  • Kyle Wiens’ surreal hiring policies!

Kyle Wiens’ surreal hiring policies! by Aparajita Jaiswal Kyle Wiens’ surreal hiring policies! 27 July 2020 LIFESTYLE Advertisement Kyle Wiens, the CEO of iFixit as well as founder of Dozuki, talks about his hiring policies and especially stresses on basic grammar skills. He believes that not knowing the basic grammar reflects on the applicants learning curve. “Grammar is my litmus test. All applicants say they’re detail-oriented; I just make my employees prove it.” Grammar is a basic requirement for all companies. Wiens, stresses on the fact that he may seem slightly harsh in his hiring policies as grammar may not have anything to do with the applicant’s qualification for the job. The applicant may otherwise be qualified but their lack of grammar skills shows their lack of a present mind. Although he does not seem to agree with Lynne Truss who thinks that people who mix up their itses “deserve to be struck by lightning, hacked up on the spot and buried in an unmarked grave.” He just thinks that they should be passed over for a job. A mere comma can make all the difference in the world and is he wrong? Everyone who applies for a position at either of Wiens’ companies, iFixit or Dozuki, takes a mandatory grammar test as they write for a living. iFixit is the world’s largest online repair manual, and Dozuki helps companies write their own technical documentation, like paperless work instructions and step-by-step user manuals. So, it only makes sense that Wiens made a preemptive strike against groan-worthy grammar errors. Writing isn’t in the official job description of most people in the office and yet they give out grammar tests to everybody, including their salespeople, operations staff, and the programmers. Kyle Wiens may go as far as to pass on a great programmer who cannot write, even in this hyper-competitive market. He says, “I’ve found that people who make fewer mistakes on a grammar test also make fewer mistakes when they are doing something completely unrelated to writing — like stocking shelves or labeling parts. “In the same vein, programmers who pay attention to how they construct written language also tend to pay a lot more attention to how they code. You see, at its core, code is prose.” Wiens reckons to the belief that the devil is in the details. “In fact, when it comes to my whole business, details are everything. And I guarantee that even if other companies aren’t issuing grammar tests, they pay attention to sloppy mistakes on résumés. After all, sloppy is as sloppy does.” Wiens cannot stress enough that applicants who do not think writing is important are likely to think lots of other salient things also are not indispensable. #KyleWiensCEOofiFixitFounderofDozukiiFixitDozukiWriting SEARCH Ankita Malik: Empowering Change And Embracing Authenticity LIFESTYLE Juggling Two Worlds: The Inspiring Journey Of Kritika Goel LIFESTYLE Juggling Law And Fashion: The Inspirational Journey Of Riddhi Nahata, A Multifaceted Influencer LIFESTYLE Nikita Pawar: From Fashion Design To Digital Stardom LIFESTYLE Join Shruti Yogi On Her Enchanting Journey From Kumkum Bhagya To Wanderlust Saga LIFESTYLE POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Shriniwas Kodape Mood Indigo, IIT Bombay’s Iconic Celebration Of December 14 December 2025 LIFESTYLE By Shriniwas Kodape The Spa At The Urban Wellness Centre: Four Seasons Bangkok’s Sanctuary Where The Body Forgets The Noise 4 September 2025 LIFESTYLE By Anurag Sen Porsche Unveils The Next Generation 911 Cup: Precision, Power, And Purpose For 2026 24 August 2025 LIFESTYLE By Anurag Sen Mercedes AMG Petronas Keep The Momentum Rolling After A Podium Scoring Hungarian GP 21 August 2025 LIFESTYLE RELATED POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement

  • Building Opportunities And Expanding Horizons: An Interview With Actor Or Writer Meghana Kaushik

Building Opportunities And Expanding Horizons: An Interview With Actor Or Writer Meghana Kaushik by Aadhya Venkatesh Building Opportunities And Expanding Horizons: An Interview With Actor Or Writer Meghana Kaushik 30 June 2022 COVER STORIES Advertisement Meghana Kaushik is a multitalented actress and writer who aspires to do great work in the entertainment industry. Wishing to leave her mark, she thrives on the competition she faces. Meghana identifies the kind of work that she needs to do to justify her talent. "As an artist, your goals are clear to you", she says. While speaking about recognizing opportunities, she said that one must always be prepared for the golden opportunity, ready to strike it with complete determination when it does occur. Stemming from the need to create such 'golden opportunities' for herself and others, she began writing for the screen. "As a writer, I can tell stories and narratives that I, as an actor, would like to act in". Meghana also believes that writing stories that she believes in will allow her to talk about subjects that need to be voiced. Meghana comes from theatre and has trained with Barry John as she always believes in improving