- A Brief History on Alexander McQueen
A Brief History on Alexander McQueen by Akash Khatri A Brief History on Alexander McQueen 1 January 2021 FASHION Advertisement If you are fond of premium fashion labels and well aware of the high-level fashion brands then you must be well acquainted with the Alexander McQueen label. The first genuine curiosity for the ones who are not familiar with this name would be who is Alexander McQueen? Alexander McQueen was a famous British fashion designer who brought a revolution in the fashion industry with his rebellious fashion innovations back in the 1980s. He got himself in the fashion industry quite early in his life but soon his flamboyant and out-of-the-box and bold fashion styles brought him under the spotlight. McQueen’s early runway collections developed his reputation for controversy and shock tactics with trousers aptly named “bumsters” and a collection titled “Highland Rape”. These collections had also made people from the Brit fashion industry cringe, but eventually, his talent prevailed, and he became known for his dramatic and extraordinary fashion shows and cat-walks which were sheer head-turners for everyone. He was also one of the first fashion designers who worked with Indian models in London. Some of McQueen’s accomplishments included being one of the youngest designers to achieve the title “British Designer of the Year”, which he won four times between 1996 and 2003 also he was into a partnership deal with the Gucci group and his own label which he founded in the year 1992. By the end of the year 2007, McQueen had his own fashion house established in the cities of London, New York, Los Angeles, Milan, and Las Vegas. Coming to his personal life, he was gay and quite vocal about his sexuality and he never hid anything from the world. But in his later life, he became addicted to drugs and even was depressed. In February 2010 he hanged himself in his home in London and left the entire world in shock and remorse. His psychologists said that he was into depression for three years consecutively and as an escapade, he was into heavy drugs. At the time of Alexander McQueen’s death, he had an eighty percent finished Autumn/Winter collection. 16 pieces of this collection were presented during Paris Fashion Week on 8 March 2010 as a tribute to this great fashion designer. - Reflecting on Our World’s Billionaires Despite Corona
SOCIETY By Aparajita Jaiswal Reflecting on Our World’s Billionaires Despite Corona 27 July 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement The coronavirus has hit the global economy hard and that includes even the richest people in the world. Forbes recently published its annual list of billionaires and found that the number of billionaires has dropped significantly because of the pandemic. Even among those still on the list, more than half saw their wealth decrease since the pandemic. There were 2,095 billionaires on the list when it was finalized on March 18, according to the business website. That was 58 fewer billionaires than last year and 226 fewer than at the beginning of the month, Forbes reported. Of course, with the markets in flux because of the coronavirus, each billionaire’s net worth also fluctuates depending on the day. Despite this, Jeff Bezos, 56, still stands to be the richest man in the world, despite transferring a quarter of his Amazon stake to his ex-wife MacKenzie last summer, according to Forbes. He was worth $113 billion on March 18. Coronavirus has led Jeff Bezos to donate $100M to feed hungry Americans. Bezos’ gift was the largest single donation Feeding America has ever received. “Today, I want to support those on the front lines at our nation’s food banks and those who are relying on them for food with a $100 million gift to @FeedingAmerica,” Bezos wrote on Instagram. Despite the plight of the world and the ongoing economic effect of the coronavirus crisis, billionaires in the U.S. have seen their wealth increase by over $406 billion in the past month. Other billionaires who have seen their wealth grow amid the pandemic include Tesla CEO Elon Musk — also by nearly $10 billion since January 1. In that time, Zoom founder Eric Yuan has added $3.5 billion to his net worth at $7.4 billion, thanks to the popularity of his video conferencing software in lockdown. Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has added more than $4 billion to his fortune. #JeffBezosBezosCoronavirusInstagramTeslaTeslaCEOElonMuskElonMuskMacKenzieZoomfounderEricYuanFormerMicrosoftCEOSteveBallmerBillionForbesPandemicWealthBillionaireFeedingAmerica SEARCH Women Empowerment A mere concept or a real Concern SOCIETY Looking Through The Excellence Of ‘Jaali’ Architecture SOCIETY Why the Gender Pay Gap is Wide and Disturbing SOCIETY Festival of Stones SOCIETY The Pygmalion Effect SOCIETY POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement By Anushka Sharma Uniting Voices, Shaping Futures: Dive Into Mun 2.0 At NIT Patna 8 September 2024 SOCIETY By Anushka Sharma These Healthy Habits Can Lower Your Risk Of Depression 31 August 2024 SOCIETY By Rini Pathak A Glance In The Kshitij’23: A Euphoric Escapade 26 January 2024 SOCIETY By Rini Pathak Mithibai Kshitij: Epitome Of Diverse Social Cause Empowerment 24 January 2024 SOCIETY RELATED POSTS

