- Anuar Faizal: Where Culture Cuts Couture
Anuar Faizal: Where Culture Cuts Couture By Anurag Sen Anuar Faizal: Where Culture Cuts Couture 8 July 2025 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement There’s a quiet kind of power that walks before the man himself. It’s in the structured grace of a blazer cinched just right. In the silent authority of a sweeping coat worn like armor. In the delicate rebellion of embroidery that references heritage but doesn’t get lost in it. This is the world of Anuar Faizal —Malaysian designer, modern couturier, and a force who doesn’t just dress people, but drapes them in presence. Stepping onto the runway at Thailand Fashion Week AW25/26 , Anuar Faizal made his presence known—not through spectacle, but through intent. His runway moment didn’t merely showcase clothing—it communicated a vision. Known for blurring the lines between masculinity and softness, culture and cosmopolitanism, Faizal has, over the years, built a label that doesn’t just follow fashion’s rhythm—it composes its own. For those familiar with the Southeast Asian fashion landscape, Anuar Faizal is not a new name. But his work resists simple categorization. At the core of his collections lies a commitment to precision tailoring, but he subverts this structure with unexpected details: exaggerated silhouettes, unconventional cuts, traditional fabrics transformed through futuristic treatments. If fashion is a language, then Anuar Faizal speaks in contrasts—and makes it poetic. Born and raised in Malaysia, with deep cultural ties to both Malay and American influences, Faizal’s personal history has always mirrored multiplicity. His early foray into design was more necessity than experiment—tailoring his own clothes because the market offered nothing that felt both refined and grounded. What started as personal expression quickly evolved into a vision shared by clients, celebrities, and now, global runways. His menswear is particularly revered. While the world still struggles to reimagine masculinity in fabric form, Faizal’s work has long embodied it: not as dominance, but as presence. Think sharply tailored blazers softened by brocade lapels, suiting layered with flowing tunics, or trousers that taper like a second skin but open at the ankle with a whisper of rebellion. Every stitch dares the wearer to occupy space—not with noise, but with grace. His womenswear, though newer to his portfolio, carries the same philosophy. Far from being a mirrored extension of his menswear, his womenswear stands as a carefully crafted parallel. His gowns are built like architecture—clean, assertive lines balanced with drapes that flirt with the wind. His recent creations feature asymmetrical silhouettes, metallic embroidery, sheer overlays, and bold structural ruffles—elements that fuse power dressing with romanticism. For Anuar, femininity doesn’t mean fragility. It means force, rendered in silk and satin. It wasn’t just the silhouettes that distinguished his Thailand Fashion Week showcase—it was the charged atmosphere they created. Models walked with an intention that felt less choreographed and more claimed. The palette moved from obsidian blacks and burnished golds to slate greys and ivory whites, interrupted only by flashes of crimson and forest green. Capes flowed, collars rose like protective shells, and trousers gleamed with the richness of hand-finished textures. There were garments that could walk into boardrooms and others that could stop time on red carpets. What echoed through the collection was undeniable: elegance doesn’t whisper—it asserts. And yet, Faizal’s vision goes beyond fashion’s surface. In interviews and captions—he’s selective, always intentional—he speaks often of representation, of using design as a cultural and emotional mirror. In a world that has long exoticized or misunderstood Southeast Asian design, he’s among the few pushing for nuance. He doesn’t pander to Western aesthetics, nor does he cling to nostalgia. Instead, he stands in the fertile in-between: modern, rooted, global, grounded. What also distinguishes Anuar Faizal is his relationship with his atelier . He designs not for a passive consumer, but for individuals who understand the language of clothing. His pieces are not made to wear once and forget, but to be remembered—as an extension of a moment, a mood, a milestone. Celebrities across Malaysia and Indonesia have turned to him for that very reason: red carpet looks that speak not only to glamour, but to identity. Beyond the clothes, Faizal’s label is a study in evolution. In the last few years, he’s shifted from boutique showings to full-scale runways, and from niche clientele to broader, international audiences. Yet through it all, his DNA remains unchanged. Every season feels like a new chapter of the same book—elevated, but cohesive. He doesn’t rely on gimmicks. There are no theatrical headpieces, no loud slogans. His storytelling is subtler, but stronger for it. Perhaps that’s why his Thailand Fashion Week showing felt less like a debut and more like a homecoming. Not to a place, but to a moment in fashion where authenticity matters more than algorithms. Where the designer’s hand is still felt in the fold of a cuff. Where power doesn’t shout, but walks in silk and stands still. In a season overflowing with flash and formula, Anuar Faizal’s collection was a reminder. That fashion, at its best, doesn’t just change how we look—it changes how we feel in our own skin. That tailoring can be spiritual. That presence can be quiet. And that elegance, when redefined by the right hands, can still feel revolutionary. With every sharp contour, every refined silhouette, every echo of heritage, Anuar Faizal is composing something lasting. - Single parenthood and family