her craft. Her foray into acting has been a learning curve. Belonging to a family with no connection to the industry, she had to learn everything about the process from scratch. The downside to this is that she has been dropped from many projects because she is not well-connected or comparatively well-known. She hopes that she can eventually work with creators that "cast actors based on their talent instead of social media follower count". Wishing to travel the world with her career, she wants to stand out in her field. She sees herself on the world stage, winning internationally acclaimed awards for her work while simultaneously creating a space of recognition for Indian talent. Currently, she is working on two feature films, one of which she is co-writing. Her inspiration in the field ranges from Madhubala, Waheeda Rehman, Sridevi and Alia Bhatt in the Indian film industry to icons such as Audrey Hepburn, Meryl Streep, Amy Adams, Natalie Portman, and Emily Blunt, amongst others. One of the easiest roles Meghana has played to date has been Nikita from Love, Lust, and Confusion. She believes that the character helped bring out her alter-ego, a person who was free-spirited, fashionable and non-judgmental about life and choices. Meghana strives to be a leader in a world full of followers. She urges those around her to remain positive in their lives and not let our differences and flaws bring us down. She propagates empowerment through acceptance of personal flaws with flair and grace. "Set yourself small goals to start with, and love yourself first" is the mantra she wishes to share. In a message to the youth, she pushes them to take charge and pave the way for the world to become a better place. She champions everyone to use their energies to protect fundamental human rights and promotes education for all. "We always need to be mindful and dream big. It is pertinent that we do not get caught up in mediocrity". All Meghana wants is for people to get over being lazy and take charge of their own lives, ultimately initiating a change that starts at the individual level. • Kate Middleton’s Story Has Only Gotten Worse With Time

Kate Middleton’s Story Has Only Gotten Worse With Time By Anushka Sharma Kate Middleton’s Story Has Only Gotten Worse With Time 18 March 2024 LIFESTYLE Advertisement Kate Middleton’s situation has gone from bad to worse. What started as a small worry among fans of the royal family has turned into a big deal worldwide. People are puzzled by her sudden disappearance from public view. Even though Kensington Palace said she had planned surgery and would be away until March, strange things have made folks wonder what’s really going on. This whole thing has sparked lots of talk and jokes on social media, especially TikTok and X. People have come up with wild theories and funny memes. Some folks have turned into detectives, trying to piece together where she might be and what’s happening. Others have joked that maybe she’s off getting a makeover or hiding because of a bad haircut. But as time passes by, the jokes are turning more serious and people have actually started showing a lot of concern over morphed images and the safety of Kate. People are questioning if the photos of Kate are even real. Some are worried and want answers, and rightly so. Even TV shows are making fun of the situation, adding to the confusion. Is it a good way to garner the attention or a bad means to fuel the wildfire? We can’t say. This whole saga has captured people’s interest because it’s like a real-life mystery. Even those who don’t usually care about the royals find themselves drawn into the drama. It’s like watching a TV show, but it’s happening for real. And when you throw in things like edited photos, it’s hard not to get caught up in it all. Shows like “The Crown” and scandals involving other royals, like Prince Harry and Meghan, have changed how people see the monarchy. Many now assume there’s always something shady going on behind the scenes. While some just enjoy the gossip, others are genuinely concerned about Kate’s well-being. A group on X called “where TF is Kate Middleton” has thousands of members trying to crack the case. They share videos and stories, trying to figure out what’s really going on. As the speculation grows, even big TV shows are getting in on the action. On a recent episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the host talked about the rumors surrounding Kate and her husband, Prince William. It’s like everyone feels a mix of worry for Kate but also a desire to know more. Despite calls for privacy and reasonable explanations, people can’t help but be interested in the royals. They may not have real power, but they still hold a special place in the public’s imagination. Without their public appearances, what would they even be known for? In the end, the fascination with Kate Middleton’s disappearance shows just how much people care about the royals, whether they admit it or not. It’s a reminder that even in today’s world, where kings and queens don’t rule, they still capture our attention like no one else. • Nikhita Gandhi construes her journey

