- Neon Nights And Yellow Lights: The Sonic World Of Natania Lalwani
Neon Nights And Yellow Lights: The Sonic World Of Natania Lalwani By Shriniwas Kodape Neon Nights And Yellow Lights: The Sonic World Of Natania Lalwani 30 April 2025 COVER STORIES Advertisement I’ve always believed that music — the good kind, the gut-punch kind — is made by people who don’t quite belong anywhere. People with one foot in the door, one foot out on the fire escape, ready to bolt the minute the conversation gets boring. And somewhere out there in that beautifully disoriented space lives Natania Lalwani . Now, here’s a voice that doesn’t just drift through your headphones. No, this is the kind of voice that crawls up the back of your neck, plants itself in your bloodstream, and stays there. It’s not clean, it’s not tidy, and thank god for that. It’s jagged, restless, dipped in heartbreak and late-night neon, like a love letter you’re too afraid to send. Born in the buzzing chaos of Mumbai and living under the hazy sun-bleached sprawl of Los Angeles, Natania’s music exists in a place where maps don’t work. You can try to pin her down with genre labels, diaspora clichés, Spotify playlist tags — go ahead, the industry certainly has — but she’ll slip through your fingers every damn time. And that, dear reader, is exactly why we wanted her in this issue. We live in a time when too many artists are pre-packaged, algorithm-approved, made for TikTok virality, and 30-second hooks. Everything is safe, synthetic, and sterilized for mass consumption. But Natania’s work? It bleeds. It bruises. It sounds like somebody is still chasing the ghost of their younger self down rain-slick streets. Her track “Gulzar” isn’t just a song — it’s a mood, a state of mind, the soundtrack to those hazy, half-remembered conversations with people you’ll probably never see again. Pro Tip: Don’t play “Gulzar” when you’re trying to be emotionally numb. It has a way of cracking something open in you — making you feel like you’ve stumbled onto the closing scene of a film you didn’t know you were starring in. Don’t say we didn’t warn you. What gets me — what always gets me — is that she’s not trying to be anything other than what she is. A woman caught between cities, between identities, between the version of herself the world expects and the one she’s still figuring out. And she’s making art in that blurred space, turning confusion into melody, fear into rhythm. That’s not just music. That’s survival. Before the label deals, the TV soundtracks , the ad campaigns and the Spotify checks, it was just her — a girl in her bedroom with a guitar, a laptop, and a head full of sounds no one else could hear yet. That’s the stuff we should be chasing. The raw, unfinished, stubbornly personal things. The kind of music you play alone at night, long after the city’s gone to sleep, when it’s just you and whatever ghosts you haven’t managed to shake. This feature isn’t here to slap a ‘next big thing’ sticker on her. Screw that. It’s here because in a year where everything feels engineered and overproduced, Natania Lalwani reminds us that some things still come from the gut, from the dark, from the unlit corners of our heads where the good stories hide. Side Note: If you’re wondering why we’re so obsessed with this " gut instinct " thing, it’s because in a world where everyone’s selling something, it’s the only thing that’s still free. She’s not just making Indian pop music. Or LA indie pop. Or cross-cultural, genre-bending “content.” She’s making Natania music . And that’s exactly what we need. So raise a glass, light a cigarette, put on the record, whatever your vice — and listen closely. - If you can dream it, you can achieve it – In conversation with Donal Bisht
If you can dream it, you can achieve it – In conversation with Donal Bisht by Aadhya Venkatesh If you can dream it, you can achieve it – In conversation with Donal Bisht 21 August 2022 COVER STORIES Advertisement As a big believer in dreaming big and working hard to achieve your dreams, Donal Bisht was a Journalist and Anchor who pursued her dream of acting and modelling. In college, her seniors pursuing film studies always called her to work in their short films and music videos. Despite being pushed towards being an actor, Donal believed she wanted to pursue the media industry and work as a journalist. She even established herself in the field with a four-year-long career but eventually realised that "the work did not make my heart happy and did not satisfy me". It was then that she dropped everything and came to Mumbai to pursue