- Sushmita talks about SushDazzles, her YouTube channel
Sushmita talks about SushDazzles, her YouTube channel by Aparajita Jaiswal Sushmita talks about SushDazzles, her YouTube channel 1 October 2020 Advertisement In a freewheel chat with Aparajita Jaiswal, Sushmita, a beauty influencer reveals that she recently hit 100k subscribers on her YouTube channel, SushDazzles. She is an introvert, optimist and a perfectionist, working towards making her dreams come true. As she grows, Sushmita would like to advocate sustainable and vegan options for beauty and skincare products. Sushmita, born and bred in Kolkata, is a beauty influencer with her very own YouTube channel, SushDazzles. She grew very quickly and is celebrating as she recently hit 100k subscribers on her YouTube channel. Sushmita creates celebrity inspired makeup looks and does product reviews on her YouTube channel. She jump-started her career from modelling and then decided to commence her very own YouTube channel, embarking on an independent journey towards being a beauty influencer. “I can unmistakably say that my subscribers inspired me to recreate celebrity looks,” Sushmita says. “I initially started with everyday makeup looks except for one or two random celebrity looks from time to time.” A few videos later she started recreating celebrity-inspired looks using affordable drugstore products. “I noticed in the analytics that many of my subscribers were Gen-Z and were too young to afford high-end products,” Sushmita reveals. Sushmita’s viewers started loving these tutorials and found them extremely helpful and her channel quickly started becoming popular. Sushmita is a typical night owl. She finds the calmness of the night inspiring enough to work on her videos. “A typical day in the week would look like lots of editing and ample number of shoots. I tend to fit in my workout at least thrice a week.” In the last two years, Sushmita has worked with multiple renowned Indian as well as international brands, majority of which are Swedish, American and Korean. “My primary focus is to introduce cruelty free, vegan, plant based and sustainable products to my audience, so whenever there’s an opportunity for me to work with such brands, I gladly accept.” She has worked with quite a few renowned makeup artists from Kolkata as a model. “I used to enjoy the process of getting ready for the shoot and was amazed by their finesse and artistry. It was then that I took an interest in makeup. Next thing I knew, I was watching a lot of YouTube makeup videos. I became familiar with the makeup techniques and terminologies. And my interest kept growing. Meanwhile, I decided to quit my job and start my YouTube channel.” There are multiple things everyone should keep in mind while working in the tough industry of influencers and in the digital world. According to Sushmita, patience, hard work and passion pays off in the end. “Like any other creative field, the most important thing is patience. Then comes hard work and you need to have passion for what you do. You need to love what you are doing and not look at it as a job.” “When I started, I had no experience of creating digital content. The first time I saw the interface of my editing software I started crying and I swear I thought I couldn’t do it. Then I pushed myself because failure was not an option for me. I made innumerable mistakes and I learned a lot from them. I don’t think I would have done anything differently considering the knowledge I have gained from these experiences.” “Coming up with new content is always one of the most challenging parts of the job. Also, since I review a lot of new products, I always run a risk of using something that might not suit me and hence damage my skin.” The number one key to success in the business is to be yourself, Sushmita says. “There is no one like you and that’s your super power. You will find your tribe and people will love you for who you are. My family has been the pillar of strength for me. And I have been reading this book called ‘The untethered Soul’ which is all about the spiritual awakening and the path of spiritual consciousness. The book greatly influenced my strength as well.” Sushmita talks about failures in the most positive manner. “I don’t treat anything as a failure. I treat it as a learning curve. There are times when I do feel a little demotivated, and there are ups and downs, but that feeling is only momentary. Instead of feeling bad about it I start analysing what went wrong and make sure to do it differently in future.” Competition in this industry can get tough, especially on the mind. “The only competition I have is with my own self. What I create today should be better than what I created yesterday. However if things get tough, I take a break, meditate and it helps me re-evaluate the situation, try to see things from a different perspective. The rat race might overwhelm you sometimes. It’s important to set yourself in the right direction.” Sushmita affirms that there is no particular skincare routine she follows to make sure her