Nikhita Gandhi construes her journey by Aarti Singh Nikhita Gandhi construes her journey 2 November 2022 COVER STORIES Advertisement In an exclusive interview with L’utopia, the “MAHARANI” of Indian pop, Nikhita Gandhi decodes her journey from learning and working with A R Rahman to Naach Meri Rani and then Maharani. Talking about the legend, A R Rahman, Nikhita added how creative he is with developing songs right from scratch. “AR sir is probably the most interesting and vastly talented person I’ve ever met. You can never be bored around him! He is constantly trying new things and learning and adapting and moulding his craft. It’s so inspiring! I’ve sat in on some sessions when he was composing a song from scratch, it was pretty incredible to watch his process. He is unbelievably quick with the DAW and production and it’s a treat to see the magic happen!” It is pretty clear that Nikhita herself is insanely creative when it comes to her songs. Take Maharani for instance. She further explained what this song portrays for her and what was the inspiration behind it. “MAHARANI celebrates women in the most breezy and effortless way. That’s what really resonated for me with this composition. I always wanted to do a song about women that didn’t necessarily have to stand up for women or sound like a “cause” and instead simply uplifts women in a cool casual POP way! That’s probably what I love the most about this record, it’s suave and fun and still can be meaningful.” There’s so much that goes behind every song. Each and every song is unique and has a distinct thought behind it along with a story. Such was the case with Maharani as well. “I was visiting my friends in LA after my India Tour ended in July this year, and of course these friends happen to be pretty epic musicians. I don’t think they need an introduction but Shankar Tucker and Vidya Vox were hosting us and so of course we got into the studio and they played us some of their music. Ironically this was a song that Shankar wanted to play me because they didn’t want to release the track and felt I might connect with it more. It was instant love for me. I told him it’s a great song and that I’d love to finish it! So, when I got back to India, I rewrote the lyrics in Hindi and changed it to mean what being a Queen to me is. And this song was born! The best thing about completing this whole process was the video shoot, because as it turns out Shankar and Vids were in India in September for a show and so I thought it would be perfect to have them cameo in the video while they were in town! The whole thing sort of just fell into place and that’s what I love about the journey of each song.” While talking about the direction of the music industry, Nikhita shared how on-screen representation helps an artist become more known and emerge fully. “I’m excited to see the music industry stand on its feet. Where a singer or composer is famous for his/her work and not an unknown entity in a film where the audience only identifies with the actors in it. I would love to see more of that. I think if Badshah can feature in his song, in a film then it’s only a matter of time that we see more and more artists represent their identity on screen as well! This is where the audience will truly identify with their artist and true fans will emerge!” She previously pointed out how the music scene is in an unsure yet exciting space. Elaborating that she added how we can see a lot of trial and error. “Like I mentioned a little earlier about not knowing what’s working, it definitely puts music investors in a complicated spot but makes the answer really easy for musicians- do what you do best, not what’s working; cause what’s working also may not work for you (lol). That may sound confusing but basically the best formula is no formula and just making music from the heart! Syncing on film artist’s music in films is also happening these days in India like the west which I think is amazing! A lot of credit for that goes to the Punjabi industry who have truly revolutionized certain perceptions of the non-film artist.” Further talking about the potential for musicians to grow in all the industries, Nikhita disclosed how she thinks that there is so much one can do especially now that the independent scene is also getting its own space and followers. “We see a rise in the hip hop scene and singer-songwriter space and honestly the power is with the people. I think anyone who spends a little time understanding how streaming and music distribution works, can figure out their music career and find their voice. I recently visited the inauguration of the new batch of a music school and interacted with the freshers. I was really delighted to see that a lot of them were not simply enamoured by the well sold image of the frontman but had serious aspirations- some wanted to be producers, some sound engineers and so on. I was happy to see that the youth knows what it wants and is intelligent enough to find its path!” Music has definitely gotten