her passion for acting. "I really believe in destiny". She has been in the show business for five years and has only been climbing the ladder of success. Having started with TV shows, Donal did four years of back-to-back TV with shows like Ek Deewana Tha and Roop . She then realised that to achieve creative satisfaction, she had to do something different. "I did a South bilingual film in Kannada and Telugu. The shift, I would say creatively, is great when you do different things", she said. She never knew Telugu and didn't have any exposure to the language. But after multiple workshops and extra efforts on sets, she managed to get well versed in the dialogues and expressions. "I used to keep the first AD with me to do the lines thoroughly, in and out". She broke through the language barrier and had her proud moment when people asked her if she was a natural Telugu speaker. Now that her film is in the post-production stage, Donal is excited to see herself in the role. Once her film was on the verge of completion, she entered the Big Boss house and became one of the most respected contestants in her two weeks there. "People come to me and say they want to become like me and love my personality". Having done four back to back soap shows, she now wants to venture into the world of web shows, which she is doing through her MX player original Show, Zakhm. Zakhm is a "romantic thriller show where I play Kavya, a healer who heals people's wounds". She is excited about the release of the show. Donal is also a TEDx speaker and always urges her fans to dream. "Dreaming is very important. If you can dream, you can achieve". She says that once a person has an unrelenting dream that they strive to achieve, persistence will take them forward on their journey. Those who dream can achieve whatever they aspire to. The one mantra she follows in life is to leave no stone unturned. She believes that persistence is critical and that a person should never stop. "First try to fly. If you can't fly, run. If you can't run, walk. If you can't walk, crawl, but you do the best". Running and Weight Lifting are her preferred modes of workout. She runs on the treadmill for 20 minutes a day and believes that fitness is what you eat, and one must take care of what suits them and what doesn't. Along with exercise, she also recommends her audiences watch their food intake and monitor what they eat because, more often than not, it is a particular fruit, vegetable, or seafood that causes allergies and bloating. "Observe your body and the way it reacts to food". Donal's favourite travel destination is her family home in Delhi, where she goes for all significant occasions. Other than that, one place she hopes to visit soon is Paris, which is her second favourite place. #donalbisht #coverstory #interview #fashion #actress SEARCH A Journey Shaped By Courage, Creativity, And Social Media With Aditi Sharma COVER STORIES Inner Joy Trails My Inspiration : A Candid Conversation With The Creative Anushka Kaushik COVER STORIES Barkha Singh’s candid candour makes the way to an eye-catching interview COVER STORIES Educate, Empower, Excel: Priyanka Chahar Choudhary's Inspirational Overture COVER STORIES Waluscha De Sousa On Being Her ‘True Self’ And Going On The Dream Journey COVER STORIES POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Shriniwas Kodape Tej Music Vodka: The DJ Turning Youth Culture Into a Moving Dancefloor 30 January 2026 COVER STORIES By Sakshi Shah Khushi Bhardwaj Is Growing Up On Screen, And Doing It Her Way 31 December 2025 COVER STORIES By Shriniwas Kodape The Eternal Strings Of Amaan & Ayaan Ali Bangash 4 October 2025 COVER STORIES By Anurag Sen Vivian Dsena: The Fluke Star Who Became Television’s Undying Heartthrob 25 September 2025 COVER STORIES RELATED POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement

Isha Kamal , an expert artist, provided a significant assessment of the talented participants who displayed their artistic caliber. The extremely talented judges’ panel brought along with them an abundance of expertise to provide appraisal and examine the spellbounding performances showcased by the young talents throughout the various events. A cherry on the cake was the enchanting enactment by the Magician who was able to mesmerize everyone and infuse a luminous radiance into the day. The Para Events was a huge success which demonstrated Mithibai Kshitij’s devotion towards the creation of a community that believes in equality and inclusivity of all individual students. The college is certain that this is not their last Para Event and promises to continue the milestone in the upcoming future too. - Exposing Skin Care Myths Through A Dermatologist
