SOCIETY by Anadi Gupta Anxiety 27 July 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Anxiety feels different for everyone. Its symptoms can last for a long time, or come and go. Anxiety is tough, not just for the people that have it but also for those who are stuck with them. It is understandably confusing at times. So, here are some things for you to remember when being with someone with anxiety. No one likes to be defined by the one fault that they have in themselves. They are more than their anxiety. If you really want to care and do something for a person suffering from anxiety then always make them realize that you appreciate the individual going through this phase and you really want to be supportive towards them. It can make them exhausted easily. It causes people to live in hypertension as they get overwhelmed and sad very quickly. Because of hypertension their mind always stays unstable and their body stays highly activated and all of this causes fatigue. If you see someone panicking then at that time they don’t want you to ask if they are fine or not because you already know the answer. The best way to help them at the time is listen to their needs and if they ask you to leave them alone, just leave them alone without forcing them to react furthermore. They don’t always express but they appreciate you sticking by them. They know you are not supposed to deal with their irrationality but you are still sticking by them. They know their reactions can be very hurtful and hard for you to digest and there can be a few things that you like to do but you are not able to do them because of them. There is one thing which affects the person with anxiety and the people around them and that is they over think situations a lot, almost everything. Results of over thinking may end in hurting the people around them. But they know your value no matter how subtle their responses are. Over thinking causes many misunderstandings between people. It can happen because of the traumatic incidents they have faced in the past. It is harder for them to let go of things as easily as people not dealing with anxiety can. Changes can be very difficult for the individuals with anxiety. Everybody has a comfort zone and getting out of it is very difficult even if it may seem normal. When they face a big change, it can take them a lot longer to settle back down and handle situations like before and deal with that zone again. You just need to be a little more patient and understanding while dealing with those suffering from anxiety. They are doing their best and are trying their best. Sometimes all it takes is a person who can listen to them carefully without any judgments or opinions as it becomes easier to communicate if they feel protected with you. They are very well known from the fact that their anxieties are irrational but it does not stop them from worrying. Sometimes due to anxiety and panic attacks a person can be very exhausted and it can be possible that they would need some time alone and you may have to understand the fact that they are not ignoring you while doing that. They sometimes just need some time for themselves, to understand and ponder upon their self-worth and what they are doing in life. Sometimes it can be possible that when you are telling them incidents very excitedly but they could not pay attention and you can’t feel their presence in that moment. It is not their fault as because of the instability of their brain they have a tougher time concentrating. It’s completely all right to be a person who suffers from anxiety. It does not define anyone. It can be a struggle at times but what matters the most is how you fight against it and how you come out at the other end. That is what makes a person stronger than anybody else. It is not your weakness. Individuals with anxieties are the same as other people. They have fun, like adventures and experience the same feelings and things as everybody else. There are times when things get difficult but these were a few tips on taking care of someone you love who also deals with anxiety. #Anxiety #Selfhelp #Anxietyattack #Mentalabuse #Hate #AnxietyAnxietiesSufferingfromanxietyPanicPanicattackPanicking #Panicattack #Mentalillness #Mentalhealth SEARCH Why India is the most depressed country in the world? • Is Africa The Next World Leader In Fashion

Is Africa The Next World Leader In Fashion By Anushka Sharma Is Africa The Next World Leader In Fashion 20 March 2024 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement In the vibrant tapestry of global fashion, Africa's presence is increasingly prominent, painting a picture of creativity, innovation, and economic prowess. With a burgeoning youth population, rapid urbanization, and the infusion of digital technologies, the continent's fashion landscape is undergoing a seismic transformation, poised to emerge as a formidable leader in the global fashion arena. From the bustling streets of Abidjan to the chic boulevards of Nairobi in Kenya, African cities are not only economic hubs but also veritable crucibles of fashion and design innovation. Despite facing challenges such as limited investment, nascent educational systems, and the imperative need for intellectual property protection, Africa's potential to shape the future of fashion remains undeniable. UNESCO's seminal report, "The African Fashion Sector: Trends, challenges, and opportunities for growth," unveiled in October 2023, illuminates the continent's trajectory towards fashion supremacy. Africa boasts a rich tapestry of raw materials, with 37 out of 54 countries producing cotton, rendering