- Sneak Peek into Restaurant Kitchens
by Aparajita Jaiswal Sneak Peek into Restaurant Kitchens 6 July 2022 FOOD Advertisement Advertisement Should you or should you not look behind the restaurant kitchen doors You are celebrating your promotion at work at your favorite restaurant and you have ordered a tasty, locally grown organic meal. You indulge completely to savor your food, while feeling good that your life appears to be just perfect. What could be better? Well, as a starter: the conditions in which your food is prepared. Food with attitude is okay, but food with hygiene is rather more important. Ever wondered whether or not the food, we tend to treat ourselves with at restaurants, is prepared maintain the standard conditions of cleanliness and hygiene? Ever thought of having a sneak peek into the kitchen of your favorite restaurant and say Hi to the chefs? Maybe you should, once in a while. Good food is definitely good vibes until you get sick because of the low standard of cleanliness and hygiene at restaurants and eateries. Catching food infections at a restaurant is the worst nightmares of their guests, more commonly evident in children. Customers would obviously wish to dine in a restaurant that serves hygienic food and focuses on cleanliness. The point of concern here now is how do we decide which of the restaurant serves hygienic food and which of them do not maintain the standard hygiene conditions. As a usual ideology, it is assumed that the high standard five start restaurants serve the most hygienic food and maintain high standard cleanliness. Provided the fact that the entire staff of such a restaurant is well qualified and considerably trained, justifies such an image of the restaurant in people’s minds. People usually prefer the high standard and obviously expensive restaurants over the shabby, précised or pinpoint restaurants with a moderate yet considerable ambience and quality services. This preferentiality is due to the assumption of the fact that the more you pay, the higher quality of services you avail and thus the food served must be hygienic enough. The actual fact might be that you end up paying for the ambience and services provided more than over the food served. Must give this a thought! Taking the quality of food served and hygiene maintained into consideration, there is always a chance that due to such high maintenance of the 5-star restaurants, they have an access to well-furnished technology as well. There are always freezers which help them store food for longer period of time. In fact, the food served in all the franchises of large and renowned brands, have a supply of their raw materials, always in a frozen form. Nobody would actually want to eat something that is in the refrigerator of the house for a day or two, but readily enjoy such meals in the restaurants. Street foods, highly enjoyed and populous among the young, is considered to be oily and unhygienic by many. Several videos and pictures of the unhygienic conditions in which street food is prepared are timely circulated over the social media. People here tend to be very aware and concerned about the hygiene maintained and threaten the owners of small stalls by recording their videos and posting over the social media negative review or feedback. However, the fact that a considerable proportion of the entire population within a metropolitan city relies upon the street food cannot be taken for granted. What else could make the best example, but the Vada Pav in Mumbai is a staple diet for everyone, be it employees, strugglers or anyone as such. Do people here talk about hygiene? Obviously not! Is your health adversely effected by Vada Pav? Obviously not! It is not all about the quality of services provided, the fact that these street foods are freshly prepared everyday and you can actually witness the food being prepared and immediately served is what makes it safe. The fact to thus understand is that the points to consider while choosing which restaurant to dine in, shouldn’t just the ambience or the quality of service provided but the quality of food, the raw materials used, the steps taken by the cooks and serving staff to maintain hygiene and of course the freshness of the food served. You cannot form a general opinion regarding the hygiene conditions of restaurants based upon the hierarchy of restaurants. The places like food stalls can serve hygienic food as well. The high standard restaurants and at times fail to do so as well and vice versa. You, as a consumer need to wisely choose among all these restaurants. Make sure that you dine to be healthy and fine. - Changes in Fashion