a boost due to the onslaught of social media. She pointed out how remarkable it really is. “It’s kind of amazing how in the most algorithmic and calculatable phases of humanity with apps and data, music is still so ineffable. A common phrase I’ve been hearing these days is “kuch bhi chal raha hai” (anything/everything is getting famous) or “we don’t know what works” which means no real formula can be applied to music and what really connects with people. One great thing about social media is that you are directly in touch with the world, a person sitting in Iceland can be a fan of a new artist emerging from a small town in Madhya Pradesh. What really blows my mind though is that not knowing what works- it’s sort of a testament to the fact that music will always be a very personal and wonderous experience and each listener will always interpret the same song differently- that is a timeless truth!” Nikhita feels that not just social media but live shows are also a great way to share creative space with the world, especially her fans and something that she absolutely loves. “What’s there not to love really? Being on stage is so exhilarating! It’s that weirdly gratifying mixture of nervousness and thrill and happiness like being on a rollercoaster, but better! On stage you get to share energies with your audience which I think is a very beautiful experience. It can many times be therapeutic and one of the purest forms of joy! In the India Tour I did early this year, there was a moment when I was singing my original Bura Na Mano Yaara and the audience was singing along, they knew the words that I had written, by creation. It felt so amazing I don’t think I could describe it.” She feels that her roots and values have been something that helped her grow as a person and as an artist. “I’m blessed with the most incredible parents. I don’t think anyone could ask for a better mother and father. Each day I try to be more like them and that’s what takes me forward. They are so hardworking and caring and giving and I think I could go on and on about them, but the truth is one thing they’ve always told me to stay grounded and humble and not change for anything.” On a bona fide note, she shared how although there have been challenges along the way, she likes to look at them as learning curves and puzzles that she gets to figure out. “The music industry like most artistic fields can be pretty volatile and some days can have way more clarity than others so it’s important to constantly self-actualise. Though a Bollywood and film music singer I’ve also parallelly been an indie artist trying to release her own songs and having to do everything from producing to shooting my own videos to editing them and it can all be very overwhelming. But I like to look at things in a good light and try to turn the obstacles into fun new things I get to learn. That’s pretty much how I started using music production DAWs and editing softwares, cause as they say, necessity is the mother of invention! It also helps when you genuinely enjoy doing all of it!” She feels that there’s always going to be conflicting advice and problems- dress glamorously, dress differently; charge more, charge less; be picky about your songs, don’t be picky and be accessible— there’s always all kinds of advice but at the end of the day you listen to that voice inside of you, and always ALWAYS do only what feels right. The ‘MAHARANI’ singer is also huge on body positivity and inclusiveness. “It really makes me happy to see that such conversations have begun and are normalised topics now. I remember growing up an insecure chubby girl who would always feel the need to overcompensate her size with her personality. I would feel that boys saw me as a friend and not a potential girlfriend because I wasn’t skinny, and would look at my thin friends and want a body like theirs. As I grew older, I realised how unidimensionally I was thinking and that all body types are sexy and beautiful and have their own charm. What were my “thunder thighs” or “fat legs” and how they became the hottest thing about me. It’s strange how far a little bit of self-confidence can take someone and I’m sure a lot of body insecure girls and boys must have had it worse. I’m so glad though that things have changed over the years but I think overall the media and TV still, by large, represents beauty standards in the old school way. We’ve just scratched the surface. But every step counts and I feel so happy to associate with a magazine that resonates with body positivity and puts a smile on the face of my younger self and hopefully many other kids too!” Lastly, Nikhita shared how like MAHARANI, she hopes to see more of her singles and self-composed releases also do as well as her film playback music. “That truly is one of my personal goals and visions. I want MAHARANI to be playing next to Naach Meri Rani and all my music to be loved equally! And for now, I have tonnes of more music coming your way that I can’t wait to share with the world” SEARCH A Journey Shaped By Courage, Creativity, And Social Media With