it a significant player in the global textile market. Moreover, the continent serves as both an exporter and importer of textiles, with a trade volume indicative of its burgeoning influence. A notable trend highlighted in the report is the growing demand for "Made-in-Africa" fashion, particularly among the youth demographic, who account for a significant portion of the continent's population. The burgeoning middle class further fuels this demand, catalyzing the emergence of new consumer markets and amplifying Africa's fashion footprint on the global stage. The digital revolution sweeping across Africa plays a pivotal role in fostering intra-continental trade and nurturing young talent. With 32 Fashion Weeks held annually, the continent serves as a crucible for haute couture, craftsmanship, and sartorial expression. The report forecasts a staggering 42 percent surge in demand for African haute couture over the next decade, underscoring the continent's rising prominence in the global fashion echelon. Despite the palpable momentum, UNESCO identifies four critical challenges that necessitate strategic interventions to unleash Africa's fashion potential. The most critical amongst these challenges is the imperative to bolster legal protections for designers and industry professionals, encompassing intellectual property rights, fair remuneration, improved working conditions, and the facilitation of professional unions. Investment in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) emerges as the second imperative, considering that these enterprises comprise 90 percent of Africa's fashion sector. Beyond their economic significance, SMEs serve as custodians of cultural diversity and are pivotal in fostering local employment opportunities, particularly for the continent's burgeoning youth population. Addressing environmental sustainability constitutes the third challenge outlined by UNESCO. While the fashion industry remains a significant contributor to environmental degradation, Africa possesses untapped potential to harness local materials, innovate sustainable textiles, and promote eco-conscious consumption patterns. Notably, the production of organic cotton fiber in Africa surged by 90 percent between 2019 and 2020, signaling a burgeoning movement towards sustainability within the continent's fashion landscape. Moreover, the report underscores the need to establish robust recycling channels to mitigate the environmental impact of the second-hand clothing market, which represents a significant segment of global imports. With 40 percent of discarded garments ending up in landfills, enhancing recycling infrastructure is imperative to foster a circular economy within the fashion industry. In conclusion, Africa stands at the precipice of a transformative epoch in the global fashion narrative. With its rich cultural heritage, burgeoning talent pool, and excellent, growing consumer base, the continent possesses all the prerequisites to ascend as a world leader in fashion. By surmounting challenges, fostering innovation, and embracing sustainability, Africa's fashion renaissance heralds a new dawn of creativity, inclusivity, and economic prosperity on the global stage. by Yashi Srivastava by Yashi Srivastava We Dare You To Drive On Some Of The Spookiest Roads In India! 22 February 2023 TRAVEL Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Do you believe in ghosts? Even if you don’t, you must have heard at least one story where a lady, draped in a white saree, and with sunken eyes as well as shabby bangs, walks down a hauntingly empty road! Yes? Many of us geeks have also watched a lot of online documentaries and horror movies to get that ghostly feeling around us. If you’re that interested in paranormal, then it’s time to give those horror movies/stories a break, because we have an exclusive list of dares for you to check off! That’s right! All you have to do is jump into your car for your personal horror adventure because there are some roads in India that have their own paranormal history, and we know you would love to uncover the truth behind them all! So, let’s get going and learn about some of the spookiest roads to drive on before you tell the world about how gutsy you’re for accepting this challenge, and then nailing it too! 1. Kashedi Ghat Mumbai- Goa Highway Perhaps the most popular among haunted roads in India, Kashedi Ghat is a stretch on the highway that is usually avoided by the travellers at night! Many people claim that there came to a halt abruptly, and that they get scratches on their bodies while they’re crossing the stretch. Many have also talked about seeing blood-thirsty witches on the highway. Creepy! The road is simple and smooth, and perfect for people who have motion sickness. We’d suggest you to go for a vehicle with anti-lock braking system and electronic brake force distribution which ensures better control and safety for you. 2. East Coast Road Chennai- Puducherry Road This beautiful yet spooky road is believed to be haunted by the ghost of a lady in white. People reckon that they often see a woman wearing white saree trying to distract the drivers, usually during night. People have also complained of sudden drop in temperature while having an encounter with this lady. Apart from that, you can also have little halts at beautiful museums and temples while crossing through this spooky road. This unwrinkled road will also offer you some spectacular views as you cruise through it. Let your car roar as you drive on this gorgeous road, and let the lady know that you’re there to play! We mean, you don’t want to miss the ‘lady in white’ in any case, do you? 3. Sathya Mangalam Wildlife Sanctuary NH-209, Tamil Nadu Known to be the most haunted road in the state, this place is believed to be haunted by the ghost of Veerappan, the legendary Indian Bandit! People driving through this road often see floating lights and hear people screaming their guts out! 4. Delhi-Cantonment Road Imagine a woman clad in white saree suddenly appearing on the road you’re driving , and chasing your vehicle at a full speed- that’s what she does on this quite popular road. People have very often also affirmed that their accelerator jams when they pass through this road. Delhi people, are you listening? 