movement were highlighted without overcomplication. Nothing was forced — the landscape simply existed, and the garment responded to it. The first look stayed intentionally simple. A white shirt layered under the corset, paired with a white skirt, created a crisp silhouette. On uneven ground and among tall grass, the corset’s shape became sharper, the waist more defined, yet the look felt relaxed and approachable. The openness of the setting gave the outfit room to breathe, showing how structure can coexist naturally with texture and movement. This approach emphasized the garment within a real, living environment, rather than a studio construct. Next came a green dress, softer in movement and blending effortlessly with the trees around it. In this setting, the corset acted more as a grounding element than a focal point, giving shape to the dress while allowing the fabric to flow naturally. The result felt balanced rather than heavily styled. A Brazilian model brought fresh energy to the frames, her excitement for the shoot blending seamlessly with the open, natural surroundings. Each frame captured a sense of ease that highlighted both garment and movement. By the lake, the mood shifted again. Sunlight reflected across the water while boots met the shoreline, and fabric caught the breeze with every step. Reflections subtly reshaped the silhouette, creating small, organic changes with each movement. The corset appeared almost architectural here — strong and defined, but never stiff. Against the rocks, water, and open sky, it simply existed as part of the scene. Through the shoot, it became clear how much context can shape perception. In open light, the corset felt confident and structured. Among trees, it seemed grounded. By the water, it looked sculptural and steady. The piece itself remained unchanged, yet its surroundings constantly revealed new facets of its design. Working outside also introduced a rhythm that can’t be recreated in a studio — light shifted, wind moved fabric, and small moments happened spontaneously. Those subtle variations made the frames feel alive, while keeping the editorial direction intact. In the end, this story wasn’t about showing multiple ways to style a corset. It was about seeing what happens when a familiar piece is placed somewhere unexpected. Sometimes styling isn’t about adding layers or building elaborate sets. Sometimes it’s about letting the garment respond to its environment, and letting the frame itself guide the story. A corset in a studio is something we’ve seen many times. A corset standing quietly among rocks, trees, and water feels like an entirely different conversation. • Ways to be kind to yourself

Ways to be kind to yourself LIFESTYLE Ways to be kind to yourself by Neha Pande 1 September 2020 Advertisement Be kind to yourself; your body, your soul and your mind because if you are not kind and loving to yourself then who will be? In today’s fast paced life we at times forget to take care of ourselves and when even a tiny thing doesn’t go according to our plan we start to feel low; beating ourselves over that one tiny mishap. During times like these we must take a step back and be kind to ourselves. Mishaps happen, problems and issues occur but we must stay strong and be kind to ourselves. Keeping that in mind we have made a list of ways which will help you be kinder to yourself. Take some time out for yourself – Take a break, take a time out and call it your day. Everyone needs rest and at times the best way to love yourself and be kind to yourself is to take a break and rest your body, soul and mind. Let yourself recharge and get ready for days to come. Go on a little vacation or if you can’t then take some time out to read your favourite book, watch a movie, cook, bake or go for a spa! Sky’s the limit; but make sure whatever you do, it relaxes you and makes you happy. Call a Friend – At times all we need is to call someone and vent all our troubles out and that’s why, when in doubt you go call your best friend. Friends can always hype you up and make you feel like you are on top of the world. Calling someone also helps you solve a lot of issues and helps you realise your self worth making you feel loved and appreciated. Just pick up your phone and call or in Sam Smith’s words “I’m only one call away, I’ll be there to save the day.” Give yourself a pep talk – “Hey you! You are stunning and beautiful!” Pep talks are essential especially on a low day. Instead of counting all the flaws in you, celebrate the good in yourself. Practice the art of pep talks; go stand in front of the mirror and remind yourself of how beautiful you are and how much of an amazing person you are. Take a nap – Why do you think babies are so happy most of the times? Studies have shown that taking naps can definitely make a person be energised and happy. Naps are like the super tablets that a person needs to be happy and if you are happy and energised you’ll be more kind too yourself. One nap a day will definitely make all you worries go away. Go for a walk or exercise – Go out into the world and breathe in the fresh air letting go of your worries. Walks and working out will not only keep you healthy and active but