skin stays healthy and glowing. She tries various products on her review videos therefore constantly changing the products that she uses. Other than the products she uses on her skin, there are a couple of things she constantly keeps in mind throughout the day when it comes to her skincare. “I wash my face twice a day, morning and night, and mainly focus on cleansing and moisturizing. I make sure to use a good moisturizer and sunscreen during the day and vitamin-C serum at night. Other than the basics, my diet takes care of the rest.” Sushmita is a very mindful shopper and plans way before she shops. “I pick a store and then go for it. My favourite high end brands are Smashbox and Huda Beauty. I always wanted to try Charlotte Tilbury. Although, I don’t have any brand that I can’t stand, I wish all brands were cruelty free and Vegan. As I grow, I would like to advocate sustainable and vegan options. Apart from makeup videos I have also created contents on mental health, body shaming, colour differentiating, depression and positivity. I want my audience to be confident about themselves. I wish to create meaningful content so that it adds value to their lives.” Sushmita’s Beauty Gurus are Chloe Morello and Kaushal Beauty. “I love Chloe’s quirkiness and Kaushal’s simplicity. I feel Taylor Hill, Miranda Kerr and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley always have great makeup on. They always look very natural no matter how much makeup they have on. Their makeup is very glowy and dewy and very skin-like and that’s what I love!” When asked, what is the one item you would never leave your house without, she immediately replied, “I would have to say lip balm. I cannot live without a lip balm even for a second!” Sushmita is a huge Marvel fan and spends her time watching Netflix series or psychological thrillers when not held up with work. “I love watching The Big Bang Theory and Friends while having my lunch. I love watching educational YouTube videos where they talk about new scientific discoveries, quantum mechanics, thought experiments, paradoxes etc. I love to sing and I’m learning to play the Ukulele. I like acrylic painting on canvas. I love reading books. And I love checking out new eateries.” In a world full of people waiting to be inspired, Sushmita stands out as she is aspirational, talented and mind numbing brilliant. She is a young and independent woman taking the world on with mere talent and passion for what she believes in. - The story of the suicide forest: Japan’s suicide forest
by Aishwarya by Aishwarya The story of the suicide forest: Japan’s suicide forest 1 November 2022 TRAVEL Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement What does come to your mind, when you hear the word “forest”? Well, for obvious reasons, you would think about lush green space, a ton of trees, breezy and cool, and a very peaceful place. A forest that isn’t known for its peaceful atmosphere, but rather a disturbing truth, is a weird thing, right? There is a forest in Japan that has the reputation and recognition for having the second-highest number of suicides happening there. It gets even more spooky when the locals over there claim the forest to be possessed by the spirits of the suicide victims. This is the story of a forest in Japan, named Aokigahara Forest, located northwest of Mount Fuji. The entrance of the forest warns its visitors, to “Think carefully about your children, your family. Your life is a precious gift from your parents. Quietly think once more about your parents, siblings or children. Please don’t suffer alone, and first, reach out.” These are the words that are adorned at the entrance of Aokigahara Forest. This forest is globally known as the Suicide Forest. It is the second most famous place for suicides, the first being the Golden Gate Bridge. The forest is spread across a huge area of 35 sq km, giving it the name “Sea of Trees”. It is believed that getting lost in the forest is a very common thing here, and the way out of it is an impossible mission. With a story so dark, it is pretty common to have a reputation for it being possessed. According to Japanese mythology, the forest is said to be home to Yurei- which means ghosts of the dead. As per the official statements , around 105 bodies were discovered in the forest, in the year 2003. Most of the bodies were severely decomposed and/or eaten by wild animals. Due to its story, many Japanese spiritualists believe that the suicides have permeated the trees, which results in paranormal activities in the forest. People often lose their way inside the forest, as the technologies and devices such as compasses and mobile phones fail here. It is due to the deposits of magnetic iron created by the volcanic salt in this region. The devices start behaving weirdly and show wrong directions. Now, this is the reason, it's an impossible mission to find your way out of this forest. People also believe that the bodies of suicide victims should not be left alone in the forest. They believe that it is bad luck for the victims