5. Barog Tunnel No. 33 Kalka-Shimla Railway Line Legend has it that during the construction of the tunnel, Col. Barog made a mistake that delayed the construction of the tunnel 33. Government charged him a fine of Rupee 1. It became so humiliating for him, that Colonel fell into depression, and shot himself. It is said that Colonel is often seen riding his horse or chatting with people inside the tunnel. Government have also tried to lock the tunnel, but the lock breaks down again and again. Of course, Mr. Barog also needs to see the beauty of the outside world. Visit the tunnel to admire the stunning beauty of Shimla, if not for the ghost of Colonel Barog. We hope that you are ready to take up this challenge and drive on these spooky roads and let us know what you saw in the comments. Don’t forget to take a camera with you to see if you are able to capture the silhouette or not! We’ll be waiting! Tired of life’s mundane routine? • Breakfast – Don’t Miss

By Akash Khatri Breakfast – Don’t Miss 15 June 2025 FOOD Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement My most favourite meal of the day – BREAKFAST! The first thing out of bed. The fun part: it can include anything, be it fresh orange juice, hot waffles, drooly pancakes with maple syrup, a bowl of cereal with fresh milk, oats garnished with pretty dry fruit, tasty French toast, a warm croissant, crispy bacon, PopTarts, fruits, berries, a slice of perfectly toasted bread, eggs in any form and not forgetting freshly brewed coffee. It sets the mood good for a day. People often skip breakfast in a rush to reach in time, to spend some more time in bed, because they are too tired to bother, they don’t feel hungry, they are bored of the same breakfast every day, or some other excuse, but it’s wrong. It is called the “most important meal of the day” for a reason. Research links eating breakfast to good health. It helps you kick start your metabolism as it is the first meal after you wake up thereby also helping you to burn calories throughout the day. It provides you with the fuel required to get you going through the day and avoids you to binge eat as it controls your appetite. Science has proved that a good breakfast is directly proportional to a better memory. This ‘first meal’ also lowers bad cholesterol levels in our body and prevents a number of other diseases such as diabetes, obesity, etc. A US study that analyzed the health data of 50,000 people over seven years, concluded that those who made breakfast the largest meal of the day had a lower body mass index (BMI) than those who ate a large lunch or dinner. Moreover, it breaks the overnight fasting cycle by replenishing the body with glucose. A healthy breakfast also contains all nutrients such as calcium, iron and B vitamins as well as protein and fibre which are very important for our body. Running late? Don’t worry, we’ll help: Prepare a week’s breakfast over the weekend or the night before such as overnight oats, fruit jars or healthy muffins. A pre-prepared breakfast saves you ample of time in the morning and can be picked up on the way to your destination. Try setting your alarm 10-15 minutes prior to your usual time so that you don’t skip breakfast. Figure out what you want to eat for breakfast the night before and set out dry ingredients or pans and bowls you would require so that you save time in the morning. Stock your cupboard with go-to breakfast foods like protein bars, low sugar cereals, smoothies, etc. Keep some breakfast foods in your car or workplace or handbag. According to nutritionists, one should eat breakfast within two hours of waking and it should be in the range of 25-35% of your guideline daily allowance, also known as GDA. A few quick breakfast ideas: Ø Avocado toast with eggs Top a slice of brown or multigrain bread with smashed avocado and a sunny-side-up/fried/baked egg or two sprinkled with some salt and pepper for taste. Ø Pancakes It can be finished with a handful of berries, chopped bananas, spread of peanut butter or chocolate spread or the old maple syrup. Ø The fruit toast My personal favourite, it’s super easy to make. Add your favourite nut butter with some chopped bananas on a toast with a garnish of chia seeds. Ø Fruit bowl The quickest to make. Precut fruits to make it even quicker, mix seasonal fruits together. The fun part- you can just add anything you like. I like to add some quinoa, honey and lemon too. Delicious! Ø Scrambled Mess Break a few eggs in a pan coated with a spray of oil. Add in your favourite veggies to add some colour like onions, chillies and bell peppers. I like to flavour it with some rosemary, thyme and basil leaves. You can also stick to the simpler version by just adding salt and pepper. Ø The overnight overload Take a jar and mix oats, chia seeds, berries of your choice, a dash of vanilla, almond or coconut milk and maple syrup. Refrigerate overnight. You can have it cold or warm it in the microwave for a minute. Add