Neha Bhasin: ‘I want to take Indian music to the same global level as international artists like Michael Jackson, Beyonce’ by Rupashree Ravi Neha Bhasin: ‘I want to take Indian music to the same global level as international artists like Michael Jackson, Beyonce’ 30 June 2022 COVER STORIES Advertisement Singer and songwriter Neha Bhasin has carved a unique artistic identity over the years as a pop artist and folk musician in India. Known for her popular film songs ‘Kuch Khaas,’ ‘Dhunki’ as well as ‘Hum Naye Geet Sunaye’ from the girl group, Viva! she has established herself as a powerful vocalist and independent artist, who has broken many stereotypes of the music industry. In a recent interview, Bhasin shared details about her upcoming singles and collaborations, the struggles of being an independent artist, and her future goals. She also spoke about her biggest inspirations and what she wishes to achieve in the ever-changing industry. “I started my journey as an independent artist right after Viva! but I released my first album in 2010. I’ve been very fortunate to not just sustain myself but balance a great career between Bollywood music and also my own independent music. Of course, you need good music, funds, and the right support system. I believe what really matters is the connection you share with your audience and the music that you're producing while maintaining the consistency of the good stuff that you produce. It’s not easy, but consistency is the key,” she said. Bhasin shared with us that she enjoys a wide range of music genres. Since she was young, she always enjoyed listening to pop rock and classic rock bands like Aerosmith and Pink Floyd. Old school artists like Prince have influenced her musical career. She cites Michael Jackson as her biggest musical influence during the start of her career and Adele as her all-time favourite. “I love keeping myself updated with the world's music space. I listen to current dance genres and I’ve also recently warmed up to a lot of Sufi music. Many artists have inspired me like Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Queen, Aerosmith, and Bon Jovi. So many artists from Billy Joel to BTS have moved me. Among Indian artists, I would say Kishore da, Asha Ji, Lata Ji, Reshma Ji, Noor Jahan Ji are my favourites. Some current artists I love are Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Charlie Puth, and Sam Smith It's typical to put them in one word because I feel every great artist has a great impact on your life but I think the reason why I started loving music was Michael Jackson,” she shared. When asked if any album or single is in the works, she said, “Yes, I'm working on my next single. Singles, rather and some folk song originals. Once they're ready I would know which is the next one for release. I’m always working on new music.” On artists that she would love to collaborate with, she mentioned singer and composer Amaal Malik. She expressed her interest to collaborate with Punjabi artists and also shared that she is currently in talks with composers Yuvan Shankar Raja and Devi Sri Prasad from the south industry. She hopes that there will be some big stops coming this year with regard to international collaborations, although it is a bit far-fetched at the moment. As a public figure who has been a part of the industry for many years, Bhasin has been very vocal about social issues like sexism and body shaming and has taken part in a lot of campaigns. “I've had different sizes of bodies in the span of my career. At the very beginning, I was actively body-shamed by the people that I worked with. Body positivity is something I really believe in. It’s something I was very sensitive about because it really impacted my life. I suffered from body image issues and food disorders for a very long time. So, I understand the impact it has on a young person's mind. I hate the word ‘plus size.’ I feel like your body is a beautiful armour that God has given for your soul's residence. It should be appreciated and loved. I think it's my responsibility to put out the right message especially, being a victim of body shaming myself. Hence, I'm active about it,” she said. The award-winning singer shared that her biggest goal or mission as a musical artist is to produce great music that means something in the world. She shared, “The kind of music that I grew up listening to, that gave me goosebumps and changed my life, made me the artist I am today. I want to be the change that I want to see in the industry. My job is not to preach to people or to change them, but to live by example. That's what I'm doing and that's what I’ve always done. I hope to make my label bigger and have more resources to produce good music. As of now, I'm the only