Aditi Sharma COVER STORIES Inner Joy Trails My Inspiration : A Candid Conversation With The Creative Anushka Kaushik COVER STORIES Barkha Singh’s candid candour makes the way to an eye-catching interview COVER STORIES Educate, Empower, Excel: Priyanka Chahar Choudhary's Inspirational Overture COVER STORIES Waluscha De Sousa On Being Her ‘True Self’ And Going On The Dream Journey COVER STORIES POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Shriniwas Kodape The Eternal Strings Of Amaan & Ayaan Ali Bangash 4 October 2025 COVER STORIES By Anurag Sen Vivian Dsena: The Fluke Star Who Became Television’s Undying Heartthrob 25 September 2025 COVER STORIES By Ananya Patankar Unscripted, Unstoppable: The Many Lives Of Christine Gulasatree 22 August 2025 COVER STORIES By Ananya Patankar Off Script, On Truth: Anshumaan Pushkar In His Own Words 30 June 2025 COVER STORIES RELATED POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement

Join Shruti Yogi On Her Enchanting Journey From Kumkum Bhagya To Wanderlust Saga by Akshra Khandelwal Join Shruti Yogi On Her Enchanting Journey From Kumkum Bhagya To Wanderlust Saga 26 August 2023 LIFESTYLE Advertisement In a world brimming with talent and creativity, Shruti Yogi has emerged as a multifaceted influencer who has successfully etched her name onto the canvas of social media. As I sat down with her for an exclusive interview, her radiant smile and infectious enthusiasm set the tone for a conversation that delved into her journey from acting to influencing, her passion for travel, and the essence of her digital evolution. "Life is treating me well, personally and in terms of work," she shared as we began our conversation. A statement that echoed not just in her words but also in her vibrant demeanour. As an influencer who has managed to strike the perfect balance between personal and professional spheres, it was evident that Shruti's journey was marked by intention and dedication. With a sparkle in her eyes, she revealed her upcoming travel destination – a place lingering in her dreams for far too long. "Iceland," she exclaimed, her excitement palpable. After years of yearning, she was finally set to embark on an Icelandic adventure come October. Her face lit up as she spoke about the ethereal landscapes she was eager to explore and the thrill of experiencing the land of fire and ice. However, her journey to the world of influencers was paved with a different kind of spotlight – the television screen. "I started my journey as an actor in 2015," she reminisced. With roles in TV shows like "Kumkum Bhagya," "Ishq Me Mar Jawan," and cameo appearances in "Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi," she had already made her presence felt in the entertainment world. But it was in 2019 that she decided to expand her horizons and step into social media. "I started posting pics and videos for my audience, which was following me because of my TV shows," she explained. Little did she know that this step would lead to collaborations with renowned brands and even earn her the prestigious "Wander with Luxury" award by the esteemed "Scy Awards." "A most memorable day," she recalled with a smile, the recognition a testament to her dedication and hard work. Content creators often find their niche through experimentation in the ever-evolving social media landscape. Shruti's journey was no different. She began by sharing content related to acting and fashion, slowly shaping her platform into a reflection of her passions. "I found my niche: fashion, travel, and lifestyle," she shared. Her evolution into a creator who crafts captivating fashion and travel videos was a testament to her commitment to personal growth. Photography and videography had become integral parts of her creative arsenal, allowing her to weave narratives that resonated deeply with her audience. As our conversation flowed, I couldn't resist asking about the three things that held an irreplaceable spot in her life. She chuckled, her response reflecting her authenticity. "I can't live without working – without having a goal," she admitted. The fire within her to keep pushing herself was evident. Her love for travel followed closely, a passion she nourished by ensuring a getaway every few months. "It's keeping me sane in this busy life," she mused. And then, there was coffee – a source of unparalleled excitement. Her eyes twinkled mischievously as she shared her fondness for that energising brew. In the realm of travel, memorable moments often turn into cherished stories. Shruti had her fair share; one stood out vividly – a trip to Croatia with her husband. Amidst the country's breathtaking beauty, an unexpected twist unfolded as her husband fell ill. "He got sick badly for 4.5 days," she recalled, her voice tinged with concern. Yet, what could have been a daunting experience turned into a heartwarming memory. • Winter – Take Care

