- Why is childhood obesity becoming so common?
Why is childhood obesity becoming so common? by Rupashree Ravi Why is childhood obesity becoming so common? 15 August 2022 LIFESTYLE Advertisement One in five children between the ages of six and nineteen years in the United States have a body mass index at or above the 95th percentile, which is considered obese. Over forty population of the adult population in the US are also obese. In India, there’s been an alarming rise in childhood obesity all over the country, with over 18 million overweight children. And when the parents are overweight, their kids are eighty per cent more likely to have a weight problem too. Are parents making their children fat? Yes, the reason is that the easy, quick, and cheap food options that parents are providing their children fuel an obesity epidemic. Canned, processed, and packaged foods have become the go-to option for working parents who don’t have the time to prepare fresh home-cooked meals. Instant and ready-to-eat meals have become popular alternatives. Moreover, children regularly binge-eat junk options like fast food, chips, and cookies as snacks. “A typical Indian diet relies heavily on salt and sugar. They eat more convenience food that is high on carbs, instead of balanced meals.” A healthy Indian meal can constitute a combination of pulses, fibres, proteins and carbohydrates During the pandemic, these unhealthy eating habits only kept increasing due to the absence of regulated meals. A study found that the screen time for children aged between ten to fourteen years doubled as lockdowns were imposed globally. With the lack of a routine, there were also increased stress hormones, increased snacking, and emotional eating, which all contributed to increased weight gain in children. Parents and children also began to use food delivery apps more often. The lockdowns made children more obese due to poorer diets Of course, it is a proven fact that childhood obesity is a chronic disease. It has a lot of causal factors like a person’s genetics, individual metabolism, sleeping patterns, eating habits, and how physically active they are. Even other factors like negative childhood experiences, social factors like poverty and race, and environmental factors like financial status play an important role. But there are some other subtle factors as well. When it comes to the packaging of these products, colour plays an important role in children’s choice of food. For example, bright red increases a particular food product’s perceived taste, while green increases its perceived healthiness. Children also easily remember the brand names of junk food. Children should have regulated and balanced diets So what’s the solution? A great way for parents to start is by monitoring children’s screen time and showing consistency with media limits. Get your children to play outdoors more often. Parents should also protect their sleep time, and ensure they eat balanced meals of carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, fruits, and vegetables each day. It’s important that they read the entire nutritional label before purchasing a product and encourage healthier food and lifestyle choices. Because obesity is not just medical and physical health-related, but it also impacts the psychological and social well-being of children. With these right steps, we can prevent and fight obesity in children, before it becomes a larger and global issue. #Obesity #ChildhoodObesity #Overweight #HealthyEating #SayNoToJunk SEARCH Ankita Malik: Empowering Change And Embracing Authenticity LIFESTYLE Juggling Two Worlds: The Inspiring Journey Of Kritika Goel LIFESTYLE Juggling Law And Fashion: The Inspirational Journey Of Riddhi Nahata, A Multifaceted Influencer LIFESTYLE Nikita Pawar: From Fashion Design To Digital Stardom LIFESTYLE Join Shruti Yogi On Her Enchanting Journey From Kumkum Bhagya To Wanderlust Saga LIFESTYLE POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Shriniwas Kodape The Spa At The Urban Wellness Centre: Four Seasons Bangkok’s Sanctuary Where The Body Forgets The Noise 4 September 2025 LIFESTYLE By Anurag Sen Porsche Unveils The Next Generation 911 Cup: Precision, Power, And Purpose For 2026 24 August 2025 LIFESTYLE By Anurag Sen Mercedes AMG Petronas Keep The Momentum Rolling After A Podium Scoring Hungarian GP 21 August 2025 LIFESTYLE By Ananya Patankar Precision Meets Power: Inside Audi’s Formula 1 Masterplan 5 August 2025 LIFESTYLE RELATED POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement

- Ritabhari Chakraborty talks about her adopted school, The Ideal School for the deaf