artist who’s in it. I'll be happy if we can get more artists in the future. My mission is to take Punjabi folk music global. I've kind of resurrected a dead genre and I want to make that bigger and better.” Her ultimate dream to achieve in the music industry is to live a legacy of great work and for people to remember her work as legendary music. She wants to take India to the same global level as international artists like Michael Jackson, Beyonce, and Madonna and have worldwide concerts with great production value. “Of course, my ultimate dream is to win a Grammy and release my English album, which is something that I’ve not done much about till now except for writing good music,” she added. - AiSPi Wanderlust Diaries: Marzook, L’Afshar, And A Fashion Bender In Mumbai
AiSPi Wanderlust Diaries: Marzook, L’Afshar, And A Fashion Bender In Mumbai By Shriniwas Kodape AiSPi Wanderlust Diaries: Marzook, L’Afshar, And A Fashion Bender In Mumbai 25 April 2025 FASHION Advertisement There are days in Mumbai when the air feels heavier, as if the city’s leaning in, waiting for something to happen. This was one of those days. On the top floors of The St. Regis Mumbai, the curtains pulled back, the champagne flowed too early, and a different kind of storm rolled in — a beautiful, high-fashion cyclone called AiSPi Wanderlust Diaries . Now, if you’ve never heard of AiSPi , let me put it this way — it’s not your typical, sterile pop-up pushing overpriced clichés. No, this is the stuff of fashion folklore, the kind of operation run by people who chase labels in alleyways of Antwerp and underground ateliers in Istanbul. They traffic in stories, not trends. And this weekend, they turned Mumbai into their playground. Marzook was there — those wild, sculptural bags that feel like tiny spaceships for your secrets, glittering like fever dreams under the ballroom lights. These weren’t bags you politely slung over your shoulder. No. These are bags you build an entire damn night around. You walk into a room with a Marzook, and you don’t just arrive — you declare war on subtlety. Then came L’Afshar . Minimalist? Sure. But not in that quiet, forgettable way. Sharp-edged, modern relics that look like they were carved out of glass by someone with a hangover and a god complex. I watched people — the loud, the shy, the ones pretending not to care — run their fingers over those cool, marble-like surfaces. They didn’t just want to carry them; they wanted to be the kind of person who could. And if you drifted past the handbags and martinis, you'd stumble onto things that didn't shout — but whispered in the most intoxicating ways. The Pen Stroke , with hand-drawn journals and prints that made you want to run away to somewhere lawless and write everything down. And The Charm Shop , selling tiny, sparkling talismans — little anchors in a city that never stops spinning. But here’s what most people won’t tell you: It wasn’t about the shopping. Not really. It was about what those pieces made you feel. It was about holding something that carried the fingerprints of another world. About standing in a room full of strangers and thinking, Damn, maybe Mumbai’s finally getting the fashion scene it deserves. And adding to this electric madness, AiSPi unveiled their new Spring/Summer 2025 collections — a breathtaking lineup from 30+ global designers , each piece a portal to some sun-drenched square in Valencia, a candlelit studio in Paris, or a wild rooftop atelier in Tbilisi. These weren’t just collections; they were declarations of where fashion is going next, and Mumbai got the first, intoxicating taste. By evening, the place wasn’t just a pop-up — it was a fever dream. People weren’t browsing; they were hunting. The room smelled like perfume, leather, ambition, and a little danger. And that’s exactly how it should be. Wanderlust Diaries wasn’t a polite fashion event. It was a beautiful, decadent act of rebellion. Proof that in this fast, crowded, endlessly noisy city, there’s still room for things that are rare, strange, and alive. Here’s to more nights like this. More stories told in silk, sequins, scribbled journals, and hard-edged acrylic bags. And to AiSPi — may they keep smuggling this beautiful madness across borders, bringing the world’s finest, strangest, most beautiful things straight into the heart of Mumbai. See you at the next one. Bring your chaos. And your wallet. - Lana Scolaro: Breaking Barriers In The Male-Dominated Music Industry