By Anushka Sharma By Anushka Sharma Exposing Skin Care Myths Through A Dermatologist 18 June 2024 BEAUTY Advertisement Advertisement Are you someone who spends a lot of time on social media, especially looking at skincare trends? I admit I've done that, and sometimes it leads to buying things I don't need. While some trends are good, others might not be so great for your skin. Here are five skincare trends you might have seen online that aren't as helpful as they seem: 1. Flax Seeds for Wrinkles: Have you seen people making masks with flax seeds to tighten their skin? Well, it might make your skin feel nice for a little while, but it's not like getting Botox. Botox actually relaxes certain muscles in your face, while flaxseed masks just hydrate your skin temporarily. 2. Garlic for Pimples: Some folks say eating garlic can clear up acne, but that's not entirely true. Garlic does have some good properties, but it won't magically make your pimples disappear. Using skincare ingredients like salicylic acid and niacinamide is a better bet. 3. Face Flooding for Oily Skin: If you've got oily skin, you might have heard about "face flooding" to give your skin extra moisture. But for some people, it just makes them look sweaty and can even cause more breakouts. It's not a one-size-fits-all solution. 4. Collagen Masks: Those masks that melt into your skin might look cool, but they don't do much for you. Collagen in skincare can't really get absorbed into your skin like that. It might make your skin feel hydrated, but that's about it. 5. SPF Madness: We've all heard that higher SPF means better protection from the sun, right? Well, not necessarily. Too much SPF can make your skin oily, and anything beyond SPF 50 doesn't add much extra protection. Plus, you still need to reapply it often. So, next time you see a skincare trend online, take it with a grain of salt. It's always best to talk to a dermatologist before trying something new on your skin. - Off Script, On Truth: Anshumaan Pushkar In His Own Words
Off Script, On Truth: Anshumaan Pushkar In His Own Words By Ananya Patankar Off Script, On Truth: Anshumaan Pushkar In His Own Words 30 June 2025 COVER STORIES Advertisement Anshumaan Pushkar’s screen characters may exude intensity and silence, but off-screen, he’s refreshingly open, often goofy, and endlessly curious. In this honest conversation, he reflects on finding his rhythm—from the small-town chaos of Mokama to monologues that moved the nation. “I wasn't the first choice—but I became the right one.” Anshumaan speaks like someone who knows exactly where he came from, what it took to get here, and why the work—not the noise around it—matters. No performance, no myth-making. Just an actor who started from nowhere, reflected from his past, and built a career by paying attention. To craft. To people. To the stillness in between. From a small town in Bihar, Ashumaan knew he was meant for greater things. He expresses that “The urge to express was always there. I wasn’t a quiet kid—I danced, I performed, I mimicked everyone.” There was no road-map, no exposure, no acting school. What’s astonishing is that nothing about his journey was designed for the life he has now. It was all instinct, all self-taught. And somehow, that’s what makes it all work. As a child, Anshumaan was driven by a restless need to express. He would dance at weddings, mimic actors, and even imitate his school teachers just to entertain those around him. “I used to lock myself in my room and copy Hrithik Roshan or Govinda,” he recalls. His mother would watch from the doorway, often laughing, sometimes amused, sometimes surprised—but never dismissive. “She saw it as silly, maybe even strange, but she never stopped me,” he says. Without formal training or a clear path, he built his early discipline alone—practising monologues during lockdowns, experimenting with gestures and voices, rehearsing in private, like it meant everything. And in many ways, it did. That early, obsessive dedication is what carried him to the sets he stands on today. He describes that coming from a small town, the film industry seems like a fantasy world. Anshuman was following the script everyone around him expected—“study, job, settle down”, this did not stop the spark inside him. Conveniently, when the time to choose where to do his MBA came, he picked Mumbai—not for the degree, but for proximity, at the Ekjute Theatre Group . He says, “Cinema was the only reason I