Winter – Take Care by Akash Khatri Winter – Take Care 9 January 2021 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement The chilly season is back and now is the time to take extra care of your skin. Lack of nourishment can lead to dull, pale and dry skin. Winter weather affects all skin types. Some basics to keep your skin radiant and glowing: MOISTURISE Keep your skin hydrated! The cold winter air pulls moisture from your skin leaving it dry and itchy. Protect the natural oils by using a ceramide-rich cream. Try moisturizers with added vitamin C or vitamin E. For added protection, slip on socks or gloves to help the cream soak in better. A thermostat might suck in the hydration causing dry air which is bad for your skin, use a humidifier to add the moisture back. Hydrate We tend to not feel much thirsty during the cold but our body loses water in so many ways. Keep your body stocked with fluids to avoid the dullness. Health experts recommend drinking at least half a gallon a day. Sweater itch Winter skin is fragile, avoid materials that tend to irritate you as they may result in rashes. If you feel itchy, wear a cotton t-shirt underneath or use softer materials such as cashmere or fleece. Prefer lighter fabrics to synthetic ones. Use lukewarm water Hot water leaves our skin dry and flaky as it washes away the natural hydrating oils. Use lukewarm water, it helps loosen the dirt and also avoids the irritation. Try cutting down on shower time and temperature too, avoid the long hot tempting showers. Change your skincare A light moisturizing lotion might have been sufficient during the sunny summer days but it won’t do any good in the harsh winters. Use heavy rich creams with ingredients such as botanical oil, hyaluronic acid, glycerine, niacinamide and bakuchiol . Though the warm winter sun feels good but the UV rays are still harmful, use a good SPF sunscreen with titanium dioxide or zinc oxide. Avoid products that contain alcohol as they make your skin dry. Try overnight masks. Layer using a toner, serum and facial oils such as virgin coconut oil or grapeseed oil. • An Uncontacted Island In India: North Sentinel Island

by Aishwarya by Aishwarya An Uncontacted Island In India: North Sentinel Island 10 February 2023 TRAVEL Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement In today’s modern world, we all look out for vacation destinations that are close to nature. Maldives and Mauritius are the two islands that will be there in your travel bucket list. What if we say that, there is an island that is banned for tourists? Well, if you were shocked knowing that, then let us take you through the most isolated island in the world; North Sentinel Island. North Sentinel Island is one of the Andaman Islands, located in the Bay of Bengal. It is the part of the Andaman Islands that is voluntarily isolated by its residential tribe. North Sentinel Island is home to the Sentinelese people, who are indigenous people in voluntary isolation. We all love our solitude, but Sentinelese loves their solitude way too much. They are considered to be the only uncontacted tribe in the world. The island is not known to many and the Government of India has also banned tourism over there. Under the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Protection of Aboriginal Act of 1956, people are prohibited to visit this island. The North Sentinel Island is protected and looked after by the Government of India. Many attempts to visit this island have resulted in violence. There isn’t much information about the island and the government has decided to let them be isolated only. In 2018, the Government of India excluded 29 islands- including North Sentinel- from the Restricted Area Permit region, in an effort of boosting tourism. In November, the government stated that the relaxation of the prohibition was to allow researchers and anthropologists, with pre-approved clearance, to visit North Sentinel. The anthropologists are fascinated by this island as the Sentinelese have not been studied much before. They are violent with the visitors and hence, we don’t even know the exact size of their population. The relaxation of the prohibition was done in the hopes of knowing them and their culture, but the result of it was something different. We humans always have an attraction toward the unknown, and hence, many people traveled to the island illegally. In 2006, the death of two fishermen, Sundar Raj and Pandit Tiwari was reported. It is said that their boats drifted too close to the North Sentinel Island and the Sentinelese attacked them. In a similar incident, an American Christian missionary, John Allen Chau was killed in the year 2018. The case of John Allen Chau took over the news pretty quickly. The 26-year-old, John, invaded the island illegally, with the motive of spreading Christianity. He went there to preach to them about Jesus and was killed by the Sentinelese on November 17th, 2018. The boatmen who took John over there reported that he saw the tribe dragging John’s dead body to the shore. In the same fashion, in 2006, when Sundar and Pandit were killed, they were buried on the shore of North Sentinel Island. The government authorities excavated one body, with great difficulty, and handed it over