Lana Scolaro: Breaking Barriers In The Male-Dominated Music Industry by Anushka Sharma Lana Scolaro: Breaking Barriers In The Male-Dominated Music Industry 2 March 2023 COVER STORIES Advertisement Lana Scolaro, a rising star in the electronic music scene, has been breaking barriers in the male-dominated industry since she first stepped behind the decks. Hailing from Ibiza, the birthplace of electronic music, Lana's passion for music began at a young age. She played the cello and keyboard and was surrounded by DJs and music every summer. This exposure sparked her interest in pursuing a career as a DJ. In an industry where men dominate the scene, Lana faced some challenges as a female DJ. Some venues and people did not take her seriously due to her ultra-feminine style and look. However, Lana did not let this deter her from achieving her dreams. She persevered, constantly producing music, and releasing at least one song a month. She also participated in podcasts, interviews, and radio shows, always looking for new sounds to keep her relevant in the industry. As an artist, Lana has a unique vision that she balances with the demands of the music industry and her fans. Currently, she is incorporating her creative vision in the digital metaverse, where she has created her own dream house that is already in the NFT Oasis. This way, her music can be displayed, and fans can watch her in concert in the digital world. Lana is continuously evolving, and her creative vision is evident in her work. Throughout her career, Lana has been influenced by several artists, including Solomun, Santiago Garcia, Rami Bedouin, and Luciano, whom she watched perform in Ibiza. However, Gwen Stefani is the artist she looks up to the most. She adores Gwen Stefani's music, and she loves her style. Lana relates to the emotions that go into Gwen Stefani's songs and finds her inspiring. Apart from music, Lana loves painting and producing short animation projects. If not a DJ, she would have chosen to be an actress or a painter. When asked about her advice to aspiring female DJs, she encourages them to keep practicing and mixing on CDJs. She also advises them to put their music out on SoundCloud, YouTube, and every platform possible to be heard. Showcasing your music and getting feedback from fans is crucial to success. Touring and traveling can be challenging, but Lana manages to balance her personal and professional life with four phones. One of her most memorable performances was at the Texas Road to Nowhere Festival. It was her first time in Texas, and she was not supposed to play, but her good friend Chanel West Coast put her on stage and let her perform her single "Rick Ross." Lana envisions the future of the music industry as a digital metaverse, where people can watch her DJ in the virtual world. Her current and future projects include collaborating with brands in the fashion industry, producing a unique track with a male artist, and working on a new collection for her jewelry line LS Diamonds. With her drive, creativity, and passion for music, Lana Scolaro is sure to make waves in the industry and continue breaking barriers for female DJs. - Vitiligo's Representation In Fashion
Vitiligo's Representation In Fashion By Anushka Sharma Vitiligo's Representation In Fashion 15 March 2024 FASHION Advertisement In recent years, the fashion industry has made significant strides in embracing diversity and inclusivity, challenging traditional beauty standards and celebrating individuality. One of the most notable shifts has been the increased representation of individuals with vitiligo, a skin condition characterized by the loss of pigment in certain areas of the skin, resulting in white patches. Historically, the fashion industry has been criticized for its narrow portrayal of beauty, often favoring models with flawless, uniform skin tones. However, in a welcome departure from this norm, many fashion brands and designers have begun to cast models with vitiligo, recognizing the unique beauty and strength they bring to the runway. One of the pioneers in promoting vitiligo representation in fashion is the late model Winnie Harlow. Discovered on the hit television show "America's Next Top Model," Harlow has since become a prominent figure in the fashion world, using her platform to raise awareness about vitiligo and advocate for greater inclusivity in the industry. Her success has inspired other models with vitiligo to pursue careers in fashion, breaking down barriers and challenging perceptions along the way. Fashion brands have also played a crucial role in promoting diversity by featuring models with vitiligo in their campaigns and runway shows. From high-end luxury labels to mainstream retailers, brands are increasingly embracing models of all skin types and colors, reflecting the diverse spectrum of beauty in society. Beyond the runway, vitiligo representation in fashion has also extended to advertising and marketing campaigns. Major beauty brands have featured models with vitiligo in their advertisements, sending