and often their spirits cry and scream for help, and also move their bodies. Now, we don’t know how true it is, but the belief of some people cannot be ignored just because it isn’t proven. Keeping this in the mind, the forest workers bring them back and keep them in a special room at the local forest police station. Many experts have researched why people choose to die in this forest. Almost three decades ago, a Japanese psychiatrist interviewed some Aokigahara suicide survivors and wrote that a key reason for their selection was that “they believed that they would be able to die successfully without being noticed.” Another psychiatrist, Dr Yoshitomo Takahashi, believed that movies and media reports have played a role in influencing people. He also said that they might have wanted to “share the same place with others and belong to the same group”. The nation has been taking steps to curb suicides, over the years. Security cameras are being set at the entrances, hoping to track those who walk inside, according to Imasa Watanabe of the Yamanashi prefectural government. The local government has also opted for suicide prevention methods, such as raising the bridge rails' height, having volunteered to talk to and convince suicidal visitors, increasing police patrolling and discouraging movies and TV shows to not promote the forest as a suicide forest. With a reputation so dark, Aokigahara Forest has failed to be peaceful and beautiful, as a forest should be. We need to know that, suicide doesn’t end your problem but rather removes you and replaces your family & loved ones, in your problem. There is a forest in Japan that has the reputation and recognition for having the second-highest number of suicides happening there. It gets even more spooky when the locals over there claim the forest to be possessed by the spirits of the suicide victims. #SuicideForest #AokigaharaForest #Suicide #MentalHealth #Japan #SeaofTrees #TravelFacts SEARCH The Fashion Capitals Of Asia: Exploring Style Beyond Borders TRAVEL Unveiling Delights Of Hotel Palazzo Versace Gem Of Dubai TRAVEL 7 Abandoned Cities In India And Abroad That Are Too Beautiful To Be Forgotten TRAVEL airBaltic Makes Global Debut On World’s Safest Airlines List TRAVEL Revolutionizing Air Travel: Qatar Airways Introduces AI-Powered Booking With Sama TRAVEL POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Shriniwas Kodape The Peninsula Bangkok: Grace Beside The Chao Phraya 4 October 2025 TRAVEL By Shriniwas Kodape 64 Floors Up: Lebua At State Tower Perspective 4 October 2025 TRAVEL By Shriniwas Kodape Four Seasons Bangkok: Where The River Holds Its Breath 17 September 2025 TRAVEL By Shriniwas Kodape Neon, Smoke, And Chili Fire: A Night In Bangkok’s Chinatown 2 September 2025 TRAVEL RELATED POSTS Advertisement

- Is a hangover curable by sweating it out?
Is a hangover curable by sweating it out? by Aishwarya Is a hangover curable by sweating it out? 4 November 2022 LIFESTYLE Advertisement With all of the holiday parties, house guests, and office happy hours, there's a risk you'll drink a little too much one of these nights. That can make for a difficult morning. Of course, we're talking about the dreadful hangover. Everyone has their solution for resolving the issue. Maybe it's a chilly shower and a cup of black coffee. Perhaps it's simply returning to sleep for a few hours. You've probably heard about a variety of hangover remedies. A common misconception is that a rigorous workout will help you sweat out a hangover. Although lifting weights or swimming laps after overindulging may help alleviate your guilt, there is no concrete evidence that exercising out after drinking can help you feel more human faster. You could be better off simply resting and hydrating during the day. Can you, therefore, sweat out your hangover to recover faster? Many people swear by it, whether it's going for a morning run or spending 20 minutes in the hot tub. Is it, indeed, effective? Fortunately, some of the world's most brilliant brains have pondered the same question. The British Journal of Sports Medicine investigated the relationship between physical activity and alcohol use in terms of health and death. The findings demonstrated that exercising at the recommended physical activity level — at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity per week — mitigates some of the hazards and negative effects of alcohol. That isn't the same as healing your current hangover, but exercise has shown promise in combating some of the overall harm caused by drinking. "No compelling evidence exists to show that any conventional or complementary intervention is useful for preventing or treating alcohol hangover," according to a BMJ article published through the National Institutes of Health. This includes anecdotal classics such as raw egg yolks, over-the-counter hangover cures, dog hair, and, yes, exercise. "The most effective strategy to avoid the symptoms of an alcohol-induced hangover is to practise abstinence or moderation," it says. Before you go to the gym, understand