Changes in Fashion by Neha Pande Changes in Fashion 27 July 2020 FASHION Advertisement In the start of the 90’s or before no one would have thought that black women or brown could be on the cover of a magazine like Vogue or a plus size woman would be a leading role model or on the cover of 100’s of billboard but in today’s world it is quite common to have a beautiful black lady gracing the cover of huge magazines or a plus size woman on the billboards of Times Square. When someone like Beverly Johnson, the first Black model to come out on the cover of Vogue in the 1970’s, made it, it was a big deal for everyone. When Ashley Graham, the first plus size model, came on the cover of Vogue in 2015, it took the industry by storm. From then till now the fashion industry has been evolving and changing for the better, it has started to be more inclusive of all, be it different races, sizes, genders or people with skin disorders. The barriers of Fashion have been changing since the humans learnt what Fashion is. In Greece and Rome, plus sized women were termed as goddesses in the 18th Century which later changed to slim and fit women termed as gorgeous. From the corseted waists and large ball gowns of the European Empire to the loose and free flowing bohemian fashion of the 1960’s, all were significant landmarks in the fashion Industry. The 1940’s was the era when World War II was at its peak, men were at the War Zone while women were at work. This era was the era of women wearing boxer pants with buttoned up shirts and padded shoulder blazers. This fashion statement was because women wanted to get into the working arena and they wore more male oriented clothes to show it. The 1950’s ended the world war with all men back into the workforce and women being oppressed back into housework. The fashion of the era was ultra-feminine with a lot of fit and flare which was the brainchild of Christian Dior who introduced fit and flare, slim shoulders unlike the 1940’s, narrow waist and full skirt which was inspired by the Victorian era. The 1960’s was a combined era of Hippie and Bohemian fashion with Spacy and futuristic fashion going neck to neck. The 1960’s was the start of the Northern Cali Hippie Movement with freedom to the extreme. This era had narcotics, drugs, alcohol and prostitution at its peak and it showed in their fashion with free-flowing dresses and bright colours. This era also gave birth to the famous singer and fashion icon Bob Marley. The 1970’s was the era of futuristic fashion which was due to NASA and its moon launch. This era introduced latex to the fashion industry and the fashion here was tight latex skirts or fitted bodycons with a futuristic vibe. It was also the era of Rock and Roll which gave birth to famous bands like Sex Pistols, The Ramous and the Clash and stars like Jimmy Hendrix. This era was also the Disco era which had vibrant and glittery colours contrasting to the Dark colours of the Rock and Roll. The 1980’s was the era of female empowerment and women getting into the workforce, the change in workforce demographics was huge as it showed the significant change and increase of women into various male dominated work fields. The working women of the era wore well fitted pants or pencil skirts with blazers and shirts. This era also gave birth to acid washed and ripped denim. The 1990’s was the era of sports wear like track pants, tank tops, platform sneakers and sporty tops which were rocked by famous people like Sporty Spice of the Spice Girls and Britney Spears. The 2000’s or our era is the era of amalgamation of all fashion from fit and flare of the 50’s to the funky fashion of the 70’s we have it all. We also are creating our own fashion like using matte colours in fashion with no makeup drives. Fashion is a reflection of society, it is not just merely looking pretty, it is much more than that. It is our history and our reflection as beings. From long leaves used as clothing by our early ancestors to the matte fashion of today it is all a part of our history and life. #FashionVogueWomenEraIndustrySkirtIcon SEARCH The Rich Heritage of Indian Handloom FASHION Fashion In The 19th Century FASHION Colour Psychology in Fashion: Explained FASHION The Influence Of Kanye West On Fashion FASHION K-Pop Fashion And Its Impact On Global Wardrobe FASHION POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Shriniwas Kodape AiSPi Wanderlust Diaries: Marzook, L’Afshar, And A Fashion Bender In Mumbai 25 April 2025 FASHION By Anushka Uniyal Kiyaan Silver: Timeless Jewellery For Every Woman 27 March 2025 FASHION By Sakshi Batra The Shoe Faktory Success Story: Ishpreet Singh Gujral’s Bold Business Leap 27 March 2025 FASHION By Sakshi Batra From Reality TV To Real Success: Nibedita Paal’s Inspiring Story 27 March 2025 FASHION RELATED POSTS

- 6 Disadvantages Of Being Pretty