a powerful message of acceptance and empowerment to consumers around the world. These campaigns not only promote diversity but also help to destigmatize skin conditions like vitiligo, encouraging individuals to embrace their unique characteristics with confidence. In addition to fostering greater representation, the fashion industry has also seen a rise in the creation of clothing lines specifically designed for individuals with vitiligo. These lines often feature garments with innovative designs and color-blocking techniques, helping individuals with vitiligo to feel more comfortable and confident in their clothing choices. Furthermore, the rise of social media has provided a platform for individuals with vitiligo to share their stories and connect with others who may be experiencing similar challenges. Through platforms like Instagram and YouTube, influencers and advocates with vitiligo have been able to amplify their voices, raising awareness and promoting acceptance in the fashion community and beyond. While progress has undoubtedly been made, there is still much work to be done to ensure that individuals with vitiligo are fully represented and included in the fashion industry. This includes not only increasing visibility on the runway and in advertising but also advocating for greater accessibility and inclusivity in the design and production of clothing. In conclusion, vitiligo's representation in fashion marks a significant step forward in the ongoing journey towards greater diversity and inclusivity. By celebrating the beauty of individuality and challenging traditional beauty standards, the fashion industry has the power to inspire change and foster a more inclusive society for all. - Christian Dior: missed designer and his legacy
Christian Dior: missed designer and his legacy by Aparajita Jaiswal Christian Dior: missed designer and his legacy 1 May 2021 FASHION Advertisement What we know about Christian Dior, commonly known as Dior, is that it’s a French luxury goods company controlled and chaired by French businessman Bernard Arnault, who also heads LVMH, the world’s largest luxury group. But what many of us do not know about the brand is its origin. The company was founded in 1946 by designer Christian Dior. It currently designs and retails leather goods, fashion accessories, footwear, jewellery, timepieces, fragrance, makeup, and skin care products, while also maintaining its tradition as a creator of haute-couture under the Christian Dior Couture division. The Christian Dior label remains largely for women’s offerings, although the company also operates the Dior Homme division for men and the baby Dior label for children’s wear. Products are sold throughout its portfolio of retail stores worldwide, as well as through its online store. The House of Dior was established on 16 December 1946 in “a private house” at 30 Avenue Montaigne in Paris. However, the current Dior Corporation celebrates “1947” as the opening year. Businessman Marcel Boussac decided to financially back Dior. Boussac first invited Dior to design for Philippe et Gaston, but Christian Dior declined as he wanted to start his own brand instead of reviving an old one, leading to his first launch, New Look, a fashion collection for Spring–Summer 1947, on 12th February 1947. The company was a majorly owned affiliate of Boussac Saint-Freres S.A. and was really a vanity project for Boussac. Nevertheless, Dior had a non-controlling stake in the firm and allowed a great part of his namesake label despite Boussac’s reputation as a “Control freak”. Expansion from France began by the end of 1949 with the opening of a Christian Dior boutique in New York City. After this, Christian Dior signed a contract with Douglas Cox for Dior to produce original designs and for Douglas Cox to create them in his Flinders Lane workshop in Australia. In 1950, Jacques Rouët, the general manager of Dior Ltd, devised a licensing program to place the now-renowned name of “Christian Dior” visibly on a variety of luxury goods. Members of the French Chamber of Couture denounced it as a degrading action for the haute-couture image. Nevertheless, licensing became a profitable move and began a trend to continue for decades to come, which all couture houses followed. The company operated firmly established locations in Mexico, Cuba, Canada, and Italy by the end of 1953. By the mid-1950s, the House of Dior operated a well-respected fashion empire. Christian Dior launched more highly successful fashion lines between the years of 1954 and 1957. However, none came as close to the profound effect of the New Look. Christian Dior appeared on the cover of TIME dated 4 March 1957. The designer soon afterwards died from a third heart attack on 24 October 