Ritabhari Chakraborty talks about her adopted school, The Ideal School for the deaf by Aparajita Jaiswal Ritabhari Chakraborty talks about her adopted school, The Ideal School for the deaf 24 September 2022 COVER STORIES Advertisement The beautiful, smart and accomplished actress, Ritabhari Chakraborty, talks to Editor-in-chief, Aparajita Jaiswal in a freewheel chat about her latest film Fatafati, which is centred around body positivity. The actress excitedly exclaims that the film is in her mother tongue, Bengali. With the shooting wrapped up, the film is due to release in merely a few days, creating much anticipation in the minds of Ritabhari's adoring fans. The film is about a plus sized or rather a double XL model's journey and how she breaks the norms of “fashion” that we believe in; that women should have a certain kind of a body to be in fashion. The film talks about how girls should not measure their happiness and health by the stereotypical body shown in films. Ritabhari excitedly says, "this is the project that I'm currently looking forward to the most and want everybody to also look forward to with me." With an industry that is so unbelievably hard to make a mark in, each artist faces the trouble of understanding and bearing with the process. Ritabhari gives her perspective on the matter. "I think anyone who's starting off in the industry, in the film industry, the first thing you should know is acting. A lot of people think if you look good, if you're pretty, if you have a certain presence, that that's enough to become an actor. Trust me, that's absolutely not true! The first thing you need to know is how to act, second is you need to know that there are going to be days when you have no work and you have to be okay with it when you see your other friends, your colleagues people of your profession who are getting jobs when you're not as much patience is the key. You have to know in advance that there will be days when you just have to be patient and believe in yourself. "Thirdly, you have to carve your own path of whatever success means to you, whatever you are meant to do as an actor because every actor is different. Every personality is different. If you're aspiring to be Katrina Kaif, you cannot be Katrina Kaif because she is her. If you're aspiring to be Alia Bhatt, but you cannot be Alia because she is her. You have to aspire to be something that's original. That's the only way you can be seen and heard by people, because when they already have an Alia Bhatt who is so incredible, why would they want another one?," Ritabhari says correctly. Ritabhari played a woman priest in the film Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti, a film that focused on menstruation and how when are not impure. "I think I get personally attached to all my roles. My last super hit film, Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti, where I've played a women priest, broke so many norms as it spoke about menstruation and how women are not impure. The film broke such taboos, giving so many women the platform to become women priests. This is something that will always be very close to my heart, so I think I'm very attached to my character Shabari." Ritabhari talks about the challenges one might face in the industry, one of them being comparing yourself with others, their successes and their journey. "I think when everyone is doing so much that you tend to compare yourself and your journey to other people, and I really feel like that can be a real heartbreaker and a real problem in your way because your journey has to be yours. If you keep comparing yourself, you'll never be happy and you'll never be grateful for the work you are getting. Ritabhari is a riveting book enthusiast. Her inspiration spans from Indian and Loiuse Hay to Shonda Rhimes’ book “The year of yes" to Shonda Rhimes as a producer, writer and Oprah Winfrey but especially her mother. As an actress, she looks up to Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra amongst many more. "Deepika Padukone is such a huge inspiration. Priyanka Chopra, the more you say, you still turn up short. Women in the business are surviving through this patriarchal and hard business. I get inspired by women every single day." Ritabhari Chakraborty adopted the Ideal school for the deaf when she was merely 16. She expresses how it has been a life changing journey as it keeps her grounded. Ritabhari strongly feels her purpose is more than being an actor and she feels proud to be the mother of 84 children. "When I was a kid, I realized that I can technically change the lives of these children and took it up and I'm so glad I did. This is one thing I'll always be proud of. More than how grateful they should be or they are of me, I am more grateful to be their parent, their foster guardian because being their foster guardian means that I get to make changes in the lives of all these kids. I get to see them grow up and become something of their own. And they're so alienated in the society deaf children are as they have the toughest time adjusting to the world and to people, everyone else. They made me one of their own and that makes my heart