6 Disadvantages Of Being Pretty by Akash Khatri 6 Disadvantages Of Being Pretty 1 October 2020 LIFESTYLE Advertisement “You look amazing” or “You look so pretty lucky you” Heard these often? If you belong to this category who has heard these kinds of lines a lot in her life from relatives to friends to colleagues then you know it too well that being very pretty is not a great thing or being lucky. Why? Because in the journey of life, you need to face a lot of problems just for being that little extra beautiful than the rest in your current circle. In this write up, I tried to discuss a few common problems that every pretty girl has faced in her life just for being pretty. Hope this would be relatable. Take a look below.. Less Female Friends :-Isn’t that obvious? We all know that “jealousy” is an inherent trait among girls. Well! Not all but most of the girls tend to fall in trap of that green monster whenever it comes to the outer appearance. Why? It’s simple. Because nobody wants to look a little lesser than the other. So, if you are the prettiest among all, probably you would tend to have less female friends. Accept it. No Introduction with Friend’s Partner :– More often than not girls always feel that if there is a better looking girl around them, then their boyfriend would probably end up having an affair with them. Like, seriously? Grow up..!! If your partner really loves you then no matter what, he will be with you and this much trust should be there in a couple. So, unfortunately if you are the better looking one than your girlfriend and if she is kind of insecure about her partner as well as her looks, then you have a bad news girl. You would probably never be introduced to her partner. Opinions & Invitations :– People would either have high opinions about you or they would talk shits. It’s either-or situation. Get it straight. When you are pretty and probably a little more than the rest then, either people would think that you are a snob and avoid inviting you to their parties and would prefer talking less to you. There will always be few unkind people who would bitch about you to make sure that you are not invited. Reason? They do not want others to pay attention to you, miss pretty face. As a result may be you would end up feeling left alone or lonely at times. But that is okay because they do not deserve your attention if they judge you. People are afraid to approach :– People will presume that you would anyways reject them so they never approach you in the first place. Even if they do, they would be really conscious around you that in no way make the equation comfortable for you. Love life:– In a commitment, great..! But God forbids if he looks average in comparison to you then he would always feel insecure about you. Because he would always feel that there is a possibility of you leaving him for better looking options, which might not be true. But, as he knows you are irresistible to look at, he would live in that constant fear of losing you. Consequences of this would not be great either as it would only complicate things between you and your partner. So, make sure you assure and reassure him about your commitment and love towards him. Less Friends of opposite gender :-Need friends but find none? Have you ever noticed that people always want to be your boyfriend and not just good friends? If yes, then you must know why. Who does not want to date a beautiful girl? But it is not mandatory that you would want them as partner, too. The moment you would reject their proposal they would abandon your friendship too (well mostly if not all). And as a result you end up having fewer friends from the opposite gender. Sad, but this is the harsh truth. It is not an universal theory but it happens a lot to pretty girls. Surely they can relate to few of the above discussed points. An advice to all the pretty girls out there, just be you and humble, the way you are. If you look great that definitely is not your fault. Just make sure you are a great person too because at the end that matters the most. Even if you see less people around you, don’t be upset because if people cannot appreciate the good in you and be your friend then it is their problem not yours. Remember, the person who is not perfect in his or her own way would always feel insecure and doubtful about their own existence and in return, they would be angry with you probably because they know your worth and are afraid to accept that truth. Just live your life and along the way you will surely find like-minded people who would embrace you without any hesitations and feelings of insecurities. Till then, be you, be beautiful, not only by outer appearance but from within too. Not for them, but for yourself. - Why India is the most depressed country in the world?