chose Mumbai. I wanted to be near the industry, even if I wasn’t in it yet.” With great resilience Anshumaan sprinted towards his dreams, he expresses that “this was the moment I said to myself—enough of waiting on the sidelines. The stage is there. Now you have to be there. Somehow, anyhow.” His first major break came with Jamtara , a project he auditioned for in 2017. “I felt like this was the kind of character I wanted to do. It felt right,” he says. But the process wasn’t immediate—shooting didn’t begin until 2018, and the release took even longer. “There was a one-and-a-half-year wait after we finished shooting. That confusion, that silence—it was real.” During that gap, he held on to one thing: theatre. “Theatre never let me feel useless,” he says. “Even when nothing else was happening, getting recognized on stage, even by ten people, was enough to keep going.” His passion for the stagecraft just grew stronger no matter the hindrances. The storms Ashumaan weathered strengthened not only his resilience, but also his instincts as an actor. He explains “I like to experience the emotion of a character rather than just map it out intellectually.” He doesn’t separate technique from emotion—he blends them. “You mix your own soul into the words written on paper,” he says, “and somewhere in that process, the performance becomes real.” Anshumaan’s effort as an actor is to embody the soul of every character he plays. He reflects on what a director once advised him, “You’re pretending to feel it, but when you actually feel it, there’ll be no difference between you and the character.” That’s the standard he holds himself to now—an internal honesty that can’t be faked, and shouldn’t be. It’s this depth of commitment to performance that often blurs the line between actor and character—so much so that people assume he’s exactly like the roles he plays. He mentions that the audience often pictures him in reference to his characters, broody, serious, and intense, however on the contrary he is the complete opposite. Anshumaan admits that “In reality, I’m fun-loving, adventurous… sometimes even goofy.” He recalls that his work in Moonwalk gave him the chance to do something entirely different. It gave him a space to express his true self. The character was lighter, more playful, and far from what audiences expected of him. “It was a shift,” he says, “but I relied on instinct, leaned into the rhythm of it.” With little prep time, he improvised freely, found humour in the moment, and surprised even himself. “That set taught me you don’t always need control—sometimes, you just need presence.” That ability to stay present—to read a room, adapt, and react without overthinking—comes from a habit he’s had since childhood. “Observation is my biggest tool now,” he says. Whether it was mimicking teachers or studying how someone walked or spoke, he was always absorbing. “Earlier, it was imitation for fun. Now, it’s about understanding emotion. That’s what helps me build truth into a character.” He didn’t have legacy, training, or access—just sharp observation, relentless patience, and a belief that even a boy from Mokama could belong in cinema. Everything he knows, he’s learned by doing: watching actors with reverence, listening to directors like a student, and trusting the rhythm of his own instinct. “I don’t know how it became reality,” he says, thinking back to the boy who once danced in a locked room while his mother smiled at the door. “But I think he’d be proud.” And maybe that’s the most powerful thing about Anshumaan Pushkar—he doesn’t just honour his craft, he honors the quiet, persistent child who had faith in himself, to craft his dreams into reality. - Home Ingredients That Dermatologists Swear By
By Anushka Sharma By Anushka Sharma Home Ingredients That Dermatologists Swear By 19 June 2024 BEAUTY Advertisement Advertisement In the quest for healthy and radiant skin, many individuals turn to home ingredients as a natural, cost-effective alternative to expensive skincare products. However, experts emphasize the importance of understanding the root causes of skin issues before adopting any home remedies. Consulting a dermatologist can provide valuable insights into your skin’s specific needs and help you avoid ingredients that may do more harm than good. Most dermatologists offer a guide on the home ingredients that are safe and beneficial for your skin, and those that should be avoided. Safe and Effective Home Ingredients That Dermatologists Love: Turmeric: Known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Can be used in