melts. I celebrate everything with them, all festivals, my birthday, all of it. This is a blessing; God blessed me in the biggest way possible." Ritabhari Chakraborty comments on body positivity and says one need not fret about their body type whether it is healthy or skinny. We should be proud of our bodies as its god given and hereditary as well. As she works for a school for the deaf, she realises just how important it is to have everything functioning just right. It is a miracle that we have bodies that breathe for us and function correctly. Looking at movie stars, magazine covers and celebrities makes us think that that is how we should look. She believes it is important to break that mentality. Additionally, Ritabhari sends her love to all her fans, "Thank you so much for loving me. Thank you so much for being part of my journey and the life I lead, what I do, my achievements, my failures, all of which I put in front of you and you get to see. One of the reasons I do not shy away from anything, whether it be posting about my health conditions or mental health issues on social media and talking about it openly in interviews is because I want you to know I’m a human. I'm flawed just like you and I'm perfect and amazing just like you. So if I can inspire even a small margin of people, women especially, to be themselves, work hard and achieve their dreams, I think that would mean a lot to me." Women in the business are surviving through this patriarchal and hard business. I get inspired by women every single day. Ever heard of Lakshadweep? It's like a hidden treasure chest in the Indian Ocean, full of amazing surprises! Picture this: turquoise waters, colorful coral reefs, and sandy beaches that feel like fluffy pillows for your feet. Lakshadweep is not just one island, but a whole bunch of them – 36 to be exact! Each one has its own special vibe, like having a different flavor of ice cream every day. So, what makes Lakshadweep so special? Let's start with the beaches. Oh, the beaches! With their soft, white sand and crystal-clear waters, they're like something out of a postcard. Whether you're a beach bum who loves to laze in the sun or a water baby who can't wait to dive into the waves, Lakshadweep has a beach for you. But it's not just about sunbathing and swimming – although those are definitely two of the main attractions. Lakshadweep is also a mecca for water sports enthusiasts. From snorkeling and scuba diving to kayaking and windsurfing, there's no shortage of adrenaline-pumping activities to try. Let's talk about snorkeling, shall we? Strap on your mask and flippers and get ready to dive into a world of wonder beneath the waves. The coral reefs around Lakshadweep are teeming with life – colorful fish, graceful sea turtles, and even the occasional dolphin or whale shark if you're lucky! It's like swimming in a giant aquarium, except you're part of the show. And speaking of coral reefs, did you know that Lakshadweep is known as the Coral Islands? That's because it's home to some of the most beautiful coral formations in the world. As you explore the underwater wonderland, you'll be amazed by the vibrant colors and intricate shapes of the coral gardens that stretch as far as the eye can see. But Lakshadweep isn't just about what's under the sea – it's also about what's on land. The islands are home to a rich diversity of flora and fauna, from towering coconut palms to exotic birds and butterflies. And let's not forget about the friendly locals, who are always eager to share their island paradise with visitors. One of the best things about Lakshadweep is that it's still relatively undiscovered. Unlike some other tourist hotspots, you won't find crowded beaches or overdeveloped resorts here. Instead, you'll have plenty of space to roam free and soak up the natural beauty of the islands. So, whether you're looking for adventure, relaxation, or a little bit of both, Lakshadweep has something for everyone. Pack your bags, grab your sunscreen, and get ready for the trip of a lifetime. - From Dental Drills To Instagram Thrills: The Journey Of Mekhala Bawsay
From Dental Drills To Instagram Thrills: The Journey Of Mekhala Bawsay By Anushka Sharma From Dental Drills To Instagram Thrills: The Journey Of Mekhala Bawsay 16 August 2024 LIFESTYLE Advertisement In an era where digital transformations are reshaping careers and creating new pathways, few stories are as intriguing as that of Mekhala Bawsay . Once a practising dentist with a flourishing clinic, Mekhala now stands as a prominent figure in the digital realm, an influencer who has mastered the art of content creation. But how did this remarkable transition occur? Let’s dive into Mekhala’s journey and uncover the secrets behind her success. Mekhala’s venture into the world of influence was anything but planned. Four years ago, while juggling a dental practice and part-time modelling, she felt an undeniable pull towards the fashion and beauty industry. "I realised that being in front of the camera, getting ready, and creating content made me genuinely happy," Mekhala recalls. Despite a successful dental practice, she couldn't ignore her true passion. The decision to shift careers wasn't easy, especially coming from a family of doctors. However, Mekhala was determined. "One day, I decided to pursue what I actually wanted to do rather than what I was supposed to do," she explains. She began posting content on Instagram, even before the advent of Reels, focusing on beautiful, curated photos. Slowly but surely, her follower count grew from a few hundred to several thousand. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Mekhala seized the opportunity to hone her skills. With events and launches on hold, she and a friend invested time in learning about photo and video creation, editing, and upgrading their gear. This period of intense learning paid off when Reels emerged, revolutionising Instagram and catapulting Mekhala’s following to over 400,000. Brands took notice, and her collaborations expanded significantly. Interestingly, Mekhala’s journey was entirely self-taught. Despite pursuing an MBA in marketing, she learned the intricacies of digital content creation on her own. "There was no such recognized field as an influencer back then," she notes. Her ability to adapt, learn, and create captivating content set her apart in an increasingly crowded space. But Mekhala’s transformation wasn’t just about personal passion; it also required strategic thinking. She emphasises the importance of loving what you do, even if it means making sacrifices. "Unless you love what you do, you won't feel like getting up in the morning," she advises. For her, the joy of creating content outweighed the security of a traditional career in dentistry. Mekhala’s success also stems from her understanding of the digital marketing landscape. Today, she runs a digital marketing agency, managing brands and handling multiple projects simultaneously. "I enjoy this more," she admits, highlighting the fulfilment she derives from her current role. A vital aspect of Mekhala’s influence lies in her authenticity. She remains true to her roots, focusing on skincare , beauty, and lifestyle content. As a new mother, she has seamlessly integrated mom-influencing into her repertoire. Her relatable and genuine approach resonates with her audience, fostering trust and engagement. When asked about skin care tips, Mekhala shares timeless advice passed down from her mother. "I used to apply a lot of organic sandalwood," she reveals. She also swears by coconut oil for removing makeup, emphasising the importance of nourishing the skin naturally. Her commitment to these practices has helped her maintain a clear and healthy complexion. Mekhala’s rise to influencer stardom is not just about posting pretty pictures. It's about strategic content creation, continuous learning, and staying true to oneself. For aspiring influencers, she offers valuable advice: "Find your talent and work on it. You don’t need to invest heavily initially. Start small and keep improving." In terms of finances, Mekhala sheds light on the potential earnings in the influencer industry. While initial stages might involve barter collaborations, serious income opportunities arise as follower counts grow. "The pricing can start from 5,000 to 10,000 INR and go up to 1 lakh to 2 lakhs per brand collaboration," she explains. However, she notes that regular income often requires consistent collaborations. Mekhala also addresses the competitive nature of the industry, particularly in Mumbai. While the city offers numerous opportunities for brand collaborations, she believes there’s untapped potential in regional areas. "The more local you are, the more chances there are for you to grow," she asserts, encouraging influencers to stay connected to their roots. Reflecting on her journey, Mekhala’s story is a testament to the power of following one’s passion, adapting to change, and embracing new opportunities. A recipient of an award of recognition among 45 healthcare change makers on social media , Her transition from dentist to influencer serves as an inspiring example of how embracing digital platforms can lead to uncharted territories and fulfilling careers. For those considering a similar path, Mekhala’s journey underscores the importance of authenticity, hard work, and unwavering dedication to one’s true calling. - Anuar Faizal: Where Culture Cuts Couture