SOCIETY by Anadi Gupta Why India is the most depressed country in the world? 1 September 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement India is the world’s most depressed country and we don’t talk about it as much as we talk about other diseases, but you’ll be shocked to know that 300 million people worldwide are suffering from depression. Depression and bad mental health have been ignored as a serious issue since ages. Mental health is as important as physical health but sadly nobody takes it as a serious illness and avoid talking about it. People in India still take it as a taboo. A study reported in WHO, conducted for the National Care Of Medical Health, states that at least 6.5 per cent of the Indian population suffers from some form of the serious mental disorder, in spite of the rural-urban differences. Though there are effective measures and treatments, there is an extreme shortage of doctors and mental health workers like psychologists and psychiatrists. As reported latest in 2014, it was as low as ”one in 100,000 people”. The average suicide rate in India is 10.9 for every one lakh people and the majority of people who commit suicide are below 44 years of age. According to these data, India is in a serious mental health crisis but the attitude which Indians show towards it is not helpful at all. It won’t make any change. A major part of population of India is highly judgmental towards those who have any kind of mental illness. They don’t like to talk to such people because they think it will affect their mental health too. According to the surveys the people who understand it come from good socio-economic environment and are highly educated. The young kids are coming forward to support many mental health campaigns because they understand and are facing stress a lot. India has less resources and more population but one of the main aspects in which we highly fail is the stereotypical thinking of the people who live here. People still are blinded by the fake traditions and rituals. But depression is a serious mental illness which should be taken seriously otherwise it can cause long lasting severe feelings of sadness, hopelessness and loneliness. There can be different symptoms for different people and it can also be differentiated according to gender. Many people mistook depression for sadness but it is more than just being sad and lonely. Symptoms of it can last from months to years. A person with depression cannot find pleasure or joy in anything. It gets very difficult for one to start a day and get off from the bed. There is just so much hopelessness in everything they do. Everything seems so tiring and difficult. If you see a person like this please tell him to get help if needed and get a proper treatment otherwise it may result in us losing another life. Spread awareness against it, try to make people aware everywhere that mental peace and stability is the most important thing. Many celebrities are now breaking stereotypes and coming forward to talk about it publicly so people can realize its effects. Many mental health foundations are doing great work for the cause. And we can now only hope for things to get better. - Sushmita talks about SushDazzles, her YouTube channel
Sushmita talks about SushDazzles, her YouTube channel by Aparajita Jaiswal Sushmita talks about SushDazzles, her YouTube channel 1 October 2020 Advertisement In a freewheel chat with Aparajita Jaiswal, Sushmita, a beauty influencer reveals that she recently hit 100k subscribers on her YouTube channel, SushDazzles. She is an introvert, optimist and a perfectionist, working towards making her dreams come true. As she grows, Sushmita would like to advocate sustainable and vegan options for beauty and skincare products. Sushmita, born and bred in Kolkata, is a beauty influencer with her very own YouTube channel, SushDazzles. She grew very quickly and is celebrating as she recently hit 100k subscribers on her YouTube channel. Sushmita creates celebrity inspired makeup looks and does product reviews on her YouTube channel. She jump-started her career from modelling and then decided to commence her very own YouTube channel, embarking on an independent journey towards being a beauty influencer. “I can unmistakably say that my subscribers inspired me to recreate celebrity looks,” Sushmita says. “I initially started with everyday makeup looks except for one or two random celebrity looks from time to time.” A few videos later she started recreating celebrity-inspired looks using affordable drugstore products. “I noticed in the analytics that many of my subscribers were Gen-Z and were too young to afford high-end products,” Sushmita reveals. Sushmita’s viewers started loving these tutorials and found them extremely helpful and her channel quickly started becoming popular. Sushmita is a typical night owl. She finds the calmness of the night inspiring enough to work on her videos. “A typical day in the week would look like lots of editing and ample number of shoots. I tend to fit in my workout at least thrice a week.” In the last two years, Sushmita has worked with multiple renowned Indian as well as international brands, majority of which are Swedish, American and Korean. “My primary focus is to introduce cruelty free, vegan, plant based and sustainable products to my audience, so whenever there’s an opportunity for me to work with such brands, I gladly accept.” She has worked with quite a few renowned makeup artists from Kolkata as a model. “I used to enjoy the process of getting ready for the shoot and was amazed by their finesse and artistry. It