the hazards and potential benefits of working out while hungover: Dehydration: Alcohol is a stimulant, which means it causes the body to lose more water than it takes in (through urination and perspiration). Many hangover symptoms, such as dry mouth, headaches, and nausea, are commonly caused by this. Exercising and sweating might dehydrate you even more. You may be able to work out later in the day if you can drink enough to feel better, but don't use exercise as a cure. It may simply make you feel worse if you are dehydrated. Brain Fog: One of the adverse effects of excessive drinking is difficulty concentrating. When lifting weights or performing cardio on a machine, you're much more likely to harm yourself or someone else simply because you're distracted. Discomfort and Anxiety: Drinking excessively imposes stress on the body, making everything more difficult, including exercise. Your body requires time to mend, rehydrate, and recover from a hangover. A rigorous workout before you've healed can put your body under even more strain. In other words, working out when you're already feeling lousy isn't going to help. However, if your hangover symptoms are moderate, a brisk workout may aid in your recovery. Movement can help relieve stress by increasing blood flow, releasing endorphins, and relaxing tight muscles and joints. After all, physical activity produces "feel-good" chemicals and hormones that enhance energy and mood. Keep in mind that doing exercise will not help your body absorb alcohol faster. Any advantages of exercise are related to symptom alleviation rather than "curing" the hangover. Can you, therefore, sweat out your hangover to recover faster? Many people swear by it, whether it's going for a morning run or spending 20 minutes in the hot tub. Is it, indeed, effective? #Hangover #Alcohol #Drinking #Excercise #SweatOut #Lifestyle SEARCH Ankita Malik: Empowering Change And Embracing Authenticity LIFESTYLE Juggling Two Worlds: The Inspiring Journey Of Kritika Goel LIFESTYLE Juggling Law And Fashion: The Inspirational Journey Of Riddhi Nahata, A Multifaceted Influencer LIFESTYLE Nikita Pawar: From Fashion Design To Digital Stardom LIFESTYLE Join Shruti Yogi On Her Enchanting Journey From Kumkum Bhagya To Wanderlust Saga LIFESTYLE POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Shriniwas Kodape IIT Bombay’s Mood Indigo: A Cultural Platform That Brings Youth Voices Together 17 December 2025 LIFESTYLE By Shriniwas Kodape Mood Indigo, IIT Bombay’s Iconic Celebration Of December 14 December 2025 LIFESTYLE By Shriniwas Kodape The Spa At The Urban Wellness Centre: Four Seasons Bangkok’s Sanctuary Where The Body Forgets The Noise 4 September 2025 LIFESTYLE By Anurag Sen Porsche Unveils The Next Generation 911 Cup: Precision, Power, And Purpose For 2026 24 August 2025 LIFESTYLE RELATED POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement

George Russell ’s charge to third place, paired with Kimi Antonelli ’s gritty drive to P10, brought another double-points finish and the team’s seventh podium of the year marking an important boost in their fight at the sharp end of the Constructors’ standings. The Budapest circuit, with its tight corners, flowing rhythm, and limited overtaking zones, demands precision in both strategy and execution. Russell, starting fourth on the grid, wasted no time in making his intentions clear. Into Turn 1, he swept around the outside of Lando Norris, signalling an afternoon where every decision and every pass would be critical. Mercedes opted for a Medium–Hard–Hard tyre strategy for Russell, a choice that kept him competitive against the high-degradation challenges of the Hungaroring. His pace in the middle stint kept the pressure on Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, and in the closing laps, he made a calculated move to get ahead. When Leclerc later received a time penalty for speeding in the pit lane, Russell’s podium finish was confirmed. Antonelli’s race told a quieter but equally impressive story. Lining up 15th, the young Italian drove with a measured touch, balancing pace and tyre preservation over the long runs. Running Medium to Hard and stretching his final stint close to 50 laps, he found himself defending against fresher-tyred rivals in the final stages. Holding off advances from Isack Hadjar and Lewis Hamilton, Antonelli’s performance reflected maturity and racecraft well beyond his years helped by the team’s return to its earlier rear suspension configuration, restoring balance and confidence in the car. Team Principal Toto Wolff described the result as “a step forward,” crediting both drivers and the renewed stability in the W16. With no major aerodynamic upgrades planned for the remainder of the season, the focus shifts to maximising every detail of the current package vital in the tight battle for second place in the Constructors’ Championship. Trackside Engineering Director Andrew Shovlin highlighted how well the strategy came together, pointing to Russell’s controlled pursuit of Leclerc and Antonelli’s