1957. The captivating impact of Dior’s creative fashion genius earned him recognition as one of history’s greatest fashion figures. Kevin Almond for Contemporary Fashion wrote that “by the time Dior died his name had become synonymous with taste and luxury.” “Perfume is the indispensable complement to the personality of women, the finishing touch on a dress” ~Christian Dior Dior without Christian Dior. The death of the head designer left the House of Dior in chaos, and general manager Jacques Rouët considered shutting down operation worldwide. This possibility was not received graciously by Dior licensees and the French fashion industry. To bring the label back on its feet, Rouët promoted the 21-year-old Yves Saint-Laurent to Artistic Director the same year. Laurent had joined the House’s family in 1955 after being picked out by the original designer himself for the position of the first ever and only Head Assistant. After change of multiple designers and various scandals, Dior now, presently, has created strong partnerships with Hollywood celebrities and social media influencers, working closely with these individuals to reach more demographics and re-establish its identity as a new, modern brand, despite the fact that it has been around for a while. Dior has effectively implemented social media into their marketing communication strategy, in which images and videos from campaigns are shared on both the official Dior profile, and on the celebrity ambassadors’ social media pages. An example of this success is seen in the Secret Garden campaign featuring Rihanna. Despite the reach not being completely suitable to the Dior target audience, collaborating with the likes of Rihanna allows the company to engage with more of the market, as Rihanna’s social media following is four times larger than that of the fashion house. #DiorChristianDiorFashionLuxuryCompanyCoutureRihannaFrench SEARCH The Rich Heritage of Indian Handloom FASHION Fashion In The 19th Century FASHION Colour Psychology in Fashion: Explained FASHION The Influence Of Kanye West On Fashion FASHION K-Pop Fashion And Its Impact On Global Wardrobe FASHION POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Shriniwas Kodape AiSPi Wanderlust Diaries: Marzook, L’Afshar, And A Fashion Bender In Mumbai 25 April 2025 FASHION By Anushka Uniyal Kiyaan Silver: Timeless Jewellery For Every Woman 27 March 2025 FASHION By Sakshi Batra The Shoe Faktory Success Story: Ishpreet Singh Gujral’s Bold Business Leap 27 March 2025 FASHION By Sakshi Batra From Reality TV To Real Success: Nibedita Paal’s Inspiring Story 27 March 2025 FASHION RELATED POSTS

Journeying Through Fashion And Self - Expression With Paranosh Irani by Akshra Khandelwal Journeying Through Fashion And Self - Expression With Paranosh Irani 27 August 2023 FASHION Advertisement "Fashion is a variable, while style is a constant. Style expresses who I am in my way!" - These words resonate deeply with the vibrant soul that is Paranosh Irani. From the colourful realms of Instagram to the poised corridors of the fashion world, Paranosh has carved a niche uniquely hers. In an exclusive interview with our magazine, she unveils her journey, her inspirations, and the philosophy that drives her. With a radiant smile that mirrors her effervescent personality, Paranosh Irani delves into her roots, giving us a glimpse of her evolution as a digital content creator and social media influencer. "Who is Paranosh Irani?" she muses as if teasing us to embark on a journey of discovery. A journey began on Instagram, where she found her voice through a quirky-edgy take on Fashion, offering honest reviews and invaluable tips on skincare and makeup. Her audience is not just followers; they are comrades, fellow Unicorn enthusiasts who understand her affinity for the mythical creature that represents her spirit – unique, magical, and full of dreams. The sparkle in her eyes intensifies as she shares her thoughts on Fashion and style. "Fashion is a variable, while style is a constant," she asserts. To her, style is the canvas on which she paints her individuality. It's not about following trends but creating a tapestry of self-expression. A style icon in her own right, Paranosh draws inspiration from Iris Apfel, a nonagenarian fashion maven. The connection between the two might not be obvious at first glance, but the audacity to be oneself, no matter the age, forms the bridge between their worlds. As she traces her journey, it's evident that the path wasn't always bedecked with confidence and self-assuredness. "Since childhood, I always felt I had an 'out-of-the-box' factor to give back to the industry," she confesses. Yet, her path meandered, and she grappled with self-esteem issues. Only later, after enrolling