was then that I took an interest in makeup. Next thing I knew, I was watching a lot of YouTube makeup videos. I became familiar with the makeup techniques and terminologies. And my interest kept growing. Meanwhile, I decided to quit my job and start my YouTube channel.” There are multiple things everyone should keep in mind while working in the tough industry of influencers and in the digital world. According to Sushmita, patience, hard work and passion pays off in the end. “Like any other creative field, the most important thing is patience. Then comes hard work and you need to have passion for what you do. You need to love what you are doing and not look at it as a job.” “When I started, I had no experience of creating digital content. The first time I saw the interface of my editing software I started crying and I swear I thought I couldn’t do it. Then I pushed myself because failure was not an option for me. I made innumerable mistakes and I learned a lot from them. I don’t think I would have done anything differently considering the knowledge I have gained from these experiences.” “Coming up with new content is always one of the most challenging parts of the job. Also, since I review a lot of new products, I always run a risk of using something that might not suit me and hence damage my skin.” The number one key to success in the business is to be yourself, Sushmita says. “There is no one like you and that’s your super power. You will find your tribe and people will love you for who you are. My family has been the pillar of strength for me. And I have been reading this book called ‘The untethered Soul’ which is all about the spiritual awakening and the path of spiritual consciousness. The book greatly influenced my strength as well.” Sushmita talks about failures in the most positive manner. “I don’t treat anything as a failure. I treat it as a learning curve. There are times when I do feel a little demotivated, and there are ups and downs, but that feeling is only momentary. Instead of feeling bad about it I start analysing what went wrong and make sure to do it differently in future.” Competition in this industry can get tough, especially on the mind. “The only competition I have is with my own self. What I create today should be better than what I created yesterday. However if things get tough, I take a break, meditate and it helps me re-evaluate the situation, try to see things from a different perspective. The rat race might overwhelm you sometimes. It’s important to set yourself in the right direction.” Sushmita affirms that there is no particular skincare routine she follows to make sure her skin stays healthy and glowing. She tries various products on her review videos therefore constantly changing the products that she uses. Other than the products she uses on her skin, there are a couple of things she constantly keeps in mind throughout the day when it comes to her skincare. “I wash my face twice a day, morning and night, and mainly focus on cleansing and moisturizing. I make sure to use a good moisturizer and sunscreen during the day and vitamin-C serum at night. Other than the basics, my diet takes care of the rest.” Sushmita is a very mindful shopper and plans way before she shops. “I pick a store and then go for it. My favourite high end brands are Smashbox and Huda Beauty. I always wanted to try Charlotte Tilbury. Although, I don’t have any brand that I can’t stand, I wish all brands were cruelty free and Vegan. As I grow, I would like to advocate sustainable and vegan options. - Eco-friendly clothing is the need of the hour
Eco-friendly clothing is the need of the hour by Meenal Chand Eco-friendly clothing is the need of the hour 1 December 2020 FASHION Advertisement With the adverse chaotic outburst of the nature we are witnessing and the trendy ‘local for vocal’, there’s no harm or I must say there’s more smartness in switching to sustainability. One thing that is much needed and should be updated is the fashion and clothing and if it’s in the good side without putting burden on the environment we live in what could be better than that? Advocating sustainable fashion, I must say clothing made from cotton ,jute etc would not only be eco friendly but it could give a big boost to the economy as well if one finds a way to make it more reasonable and classy. Infact, bigger brands have already started working on that and it’s more of a movement and process fostering change to fashion products and the fashion system towards greater ecological integrity and social justice. Sustainable fashion concerns more than just addressing fashion textiles or products. It comprises addressing the whole system of fashion. In pursuit of making considerable great amendments in the field and to seek divergence from same old fibres ,this could be a real helpful way! #ecofriendlyclothing #Fashion #sustainablefashion SEARCH The Rich Heritage of Indian Handloom FASHION Fashion In The 19th Century FASHION Colour Psychology in Fashion: Explained FASHION The Influence Of Kanye West On Fashion FASHION K-Pop Fashion And Its Impact On Global Wardrobe FASHION POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Shriniwas Kodape AiSPi Wanderlust Diaries: Marzook, L’Afshar, And A Fashion Bender In Mumbai 25 April 2025 FASHION By Anushka Uniyal Kiyaan Silver: Timeless Jewellery For Every Woman 27 March 2025 FASHION By Sakshi Batra The Shoe Faktory Success Story: Ishpreet Singh Gujral’s Bold Business Leap 27 March 2025 FASHION By Sakshi Batra From Reality TV To Real Success: Nibedita Paal’s Inspiring Story 27 March 2025 FASHION RELATED POSTS