Anuar Faizal: Where Culture Cuts Couture By Anurag Sen Anuar Faizal: Where Culture Cuts Couture 8 July 2025 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement There’s a quiet kind of power that walks before the man himself. It’s in the structured grace of a blazer cinched just right. In the silent authority of a sweeping coat worn like armor. In the delicate rebellion of embroidery that references heritage but doesn’t get lost in it. This is the world of Anuar Faizal —Malaysian designer, modern couturier, and a force who doesn’t just dress people, but drapes them in presence. Stepping onto the runway at Thailand Fashion Week AW25/26 , Anuar Faizal made his presence known—not through spectacle, but through intent. His runway moment didn’t merely showcase clothing—it communicated a vision. Known for blurring the lines between masculinity and softness, culture and cosmopolitanism, Faizal has, over the years, built a label that doesn’t just follow fashion’s rhythm—it composes its own. For those familiar with the Southeast Asian fashion landscape, Anuar Faizal is not a new name. But his work resists simple categorization. At the core of his collections lies a commitment to precision tailoring, but he subverts this structure with unexpected details: exaggerated silhouettes, unconventional cuts, traditional fabrics transformed through futuristic treatments. If fashion is a language, then Anuar Faizal speaks in contrasts—and makes it poetic. Born and raised in Malaysia, with deep cultural ties to both Malay and American influences, Faizal’s personal history has always mirrored multiplicity. His early foray into design was more necessity than experiment—tailoring his own clothes because the market offered nothing that felt both refined and grounded. What started as personal expression quickly evolved into a vision shared by clients, celebrities, and now, global runways. His menswear is particularly revered. While the world still struggles to reimagine masculinity in fabric form, Faizal’s work has long embodied it: not as dominance, but as presence. Think sharply tailored blazers softened by brocade lapels, suiting layered with flowing tunics, or trousers that taper like a second skin but open at the ankle with a whisper of rebellion. Every stitch dares the wearer to occupy space—not with noise, but with grace. His womenswear, though newer to his portfolio, carries the same philosophy. Far from being a mirrored extension of his menswear, his womenswear stands as a carefully crafted parallel. His gowns are built like architecture—clean, assertive lines balanced with drapes that flirt with the wind. His recent creations feature asymmetrical silhouettes, metallic embroidery, sheer overlays, and bold structural ruffles—elements that fuse power dressing with romanticism. For Anuar, femininity doesn’t mean fragility. It means force, rendered in silk and satin. It wasn’t just the silhouettes that distinguished his Thailand Fashion Week showcase—it was the charged atmosphere they created. Models walked with an intention that felt less choreographed and more claimed. The palette moved from obsidian blacks and burnished golds to slate greys and ivory whites, interrupted only by flashes of crimson and forest green. Capes flowed, collars rose like protective shells, and trousers gleamed with the richness of hand-finished textures. There were garments that could walk into boardrooms and others that could stop time on red carpets. What echoed through the collection was undeniable: elegance doesn’t whisper—it asserts. And yet, Faizal’s vision goes beyond fashion’s surface. In interviews and captions—he’s selective, always intentional—he speaks often of representation, of using design as a cultural and emotional mirror. In a world that has long exoticized or misunderstood Southeast Asian design, he’s among the few pushing for nuance. He doesn’t pander to Western aesthetics, nor does he cling to nostalgia. Instead, he stands in the fertile in-between: modern, rooted, global, grounded. What also distinguishes Anuar Faizal is his relationship with his atelier . He designs not for a passive consumer, but for individuals who understand the language of clothing. His pieces are not made to wear once and forget, but to be remembered—as an extension of a moment, a mood, a milestone. Celebrities across Malaysia and Indonesia have turned to him for that very reason: red carpet looks that speak not only to glamour, but to identity. Beyond the clothes, Faizal’s label is a study in evolution. In the last few years, he’s shifted from boutique showings to full-scale runways, and from niche clientele to broader, international audiences. Yet through it all, his DNA remains unchanged. Every season feels like a new chapter of the same book—elevated, but cohesive. He doesn’t rely on gimmicks. There are no theatrical headpieces, no loud slogans. His storytelling is subtler, but stronger for it. Perhaps that’s why his Thailand Fashion Week showing felt less like a debut and more like a homecoming. Not to a place, but to a moment in fashion where authenticity matters more than algorithms. Where the designer’s hand is still felt in the fold of a cuff. Where power doesn’t shout, but walks in silk and stands still. In a season overflowing with flash and formula, Anuar Faizal’s collection was a reminder. That fashion, at its best, doesn’t just change how we look—it changes how we feel in our own skin. That tailoring can be spiritual. That presence can be quiet. And that elegance, when redefined by the right hands, can still feel revolutionary. With every sharp contour, every refined silhouette, every echo of heritage, Anuar Faizal is composing something lasting. - Puma Speedcat Ignites Again With Rosé At The Wheel