- Alexandra Victoria Bonte: From Olympic Dreams To Empowering Women Through Real Estate
Alexandra Victoria Bonte: From Olympic Dreams To Empowering Women Through Real Estate By Sakshi Batra Alexandra Victoria Bonte: From Olympic Dreams To Empowering Women Through Real Estate 7 January 2025 FASHION Advertisement Alexandra Victoria Bonte , a former equestrian champion, turned her competitive spirit into entrepreneurial success at just 23. As co-founder of Bonte Filipidis Real Estate Agency and partner in the Golden Real Estate Investment Fund, she’s redefining luxury living in Portugal, Ibiza, and the French Riviera. Driven by her love for architecture and design, and guided by her motto, “Credere... Lottare... Vincere...” (Believe... Strive... Conquer...), Alexandra’s journey is a testament to passion and perseverance. From Olympic dreams to building a real estate empire, her story is one of resilience, empowerment, and visionary leadership. From Athlete To Entrepreneur To Influencer "My journey has been a rollercoaster of ambition and reinvention “she mentioned. “As an athlete training for the Olympics, I experienced the heartbreak of shattered dreams”. That moment pushed her to pivot and channel her energy into business. Real estate had caught her attention as a niche waiting to be tapped, prices were low, and she saw an upcoming boom driven by global experts. As her business grew, so did her passion for fashion. She adores the artistry of cities like Paris, Milan, London, and Los Angeles, where architecture and trends collide beautifully. “Dressing well is an extension of who you are - it’s a statement of confidence, much like her real estate agency, which celebrates strong, trendsetting women” she says. Championing Women Empowerment Empowering women is the cornerstone of her philosophy. Having grown up in Portugal, where she witnessed cultural chauvinism firsthand, lower salaries and fewer opportunities for women there she decided to challenge the narrative by building a team that primarily employs women, showing that women are just as capable as men. It was never about being a feminist for her but about achieving equality in the workforce. Unfortunately, “Gender disparities still exist in Portugal and beyond” she exclaimed. Rising Above The Challenges Talking about the challenges she mentioned that COVID-19 was a significant test for her. “While the real estate agency was gaining momentum, the pandemic hit, halting everything - marketing, property showings, even day-to-day operations. Our business collapsed, like many others”. But she believed “Adversity breeds creativity”. During that downtime, she leaned into social media, creating content that blended properties with a lifestyle narrative. It was a game-changer for her which not only helped her stay connected with clients but also redefined how they presented their brand. That period taught her the power of adaptability. Fashion That Defines Alexandra Bonte’s Style "I love mixing vintage pieces with modern trends—blazers are my ultimate staple”. Chanel’s timeless elegance is her favorite, and she admires the classic French style as much as the all-American Ralph Lauren look. She gravitates towards prêt-à-porter pieces that flatters her figure without being too revealing—classic yet understated. When it comes to colors, she doesn’t have strict preferences; she simply chooses the shades that complement her complexion and hair at that moment. “My style isn’t just about following trends but about incorporating timeless vintage elements into my wardrobe” she says. Her wardrobe focuses on quality over quantity – The pieces that endures time and trends. Inside Alexandra Bonte’s Signature Instagram Style Secrets "Well, I can’t reveal all my secrets! But I’ll say this - haircare plays a pivotal role”, she exclaimed with a smile. She invests in structured treatments to keep her hair healthy and vibrant. As for styling, it’s about balance and refinement. Her goal is to create looks that feel effortless yet put-together. Shaping The Future: Alexandra Bonte’s Exciting Upcoming Projects One of the projects that she is most passionate about is unfolding in Africa—a sustainable smart city in Nigeria. “This venture is not just about infrastructure; it’s about creating a future that empowers communities and champions women’s leadership” she mentioned. “At the heart of this project is a focus on women empowerment, sustainability, and holistic development. From schools and hospitals to offices, malls, and theatres, it’s designed to be a complete ecosystem that redefines modern living.” For her, this is more than just a career milestone—"It’s a meaningful contribution to Africa’s growth and a testament to the transformative power of women-led initiatives." Redefining Success, Empowering Women, And Shaping The Future Alexandra Victoria Bonte’s journey is nothing short of extraordinary. From Olympic dreams to building a luxury real estate empire, she has proven that resilience and passion can turn setbacks into triumphs. As a trailblazer in her field and a champion of women’s empowerment, Alexandra is rewriting the rules of success. With bold ventures like her sustainable smart city in Africa, she’s not just shaping skylines—she’s inspiring a new generation to dream big, break barriers, and lead with purpose. - Sneak Peek into Restaurant Kitchens
