Suhani Shah Celebrating 25 years in Mentalism by Naisargi Devdher Suhani Shah Celebrating 25 years in Mentalism 2 September 2022 COVER STORIES Advertisement Even before understanding what fame and glamour is, a child understood what magic is! It was 26 years ago, that a 6 year old Suhani saw a ‘magic show’ and dreamt of becoming a magician. This marks her 25th year performing mentalism, as she still carries the charm and innocence that 7 year old Suhani did. Talking of it, there is a lot of glamour, a factor of ‘wow’, self-love and over confidence associated with the career transition. To which, she elaborately explains, “As a child, I kept talking of magic and fortunately, my parents honestly were extremely considerate about it. You know, my father spent 6 months looking for a tutor and basically putting across magic as my educational development, because somewhere my inclination towards magic was visible. And that was the age when I didn’t even understand what glamour or for a fact even fame is! So when my first show was grandly put about, the then Chief Minister attended it. That was exactly how my career began. So for me on a personal level, fame has been a part of my career, so has glamour, it existed then, it persists now, so never does overconfidence seem to be very much an issue to say.” Putting it simply, she brought about the point of growing up with talent. Queerly, to think of, does a child always begin with imagining that she would be a part of a mega industry rather than just performing for herself? That anticipation of where she’s being lead to marks a crazy confusion in the life of an artist. “To be completely honest, yes, I did think that the talent is leading me to some place grand. I could foresee my career with magic, art and what not around. However, I truly did never expect this transition, you know! I did never know I would be assimilated with a streaming, or filming culture. That for me has not just given me a new hypo graph to live up to but also, something I truly wanted to do. Having youthful energy, I wrote books over mentalism and magic, I had art shows to perform but none of it made me as satisfied as being a part of this industry makes me. That is the exact meaning for transition and unknowingly yet beautiful, I get pushed and mingled in the industry.” When the transition of career happens to be natural, there are a lot of changes one needs to adapt to. There was a demand for the talent I held, but it was never a career that I would want to perform. Thus till the pandemic hit, I really didn’t think of it. However, when the pandemic hit, the work stopped, I was barred from home and that was exactly when I began with YouTube streaming and making videos. So the transition was never sudden, it just happened slowly. I had to adapt, accept and identify that I was away from the stage, I had screens to connect with people to, and performing live had a very different sense. That adaption was actually challenging because it brought me to a stage where I had to recognise my career scope and recognize what exactly was to be done. You know, I didn’t go to school, I didn’t go to college, I was just working all the while, and now I was here where I had to sit and just do nothing. That was more challenging for me. So I remember, starting off with an online show, ‘Magic being performed online’, that somewhat pulled me through the pandemic dilemma. While streaming on YouTube was the exact game changer I was looking for because looking back, I was having fun doing it. Little did I know that it was the beginning of a novel spectrum of my career!” All this while, Suhani mentioned the Pandemic to be a revolution in all senses However, through all of this happening, there is a high doubt of where art forms are leading to when it comes to India, because there's a lot to do with glamour here as well. “A bit contrary to what you said, India is filled with art forms with diverse roots. It’s not even similar, there is a difference in totality. And truly, in my understanding, we are always attracted to glamour. You see a beautiful rose, its glamour, desire of living in a house I glamour, and that will always be appreciated but here it’s more about how you understand art to be. Because art is also glamorous, art also is beautiful and that goes hand in hand. The window to the world during the pandemic was their phones. People were seeing direction, cinematography and all of it came from art. And whatever the screens passed on to people was art. People eventually started valuing art, realising that when nothing works, and its art that they can rely on.” Mentioning the importance of art and growing up with it, there is a lot of superstitious association with magic. Dealing with which stands out from any coaching. “Since childhood, I was looked at as a ‘DEVI’, saying I can heal everything possible. Earlier, people confused me with a musician and there I had to sort out the exact meaning of a magician, after which, a lot of people came to me asking me to heal their illnesses or asking me solve their problems. This was exactly what shifted me away from any sort of superstitious association since childhood. I give ted talks speaking against superstitions. Hence I always say, ‘I CANNOT READ MINDS, I CAN CREATE AN ILLUSION OF READING MIND’.” Just adding illusions cannot definitely define it as magic. However, according to Suhani, Guzaarish is a movie that utilises pieces of magical elements. That’s exactly where she leaves you with… Wonder how to deal with magic, because every potential of yours is magic if you know how to use it!! - Do I feel pretty?