Puma Speedcat Ignites Again With Rosé At The Wheel By Ananya Patankar Puma Speedcat Ignites Again With Rosé At The Wheel 25 July 2025 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement K-pop icon Rosé leads the charge in PUMA’s latest Speedcat release—a dynamic fusion of retro racing spirit and modern street energy. Rosé lends her cool intensity to the PUMA Speedcat’s latest evolution—where a pale blue palette and racing roots collide in a silhouette made for modern icons. There are shoes that walk, and then there are shoes that wait to launch. Enter the PUMA Speedcat, a cult silhouette forged from motorsport DNA and resurrected once more, this time with the quiet power of K-pop star Rosé . In its latest iteration, the Speedcat doesn’t just make a comeback, it revs to life in a fresh pale blue colorway, punctuated with a flash of fierce orange, and a whole lot of attitude. Launched July 24, 2025, this drop marks yet another thrilling chapter in the Speedcat’s legacy, a shoe that first drew breath on the race circuit and now tears through streetwear culture with unapologetic ease. It’s lean, low-profile, and engineered for edge. Think: retro pit-lane cool meets future-forward styling. Rosé, a longtime PUMA muse and master of understated glam, once again takes the wheel in the brand’s visuals. But these aren't high-speed action shots. They’re slow-burning, simmering scenes. There’s a growling muscle car, a flicker of flame-red reflections, and Rosé sitting still, yet somehow brimming with momentum. It’s a cinematic expression of what the Speedcat stands for: power in repose, elegance poised to explode. The color story furthers the duality. That soft blue upper reads almost serene, until the orange Formstrip slices through like a bolt of speed. It's a nod to the shoe’s motorsport heritage, but it also feels distinctly contemporary. The kind of color combo that glides from tarmac to terrazzo café floor without missing a beat. What makes this drop desirable isn’t just its aesthetic, it’s the aura it exudes. The Speedcat isn’t trying to be trendy; it is timeless. And yet, with Rosé lending her quiet fire to the campaign, it becomes something more. A wearable contradiction: cool yet charged, graceful yet grounded, a shoe that speaks even in stillness. Available now on PUMA.com , flagship stores, and selected retailers, this release is less about speed and more about style that simmers. Whether you’re a motorsport devotee, a Rosé fan, or someone with an eye for silhouette and statement, the Speedcat is your signal flare. Because the real power moves? Is knowing when to stay still—and when to ignite. - From Alexandria To Dubai: The Inspiring Journey Of Mennatallah Ali
By Anushka Sharma By Anushka Sharma From Alexandria To Dubai: The Inspiring Journey Of Mennatallah Ali 14 August 2024 BEAUTY Advertisement Advertisement Mennatallah Ali’s story is one of passion, perseverance, and a deep love for beauty and fashion. Originating from the bustling coastal city of Alexandria, Egypt, Mennatallah's journey into the world of beauty began at a young age. She was enamored with fashion, beauty, and skincare, which laid the foundation for her future endeavors. Her early foray into the beauty industry saw her working as a makeup model. However, she soon realized the inconsistency in professional makeup services and took it upon herself to master the craft. After completing a makeup course, she began doing her own professional makeup, showcasing her skills and personal style. The turning point in her journey came when she moved to the UAE. Initially, she took a break from her passion but soon recognized the plethora of opportunities in Dubai, a city known for its dynamic and diverse culture. Encouraged by the vibrant environment, she ventured into covering events, reviewing products, and collaborating with beauty shops. Although her initial efforts were intermittent, Mennatallah resolved to pursue her passion full-time, aiming to make a significant mark in the influencing and blogging world. Mennatallah speaks highly of the fashion and beauty culture in the Middle East, particularly in Alexandria, where trends ignite quickly and spread like wildfire. She credits the region’s rich tradition in fashion for her inspiration, mentioning renowned designers like Hani Al-Bahiri, who are well-known for their exquisite bridal gowns. Living in