by Aparajita Jaiswal Sneak Peek into Restaurant Kitchens 6 July 2022 FOOD Advertisement Advertisement Should you or should you not look behind the restaurant kitchen doors You are celebrating your promotion at work at your favorite restaurant and you have ordered a tasty, locally grown organic meal. You indulge completely to savor your food, while feeling good that your life appears to be just perfect. What could be better? Well, as a starter: the conditions in which your food is prepared. Food with attitude is okay, but food with hygiene is rather more important. Ever wondered whether or not the food, we tend to treat ourselves with at restaurants, is prepared maintain the standard conditions of cleanliness and hygiene? Ever thought of having a sneak peek into the kitchen of your favorite restaurant and say Hi to the chefs? Maybe you should, once in a while. Good food is definitely good vibes until you get sick because of the low standard of cleanliness and hygiene at restaurants and eateries. Catching food infections at a restaurant is the worst nightmares of their guests, more commonly evident in children. Customers would obviously wish to dine in a restaurant that serves hygienic food and focuses on cleanliness. The point of concern here now is how do we decide which of the restaurant serves hygienic food and which of them do not maintain the standard hygiene conditions. As a usual ideology, it is assumed that the high standard five start restaurants serve the most hygienic food and maintain high standard cleanliness. Provided the fact that the entire staff of such a restaurant is well qualified and considerably trained, justifies such an image of the restaurant in people’s minds. People usually prefer the high standard and obviously expensive restaurants over the shabby, précised or pinpoint restaurants with a moderate yet considerable ambience and quality services. This preferentiality is due to the assumption of the fact that the more you pay, the higher quality of services you avail and thus the food served must be hygienic enough. The actual fact might be that you end up paying for the ambience and services provided more than over the food served. Must give this a thought! Taking the quality of food served and hygiene maintained into consideration, there is always a chance that due to such high maintenance of the 5-star restaurants, they have an access to well-furnished technology as well. There are always freezers which help them store food for longer period of time. In fact, the food served in all the franchises of large and renowned brands, have a supply of their raw materials, always in a frozen form. Nobody would actually want to eat something that is in the refrigerator of the house for a day or two, but readily enjoy such meals in the restaurants. Street foods, highly enjoyed and populous among the young, is considered to be oily and unhygienic by many. Several videos and pictures of the unhygienic conditions in which street food is prepared are timely circulated over the social media. People here tend to be very aware and concerned about the hygiene maintained and threaten the owners of small stalls by recording their videos and posting over the social media negative review or feedback. However, the fact that a considerable proportion of the entire population within a metropolitan city relies upon the street food cannot be taken for granted. What else could make the best example, but the Vada Pav in Mumbai is a staple diet for everyone, be it employees, strugglers or anyone as such. Do people here talk about hygiene? Obviously not! Is your health adversely effected by Vada Pav? Obviously not! It is not all about the quality of services provided, the fact that these street foods are freshly prepared everyday and you can actually witness the food being prepared and immediately served is what makes it safe. The fact to thus understand is that the points to consider while choosing which restaurant to dine in, shouldn’t just the ambience or the quality of service provided but the quality of food, the raw materials used, the steps taken by the cooks and serving staff to maintain hygiene and of course the freshness of the food served. You cannot form a general opinion regarding the hygiene conditions of restaurants based upon the hierarchy of restaurants. The places like food stalls can serve hygienic food as well. The high standard restaurants and at times fail to do so as well and vice versa. You, as a consumer need to wisely choose among all these restaurants. Make sure that you dine to be healthy and fine. - Meet Ishmeet Kaur, The Winner of Mrs. India World 2024
Meet Ishmeet Kaur, The Winner of Mrs. India World 2024 By Sakshi Batra Meet Ishmeet Kaur, The Winner of Mrs. India World 2024 17 December 2024 FASHION Advertisement Journey of Ishmeet Kaur Ishmeet Kaur - Mrs. India World 2024, For me it was not only a journey of determination, passion and self-belief but also a heart full of gratitude. From a childhood rooted in love and support to challenging societal norms, my journey to becoming Mrs. India World goes beyond the crown. It’s a celebration of inner strength, resilience, and the belief that true beauty comes from within. “I’m not just taking away cherished memories with my sister queens, but also the title that has shaped my journey”. “These 7 days have been more than just an experience, they have been a journey of growth, friendship and empowerment, rather than a competition”. "The lessons learned, the bonds formed, and the unforgettable moments will forever remain with me, serving as a constant reminder of the strength and beauty we all hold within." Source of Inspiration When asked about my biggest source of support, “I credit my mother as my guiding light from being my constant support through thick and thin whenever I felt like giving up, she became my strength and reminded me to keep chasing my dreams until I achieve them”. With her unwavering support, I am who I am today. Her guidance helped me overcome every hurdle that came my way. The crown I wear is not merely a symbol of victory—it embodies my hard work, passion, and self-belief. I didn’t just chase my dreams, I lived them. On the other hand, I often see parents not supporting their child's career choices. To them, my advice is simple: “Never give up on your dreams”. Stay true to your passion and trust your journey. If you remain authentic to yourself and your aspirations, then sky’s the limit. "If you follow your heart with determination, success will undoubtedly find its way to you." The best part of my journey has been the unwavering support of not just my mother, but my entire family and my partner, who stood as my pillars of strength in achieving my dreams. Their only advice to me was simple yet profound: stay true to who you are, and always remain humble and grounded with your fellow contestants. “They mentioned that true beauty comes within and that should reflect through my actions”. The Changing Phase of Pageantry I believe that the world has been undergoing a shift, moving away from the traditional beliefs and stereotypical norms, the days are gone when beauty pageants were just about perfect figures and dazzling smiles but in today’s scenario women with different body shapes and sizes are respected and are being welcomed “Today, the pageants celebrate authenticity and individuality” and the focus has also expanded to inner beauty, confidence, intelligence & social awareness rather than just physical appearance. These days “pageants are embracing diversity in terms of ethnicities, backgrounds, age, sexuality and gender identity”. Pageants now place more emphasis on contestants' intelligence, social awareness and community involvement. Winners are often expected to be role models and advocates for social causes”. This shift reflects a broader, more inclusive vision of beauty. However, the path to success is never easy. “Indian women face many societal restrictions, making it hard to build a career, they must navigate countless obstacles and negotiate at every step to overcome the challenges in their path”. But by participating in Mrs. India World, I feel I have broken stereotypes and shown that no dream is impossible, regardless of marital status. Life Lessons Among the many rounds in the pageant, “My favourite was the personal interview round”. It was a truly special moment that I will cherish for a lifetime, as it gave me the opportunity to connect with each judge one-on-one. “Their humility and inspiring guidance left a lasting impression on me”. Power of confidence & Self-belief What sets me apart from others is not beauty with brains, it was my bolstering confidence, determination and self-belief that got me here and stood me out from everyone else. “I would suggest everyone to follow their heart and not give heat to negative perspectives”. I can't deny that there were moments when I wanted to take a break, do nothing, and just relax. But then I had a self-realisation “I was fortunate enough to be selected among so many talented and brilliant women”. It was a golden opportunity that I couldn’t afford to miss, especially with my dreams so close to being realised. This deep realisation pushed me to stay focused and true to my passion. “It reignited the fire in me to work hard and pursue my dreams with full dedication and honesty”. Favourite Cuisine Even the strict dieters have cravings and for me, it’s Chinese food. "If I had to choose a cheat meal, it would definitely be my favourite Chinese dishes - I just can’t resist them!" Celebrating Talent & Creativity I would be incredibly proud to judge the pageant, and if given the opportunity to create my own round, “I would choose a talent round where all participants could showcase their unique abilities”. Whether it’s singing, dancing, poetry, drama, or any other talent, this round would offer each contestant the chance to express their creativity and passion. “I believe it would provide them with an opportunity to truly shine in something they love, creating a beautiful, personal, and inspiring experience." Redefining Success Ishmeet’s journey is a powerful reminder that success is not just about achievements, but about breaking barriers and staying true to oneself. "Dreams take effort, and sometimes they need a push," but the beauty of the journey lies in overcoming challenges and letting your inner light shine. - The Rich Heritage of Indian Handloom