will also keep you fresh and happy. So pop in your earphones and blast some Beyoncé as you go workout or some Sam Smith for calm peaceful walks. I don’t dream, I have ambitions: Pavitra Punia talks about her goals, inspirations and wonderful acting career by Rupashree Ravi I don’t dream, I have ambitions: Pavitra Punia talks about her goals, inspirations and wonderful acting career 30 June 2022 COVER STORIES Advertisement Television actress Pavitra Punia is a bundle of talent. She is known for her roles in several popular television serials and for starring in reality shows. In an exclusive interview, she shared her experiences of playing different iconic characters, her ambitions and thoughts on feminism. Without a doubt, the television industry is very dynamic and competitive. It is not easy for actresses to leave their mark. Sharing her views on this, Punia said, “The industry is always going to be a hard place for everyone to leave their mark. There are so many amazing talents and a lot of competition indeed. The film and television industry is not an easy one to prove your work. But I am confident that I’m going to leave my mark. I still have a long way to go and a long journey to follow ahead.” Punia started her career in 2009 as a contestant in MTV Splitsvilla 3. She got her first lead role as Geet Dhillon in the Star Plus serial Love U Zindagi, where she starred opposite Sidharth Shukla. She went on to play many roles in different serials, from Anushka in Hongey Judaa Na Hum to Poulomi Roy in Naagin 3. She was also a contestant in Box Cricket League and Bigg Boss. It’s a daily soap and I have started filming for it, so please stay tuned,” she added. She spoke about her experience so far as an actress. She shared, “My experience in the industry has been wonderful. I had never thought of becoming an actress. When I got a chance to become one, the industry itself gave me the best and I think I’m just bearing the fruits of the labour that I put in every day as an actress. I love my job as I get to play different characters and live so many lives. Not everyone gets this opportunity. It’s a wonderful experience to have so many fans and to be a role model for people.” Punia’s favourite actresses are Charlize Theron and Jennifer Lopez. She cited them as inspirations and as role models she really looks up to when portraying a role. She also admires Kareena Kapoor and her work. “I also look up to myself and I see myself in the mirror along with my to-do list of goals,” she added. When asked where she sees her acting career taking her, she shared, “I think I see my acting career taking me to the heights that I’m very ambitious about. I don’t dream; I have ambitions. I believe dreams are meant to be broken. But my ambitions are like a bucket list. It’s a long list that is yet to complete. But yes, I know for sure that I see myself just like a superstar.” Talking about her favourite roles out of all the characters she has played, she said, “It was fun and easy to pick up the role of Timnasa in Baalveer Returns and even the character of Nidhi Chabra in Ye Hai Mohabbatein. I think I have portrayed all these characters well. It’s like someone has poured me into these characters. My most favourite characters are definitely these two. Currently, I’m playing the role of Mohini in Ishq ki Daastan – Naagmani. It’s really fun and is among my favourites.” Punia also shared her views on feminism and gave a message for all women. She stressed on the importance of being true to who you are. “It’s important for women to be themselves. They should be kind and fierce and also maintain a balance between both. Be healthy and honest about your bodies and have respect for all people out there. I believe being independent and earning for the family is also important. Live beautifully and fiercely,” she mentioned. Finally, she addressed her fans and thanked them for their support. She advised them to always be kind and be what they are. She said, “At the end of the day you’re going to reminisce about how you spent your time. Stay true to yourselves and live a beautiful life. Do not change yourself for anyone. Let people accept you the way you are. That is your superpower.” SEARCH A Journey Shaped By Courage, Creativity, And Social Media With Aditi Sharma COVER STORIES Inner Joy Trails My Inspiration : A Candid Conversation With The Creative Anushka Kaushik COVER STORIES Barkha Singh’s candid candour makes the way to an eye-catching interview COVER STORIES Educate, Empower, Excel: Priyanka Chahar Choudhary's Inspirational Overture COVER STORIES Waluscha De Sousa On Being Her ‘True Self’ And Going On The Dream Journey COVER STORIES POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Sakshi Shah Across Languages, One Voice: Sheena Chohan 1 April 2026 COVER STORIES By Sakshi Shah Mananveer Singh On Making Music That Feels Natural And Real 24 March 2026 COVER STORIES By Sakshi Shah Falak Khan On Acting, Identity, And Letting Her Work Speak For Itself 9 March 2026 COVER STORIES By Shriniwas Kodape Tej Music Vodka: The DJ Turning Youth Culture Into a Moving Dancefloor 30 January 2026 COVER STORIES RELATED POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement
