  • Ritabhari Chakraborty talks about her adopted school, The Ideal School for the deaf

Ritabhari Chakraborty talks about her adopted school, The Ideal School for the deaf by Aparajita Jaiswal Ritabhari Chakraborty talks about her adopted school, The Ideal School for the deaf 24 September 2022 COVER STORIES Advertisement The beautiful, smart and accomplished actress, Ritabhari Chakraborty, talks to Editor-in-chief, Aparajita Jaiswal in a freewheel chat about her latest film Fatafati, which is centred around body positivity. The actress excitedly exclaims that the film is in her mother tongue, Bengali. With the shooting wrapped up, the film is due to release in merely a few days, creating much anticipation in the minds of Ritabhari's adoring fans. The film is about a plus sized or rather a double XL model's journey and how she breaks the norms of “fashion” that we believe in; that women should have a certain kind of a body to be in fashion. The film talks about how girls should not measure their happiness and health by the stereotypical body shown in films. Ritabhari excitedly says, "this is the project that I'm currently looking forward to the most and want everybody to also look forward to with me." With an industry that is so unbelievably hard to make a mark in, each artist faces the trouble of understanding and bearing with the process. Ritabhari gives her perspective on the matter. "I think anyone who's starting off in the industry, in the film industry, the first thing you should know is acting. A lot of people think if you look good, if you're pretty, if you have a certain presence, that that's enough to become an actor. Trust me, that's absolutely not true! The first thing you need to know is how to act, second is you need to know that there are going to be days when you have no work and you have to be okay with it when you see your other friends, your colleagues people of your profession who are getting jobs when you're not as much patience is the key. You have to know in advance that there will be days when you just have to be patient and believe in yourself. "Thirdly, you have to carve your own path of whatever success means to you, whatever you are meant to do as an actor because every actor is different. Every personality is different. If you're aspiring to be Katrina Kaif, you cannot be Katrina Kaif because she is her. If you're aspiring to be Alia Bhatt, but you cannot be Alia because she is her. You have to aspire to be something that's original. That's the only way you can be seen and heard by people, because when they already have an Alia Bhatt who is so incredible, why would they want another one?," Ritabhari says correctly. Ritabhari played a woman priest in the film Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti, a film that focused on menstruation and how when are not impure. "I think I get personally attached to all my roles. My last super hit film, Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti, where I've played a women priest, broke so many norms as it spoke about menstruation and how women are not impure. The film broke such taboos, giving so many women the platform to become women priests. This is something that will always be very close to my heart, so I think I'm very attached to my character Shabari." Ritabhari talks about the challenges one might face in the industry, one of them being comparing yourself with others, their successes and their journey. "I think when everyone is doing so much that you tend to compare yourself and your journey to other people, and I really feel like that can be a real heartbreaker and a real problem in your way because your journey has to be yours. If you keep comparing yourself, you'll never be happy and you'll never be grateful for the work you are getting. Ritabhari is a riveting book enthusiast. Her inspiration spans from Indian and Loiuse Hay to Shonda Rhimes’ book “The year of yes" to Shonda Rhimes as a producer, writer and Oprah Winfrey but especially her mother. As an actress, she looks up to Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra amongst many more. "Deepika Padukone is such a huge inspiration. Priyanka Chopra, the more you say, you still turn up short. Women in the business are surviving through this patriarchal and hard business. I get inspired by women every single day." Ritabhari Chakraborty adopted the Ideal school for the deaf when she was merely 16. She expresses how it has been a life changing journey as it keeps her grounded. Ritabhari strongly feels her purpose is more than being an actor and she feels proud to be the mother of 84 children. "When I was a kid, I realized that I can technically change the lives of these children and took it up and I'm so glad I did. This is one thing I'll always be proud of. More than how grateful they should be or they are of me, I am more grateful to be their parent, their foster guardian because being their foster guardian means that I get to make changes in the lives of all these kids. I get to see them grow up and become something of their own. And they're so alienated in the society deaf children are as they have the toughest time adjusting to the world and to people, everyone else. They made me one of their own and that makes my heart melts. I celebrate everything with them, all festivals, my birthday, all of it. This is a blessing; God blessed me in the biggest way possible." Ritabhari Chakraborty comments on body positivity and says one need not fret about their body type whether it is healthy or skinny. We should be proud of our bodies as its god given and hereditary as well. As she works for a school for the deaf, she realises just how important it is to have everything functioning just right. It is a miracle that we have bodies that breathe for us and function correctly. Looking at movie stars, magazine covers and celebrities makes us think that that is how we should look. She believes it is important to break that mentality. Additionally, Ritabhari sends her love to all her fans, "Thank you so much for loving me. Thank you so much for being part of my journey and the life I lead, what I do, my achievements, my failures, all of which I put in front of you and you get to see. One of the reasons I do not shy away from anything, whether it be posting about my health conditions or mental health issues on social media and talking about it openly in interviews is because I want you to know I’m a human. I'm flawed just like you and I'm perfect and amazing just like you. So if I can inspire even a small margin of people, women especially, to be themselves, work hard and achieve their dreams, I think that would mean a lot to me." Women in the business are surviving through this patriarchal and hard business. I get inspired by women every single day. • Is a hangover curable by sweating it out?

Is a hangover curable by sweating it out? by Aishwarya Is a hangover curable by sweating it out? 4 November 2022 LIFESTYLE Advertisement With all of the holiday parties, house guests, and office happy hours, there's a risk you'll drink a little too much one of these nights. That can make for a difficult morning. Of course, we're talking about the dreadful hangover. Everyone has their solution for resolving the issue. Maybe it's a chilly shower and a cup of black coffee. Perhaps it's simply returning to sleep for a few hours. You've probably heard about a variety of hangover remedies. A common misconception is that a rigorous workout will help you sweat out a hangover. Although lifting weights or swimming laps after overindulging may help alleviate your guilt, there is no concrete evidence that exercising out after drinking can help you feel more human faster. You could be better off simply resting and hydrating during the day. Can you, therefore, sweat out your hangover to recover faster? Many people swear by it, whether it's going for a morning run or spending 20 minutes in the hot tub. Is it, indeed, effective? Fortunately, some of the world's most brilliant brains have pondered the same question. The British Journal of Sports Medicine investigated the relationship between physical activity and alcohol use in terms of health and death. The findings demonstrated that exercising at the recommended physical activity level — at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity per week — mitigates some of the hazards and negative effects of alcohol. That isn't the same as healing your current hangover, but exercise has shown promise in combating some of the overall harm caused by drinking. "No compelling evidence exists to show that any conventional or complementary intervention is useful for preventing or treating alcohol hangover," according to a BMJ article published through the National Institutes of Health. This includes anecdotal classics such as raw egg yolks, over-the-counter hangover cures, dog hair, and, yes, exercise. "The most effective strategy to avoid the symptoms of an alcohol-induced hangover is to practise abstinence or moderation," it says. Before you go to the gym, understand the hazards and potential benefits of working out while hungover: Dehydration: Alcohol is a stimulant, which means it causes the body to lose more water than it takes in (through urination and perspiration). Many hangover symptoms, such as dry mouth, headaches, and nausea, are commonly caused by this. Exercising and sweating might dehydrate you even more. You may be able to work out later in the day if you can drink enough to feel better, but don't use exercise as a cure. It may simply make you feel worse if you are dehydrated. Brain Fog: One of the adverse effects of excessive drinking is difficulty concentrating. When lifting weights or performing cardio on a machine, you're much more likely to harm yourself or someone else simply because you're distracted. Discomfort and Anxiety: Drinking excessively imposes stress on the body, making everything more difficult, including exercise. Your body requires time to mend, rehydrate, and recover from a hangover. A rigorous workout before you've healed can put your body under even more strain. In other words, working out when you're already feeling lousy isn't going to help. However, if your hangover symptoms are moderate, a brisk workout may aid in your recovery. Movement can help relieve stress by increasing blood flow, releasing endorphins, and relaxing tight muscles and joints. After all, physical activity produces "feel-good" chemicals and hormones that enhance energy and mood. Keep in mind that doing exercise will not help your body absorb alcohol faster. Any advantages of exercise are related to symptom alleviation rather than "curing" the hangover. Can you, therefore, sweat out your hangover to recover faster? Many people swear by it, whether it's going for a morning run or spending 20 minutes in the hot tub. • Male Fashion and Masculinity

Male Fashion and Masculinity by Priti Sharma Male Fashion and Masculinity 8 November 2022 FASHION Advertisement “Fashion is knowing who you are, what you want to say, and not giving a damn.”- Orson Welles. A flower of creativity has blossomed in men’s fashion in recent years, igniting the menswear renaissance and refashioning archaic historical ideas of what it means to be masculine or feminine. In particular, feminine and masculine have been shaped and constrained by the gendered expectations of fashion: skirts and dresses are girly, whereas suits are for men; heels are for women, and sports or athletic gear is more masculine. This debate over who should wear what has persisted throughout history. Because of these harmful ideas about what it means to be a man, men are expected to dress nicely to be considered "truly masculine," or else they become weak, frail, feminine, or gay. But none of these terms—"feminine," "gay," "soft," or "fragile"—should ever be used as a derogatory epithet. “The ‘manly men’ are those who have the strength and courage to dress in whatever they are confident and comfortable with and most importantly of their preference.” For many centuries, the way men dressed was regulated—with strict guidelines—in terms of their position in the social hierarchy. Fashion has long been political and associated with power. Men in the seventeenth century were demonstrating traits of power when they appeared in flamboyant velvet and lace ensembles, caps decorated with ostrich feathers, and red-heeled shoes. The French Revolution ushered in significant change as well as the beginnings of more gender-neutral male attire. Male fashion these days follows different channels of transformation. The regular grooming of males is increasingly including makeup. The goal of skincare for men does not include making them seem attractive. In Western consumer shops, the moisturizer was formerly prohibited, but today it's ubiquitous, according to Gough. Along with other roles traditionally held by women, such as parenting and cooking, "makeup is one of the last bastions of femininity that males are creeping onto." Is the future of masculinity being defined by current trends in fashion? Probably, yes. Billy Porter's performance as "a living piece of political art" as he walked the Oscars red carpet in a tuxedo ball gown is evidence of the changes that have taken place, but when might those Hollywood fantasies come true for the average person? While certain Dusty Springfield-inspired miniskirts (from Charles Jeffrey) are regarded a tad "full-on," leopard print, neon, and "mirts"—men's skirts—are highlighted in British GQ's chart of menswear trends for Autumn/Winter 2019. Harry Styles utilizes the language of fashion to debunk common notions about what it means to be a man. Styles has now been able to modify the stereotypical image of conventional masculinity that the media marketed during his One Direction days as an ultra-male womanizer by changing his appearance. He cheerfully explains that he cherishes being in touch with his femininity as he openly flaunts nail paint, glittery suits, tutus, tiaras, and gowns today. No less of a man is Styles as a result of this. However, the boundaries imposed by toxic masculinity are starting to dissolve as menswear possibilities finally move away from this constricting gendered split. In December 2020, Styles became the first guy to appear alone on the cover of Vogue while proudly wearing a dress. Many people appreciated his cover, but it also sparked debate. In response, conservative writer Candace Owens tweeted, "There is no civilization that can thrive without strong males... Bring back the strong guys”. When he shared another image of himself posing for his Variety cover shot in a baby blue pleated suit with white ruffles and a V-neck cut, Styles deftly flipped her statements on their head by explicitly repeating them. His article exposes the toxic masculinity that permeates our culture and demonstrates the fact that a guy may define what it means to be "manly" for himself. Whether he is wearing a dress or not, he is still just as much of a man. Contrasted sharply with 19th-century fashion, which grew much more gender-specific, is this opulently masculine style. Men who wore skirts stopped wearing them once trousers became the norm. The "gentleman" was developed, and the suit developed into the pinnacle of masculine style, signifying male virility, power, and professionalism. In the modern office, menswear nearly always centers on the suit, which is often simple and dark in color. The tie, another not-so-subtle emblem of manhood, completes the look. However, the boundaries imposed by toxic masculinity are starting to dissolve as menswear possibilities finally move away from this constricting gendered split. While the western world is comfortable with women wearing trousers and male attire but a slight change in male fashion and beauty standards questions their masculinity. Because of cultural changes, there is no longer a harmful clothing code for being a guy. Even Daniel Craig attended the most recent James Bond premiere in a pink velvet suit. Daniel Craig's ability to dazzle the red carpet in a vision of pink illustrates just how much the idea of "manliness" has altered. As Harry Styles has demonstrated, being a man today can mean anything one wants it to mean. The'manly guys' are those who have the guts and strength to dress whatever they like. #MaleFashion #Masculinity #Feminine #Manly #Gender #GenderSpecific #BillyPorter #HarryStyles #Masculine #DanielCraig #Skincare #MakeUp SEARCH The Rich Heritage of Indian Handloom FASHION Fashion In The 19th Century FASHION Colour Psychology in Fashion: Explained FASHION The Influence Of Kanye West On Fashion FASHION K-Pop Fashion And Its Impact On Global Wardrobe FASHION POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Shriniwas Kodape AiSPi Wanderlust Diaries: Marzook, L’Afshar, And A Fashion Bender In Mumbai 25 April 2025 FASHION By Anushka Uniyal Kiyaan Silver: Timeless Jewellery For Every Woman 27 March 2025 FASHION By Sakshi Batra The Shoe Faktory Success Story: Ishpreet Singh Gujral’s Bold Business Leap 27 March 2025 FASHION By Sakshi Batra From Reality TV To Real Success: Nibedita Paal’s Inspiring Story 27 March 2025 FASHION RELATED POSTS

  • The best picnic spots around the world - that you need to visit

The best picnic spots around the world - that you need to visit by Aishwarya The best picnic spots around the world - that you need to visit 4 November 2022 LIFESTYLE Advertisement Scotch eggs, cheese, and champagne may sound like the ideal picnic, but add views of a rose garden, the beach, or a wildebeest stampede and it becomes even more spectacular. Picnics are everyone's favourite. So let’s see some of the best places to have your picnic, the next time! Beach picnic in Rapid Bay, Australia: Legend has it that when the explorer Colonel Light landed in Rapid Bay aboard HMS Rapid in 1830, he said he'd scarcely seen a better place, and it's difficult to disagree. The bay's sandy beach is nestled beneath cliffs that overlook the ocean and is only a 90-minute drive from Adelaide on South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula. The sea is at its warmest between October and May, so you can relax on the beach after feasting on local cheese, bread, and McLaren Vale wine from neighbouring vineyards. You can also snorkel or dive to encounter leafy sea dragons beneath the bay's jetty, as well as cowfish, pufferfish, and the rare bull ray in the nearby coral. Tanzanian bush picnic at Sanctuary Kusini: What does a picnic while viewing a wildebeest stampede sound like? Sanctuary Kusini is Tanzania's only permanent camp in the distant south of the Serengeti, overlooking grassy plains teeming with predators all year. You may have a picnic in the main lodge, which is built around a cluster of kopjes (rocky outcrops), giving you front-row seats to the Great Migration. Alternatively, you can get a hamper and have a bush picnic. Wildlife picnic in Kumana National Park, Sri Lanka: Set up your picnic basket on the banks of the river that flows through Kumana National Park, an hour's drive from Arugam Bay on Sri Lanka's east coast. As you sip your Ceylon tea, you may notice deer, wild buffalo, elephants, or leopards quenching their thirst in the river. Alternatively, spread down a blanket in Kumana Villu, a 202-hectare mangrove swamp where painted storks feed their fledglings in the treetops and pheasant-tailed jacana swim about floating nests. To avoid the annual rain, the area is best explored between April and September. Ayu in the Wild, a luxury tour company, creates customised tours with a focus on ecological and slow travel - and it can even prepare a picnic. Cherry blossom picnic in Tohoku, Japan: Try digging into an obento lunch box with a glass of sake at a table amid hundreds of pink cherry blossoms if you thought a picnic in a rose garden was romantic. Tohoku Local Secret Tours will arrange a private hanami (flower viewing) picnic on the grounds of the 1,200-year-old Shiogama Shrine in Sendai, in the Tohoku area of northern Japan, and a local musician will serenade you on a three-stringed shamisen. After your picnic, you can visit the shrine grounds. Rose garden picnic in Sacramento, California: Sacramento, known as the Farm-to-Fork Capital, is home to California's largest farmers market, so stock up on fresh vegetables and wine from the adjacent Napa and Sonoma Valleys. After you've finished your picnic, you can relax on the seats at McKinley Park Rose Garden in the city's east, which has over 1,000 rose bushes and tree roses. Every year, new types are sown. Visit between March and May to view the blossoms at their peak. What does a picnic while viewing a wildebeest stampede sound like? • The Lockdown Masks

The Lockdown Masks by Aiyra Baig The Lockdown Masks 1 November 2020 FASHION Advertisement During these trying times, skincare seems like a great idea. All these days at home are actually a blessing for our skin; no dust, dirt, travelling, pollution, junk food or the harsh sun. Therefore, no damage and happy skin. With all the extra time at hand, go an extra mile and pamper your face with some homemade face masks made from ingredients you can find in your kitchen cabinet. Grandma’s secret – Besan Face mask Mix besan (split chickpea flour) with a pinch of turmeric, milk and rose water. Scrub it on your face in a circular motion and wait for it to dry. Rinse with close water in 5-10 minutes. Besan helps to absorb excess oil from the skin including impurities while also retaining moisture. Caffeine Hydration Mix one tablespoon each of coffee powder and honey well together. Apply and wash it off after 10 minutes. Coffee is rich in antioxidants, kills cells and removes impurities, making the skin smoother and brighter. It is also an excellent exfoliator and helps in stimulating blood flow, which reduces acne and even cellulite and stretch marks. Honey acts as a moisturizer and diminishes signs of ageing. Bright Banana (*not for oily skin) Mash a ripe banana and mix it with a little bit of honey. Apply it on your face and wash off after 15 minutes. Banana is rich in potassium and helps to moisture and hydrate dry skin, making it soft and supple. It also lightens dark spots. The 101 cure mask Mix freshly prepared aloe vera gel with fresh cucumber paste/juice, yoghurt and honey. Cleanse your face and leave this face mask for 20-30 minutes. Using this twice a week helps to detan your skin. Aloe vera also has antibacterial properties which helps to treat pimples and acne, giving a smooth skin texture. it also lightens your skin and removes blemishes and dark spots, effectively de-pigmenting your skin. Egg peel off Add a few drops of lemon juice to an egg-white mix well. Apply it well over your face and neck, wait for it to dry and peel it off with water. Egg whites shrinks your pores, firms your skin by removing excess dirt, oil and dead cells on your face while also removing blackheads. Lemon juice naturally contains vitamin C, an antioxidant that may help reduce skin damage and premature ageing. Due to its high pH levels, it has astringent qualities; lemon can decrease oil on the skin and reduce inflammation. Oat scrub Make a smooth paste by mixing oatmeal, honey and rosewater. Scrub it well and leave it on for ten minutes before rinsing with water. Oatmeal contains antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds that soothe itchy, dry and irritated skin. This face mask gives you instant radiant-looking skin. #impurities #cells #supple #eggwhite #rosewater #blemishes #honey #moisture #irritated #banana #tumeric #brighter #stimulating #milk #dryskin #clean #lighten #exfoliator #pamper #blackheads #acne #itchy #damage #pores #yoghurt #smoother #skincare #shrink #dark #soft #oatmeal #pimples #oil #kitchen #flow #coffee #ingredients #besan #detan #radiant #antibacterial #lemon #hydrate #spots #skin #cucumber #ageing #inflammation #facemask #blood SEARCH The Rich Heritage of Indian Handloom FASHION Fashion In The 19th Century FASHION Colour Psychology in Fashion: Explained FASHION The Influence Of Kanye West On Fashion FASHION K-Pop Fashion And Its Impact On Global Wardrobe FASHION POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Shriniwas Kodape AiSPi Wanderlust Diaries: Marzook, L’Afshar, And A Fashion Bender In Mumbai 25 April 2025 FASHION By Anushka Uniyal Kiyaan Silver: Timeless Jewellery For Every Woman 27 March 2025 FASHION By Sakshi Batra The Shoe Faktory Success Story: Ishpreet Singh Gujral’s Bold Business Leap 27 March 2025 FASHION By Sakshi Batra From Reality TV To Real Success: Nibedita Paal’s Inspiring Story 27 March 2025 FASHION RELATED POSTS

  • India Is Finally Having A Major Fashion Moment

India Is Finally Having A Major Fashion Moment By Anushka Sharma India Is Finally Having A Major Fashion Moment 23 March 2024 FASHION Advertisement In the year of 2023. Mumbai lit up with the sparkle of Christian Dior's Autumn 2023 collection. It wasn't just another fashion show; it was a historic moment, marking Christian Dior's first-ever standalone show in India. The buzz reverberated across the internet, with clips flooding TikTok, Instagram, and beyond. When high-profile stars like Gigi Hadid and Zendaya adorned themselves in elegant saris, the message was clear: India had stepped onto the global fashion stage in style. For too long, fashion has been synonymous with exclusivity and elitism. While movies like "The Devil Wears Prada" may glamorize this image, it no longer resonates with today's society. Today’s society craves genuinity. Social media has democratized fashion, giving rise to influencers who speak directly to our hearts and minds. Fashion is no longer confined to runways; it's a conversation happening on the same platforms we use every day. And with that conversation comes a demand for inclusivity, diversity, and representation. We've made strides in embracing body and racial diversity, but cultural representation remains a challenge. Fashion is a universal language, yet its narrative has often been dominated by a narrow Western perspective. It's time to broaden that narrative and celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures that shape our world. Fashion should reflect the diversity of its audience, honoring traditions from every corner of the globe. In a recent event in London, Megha Kapoor, Vogue’s former India's Head of Editorial Content, highlighted a troubling trend. Content in Indian languages was deemed unfit for the world of high fashion, perpetuating a colonial mindset that devalues indigenous cultures. This attitude is changing, but it's a reminder that progress is still needed to break free from outdated notions of superiority. Fashion has always been woven into the fabric of my family's identity. From eagerly watching my mother adorn herself for special occasions to bonding over the choice of fabrics and accessories, fashion was more than just clothing—it was a connection to our heritage. This sentiment is echoed by Maria Grazia Chiuri, the artistic director of women's at Christian Dior, who recognizes India's rich history in textile craftsmanship as integral to its culture. India's influence on fashion stretches back thousands of years, with its mastery of textiles dating back to ancient times. The legacy of the Mughal Empire infused Indian fashion with intricate details and exquisite embellishments, setting the stage for centuries of innovation. Today, as the fashion industry undergoes a transformation, India's heritage is taking center stage once again. Christian Dior's landmark show in Mumbai is more than just a fashion event; it's a testament to India's cultural legacy. Just as Fendi's show at the Great Wall of China sparked a renaissance in Chinese luxury, we can only hope that this moment will reignite interest in Indian fashion and history on a global scale. It's time for fashion to embrace its role as a cultural ambassador, celebrating diversity and heritage with every stitch and seam. In an exclusive interaction, we sat down with Ishita to deep dive into the world of content creation in an ever-evolving digital landscape, what drives her to create relatable content for audiences, lifestyle and grooming hacks, the importance of self-care and her approach to personal development. "Work's been incredible. If I talk about my typical work day, it has a lot of team huddles, meetings with brands/agencies, and ideating/scripting for future content and shoots," Ishita shares as she delves into the busy world of a lifestyle influencer. Her days are filled with brainstorming sessions and collaborations that allow her to craft content that resonates with her audience. As we settled in for our chat, we were eager to know more about Ishita's creative journey. "It's fascinating how life takes us on unexpected paths," she began. "In 2018, I started freelancing in social media and content roles, which eventually led me to work for a food blog. While creating videos for the blog, I rediscovered my passion for creative direction. That's when the idea of starting my own YouTube channel struck me like lightning!" Ishita's journey is a testament to the diverse backgrounds that lead one to digital content creation. "Despite my academic background – a postgraduate degree in financial economics and preparing full-time for the UPSC examinations – my heart has always been set on creative direction, filmmaking, editing, and digital media since my early school days," she revealed. Within three months of diving into full-time content creation on YouTube, Ishita gained a massive audience of over 100K subscribers. Naturally, we were curious about her secret sauce for creating relatable content regularly. "Inspiration comes from everywhere," she said. "From recent travels to magazine archives, movies, and even my friends – they all contribute to my creative process. But the real magic lies in the women around me – my friends, family, and women in power. Their confidence and authenticity draw me in, and I strive to push the same energy into my online content." The most fulfilling part of being a creator, according to Ishita, is the heartfelt messages she receives from women who resonate with her posts. "When someone tells me that my content helped them find what works best for their body type or boosted their confidence in what they wear, it's truly heartwarming," she shared with a warm smile. Of course, with a hectic schedule, self-care becomes essential. Ishita's self-care rituals include her beloved cup of coffee and spending quality time with her furry friends. "My dogs are my stress-busters," she admitted. "But I also find joy in cycling, working out, and spending time with my friends – those little moments of bliss keep me balanced." In the realm of fashion, comfort is key for Ishita. "I've been all about comfort lately," she laughed. "Joggers or cargo pants paired with an oversized tee are my go-to fits. I believe you can look stylish without sacrificing comfort!" For aspiring creators looking to grow personally and professionally, Ishita has some golden advice. "Stay focused on your goals and treat every day like it's day one," she emphasised. "Collaborate with others, be open to feedback, and engage authentically with your audience. Stay curious and explore new creative avenues – that's the path to growth!" As our delightful conversation neared its end, we couldn't resist asking Ishita about her upcoming projects. "Exciting content pieces are in the works with brands and agencies," she revealed with a twinkle in her eye. "Keep your eyes peeled for more in the coming months!" Her journey teaches us the value of staying true to ourselves, finding inspiration in everyday moments, and embracing personal growth with open arms. • Anxiety

SOCIETY by Anadi Gupta Anxiety 27 July 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Anxiety feels different for everyone. Its symptoms can last for a long time, or come and go. Anxiety is tough, not just for the people that have it but also for those who are stuck with them. It is understandably confusing at times. So, here are some things for you to remember when being with someone with anxiety. No one likes to be defined by the one fault that they have in themselves. They are more than their anxiety. If you really want to care and do something for a person suffering from anxiety then always make them realize that you appreciate the individual going through this phase and you really want to be supportive towards them. It can make them exhausted easily. It causes people to live in hypertension as they get overwhelmed and sad very quickly. Because of hypertension their mind always stays unstable and their body stays highly activated and all of this causes fatigue. If you see someone panicking then at that time they don’t want you to ask if they are fine or not because you already know the answer. The best way to help them at the time is listen to their needs and if they ask you to leave them alone, just leave them alone without forcing them to react furthermore. They don’t always express but they appreciate you sticking by them. They know you are not supposed to deal with their irrationality but you are still sticking by them. They know their reactions can be very hurtful and hard for you to digest and there can be a few things that you like to do but you are not able to do them because of them. There is one thing which affects the person with anxiety and the people around them and that is they over think situations a lot, almost everything. Results of over thinking may end in hurting the people around them. But they know your value no matter how subtle their responses are. Over thinking causes many misunderstandings between people. It can happen because of the traumatic incidents they have faced in the past. It is harder for them to let go of things as easily as people not dealing with anxiety can. Changes can be very difficult for the individuals with anxiety. Everybody has a comfort zone and getting out of it is very difficult even if it may seem normal. When they face a big change, it can take them a lot longer to settle back down and handle situations like before and deal with that zone again. You just need to be a little more patient and understanding while dealing with those suffering from anxiety. They are doing their best and are trying their best. Sometimes all it takes is a person who can listen to them carefully without any judgments or opinions as it becomes easier to communicate if they feel protected with you. They are very well known from the fact that their anxieties are irrational but it does not stop them from worrying. Sometimes due to anxiety and panic attacks a person can be very exhausted and it can be possible that they would need some time alone and you may have to understand the fact that they are not ignoring you while doing that. They sometimes just need some time for themselves, to understand and ponder upon their self-worth and what they are doing in life. Sometimes it can be possible that when you are telling them incidents very excitedly but they could not pay attention and you can’t feel their presence in that moment. It is not their fault as because of the instability of their brain they have a tougher time concentrating. It’s completely all right to be a person who suffers from anxiety. It does not define anyone. It can be a struggle at times but what matters the most is how you fight against it and how you come out at the other end. That is what makes a person stronger than anybody else. It is not your weakness. Individuals with anxieties are the same as other people. They have fun, like adventures and experience the same feelings and things as everybody else. • Hebajasmi Unveils Captivating New Collection For SS25: A Masterpiece Of Art And Fashion