SOCIETY by Neha Pande Do I feel pretty? 1 September 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Do I feel pretty? Do I love my looks? Miniskirt or Salwar Suit, which one should I choose? A women’s life is scandalous and decided by the way she dresses or looks, it is the harsh reality of the women beauty standards where aesthetics is everything. A judgmental world where lipsticks are more expensive than books because that’s how the society is, isn’t it? Makeup, surgery and the way I “should” dress, publicised through all social media making young girls think they are to look a certain way. Society has made it a norm for women to dress pretty with makeup done neatly and not to dress tomboyish as it is impolite for a girl to be dressed in men’s clothing. Funny thing is it doesn’t even matter if she’s perfect with beautiful skin and a neatly dressed or if she is tom boyishly dressed with bad skin, it doesn’t matter the amount or makeup she has on or does not because the society still will judge, it will still try to nit-pick on whatever they can. You may think if she’s in a Miniskirt people will drool over her and if she is in a Salwar Suit people might call her a ‘behenji’; to that, yes, that might happen with our society falling into the tracks of western culture people might like the miniskirt and beautifully done makeup better but salwar suit has its own charm and will also invite a lot of spectators. But it doesn’t matter if it’s a Salwar Suit or a Miniskirt as the female behind it will still be criticized, as if her change in size or dressing has let everyone down. Her body is caged in reviews and views with titles on her as if she’s a zoo animal, shouldn’t she be allowed to dress however she wants? Shouldn’t she wear as much makeup as she wants or not? Society may change with feminist movements going around the globe, this mentality might change and till then all we can do is to stop asking the question about which one is better, Miniskirt or Salwar Suit because it doesn’t really matter as we all are passengers of the same ship which is headed by the captain called “Society” and we all are suffering the same from the same judgment as others. Before I Die by Neha Pande Before I Die 27 July 2020 LIFESTYLE Advertisement We all as humans have thought about various things to do before we die, some of us might even have a huge bucket list of fun things to do before they die. Adventure is the spice of life and at times the best experiences and adventures are with yourself. It is the best way of discovering yourself. Conquer your fears We all are scared of something and these things at times keep us up all night so before we go let’s conquer at least one of them. Conquering fear is on everyone’s bucket list but it’s too scary and at times looked over but it gives us no bigger satisfaction when we finally conquer our fears, it makes us a better version of ourselves. So, let’s start conquering these fears step by step and not be scared of those little spiders or clowns or thunder, let’s live life on our own terms. Get a Tattoo How long have you wished for that work of art on your body? People get scared or maybe conflicted when they talk about getting a tattoo because they think it’ll hurt like hell or they feel like it’s not the right time or they don’t have a specific design yet. Tattoos are like an expression of yourself on your body, they are beautiful works of art that are yours for life to cherish and one should get at least one in their entire life because they are beautiful self-representations. #Death #GetaTattoo #Conqueryourfears #Bealonewolf #GetaPet #EatYourHeartOut #Bucketlist #Deathwish #BeforeIdie #LearnANewLanguage #Travel #DonateBlood SEARCH Countdown To History: Omega Unveils Paris 2024 Olympics Countdown Clock And Special Edition Timepiece LIFESTYLE Juggling Law And Fashion: The Inspirational Journey Of Riddhi Nahata, A Multifaceted Influencer LIFESTYLE Join Shruti Yogi On Her Enchanting Journey From Kumkum Bhagya To Wanderlust Saga LIFESTYLE Personal Growth And Relatability: Ishita Khanna's Key To Influencer Success LIFESTYLE 6 Disadvantages Of Being Pretty LIFESTYLE POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement By Shrinivas Kodape Fast Times In Pune: Tracksuits, Dreams And A Dash Of Madness At Sports Con 2025 29 April 2025 LIFESTYLE By Aarti Singh The Audi A6: A Legacy Born From Rebellion And Refined Through Innovation 1 March 2025 LIFESTYLE By Sakshi Batra Glam Extravaganza 2025: Pune And Mumbai’s Influencers Compete For The Ultimate Spotlight 27 February 2025 LIFESTYLE By Anushka Uniyal Ice, Speed And Records: Porsche Taycan GTS Drifts Into History 27 February 2025 LIFESTYLE RELATED POSTS Advertisement

- Exposing Skin Care Myths Through A Dermatologist
By Anushka Sharma By Anushka Sharma Exposing Skin Care Myths Through A Dermatologist 18 June 2024 BEAUTY Advertisement Advertisement Are you someone who spends a lot of time on social media, especially looking at skincare trends? I admit I've done that, and sometimes it leads to buying things I don't need. While some trends are good, others might not be so great for your skin. Here are five skincare trends you might have seen online that aren't as helpful as they seem: 1. Flax Seeds for Wrinkles: Have you seen people making masks with flax seeds to tighten their skin? Well, it might make your skin feel nice for a little while, but it's not like getting Botox. Botox actually relaxes certain muscles in your face, while flaxseed masks just hydrate your skin temporarily. 2. Garlic for Pimples: Some folks say eating garlic can clear up acne, but that's not entirely true. Garlic does have some good properties, but it won't magically make your pimples disappear. Using skincare ingredients like salicylic acid and niacinamide is a better bet. 3. Face Flooding for Oily Skin: If you've got oily skin, you might have heard about "face flooding" to give your skin extra moisture. But for some people, it just makes them look sweaty and can even cause more breakouts. It's not a one-size-fits-all solution. 4. Collagen Masks: Those masks that melt into your skin might look cool, but they don't do much for you. Collagen in skincare can't really get absorbed into your skin like that. It might make your skin feel hydrated, but that's about it. 5. SPF Madness: We've all heard that higher SPF means better protection from the sun, right? Well, not necessarily. Too much SPF can make your skin oily, and anything beyond SPF 50 doesn't add much extra protection. Plus, you still need to reapply it often. So, next time you see a skincare trend online, take it with a grain of salt. It's always best to talk to a dermatologist before trying something new on your skin. - Fast Times In Pune: Tracksuits, Dreams And A Dash Of Madness At Sports Con 2025
Fast Times In Pune: Tracksuits, Dreams And A Dash Of Madness At Sports Con 2025 By Shrinivas Kodape Fast Times In Pune: Tracksuits, Dreams And A Dash Of Madness At Sports Con 2025 29 April 2025 LIFESTYLE Advertisement If you anticipated the typical display of corporate logos and rigid panels at SPORTS CON Pune 2025, you were pleasantly surprised. Held at the historic PYC Hindu Gymkhana , this wasn’t your average event. No one was here to hand out polished brochures or talk about things that sounded nice on paper. This was about action, urgency, and a whole lot of raw truth. The first speaker to step up wasn’t some celebrity, polished in a designer suit, but rather Dr. Vipul Lunawat, a man whose eyes had seen enough of India’s sports eco-system to make you question whether we were stuck in a time loop of broken promises. This wasn’t about hope or fluff; it was a hard dose of reality. His message: India’s sports system is crumbling. His words cut through the optimism like a knife, and you could feel the room brace for what was coming next. But Dr. Lunawat wasn’t alone. Madhukar Talwalkar, the fitness guru known for reshaping the health landscape in India, stood beside him. And then there was Dr. Pranati Tilak, calm and composed, like the steady anchor in a storm. These three weren’t there to dance around issues. They were there to tell it like it is—no sugarcoating, no fluff. And you could feel the room start to shift. Their message was clear: if India didn’t fix its sports Eco-system, it was game over for any Olympic dreams. The mood was set, but it didn’t stay calm for long. The next panel, “Decoding the League Culture,” went straight for the jugular. Kailash Kandpal, who made Puneri Paltan the juggernaut it is, didn’t come to chat about sponsorships or TV ratings. He was talking about survival—about making leagues that people actually cared about, not just following trends or chasing foreign dollars. For him, the sport was about something deeper, a bond with the community that’s hard to describe, but you know it when you see it. Then there was Mandar Tamhane, who lives and breathes football through his work with NorthEast United FC . His focus was on one simple, undeniable fact: if India didn’t start embracing football as its true sport, any hope for Olympic success was just that—a dream. A pretty, distant dream. He spoke with such passion you almost felt like the entire country should be shutting down for a football match. Next up was Parvin Dabas, an actor turned advocate for Pro Panja League , a form of arm wrestling that’s slowly making waves in India. His talk wasn’t just about strength; it was about a return to the basics of physicality. Forget the shiny new sports that come and go with trends—Panja wrestling is all about raw, gritty power. Dabas was adamant: it was time to bring back the sports that were built on real physical strength, not the tech-saturated world we’re drowning in. And then Rishi Bhansali, the founder of Pickleball , stepped up, and let’s just say it wasn’t your typical panel. Pickleball? Yes, it’s a thing. But Bhansali wasn’t just here to talk about paddle sports; he was here to talk about building communities around sports. His point was simple: clubs should be as important as schools, as temples, as landmarks. Sports should mean something to the neighborhoods they belong to. By the time the heavy hitters like Pawan Singh from Gun for Glory Academy, Lokesh Suji talking esports, and Rishikesh Joshi weighed in, the message couldn’t have been clearer: India needed more than just flashy banners or half-built stadiums. It needed a complete overhaul. Big changes, and fast. The status quo wasn’t working, and if India wanted to be a real contender on the world stage, the cracks in the foundation needed to be fixed yesterday. As the day wound down, you couldn’t help but feel like something had shifted. These weren’t just dreamers talking theory—they were doers, and they weren’t here to hold your hand. They were here to demand action. But if you weren’t paying attention, you might have missed it. The revolution in Indian sports had quietly begun, and while the path forward was unclear, the momentum was undeniable. So, what does all of this mean? Well, it’s simple: SPORTS CON Pune 2025 wasn’t just a day of panels. It was a wake-up call for a nation that had been dreaming too long and building too little. The people in that room were ready to fight for the kind of sports culture India deserves—not the flashy image, not the Insta-worthy moments, but the real stuff that comes from the grassroots up. No one promised it would be easy, but then again, whoever promised that revolutions were fun? India’s Olympic dreams might still be distant, but they don’t have to be impossible. It all starts with taking action—big, messy, necessary action. If you missed the revolution, don’t worry; there’s always next year. Or maybe, just maybe, there won’t be. - The Rise Of Korean Beauty Trends In India With Shruti Sharma
By Anushka Sharma By Anushka Sharma The Rise Of Korean Beauty Trends In India With Shruti Sharma 15 August 2024 BEAUTY Advertisement Advertisement In an engaging conversation, beauty influencer Shruti Sharma reveals her journey into the world of Korean beauty, sharing insights and experiences that have shaped her content creation path. With a vibrant social media presence, Shruti has become a go-to source for Korean beauty enthusiasts in India. Finding The Niche That Has Taken The World By A Storm Shruti’s passion for makeup began in childhood, but it was only a year ago that she discovered Korean beauty. She noticed a gap in the Indian market for Korean beauty content and decided to fill it. "I always wanted to do content creation but didn't know what niche to go for. When I saw the gap, I knew exactly what I wanted to do," she explains. The Differences Between Korean Beauty Vs Indian Beauty The difference between Korean and Indian beauty products is significant, according to Shruti . "Korean makeup packaging is very cute and girly, while Indian aesthetics are different. Lip tints and shades of pink are popular in Korea, whereas in India, matte lipsticks and nude colors are preferred," she notes. The popularity of cushion foundations in Korea also stands out, despite their limited shade range, which makes it hard for Indian users to find the perfect match. Collaborations And Inspirations Shruti’s collaborations with brands like Flower Knows and Amuse have further enhanced her content. These brands sent her their collections, which she showcases on her page. She is more inspired by K-beauty than K-pop, although she admires the makeup styles of idols like Won Young and Jennie. All About The Challenges And Aspirations Despite the popularity of Korean beauty products, accessibility remains an issue. Brands like Romand and Etude are available in India, but others require ordering through platforms like YesStyle, which involves customs fees and long delivery times. However, Shruti believes in the authenticity of YesStyle and continues to recommend it. Shruti's future plans include excelling in social media and venturing into modeling. - Grace, Grit, And Glory: The Story of Mrs. India Galaxy, Rinima Borah
Grace, Grit, And Glory: The Story of Mrs. India Galaxy, Rinima Borah By Sakshi Batra Grace, Grit, And Glory: The Story of Mrs. India Galaxy, Rinima Borah 19 December 2024 FASHION Advertisement In a world obsessed with outer beauty, the true essence of inner beauty often goes unnoticed. Meet Mrs. Rinima Borah - an entrepreneur, pageant winner & an amalgamation of beauty with brains. Belonging from a town in Assam growing up with limited resources but abundant love, Rinima believed that true wealth lies in empathy, kindness, and determination. From starting her own venture " MISS MOMO ” a brand dedicated to gorgeous ladies from fashion seized 2xs to 5xl celebrating diversity and challenging outdated beauty norms. Rinima mentioned that for her "Business isn't just about making profits; it's about creating positive change.” With her brand she represents her mission to embrace diversity in shape, age and background—a rarity in the industry. She remained committed to prioritising authenticity over popularity. Her leadership style reflects the same values, as she fosters an egalitarian environment within her team and values transparency, making sure everyone’s voice is heard. Her journey isn’t just about achievements; it’s a testament to resilience, kindness, and the power of believing in oneself. Ronnie : Endless love for her little star One of the most beautiful aspects of Rinima’s journey doesn’t only revolve around the pageant or business but she extends her role beautifully as a guardian to her nephew Ronnie, where she sees her inner self. Ronnie was abandoned by his father at a young age and didn't hesitate to step in, and believed that he’s an extension of her, a part of her family," she says. Watching Ronnie ever since childhood grow into a kind and empathetic young man gave her immense pleasure “Raising him transformed me, bringing out a nurturing side I didn’t know existed,” she mentioned. Through the transparency in their bond, she hopes to inspire a kinder and more compassionate generation. Sacrifices of Women Rinima believes that women should never give up on their dreams, even after marriage. Marriage and family are essential sources of love and support, but they shouldn't be the reasons to compromise one's aspirations. “Every woman deserves the opportunity to pursue her passions, grow personally and professionally, and continue to evolve beyond her roles as a wife or mother.” Rinima grew up surrounded by strong, intelligent women who embodied both power and humility. They taught her that true beauty comes from purpose, intellect, and integrity. Overcoming insecurities and learning to embrace her true self has helped her become the confident woman she is today. Her family was over the moon when she decided to be a part of Mrs. India Inc , while her husband's family was initially & had reservations but eventually supported her dream. “Platforms like Mrs. India Pageants are changing perceptions, celebrating real women”. Being a part of Mrs. India Inc and winning title of Mrs. India Galaxy is all about embracing authenticity & not fitting into a mould. Mrs India reinforced her belief that women should have the freedom to make her own choices, and “I’m proud to be part of the movement changing societal norms”. Breaking Stereotypes & Empowering Women Every Indian woman should be able to make her own decision. The world of beauty pageants has come a long way, and she gives herself as an example to this evolution. “I’m 5'4 and have tattoos, something that would have been unthinkable for a beauty queen in the past. “These platforms are paving the way for inclusive representation, celebrating women of all ages, marital statuses, and unique traits” proving that strength and authenticity are the new gold standards. Despite facing domestic violence and countless challenges for her, giving up was never an option from concealing her bruises with makeup, she faced the world with unmatched strength with a smile on her face which even gave strength to her during the contest. "For women like me, resilience isn’t just a trait—it’s a necessity.” Her journey is a true representation of power "Indian women are breaking moulds, challenging norms, and proving that they’re not just resilient, but also leaders and changemakers." Balanced meal - cheatmeal? Cheat meal? No not for me," she says with a smile. I find joy in the simplicity of good meals, i love eating "Khichdi with potatoes, coriander, and a side of papad and pickle is my ultimate comfort food." When it comes to fitness my philosophy is all about balance. "I believe in enjoying my favourite foods without guilt, focusing on portion control and staying consistent” balance and moderation is a key to great health and a healthy lifestyle. Imagine being a judge & curating a round As per her perspective, if she were a judge she would introduce a debate round to give contestants a platform to showcase their views and intellect. It would not only allow the audience and judges to understand each contestant’s perspectives but also will help in checking the confidence, and critical thinking ability. “A healthy debate would encourage mutual respect, inspire growth, and highlight diverse perspectives on real-world issues, ensuring we choose the best candidate to represent India on the global stage”. Empowering Women through change Rinima’s journey shows the strength of resilience, authenticity, and believing in herself. Through every challenge, she has embraced who she truly is, inspiring others to do the same. As she continues to break barriers and redefine beauty, her story reminds us that true strength comes from being ourselves, and Beauty shines brightest when it’s rooted in purpose and integrity SEARCH The Rich Heritage of Indian Handloom FASHION Fashion In The 19th Century FASHION Colour Psychology in Fashion: Explained FASHION The Influence Of Kanye West On Fashion FASHION K-Pop Fashion And Its Impact On Global Wardrobe FASHION POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Shriniwas Kodape AiSPi Wanderlust Diaries: Marzook, L’Afshar, And A Fashion Bender In Mumbai 25 April 2025 FASHION By Anushka Uniyal Kiyaan Silver: Timeless Jewellery For Every Woman 27 March 2025 FASHION By Sakshi Batra The Shoe Faktory Success Story: Ishpreet Singh Gujral’s Bold Business Leap 27 March 2025 FASHION By Sakshi Batra From Reality TV To Real Success: Nibedita Paal’s Inspiring Story 27 March 2025 FASHION RELATED POSTS