The Rich Heritage of Indian Handloom by Yashi Srivastava The Rich Heritage of Indian Handloom 15 December 2022 FASHION Advertisement India is a land of traditions that go thousands of years back. From Ayurveda to Yoga and festivals, even buttons, exhibit Her glorious culture, and a splendour that my country really is! Amongst the many spectacular factors that help India stand out from the western countries is the way Indians dressed – back in time. So, when we talk about Indian attire, there is no way that we wouldn’t talk about the exuberance that flow from the oldest Indian fabric used for weaving attires – handloom! Before the Britishers took over our beautiful country, Indians wore attired made only from handloom fabric. So, yes, the history and heritage of Indian handloom goes way back in time and in this article, we shall throw some light on the rich history of Indian handloom. What is handloom? Handloom was originally a variety of wooden frames used by artisans to weave fabrics out of them. The fabrics usually came from natural fibre including cotton, wool, jute, silk, etc. The procedure involved spinning the yarn followed by coloring to weaving the fabric on the loom – the final product came to be known as handloom. The history of Indian handloom – Early Days The history of Indian handloom takes us back to the Indus Valley civilization, when the first evidence of the fabric came up. Ancient India was the only producer of raw cotton and even exported the same to other countries, including Rome, China, and European nations. In fact, back in the time, every village in the country has its own weavers who spent hours in making attires like saree and dhoti to fulfil the clothing needs of the villagers. The beauty of the time was that the Indian handloom, in its beginning, was the purest material and the same showed when people wore it. The history of Indian handloom – The Gandhian Era Even though India enjoyed a golden phase of handloom heritage, its popularity went down once British took over the country. In order to increase the consumption and production of the yarn, Britishers used violence and coercion on the workers and weavers. The machine-made imported yarn made it difficult for the poor workers to keep up with the production, and thus, led to the downfall of the fabric. Most workers started working for the middlemen and traders, and the authenticity of Indian handloom shook to the core. However, during the Gandhian era, the age of handlooms was revived through Swadeshi Movement, where Mahatma Gandhi re-introduced the spinning wheel or ‘charkha’ to continue the production of khadi products. Since every Indian was involved in spinning the ‘charkha,’ the economy of the country saw a massive upgrade! People burnt the imported clothes and wore khadi everywhere, which even led to closing of mills in Manchester. The history of Indian handloom – Post Independence Even after India earned Her independence, textile industry continued to bloom and different weaving styles and fabrics were introduced. Even though, handloom didn’t rise exactly as high as it did before British colonisation, it was still widely used. The beauty of Indian handloom today Today, the cost of natural fibre is blowing by leaps and bounds because most people are not interested in buying the same these days. Most Indians prefer cheaper fabric and don’t really connect with the rich heritage of Indian handlooms. Khadi products, today, have a high cost, in comparison to other materials, and thus, not many regular people in India can afford to buy the fabric. Even so, the beauty of Indian handloom is unmatchable and still boasts of rich tradition and glorious past of our country. Even though the original Indian handloom cannot compete with the poly-mixed products that are way cheaper, the timelessness of handloom will always carry the hard work and skills of Indian craftsman from the past. Conclusion It is all right to say that the popularity of Indian handloom is only vanishing since the time we earned independence. The beautiful handloom deserves a place in the present as much as it did in the past. So, let’s work our bit to bring the true Indian attire back into business. Blob - The beauty of Indian handloom is such that goes back to the Indus Valley civilization, and even though, it faces tough competition from the poly-mix fibre today, the fabric has withheld a place of its own. - Most Colorful Cities In The World - why you should visit them?