calm, calculated defence as proof of the team’s growing strength in both pace and adaptability. “It was a performance that set a strong tone for the second half of the season,” he said. Next on the calendar is Zandvoort, where the banked curves and unpredictable coastal weather will present a very different kind of test. Whereas Budapest rewarded patience and precise tyre work, the Dutch Grand Prix will call for versatility and the ability to react quickly to shifting conditions. The race in Budapest may not have been the year’s most chaotic spectacle, but for Mercedes, it was exactly the kind of clean, disciplined execution that builds momentum. In a championship where the smallest margins can tip the balance, the qualities shown at the Hungaroring could prove decisive in the battles to come. - Love Yourself
SOCIETY by Neha Pande Love Yourself 27 July 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement The 21st century has had some of the best inventions, theories, findings and the list goes on and on, but 21st century, especially 2017 and 2018, have also marked the beginning of body positivity for men and women. Now tell me how many times have you felt down thinking about your body? Thinking I’m fat or I’m too skinny or my arms are too long or my thighs need a thigh gap or maybe not. How many times have you looked into the mirror and felt sick of the way you look? But this year is the time when you leave all those worries behind and think positively about yourself and your body. Go to the gym because you want to be healthy, not skinny or eat a lot, not because you want more mass on your body, eat for yourself because it’s healthy for your body. Girls and guys at times get gloomy because of their body weight thinking “I’m getting too fat and I should probably go on a diet,” To them my answer is, No honey! No need to go on a diet! Because you look and are perfect just the way you are and let’s not forget in olden times a little bit of fat or plum was in fashion and now is coming back into fashion. The boys and girls who say “I’m too skinny, ” To them I’d like to say is that god you look beautiful and to my guy friends I’d like to say, you look handsome! I mean look at those collar bones, I want those. Beauty is subjective and it’s us who are making it objective but I’m proud of some high fashion magazines like Vogue and Elle for giving chances to models who do not fit the typical “model” standards that are tall, slim and oval shaped face models with great eyebrows. There has been a significant change in the fashion and makeup world which is embracing body positivity but there is always more scope as we still are hesitant towards it. We all should embrace ourselves and our bodies, go to the gym and exercise because it’s good for the body and eat yummy dishes because you deserve it! The best thing is nowadays we have amazing role models to look up to who talk about body positivity and how to embrace it, like Demi Lovato, Arjun Kapoor, Shane Dawson and many more who talk about how important it is to be body positive and spread body positivity. I mean if Robert Downey Jr. can be short and be the infamous Iron Man who has shaken up the movie industry. Our amazingly talented Adele can be plum and still embracing her body and rocking the stage, then we can also embrace our body and be positive about it. #BodyPositivitySelfloveLoveyourselfPositivityVogueEllePlussizeSkinnyDemiLovatoShaneDawsonRobertDowneyJuniorArjunKapoorAdeleBodylove SEARCH Why India is the most depressed country in the world? - THE XXXVI ENTRÉE
by Akash Khatri THE XXXVI ENTRÉE 7 July 2022 FOOD Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement An avid foodie? Someone who wouldn’t mind non veg for breakfast, lunch and dinner? Then wazwan is your one stop. So catch the next flight and head to the Switzerland of India, the spectacular valley of Srinagar and walk in a wedding or celebration. I promise you that the natives will be more than happy to serve you. The Vale of Kashmir has been attracting people from different corners of the world not only for its charm, beauty and tranquillity but also for its mouth-watering, delicious and spicy dishes and cuisines. The hidden secret lies in the variety of hot spices like cardamom, ginger, fennel seeds, cinnamon, black cumin and so on. They are popular because of their appealing flavour, texture, and palatability characteristics. They form an inextricable part of Kashmiri culture. The names of the dishes and their bountiful, spice-rich sauces tell us a long history of influences. The infusion of tradition and culture lead to a beautiful amalgamation of dishes. The methods of cooking are borrowed and mixed Iranian, Afghan and Central Asian practices. Wazwan (Kashmiri: وازِوان) is a multi-course meal in Kashmiri cuisine, the preparation of which is considered as an art and a point of pride in Kashmiri culture and identity. Almost all the dishes are meat-based using lamb or chicken with a few vegetarian dishes. Recently, Wazwan is also served internationally at Kashmiri food