various forms: mixed with milk or water, as a scrub, or as a face pack. Helps achieve glowing, tan-free, and radiant skin. Aloe Vera Gel: Can be store-bought (check ingredients) or directly extracted from the plant. The latter is always better! Rejuvenates the skin and serves as a natural moisturizer. Effective in treating sunburn, cuts, and occasional pimples. Cucumber: Naturally refreshes the skin and reduces puffiness. Can be applied directly to the skin for a cooling effect. Rose Water: Acts as a toner and can be included in face packs. Cleanses and calms the skin, providing a soothing effect. Honey: Rich in antioxidants and possesses exfoliating, moisturizing, and skin-lightening properties. Can be used alone or mixed with yogurt, turmeric, olive oil, etc., for enhanced benefits. Raw Milk: Prevents wrinkles and hydrates the skin. Can be applied directly to the face for a youthful glow. Olive Oil: Excellent for dry skin due to its moisturizing properties. Can be used as a natural remedy for maintaining skin hydration. Coconut Oil: Repairs the skin’s outer barrier and has antibacterial properties. Effective in calming skin inflammation, promoting healing, and slowing down aging. Best suited for dry skin. Yogurt/Curd: Highly moisturizing and can be used alone or combined with honey, aloe vera, turmeric, or olive oil. Beneficial for hydrating the skin and providing a natural glow. Importance Of Diet In Skincare: Most dermatologists stress that skin care is not only about topical treatments but also about what you consume. A diet rich in certain nutrients can significantly improve skin health. Omega-3 Fatty Acids And Polyphenols: Found in fruits, vegetables, herbs, nuts, and seeds. These nutrients help maintain skin health and fight inflammation. Beta-Carotene Is Your Best Friend: Consuming beta-carotene-rich foods can eliminate pale complexion and protect against winter skin issues. Found in carrots, sweet potatoes, and other colorful vegetables. Never Forget The Importance Of A Balanced Diet: Incorporate ample servings of vegetables, nuts, fruits, and proteins like beans and legumes. A balanced diet strengthens the gut and combats inflammation, reflecting positively on your skin. While home ingredients can be a boon for skincare, it is crucial to use them wisely and in consultation with a dermatologist. Understanding the causes of your skin issues and knowing which ingredients to use can lead to healthier, more radiant skin. Incorporate these dermatologist-approved ingredients into your skincare routine, and complement them with a nutritious diet to achieve the best results. Remember, skincare starts from the inside out, and a holistic approach will ensure long-lasting benefits for your skin. - 5 Ways to Always Look CLASSY
5 Ways to Always Look CLASSY by Tanvi Punia 5 Ways to Always Look CLASSY 16 July 2021 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Classy style never goes out of fashion. It’s the biggest compliment when someone describes a person’s style as being classy. It’s definitely what everyone should strive to be. Classy style doesn’t always have to be boring as one can always incorporate classier trendy pieces into their looks. And of course, there’s so much more to being a classy person than just the way one looks. Here, the prime focus is just on how to look classy. Through this article, one can learn 5 easy ways to always look classy. So, let’s get started! Keep Clothes Pristine One should keep their clothes looking pristine and clean at all times. What is meant by this is that a person doesn’t always have to go out and spend hundreds of dollars getting really expensive clothes. Instead, even if the person is wearing something that’s relatively cheaper and they present themselves well and wear them right, they can make for a very classy outfit. One should always have their clothes crease-free. Balance the Outfits One can limit the amount of skin they show by not showing too much skin everywhere. Well, it is completely okay to wear something slightly revealing but the rule that most people like to go by is to balance it out. So, if a person is wearing something slightly revealing on the top, they can balance it out with something a bit more conservative on the bottom such as pants that can cover their legs. One can also wear skinny fit and show off their figure but it is much classier to cover up the bottom half and vice versa. Minimal and Natural Make-up Obviously, everyone would still do a few things to enhance their looks but one should not go overboard. With make-up, the three things to focus on