by Priti Sharma by Priti Sharma Most Colorful Cities In The World - why you should visit them? 16 February 2023 TRAVEL Advertisement Advertisement Color makes life better, and travelers may discover the world's most colorful locations while traveling. The world's most vibrant sites may be found in busy metropolises and unspoiled natural settings. International cities greet tourists with a dash of color, creating fantastic picture opportunities and vistas, from unique mural artwork to the brilliant colors of skyscrapers. What attributes make a city beautiful? It relies on a number of variables, including the environment, architectural style, cleanliness, tranquility, and population. Additionally essential to a city's remarkable beauty are the colors. The eight cities with the most color in the world are listed below. 1. Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada: The oldest incorporated city in Canada dates back to 1785 and is located in the province of New Brunswick. Saint John City is well known for its downtown row houses that are painted in vibrant colors. It is one of the city's most well-liked tourist destinations. Jellybean Row refers to the row of colorful homes in Saint John's downtown. According to legend, residents of Saint John's used to paint their homes in vivid hues to maintain their attractiveness even during foggy conditions. Every house on the street is painted a different color, as you can see. Your trip on the city's walking tour will undoubtedly be one you never forget. 2. Chefchaouen, Morocco: Due to its isolation, the Blue City of Morocco has been cut off from the outside world for over a millennium. But why is it that color? Depending on who you ask, there are several explanations for why the Moroccan town of Chefchaouen is blue. Some claim that it is because of Jewish mysticism, while others assert that the blue tones are a naturally occurring mosquito repellant since they are found in the hills where the town was established. Chefchaouen is one of the world's most colorful towns, regardless of why it is blue. 3. Bo-Kaap, Cape Town, South Africa: Bo-Kaap in Cape Town has a vivid past. The Dutch brought many slaves to Cape Town throughout the 16th and 17th centuries from Malaysia, Indonesia, and various African nations. The enslaved were referred to as "Cape Malays." Several homes were constructed in this region in about 1760 and leased to the slaves. Later, the former slaves acquired the homes and painted them in vivid hues to symbolize their joy and liberation. Cape Town's Bo-Kaap neighborhood is situated at the base of Signal Hill and is rich in history and color. This residential neighborhood is well known for its vividly colored homes and winding pathways made of cobblestones. These residences showcase a fusion of Georgian and Dutch architectural designs. 4. Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India: The second-largest city in Rajasthan, India, is Jodhpur, popularly referred to as "The Blue City." The vibrant blue-washed homes in the old town are the source of the city's name. India was decades ahead of Morocco from one blue town to the next, despite the fact that Jodhpur's blue colors had a less than happy history. Electric blue buildings were historically designated for the "higher classes" and were originally painted as a part of the caste system. The custom, however, gradually spread across the town, turning the ruins of the cobalt buildings into a genuine tourist destination as well as a useful remedy for the oppressive heat. 5. Willemstad, Curacao The capital city of Curacao, Willemstad, is renowned for being a city with a rich cultural legacy. Rich in history, both public and private structures exhibit vibrant and often very beautiful architecture. In fact, the city is home to 750 vibrant structures in all. Historic structures may be found throughout Willemstad, many of which are notable for their use of Dutch architectural design. These beautiful, colorful structures, which date to the 17th century, draw hundreds of visitors each year. 6. Burano, Venice, Italy: Burano's multicoloured