festivals and reunions. From wedding celebrations to memorials commemorating the 40th day after a family member’s death, the wazwan feast forms an integral part of family gatherings in Kashmir and leaves a person mouth-watered if sniffed from a distance. The credit for popularizing wazwan dishes goes to Persian and Sanskrit immigrants. The word wazwan is derived from two words, ‘Waze’ means a Cook and ‘Wan’ means a place where the cook cooks. The origin of the term has also been derived from a Persian word, ashpaaz, which means a special cook proficient in making soups, and with the passage of time the term became “Waza”. Wazwan is an art and is learnt through heredity only. It is rarely passed on to other persons outside the clan. It is an integral part of the Kashmiri culture and heritage. The availability of the Waza determines the marriage schedule of weddings. A week or two before the function or ceremony chief cook is hired to discuss the quantity and quality of rice, meat, spices, chicken, vegetables and other items of cookery. The whole wazwan is cooked on wuri, firewood stove-train, in large and small copper cauldrons, locally called Daeg and Degchi. It consists of thirty-six meals, fifteen preparations of meat are cooked overnight under the guidance of a head chef called Vast Waza who is assisted by other cooks. The basic prerequisite of a wazwan is that freshly slaughtered meat is used for its preparation. It also contains a lot of dry fruits and spices which are freshly homemade. The red colour is usually derived from either the Kashmiri chillies or Cockscomb flower called Mawal. The feast is so opulent that each platter customarily gets piled with 8 to 13 pounds of meat and can take more than two hours to eat. Waste is out of the question. Many wazwans end with doggy bags and guests angling to take away more of their favourite dishes. The process of serving begins with washing hands of guests by providing water to them by a copper jug and a basin, called Tash Naer. After that, Dastarkhan, Table Cloth is spread on the floor which serves as a sanitary surface for food and groups of four people sit around it. A sizeable circular dish, traem, with a mound of rice with different varieties of wazwan on it is served to each group. Then, Waze takes rounds with copper cauldrons and a ladle to serve the additional dishes one by one. Meanwhile alongside, salad, curd, water and soft drinks, and pulao are served. Along with these dishes curd, pickle and chutney made of walnut, onion, pumpkin, radish etc. are served in small pots. They say variety is the seasoning of life. Some of the main dishes of this extravaganza spread are: Rista These are meatballs served in fiery red gravy. Each Traem consists of 4 Ristas one for each person. They are made by boneless meat which is smoothened on a wooden mallet and often have meat fat which is added while the meat is smoothened. The perfection requires extraordinary skill Lahabi kabab or Moachi kabab Succulent skewered lamb kebabs which are flattened, given diamond-shaped and cooked in spices and yoghurt. Waza kokur (two halves or two full chicken cooked whole) Daeni phoul (mutton dish) Doudha ras (mutton cooked in sweet milk gravy) Rogan josh Lamb which is marinated at least 2 hours before is cooked in oil and Kashmiri spices, the colour of the dish comes from Kashmiri Red Chillies added to it. Methi Korma It is a sort of stew usually made with lamb stomach and flavored with methi or fenugreek leaves which adds a lovely unique flavor. This flavored gravy is very famous amongst Kashmiris and part of the extensive meat cuisine of the region. Tabak maaz It is a glossy meat made of lamb ribs that are cooked twice and then simmered in yogurt with spices till tender. It’s then fried thoroughly and served in dry form. The richness of the dish is apparent with the ingredient list, it tastes absolutely fabulous and the aroma pulls you towards another bite. Daniwal korma (a mutton curry with coriander) Waza palak (green spinach cooked into a silky consistency with small mutton balls known as paliki riste) Aab gosht (lamb cooked in milk curry) A sacral area of the vertebral column of lamb or mutton is cooked in milk with saffron, cardamoms and without other spices. Marchwangan korma (an extremely spicy lamb dish) Kabab (minced meat roasted on skewers over hot coals) Gushtaba (a velvety textured meatball in white yoghurt gravy) It is the finishing dish made of minced mutton balls which are made in yogurt and spices. It is similar to Rista but less spicy and it’s aroma resembles yakhni. Gustaba is like Rista made from pounded meat emulsion. Yakh’n This dish can be prepared with lamb or lotus stem. It is a spiced yogurt based dish cooked without chilies. Bay leaves, cloves, cardamoms are the prime flavors to the dish. The mutton is cut in the form of chunks of about.5-6 cm which is pre-cooked in boiling water for 20 mins before adding the gravy of yogurt. Ruwangan chhaman (cheese squares with tomato gravy) It is cheese cooked in tomato sauce along with spices. Cheese is called Chamman in Kashmiri. Dum selva (potatoes cooked in yoghurt gravy) Dum aloo Gand Aanchaar (chopped onions mixed with chillies, salt, yoghurt and spices) Muji chetin or Mooli akhrot chutney (a sharp radish and walnut chutney) Phirni The wazwan ends with this creamy delicacy, it is a milk pudding thickened with semolina or ground rice, flavoured with cardamom and optionally saffron, set in individual bowls with slivered nuts and silver leaf Ufff, it ends finally. I’m already drooling at the thought of all of it. You surely won’t be able to walk back home after all that eating. - Adah Sharma, Sweetheart Since 1920