Hebajasmi Unveils Captivating New Collection For SS25: A Masterpiece Of Art And Fashion By Anushka Sharma Hebajasmi Unveils Captivating New Collection For SS25: A Masterpiece Of Art And Fashion 10 September 2024 FASHION Advertisement As the spotlight shines brightly on Dubai Fashion Week , HEBAJASMI , the Dubai-based couture brand known for its exquisite evening gowns, prepares to unveil its highly anticipated Spring/Summer 2025 collection titled “State of Art.” Set to debut on the 3rd of September at the D3 Stadium, this collection promises to be a striking representation of the brand’s core principles: quality, innovation, and craftsmanship. Since its inception in 2019, HEBAJASMI has captivated the world of couture with its masterful creations that celebrate femininity through structured, elegant designs. With “State of Art”, the brand continues to elevate its identity by exploring the intersection of fashion and art in new and imaginative ways. A Harmonious Blend of Nature and Surrealism: “State of Art” reflects a sophisticated fusion of nature-inspired abstraction and surrealist influences, creating a visual language that is both bold and poetic. The collection is defined by an interplay of structured embroidery, abstract lace, and a contemporary silhouette that pays homage to the female form. This season, HEBAJASMI’s creative team has skillfully juxtaposed precision-cut designs with flowing volumes to craft garments that are at once sculptural and fluid. The result is a collection that celebrates the duality of structure and nature. While the sharp tailoring accentuates the precision and control of the design, the voluminous fabrics and abstract motifs evoke a sense of organic movement. HEBAJASMI has succeeded in creating pieces that don’t just adorn the body but transform it into a canvas for artistic expression. Design Elements: Abstract Elegance Meets Couture Craftsmanship Central to the “State of Art” collection is HEBAJASMI’s impeccable attention to detail. The collection features key elements such as lace, hand embroidery, and abstract embroidery prints, which add layers of complexity to the overall aesthetic. These design elements are meticulously executed to create an intricate balance between traditional craftsmanship and modern abstraction. In keeping with the theme, the color palette for Spring/Summer 2025 reflects a love for vibrant colors, ranging from soft pastels to bold, saturated hues. The combination of bright and muted tones is reminiscent of nature's ever-changing landscape, where the soft hues of dawn give way to the brilliance of the midday sun. This nuanced use of color highlights the brand’s ability to infuse life into each garment, much like the dramatic hues observed in natural and cultural landscapes. One of the signature aspects of the collection is the exaggerated circular volumes, which are designed to evoke the sense of wearable art pieces. These voluminous silhouettes are not only statement-making but also represent a nod to the brand’s dedication to pushing the boundaries of conventional fashion. Each garment becomes a conversation piece, inviting the wearer and onlookers to engage with it as more than just couture but as art. An Artistic Reflection of Nature, Culture, and Humanity In discussing the inspiration behind the collection, HEBAJASMI explains that State of Art was born from an admiration for the vibrant colors and structures observed in daily life. The collection draws inspiration from the natural world, human artifacts, and cultural elements, weaving these themes into a cohesive fashion narrative. The blend of abstraction and surrealism seen in the garments reflects an exploration of how fashion can mirror the complexity and beauty of the world around us. The collection is an ode to artistic expression in its many forms. By translating the intricate details of nature and the boldness of culture into its designs, HEBAJASMI reaffirms its position as a brand that sees fashion not merely as a medium for creating clothing but as a form of artistic storytelling. Event Details and Anticipation for Dubai Fashion Week Dubai Fashion Week will provide the perfect backdrop for the grand debut of “State of Art”.