in an image consulting course, her vision cleared. The world of Fashion and self-expression, which had seemed distant, became an open field of opportunities. "It brought back my love for fashion," she reminisces, a reminder that sometimes our passions only need a gentle nudge to return. The tale takes a twist as we learn of her dalliance with setting up an online platform for local boutiques, a project that remained in the shadows. It's a testament to the fact that not every venture blooms into the spotlight, but each contributes to the growth of the creative spirit. Against the backdrop of these endeavours, the idea of fashion blogging simmered, waiting for the right moment to take centre stage. Paranosh Irani took her rightful place in the digital realm like a phoenix rising from the ashes. The days of indecision were behind her, replaced by a conviction to chase her dreams relentlessly. "When people around me work 3-4 jobs, why can't I manage two?" She questions a statement that encapsulates her relentless determination. With Instagram as her launchpad, she embarked on a blogging journey, eventually expanding her presence to a WordPress blog account. Today, her digital footprint is a testament to her creative prowess. She has crafted a space uniquely hers with content that reflects her quirky-edgy perspective on Fashion, insightful reviews, skincare tips, and lifestyle musings. But she didn't stop there. Winner of the Femina Mrs Stylista Pageant 2018, she broke her barriers and shattered the glass ceiling. "This was the first time I had ever won something beauty-fashion related," she chuckles, her younger self amazed by the woman she's become. The tale would only be complete by acknowledging her media collaborations. Her styling videos have graced the digital pages of My Good Times, while her story has been told through the ink of Eatmy News, Creme Magazine, Making HERstory Again, and the airwaves of Radio One, Pune. A highlight that gleams with pride is her participation in the Born on Instagram program by Instagram itself, a validation of her influence and creativity. Beyond the digital realm, Paranosh has ventured into entrepreneurship. Her online business, www.theaccessorys.com , and her preloved fashion endeavour, ReHome ReLove, symbolise her enterprising spirit. They are also a reminder that her journey is as much about creating pathways for others as it is about personal growth. As the conversation draws closer, her dreams emerge on the horizon. An ambassador on a global stage for fashion week, representing her unique style to the world – that's the crescendo she envisions. Yet, amidst the aspirations, her message remains grounded and potent. "Don't give up; perceive, push your boundaries and carve your niche because no one is like you!" Paranosh Irani is more than an influencer; she's a storyteller, a dreamer, and a warrior of self-expression. Her journey reminds us that pursuing passion is not a linear path but a tapestry of experiences woven with threads of resilience, audacity, and unyielding belief. - Cloud Kitchens are the new buzz
by Rupashree Ravi Cloud Kitchens are the new buzz 14 August 2022 FOOD Advertisement Advertisement The future of cloud kitchens looks promising and brighter than ever. In the last two decades, we have seen people dining out more often for a change from home-cooked meals. But in recent times, there’s been a gradual shift to ordering food at home and an increase in take-out options. Moreover, the Covid-19 pandemic changed the complete economics of food and restaurant businesses. While dine-in trends will continue to exist, the industry is focusing a lot more on food deliveries. With just three ingredients – a great menu, a kitchen space, and smart packaging, you can create and run a successful cloud kitchen. Its simplicity and low-cost model have pushed hundreds of people over the last two years to jump onto the bandwagon. The domestic cloud kitchens market is expected to grow from $400 million in 2019 to $2 billion by 2024. Cloud kitchens are leading from the front to bring about this change. But what exactly are cloud kitchens? Unlike brick-and-mortar restaurants, cloud kitchens don’t have a dine-in facility. They take orders via apps, in-house or through delivery partners like Swiggy and Zomato and operate single or multiple food brands. A booming cloud kitchen in Delhi The perfect recipe to run a successful cloud kitchen is by selling an amazing food product. Cloud kitchens are popular because of the food they offer. Unlike a restaurant with a great dining experience where people go for the service and ambience, a cloud kitchen’s only value is its food. So, the food on the menu is the most important ingredient of a cloud kitchen, and not