would be the skin, eyebrows, and eyelashes. Everyone’s skin should always look nice and clean. There’s nothing worse than a cakey foundation look. In this day and age, everyone is going for a more natural, glowy look so lighter make-up should be preferred. Eyebrows definitely frame one’s face. If someone has messy eyebrows, no matter how nice their clothes or hair are, their face won’t look put together. As soon as they’ll have nice and tidy eyebrows, it will enhance their overall look. Wear Dainty Jewellery With everyday jewellery, it is always classier to go with dainty jewellery that looks high-quality. One can even wear them in the shower and not worry about them getting tarnished. So, having a few pieces that are really dainty and of good quality would last through the years and would definitely give a classier look overall. Wear Comfortable Clothes There’s nothing classy about wearing something uncomfortable and constantly keep adjusting. It’s a sure thing that everyone would have experienced these clothes that look really beautiful but are a bit uncomfortable. It just makes them look not very confident with themselves and this constant fidgeting is just not classy. So, one should choose their clothing items very consciously. So, these were the 5 ways of always looking classy. Incorporating them into daily life can make anyone look classy! - The Influence Of Kanye West On Fashion
The Influence Of Kanye West On Fashion by Priti Sharma The Influence Of Kanye West On Fashion 11 December 2022 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement All of us are familiar with Kanye West's outrageous outbursts. Like when he climbed the stage and took Taylor Swift's microphone, or when he declared his intention to run for president in 2020. Although Kanye West has made several odd statements, he has had the greatest impact on modern fashion because of his distinct aesthetic from other rappers' aesthetics, his real effect on sneaker culture, and how rappers define masculinity as a whole. Rapper Kanye West stood out among others for his sense of style. Kanye used thinner clothing, whereas the majority of rappers before him had a more "thug"-like aesthetic. With the elegance of a bull in a Givenchy shop, Kanye West challenged the hip-hop fashion establishment. The self-described "slave to fashion" stood apart from his contemporaries when he first entered the rap industry in 2002. The Chicago MC deviated from the typical look of rappers, who were often dressed in tall tees, enormous sports jerseys, and baggy pants. Instead, he wore Ralph Lauren polo bears and backpacks. Although Kanye is not the first rapper to defy fashion conventions or wear pink, the Louis Vuitton Don paved a previously unheard-of road into the realm of high-end design. The multi-hyphenate has transformed into a respectable fashion hero thanks to stunts like his listening party/fashion show held at Madison Square Garden and connections with industry figures like Riccardo Tisci, Anna Wintour, and Phoebe Philo. However, this visionary's creativity goes beyond only introducing thinner fits to hip-hop. Since he persuaded youngsters to wear those godawful shutter sunglasses and ask their parents to purchase them Air Yeezys, Kanye's influence on the fashion world and the youth has been clear. With the ballerina-filled ingenuity of Runaway, he later exposed street youngsters to Phillip Lim on his own. Rap fans saw The Throne debut various Givenchy collaborations, including leather kilts and album artwork, demonstrating how individualism and creative expression triumph over outdated gender conventions. At Coachella, Kanye purposefully disregarded gender stereotypes by donning a women's Celine top, redefining masculinity in hip-hop. Of course, haters frequently question the rapper's sexuality because of the widespread homophobia in the genre. However, Kanye has never let criticism get to him. He is doing more than merely dispelling the erroneous link between sexual desire and skirts by dressing in gender-neutral attire. A$AP Rocky, Young Thug, and Jaden Smith are just a few of the expressive, progressive young musicians he is giving the world. Thugga has no qualms about saying that "90 percent of my clothing are women's," and Jaden celebrates gender fluidity in his most recent Louis Vuitton advertisements, thanks in part to Yeezy's creation of safe places for males to dress however the hell they want. Even rappers A$AP Rocky and Kendrick Lamar have acknowledged The Life of Pablo MC as having a significant influence on their sharply tailored clothing. Not to