mansions have an intriguing truth. In the past, Burano's primary source of revenue was fishing. The fisherman had trouble identifying their cottages throughout the winter due to the dense fog. So they made the decision to paint their homes a variety of hues. The coloring custom in Burano is thought to have begun as a result of this occurrence. Today, you can notice that Burano's houses have a specific color scheme. In Burano, there is a clearly laid out procedure for painting homes. Let's say you live in the village and enjoy painting your house. Sending the government a formal request should be your first step. They will notify you which color you are permitted to paint your home. Interesting right? 7. Busan, South Korea The Gamcheon cultural hamlet is the main reason to place Busan at the top of your bucket list for Korea, despite the fact that it nearly often takes a back seat to Seoul. One of the most "Instagrammable" locations on the Korean peninsula, and maybe the whole globe, is a hillside covered in vibrant dwellings that people frequently compare to stacked legos. If this is on your trip wish list, you must visit it. 8. Santorini, Greece: Two colors are likely to spring to mind when you think of the Greek island of Santorini: white, which is the color of many buildings' walls, and blue, which also serves as the color of the island's dazzling Ionian Sea and many of its roofs. The city of Oia's building facades really contain a variety of other hues, but because the blues and whites are so striking, it's simple to get distracted by them. Take your photos on a clear day at dusk, when the prismatic sky sheds its brilliant light over the darkening metropolis, to fully enjoy Oia's beautiful rainbow. These were a handful of the ones we chose, and we're confident they'll make you grin. Make it a point to visit these locations, and prepare to be surrounded by every color of the rainbow. - Coping with Confinement
SOCIETY by Akash Khatri Coping with Confinement 26 July 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement The earlier days of the pandemic caused a furore and great hullabulla. Great chaos everywhere, no school, no maids, work from home and still ambiguous about the situation ahead as we approach towards the end of lockdown four. During this whole topsy turvy journey gradually it seems we have become more human. A transition from a dependant to a more independent working – subtracting the maids and a more gadget-free atmosphere. During this whole transition period, I treasured dormant talent of my personality, as I could steal some time for trying out solo singing, penning down my thoughts to create short stories, experimenting in the kitchen and even nailed the unusual skill of giving men a haircut. Today I had lessons of stitching from my mom-in-law and found that it’s not that tedious and tricky as I had thought, of course, one needs to be lucky to have a good teacher beside you as my MIL is. I tried my hand on tailoring too, thanks to the lockdown. All and all it’s so much fun being indoors with family, doing crazy things and enjoying the nearness, attention as well as helping hand of the spouse. Above all, the level of tolerance has reached its acme and this habit I would always wish could be deep-rooted within me forever. At last, it took a microscopic-organism to make us more human. #LockdownPandemicIndependentConfinement SEARCH Women Empowerment A mere concept or a real Concern SOCIETY Looking Through The Excellence Of ‘Jaali’ Architecture SOCIETY Why the Gender Pay Gap is Wide and Disturbing SOCIETY Festival of Stones SOCIETY The Pygmalion Effect SOCIETY POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement By Anushka Sharma Uniting Voices, Shaping Futures: Dive Into Mun 2.0 At NIT Patna 8 September 2024 SOCIETY By Anushka Sharma These Healthy Habits Can Lower Your Risk Of Depression 31 August 2024 SOCIETY By Rini Pathak A Glance In The Kshitij’23: A Euphoric Escapade 26 January 2024 SOCIETY By Rini Pathak Mithibai Kshitij: Epitome Of Diverse Social Cause Empowerment 24 January 2024 SOCIETY RELATED POSTS