to his family. The body of John is, however, not found. The officials have opened a murder case but have not arrested anyone yet. John’s diary also reveals that he knew he would die and he has made a statement saying “don’t excavate my body”. One of the most notable events between outsiders and North Sentinel happened in 1981 when the Primrose cargo ship struck a nearby coral reef- north sentinel is covered with coral reef- shipwrecking sailors for nearly two weeks. The sailors were also attacked by the Sentinelese, and it is also known that they used the ship's debris to make metal tools. There have been more than 11 such violent cases that happened on North Sentinel Island. It is believed that they have their language, Sentinelese. It is an undescribed language and due to the lack of contact, nothing is known of their language and its vitality. After the incidents of violence, India ceased visits in 1997. The first peaceful contact with the Sentinelese was on 4th January 1991. Triloknath, a director of the Anthropological Survey of India, and his colleagues were the first ones to have peaceful contact with them. He also says that the contact didn’t bring much of the secrets out, because they weren’t allowing them to reach them. One more miraculous fact about North Sentinel Island is that it survived the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami. The Indian government sent some helicopters to see their situation and give them food, but the tribe attacked the helicopter and swayed off the government officials too. While the much-developed cities suffered due to the tsunami, the North Sentinel Island- covered by water on all sides- survived it. Maybe, that is the reason we say that nature protects us when we live with it in alignment. The Sentinelese tribe is known to be the last hunter and gatherer civilization to exist. The government has now banned any tourist visits, respecting their desire to be isolated. It is also said that they are not immune to the pathogens of modern society, which makes them prone to modern-day diseases. While we desire to explore every part of the earth, it is better to leave some of the places on their own; untouched, uncontacted and unknown. BLOB An island that remains uncontacted, unknown till the date. Let’s know about North Sentinel Island, an island that is nonetheless a mystery to the human race. • Black Hole Theory

SOCIETY by Akash Khatri Black Hole Theory 1 October 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement If what happens beyond universe fascinates you then this article is for you! “Black Hole”, “Warm Hole” these are few of the scientific terms that recently became famous, thanks to the sci-fi series and films! But have you ever delved into the reality check of these theories? If not, no worries! We will be talking about the theories and facts related to Black hole right here in this article. “Black Hole” – the enigma that this term has! Who first predicted the “Black Hole” theory? The human genius Albert Einstein explained about the existence of “Black Hole” long back in 1916 in his work “General Theory of Relativity”. But he never named it as “Black Hole”. It was more of a prediction than a theory. Want to know a fun fact? Einstein himself never believed that such an object could exist in the outer space! Then who coined this name? It was American astronomer John Wheeler who coined the term “Black Hole” in the year 1967. But even till that time, nobody could find a trace of black hole. When we got know that black holes REALLY exist? The first ever black hole was discovered in the year 1971 and soon the world acknowledged the existence of black hole in real. What exactly is a Black Hole? Black hole is a densely compact object that does not let anything pass through it, even light. It has immense gravitational pull. Why this has so much of gravitational pull? When matter is squeezed into a tiny space it is bound to have such kind of gravitational pull! And black hole is a sheer black space in universe which can’t be seen with naked eyes. How black holes are formed? When a star runs out of fuel, it dies and gets converted into a “black hole. A space where only gravitational pull is left. No spark-No shine-No light! Are there only one kind of black hole? No, there are three kinds of black holes (discovered so far): 1. Steller Black Holes 2. Supermassive Black Holes 3. Intermediate Black Holes What did Stephen Hawking contribute about this topic Black Hole? In 1974, Stephen Hawking made a prediction that black holes eventually evaporate entirely (Though this theory is yet to be physically proved in real!!). Another interesting theory explained by Hawking is “Spaghettification”. This theory says, if by default, an object is trapped in a black hole then due to its exceptional gravitational pull the object would be stretched like a Spaghetti from head to toe, vertically! There is no end on the number of theories that this enigmatic topic has! #blackhole #Hawking #spaghettification #theories SEARCH Why India is the most depressed country in the world?