Adah Sharma, Sweetheart Since 1920 by Aparajita Jaiswal Adah Sharma, Sweetheart Since 1920 10 November 2021 Advertisement The first person that comes to our mind when we think of the words 'fun', 'spontaneous' and 'multifaceted talent' is Adah Sharma. We had the opportunity to sit down and chat with the outgoing and busy actor, who has many movies in various languages in her kitty. Adah exudes maior 'Girl-next door' energy in her latest interview with Aparajita Jaiswal as they discussed about completing a century in the industry, internet's sensation and beloved Radha Sharma, thoughts on fashion, OTT platforms and more. How and when exactly did you realize your passion for acting? What is the best part about being an actor? Throughout my schooling I truly enjoyed acting. I had taken part in theater and plays every now and then. I always wanted to experiment and try and be something else every other day. Whatever I was wanting to become, I was very serious about it. started practicing acrobatics because I wanted to join the circus, you won't believe me. I was so dedicated and serious about it. I graduated from a Kathak course because I wanted to become a dancer. When I wanted to become an actor, once again, I was very serious about it and if I put it quite plainly, all the skills I learnt along the way have come in handy in my acting career. I can only answer it based on my opinion, to me, it is absolutely the fact that I am allowed to be different people and personalities on-screen. Everybody adores the content you and Radha give us. What do you think of Radha's popularity Everyone adores Radha because she is the star-kid Radha Sharma. She is the first stuffed pillow to have her own Instagram. I am glad people are accepting and giving Radha the attention she deserves, however, it is not because of me. People admire her solely due to her talent and multiple expressions. (laughs) You have recently completed more than a decade since your entry in the industry. How has your experience been so far and how has the industry evolved so far? How would you describe your acting? I have actually completed a century in the industry! I have this hashtag that says #HundredYearsofAdahSharma because I started with the movie 1920 and we are currently in 2021.which makes it a hundred years. So it is safe to say I have been in the field longer than most veteran actors. I don't think I have aged for someone working since 1920 (laughs) it has to be the curious case of Adah. As for how I would describe my acting; I feel very fortunate to have bagged 1920 because I was able to prove that I can perform since our debut movie really makes a huge statement. Media and audience have been very kind and welcoming to me and so was my audience. I am very grateful for all the love and support people have given throughout these years, it really makes me feel very comfortable and more crazy I guess (haha). You have a very strong fashion game. Who would you consider as your style and fashion icon? For me, fashion is something that should be fun. When you start taking it too seriously it gets stressful and then there's no fun. Fashion is a part of my life and a part of me that I truly enjoy. If I am a part of a movie then I like sticking to the essence of the character based on how the character is written. On the other hand, I enjoy experimenting and trying out something | haven't done before in the case of fashion or magazine shoots. I also feel that what attracts my attention to someone else's style is when they have an inherent style of their own. One should be able to pick a style/hair style and make it their own, it would make it fun for themselves and make them look confident. I would say rather than strictly sticking to copying 'trends' one should have and play around with fashion. I would even say, don't be afraid of making mistakes, make mistakes in fashion because what might be a faux pas today might be in vogue tomorrow and vice versa. So you do you and have fun with fashion. Tell us about the toughest part of your work? And why do you think it is tough for you? The toughest part has to be, realizing that I am able to live my dream every single day. I enjoy every part of what I am doing, be it wearing amazing clothes or being a new character. Well, posing for selfies while savoring Bhel Puri….. life is tough! (haha, serious sarcasm intended). If anything you would be asked to change about your work, what