a banana and top it with some dry fruits. Ø Classic Quinoa Cook Quinoa with any kind of milk. Add sugar, cinnamon and cardamom for taste. This dish is high in protein. Ø Peanut butter oat cookies I like to add some semi-sweet chocolate chips for taste. Ø Banana Zucchini muffins I like to substitute all-purpose flour with wheat and butter with coconut oil to make it healthier. Ø Warm waffles Top it with a spoon of chocolate, peanut butter jelly, simply butter or fruits and maple syrup. Ø Simply Smoothies You can never go wrong with them; they are highly fulfilling and filled with proteins. Banana Dates Smoothie Strawberry Mango Smoothie Blueberry Yoghurt Smoothie Strawberry Spinach Smoothie Chocolate Oatmeal Smoothie Watermelon Mint Smoothie Pumpkin Carrot Smoothie Orange Smoothie Raspberry Peach Chia seeds Smoothie Beetroot Apple Smoothie Banana Honey Oatmeal Smoothie You can make endless more combinations, it just gets healthier. • Into The Enticing and Harmful World of Fast Fashion

Into The Enticing and Harmful World of Fast Fashion by Rupashree Ravi Into The Enticing and Harmful World of Fast Fashion 13 August 2022 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement What comes to your mind when someone says trendy, fashionable, and affordable? Of course, big brands like H&M, Zara, Forever 21, and Shein, which are widely popular and are known for their cheap and fashionable clothing. These are clothing giants that entice their loyal customer base with sales and exciting offers, and you cannot say no to them. But the cost of making these clothes comes at a heavy price. These brands are the biggest players in the fashion industry and are also among the most damaging industries for the environment. They are fast fashion retailers who bring out large quantities of a variety of products and allow consumers to get more fashion and product differentiation at a very low price. Stores like Zara, Forever 21 and H&M are the pioneers of fast fashion in the 21st century ‘Fast fashion’ is cheaply manufactured and low priced garments that copy the latest catwalk styles and get quick entry into retail stores in order to maximise on the current fashion trends. It is called the fast fashion model because it involves rapid design, mass production, and distribution as well as heavy marketing. Today, it takes less than fifteen days for a garment to move from the design stage to being sold physically in stores. The term has gained more prominence in recent times and is often used in conversations revolving around environmental consciousness as well as sustainability. This is extremely worrisome because the fashion industry, especially since the rise of fast fashion, has become the second largest consumer of water and is responsible for 10 per cent of carbon emissions and 20 per cent of wastewater globally. It also dries up water sources and pollutes waterways. This is because these fast fashion retailers use about 700 gallons of water to make one cotton shirt and about 2,000 gallons to make one pair of jeans. Moreover, the textile dyes that they use contribute to polluting these waterways as the chemicals leak into the water, which also poses health risks to the general population. Fast fashion has been growing at an unsustainable rate These brands also use synthetic fibres like polyester, nylon and acrylic which take several years to biodegrade. The fast fashion model is also an energy-intensive process. Even cotton is not an environment-friendly fabric to manufacture for fast fashion companies as they are exposed to a number of pesticides that are very harmful. So, what’s the solution? The alternative to fast fashion is sustainable fashion or eco-fashion. To counter the environmental damage caused by fast fashion, sustainable fabrics like wild silk, organic cotton, hemp, linen, and lyocell can be used in a responsible manner. We can certainly choose to shop in a more sustainable way, but getting involved with sustainable fashion does not necessarily require buying anything new. Sustainable fashion aims to be conscious and ethical Sustainable fashion brands like Brogger, Insom, Ka-Sha focus on bringing out cruelty-free products. They use fewer resources wherever possible to reduce impact and conserve water by using organic mills and ozone technology in its production to benefit people, plants, and animals. Some of these brands also give away their profits to charitable causes. Even vegan leather has become very popular in recent times. Local Indie fashion brands are becoming popular It is essential that we as consumers stop buying from these fast fashion companies and instead choose locally produced garments. Try opting for local Indian brands like Udd Stories or Anokhi that are made by indigenous communities. #FastFashion #SustainableFashion #EcoFashion #VocalForLocal #OOTD SEARCH Why does Fashion Need Fashion Shows FASHION From Dreams To Crowns: Anuradha Garg’s Inspiring Mrs. India Story FASHION Colour Psychology in Fashion: Explained FASHION Legendary Female Icons Who Made Fashion Statements In The 20th Century FASHION The House of Chanel: History FASHION POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Shriniwas Kodape The Snake That Wore Red: Inside The Vision Cultured™ Revolution 19 October 2025 FASHION By Sakshi Shah Francesca Bellettini Ushers In Gucci’s New Dawn 19 September 2025 FASHION By Shriniwas Kodape Dibba Studio: Weaving The Future Of Fashion At Thailand Fashion Week AW25-26 2 September 2025 FASHION By Shriniwas Kodape Aksstagga: Threads That Whisper Love, Memory, And Eternity 21 August 2025 FASHION RELATED POSTS Advertisement