working on the product well enough and creating a good menu will most certainly not work. Cloud kitchen owners should work on their food to make it stand out. They should master the recipe and find a niche over their competitors. Cloud kitchen rely on their delivery and take-out format For cloud kitchens to be able to sustain, they need to keep their costs low. They must be careful not to spend too much money on packaging. The cost of packaging for cloud kitchens should not be more than 5 per cent of total expenses. Kitchen experts suggest that the cost of goods sold should ideally be around 25 per cent of total costs. Although food packaging is one of the most important parts of a cloud kitchen, one has to ensure that the packaging ensures safe travel of the food from the kitchen to the consumer, while also offering hygiene and taste. Packaging is also a great way to market your cloud kitchen The biggest mistake that cloud kitchens do is operating 6-7 brands from one location. When there are 10 different cuisines in one kitchen, the manpower has to be trained specifically. The equipment used for one cuisine might not work for the other. That’s why a lot of cloud kitchens have a problem making money. Being particular about locations can be a bad decision as Profitable cloud kitchens can flourish even in tier 2 cities more than in fancy urban hubs. So, what’s fuelling this growth in cloud kitchens? In India, a person on an average orders 6-7 meals per month at home, which is far lower than the global average of 16 orders a month. Hence, the scope to expand this segment is huge and it is important that those looking to start a successful venture or business capitalise on this opportunity. Kian Barazandeh: Inspiring confidence with his awesomeness and positive energy By Aadhya Venkatesh Kian Barazandeh: Inspiring confidence with his awesomeness and positive energy 30 July 2022 COVER STORIES Advertisement Actor and Model Kian Barazandeh ventured into acting and modelling without intending to do so. “I was scouted over one-decade ago by a daring agent that believes in my talent and the look,” said Kian. Within a few years, Kian achieved heights that most models dream of. He was named IMTA’s “Model of the Year” and won some of the most significant modelling partnerships in the world. He aims to be the Ultimate Super-model and is motivated by the fear of being average. “All my life, I have dared to go beyond the possible,” he said. Kian wishes to blur the boundaries between the impossible and what is possible and has coined the term #possimpossible . Kian’s favourite collaboration was with Fashion Magazine NYC. Being selected as the face of Fashion Magazine NYC was a Himalayan achievement for the actor/model. Being selected was a fruit of his hard work and was a massive milestone in his career. Having worked with many high-profile luxury brands, Kian uses various model/photographer-finding websites to gain skills and experiences. He has collaborated with multiple luxury brands such as Bentley, Vertu, Chopard, 209 Mare, Rachini, and Dolce & Gabbana, amongst many others. He was selected as the style influencer for Dolce & Gabbana. “Think of Dolce & Gabbana, and you think of sunny Sicily, small Italian villages, big Italian families and big designs,” he said. D&G is one of Kian’s favourite designers, and draws a lot of his fashion inspiration from the brand. “Part of your brand is how you present yourself, including fashion.” Kian believes that playing with shapes helps one stand out as most pants and dressed come in standard styles. Kian was scouted by one of the biggest fashion modelling agencies, Independent Management, based in Milan, Italy. Independent Management now represents him as both an agency and a mother agency. Because of his job, Kian works in both Europe and Dubai. “If I have to choose one, I will choose Europe and Milan, Italy over UAE,” he said. He chooses Milan because it is one of the top fashion cities in the world. Milan also is a significant breakthrough market for many new models, and a successful stint there has benefitted many models throughout their careers. It is “a relatively inexpensive city with a wonderful culture, amazing food, and warm people.” When asked about a fashion ritual, Kian said that he always makes sure to bring essentials. These include nude undergarments. “I believe a model appearance: skin, Hair and... always must be photoshoot ready. This means the magic happens in your daily life and lifestyle routine.” He believes consistency is the most important component while working towards your goals. It helps you adapt and form habits faster. Kian deems motivation to be a driving force towards action. “You are going to be different tomorrow. Stop feeling stuck.