would be that one thing? I consider myself at a very good phase in my career. I am being considered for really fun roles so right now I really do not wish to change anything. I am purely grateful for where I stand now. Now that OTT platforms are gaining traction among actors, what do you feel and do you see it as an opportunity to display your work? I have had an unremarkable OTT presence. I've previously been a part of a short-film Tinday, Moh which was released on OTT platforms. I played a bipolar character in Chuha Billi and a role in another OTT release entitled Holiday. I saw that my presence in Holiday drove more attention than most movies I have been a part of did. So, I make it a point to choose series, films or short stories that entertain, because when it is entertaining the medium of release doesn't matter because people would take efforts to watch it. So far as the content is good, people are hardly impacted by the medium. Whether they watch it on their phones or in multiplexes doesn't matter as long as they are enjoying the content. Once again, since I am very experimental and fun with work I want to try it all. Why does your Instagram Bio say "Actor/crow/Cow"? Yes, because when no one is watching I can turn into them. PS: but only when no one is watching. You made your singing debut in Tamil. How did you prepare yourself for singing, that too in an unfamiliar language? I have taken Piano and Carnatic music classes since a very young age So singing came pretty much easily and naturally. Though I enjoy singing and dancing. I really believe that acting is my first love. I would like to dance and sing as well. but WITH the acting. You have worked in different regional industries as well. How has that experience been? How different is it from working in mainstream Bollywood? If there's anything the pandemic has taught us, it is that if the content is good, everybody is going to watch it irrespective of the language and medium. From my experience. realized that it lies in the vision of the director as well. I have made a mark in the South Indian industry. My movies are also dubbed in Malayalam. I've been a part of Punjabi music videos. I see myself working in other regional movies as well. I am a part of an international action film which I am quite excited about. I am excited to try out all Indian languages and I would give foreign languages a chance as well. How do you prepare yourself for a role? What attracts you to a role now? It depends from role to role. Each role has its individual preparation needed. For instance, for my role in Commando, I was expected to speak Hindi with a Telugu tone to it, so I had an accent coach train me and for action movies I train accordingly. As for my South Indian movies, I like to read and reread and go well prepared to set since it is an unknown language. I like to read for my roles beforehand and go to set well prepared. It can be really stressful to receive lines on set. What attracts me to a role is something I haven't done before. What is next for you? Anything you can talk about? Any new movies in the talks? I have finished two Telugu films, one of which is a Girl action movie and the other movie is a sweet love story directed by Telugu actor Nani's sister Deepthi. It is produced by Nani as well. There is Commando 4 where I reprise my role as Bhavna Reddy once again. She is funnier and there's more action. I will also be seen in 'Aisa Waisa Pyaar' where I play the role opposite a dog named Happy. It is a lovestory between a dog and a cynical bitch. I really enjoyed playing it. There is Holiday 2 too. slated for release. There are few more in the works, but I am keeping fingers crossed for everything to work out. If you see yourself working with a celebrity, who would it be? I do not hold dreams because if I do that and it isn't fulfilled then I am bound to be re-born similar to Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om and become an actor once again and fulfill it in that incarnation. I just hope amazing filmmakers wake-up someday and say I wish Adah would sign our films. That's my dream! You recently played the role of a transgender person in "Pati, Patni aur Panga'. How challenging was it to you and what measures did you take to prepare for the role? 'Pati ,Patni aur Panga' is a very sweet love story and I hold it very dear to me. I was attracted to the role and the film because as human beings we tend to jump into conclusions and to make hasty judgements without knowing the entire story. So, it is a film that taught us not to be judgmental, which is a very earnest thought. Could we ever get a chance to see you working in Hollywood? Does that interest you? Like I mentioned earlier, one may never know. I am open with my options and wish to try and pursue acting in different roles and in different languages as long as the role, core, content and message of the film/series/short film are meaningful and something I haven't tried before. “JUST HOPE AMAZING FILMMAKERS WAKE-UP SOMEDAY AND SAY I WISH ADAH WOULD SIGN OUR FILMS.