add, it's impossible to go five blocks in downtown NYC without seeing ten Yeezy impersonators. Even if some people don't like Kanye's so-called rants, he has a point when he says, "I am so credible, so important, and so relevant that I will alter things." And he has that. Regardless of how often his Yeezy designs are criticized, Kanye is a visionary with the ability to alter how people dress. Beyond the mic, he is amazing. He has become one of the most important people in the world of fashion because of his constant dominance in the fashion world. And, buddy, the youngsters are making notes. #KanyeWest #HipHop #Fashion #Rappers #Yeezy #LouisVuitton #Givenchy SEARCH Why does Fashion Need Fashion Shows FASHION From Dreams To Crowns: Anuradha Garg’s Inspiring Mrs. India Story FASHION Colour Psychology in Fashion: Explained FASHION Legendary Female Icons Who Made Fashion Statements In The 20th Century FASHION The House of Chanel: History FASHION POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Sakshi Shah Manish Malhotra Unfolds A Couture Finale At Dubai Fashion Week 11 February 2026 FASHION By Sakshi Shah At Dubai Fashion Week, Day Five Unfolded — Krésha Bajaj In Focus 9 February 2026 FASHION By Sakshi Shah Day Four At Dubai Fashion Week AW 26-27 Was About Designers Owning Their Voice 8 February 2026 FASHION By Sakshi Shah Dubai Fashion Week AW 26-27, Day Three: Seen Through The Clothes 6 February 2026 FASHION RELATED POSTS Advertisement
- The Pygmalion Effect
SOCIETY by Akshaya Chandar The Pygmalion Effect 6 August 2022 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Not many may know - the ancient Greek mythological tale of Pygmalion, has been a source of inspiration for more than a hundred works of literature, and about fifty films and plays. To refresh, Pygmalion was the prince of Cyprus and was a great sculptor. He creates an ivory statue of a woman so passionately that he gets obsessed with it. He prays to god for the statue to come alive and the God grants him the same! The Pygmalion is one of the most famous plays by George Bernard Shaw. The wisdom passed down to generations that a strong will can induce life even in a rock. George Bernard Shaw put the same prophecy in the play, and it was also created in the musical composition 'My Fair Lady'. Today we refer to the concept, that a person will achieve or perform as he is expected to perform as "The Pygmalion Effect". The main idea concerning The Pygmalion Effect is that if you believe that someone is capable of achieving greatness then that person will indeed achieve greatness. In other words, believing in potential simply creates potential. "The Pygmalion Effect" may occur all around us-whether it be at work, at schools or even at home. Closer home, the tour of Akshardham Temple at Delhi starts with the same concept of a rock turning into a human, with the qualities that the sculptor sees in it. Here at school, we the parents and teachers can create better students, scholars and pupils just by believing in the fact that they are the best. Let that be in behavior, academics, social conduct or any such attribute. This is truer, when working with underachievers. All it takes is, really believing in this fact. If we relate this closely, for instance, you tell a new teacher in a school - who has no previous experience with her new to be students, that a particular student of hers is extremely bright and clever. The new teacher will automatically be more supportive, more encouraging, teach more challenging material, be patient and allow that student more time to answer questions. The main concern is that this new teacher entirely believes that this student is bright and clever, and so is the converse for which we should be more careful. If I co-relate this with my young friends, I would say-just start communicating with yourself and others, with strengths and qualities, or skills and talents. You must start focusing on all that is positive and dismiss everything that is negative. Believe in yourself and others and you will give yourself the power to change lives. Every human, including you, has strengths, qualities, attributes, talents and skills. Use it for your best advantage. If the famous octopus Paul could create history in World Cup Football by his predictions, should we talk more for humans. Treat a man as he is and he will remain as he is. Treat a man as he can and should be and he will become as he can and should be. #PygmalionEffect #Cyprus #Sculptor #GeorgeBernardShaw #Myfairlady #Greek SEARCH Why India is the most depressed country in the world?