Dubai has most definitely offered Mennatallah a unique advantage. Unlike the conservative nature of Egypt, Dubai's openness and diversity provide her with the freedom to explore and express her creativity. This freedom, she believes, is a significant factor in her growth as an influencer . The influencer industry in Dubai, she notes, is vibrant yet seasonal, with different times of the year bringing varying levels of activity based on religious and cultural festivals. Mennatallah’s love for Indian cinema is another interesting facet of her personality. A devoted fan of Bollywood, she fondly recalls skipping school to watch movies and can name films just by their scripts. Her admiration for actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Hrithik Roshan adds a touch of global culture to her local Egyptian and Emirati experiences. Looking ahead, Mennatallah is heavily focused on expanding her influence in the Gulf region. She plans to take courses to understand social media algorithms better and aims to grow her follower base significantly. Her ultimate goal is to establish a strong presence in the UAE before potentially returning to the competitive market in Egypt with a well-established profile. Mennatallah's journey from beauty to fashion is a testament to her dedication and resilience. Her story is not just about personal success but also about the broader narrative of pursuing one's passion in a rapidly changing world. As she continues to evolve and make her mark, Mennatallah Ali stands as an inspiring figure for aspiring influencers and content creators everywhere. - Dear Earth
SOCIETY by Anushka Singh Dear Earth 1 October 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Dear Earth, I hope you’re doing fine. It has been an extended time since we last talked. To be honest, I feel wordless. It’s one of those dilemmas where we have got an entire ocean of thoughts inside us but we feel clueless of how to let it flow. We’ve been here before for countless times, the crisis chats, arguments, disputes, tears, promises and plenty more. But now, it’s different. Now I understand why they say: “It’s not you, it’s me.” I loved you from the instant I became capable of even understanding words like these. I saw your unequaled beauty, your tenderness and warmth, your soothing and diligently devoting nature. Although you never reacted to my ceaseless vents, you continued to make me feel the solace around you that I felt nowhere else. And, I am thankful. You have always been there, making me feel the very fact that I am not alone, through your littlest of efforts. Nightly, when I’ve spent hours watching the sky trying not to feel sad, you made me feel your presence. Every sundown, after I sat on the waterfront admiring your charm, the wind kissed my cheeks. I do know it surely was you, notifying that you love me back. I muse on all the content times we humans explored your magnificent mountains and endless seas; after we lazed in your sun, pacified by your pleasing breeze. I always hoped for these precious moments which are so near my heart, to never end. Over the years, I have tried to carry out my part of promises. I assumed multiple times, why do you even need me or people to talk on your behalf if you are the one to create us in the first place. I wasn’t sure if it was just another trick of yours to make people act or you were just terrified of something. I feel apologetic to admit, I didn’t even ask you. You were and you have always been my ally, my best friend and I like a stupid, just assumed that I knew what was best. I guess that is the point, isn’t it? You kept trying to speak. To me, to people, to the universe. We just took it light enough for you to destroy yourself. But today, I accept. It isn’t you, it’s me; it’s us. The reason i’m writing this letter is because I have realised something. It’s not you who needs the saving, it’s me. It’s me and us, the humans. We humans, who try to become the hero for you, forgot that you don’t actually need one. In those magnificent mountains and endless seas, lies the flair for us to nourish, clothe and foster ourselves, without limit. Your warm sun and pleasing breeze can give us the energy to learn, work and prosper over a lifetime. You’ve always been there helping us literally survive and live. You have been there in every way that you could but when came our turn, we backed off. We became selfish as we are. Dear earth, here I am. Here I am, apologizing on behalf of the whole civilization and human race, for destroying all that you gave us with all of your love. I am sorry, for the things that i could not stop and the things i am unable to change anymore. Please know, all of me loves all of you regardless of anything. It’s just that you won the game of proving yourself and I failed. Yours truly, Someone who is really sorry. SEARCH Why India is the most depressed country in the world?