SOCIETY by Akash Khatri Single parenthood and family 1 December 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Slowly generalising concept yet feels like a terror to me . I’m not writing it hypothetically rather have seen this. Families emerged from single Parenthood on a positive aspect know struggle and manage to include themselves in the hardy layer of the society whereas on a negative aspect they can just be as jeopardized as possible. Single parenthood if not self chosen could be a disaster for the parent itself ,juggling between kids, work, household and what not as if you’ve to do single handed plank when your core isn’t used to it. However, I fear for self chosen single parenting because the shrinkage from joint families to single parent families are somewhere responsible in the upbringing and personality development of a child as well. How are they supposed to learn actions oriented moral ethics and values if they are not getting various people to observe in their house. In a nutshell, the pursuit of single parenthood must be a big no ,no matter how much it’s covered or layered with positive attributes, it’s hard for both the child and the parent and we as humans don’t opt for harder things by nature, do we ? #family #singleparent #singleparenthood #society SEARCH Why India is the most depressed country in the world? - Four Seasons Bangkok: Elegance On The Edge Of Madness
By Shriniwas Kodape By Shriniwas Kodape Four Seasons Bangkok: Elegance On The Edge Of Madness 21 July 2025 TRAVEL Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement The boy at the ferry terminal had a cigarette tucked behind his ear and a cobra tattoo curling down his neck. He didn’t say a word. Just pointed upriver, where the brown Chao Phraya slid slow and wide, like the city had been bleeding into it for centuries. The boat pulled up—silent, carved teak and polished brass, elegant in a way that felt like a setup. I stepped aboard like a man unsure if he’d packed enough sins to deserve what was coming. Bangkok doesn’t offer warm welcomes. She eats your shoes, kisses your cheek, and leaves her perfume on your collar while she vanishes into traffic. But ride the river long enough—past grilled pork skewers, alleyways that smell like diesel and durian, monks with AirPods—and you’ll hit a lull in the madness. That’s where Four Seasons Bangkok lives. Not stands. Lives. This isn’t a hotel. It’s a whispered confession of what hospitality could be if we all just tried a little harder. You don’t enter. You get absorbed. First by stillness: sheets of water like glass, marble that hums underfoot, ceilings that arch like they’ve been blessed. Art isn’t an afterthought here. It leans toward you like it’s got secrets to tell. And then there’s the scent—jasmine, bergamot, maybe a dash of whatever the ultra-rich wear when they want to feel grounded. Subtle. Addictive. My room overlooked the river. Floor-to-ceiling windows wrapped the view like a confession. The Chao Phraya didn’t pose for pictures. It moved, muttered, judged. Temples blinked gold across the way, while barges slithered past like half-sunken beasts. I sat on the bed longer than I care to admit, just watching the sky soften into a mango-stained hush, and wondering when I last let myself be still. But stillness in Bangkok is a fragile thing. I headed for Yu Ting Yuan—the kind of name that rolls off the tongue like a lie you want to believe. It’s Michelin-recommended now (once starred, and still proud). The lacquered duck was divine. The dim sum? Heartbreak in a bamboo steamer. The service knew me before I opened my mouth. I didn’t eat. I surrendered. Next came Riva del Fiume, the hotel’s ode to Italy. Think Amalfi with Bangkok’s swagger. Breakfast turned spiritual: buttery croissants, mango like flame, espresso that understood my problems but never judged. By the third morning, I’d stopped checking the menu. The staff knew what I needed better than I did. But it’s after dark that Four Seasons really seduces. BKK Social Club isn’t a bar. It’s a fever dream in velvet and glass. The kind of place where Anthony Bourdain would’ve ordered a negroni and never left. I chugged four. Each one more perfect than the last—Campari, vermouth, gin, ice cold and unapologetically bitter. The kind of bitter that makes you feel seen. I had something called Bananazo too—rum, cacao, banana bitters. It tasted like Havana and burned like Buenos Aires. The bartender didn’t talk much. Just nodded like a priest serving penance. And when I finally stumbled out—high on citrus and sins—I felt more myself than I had in years. The next morning, salvation called from The Urban Wellness Center. 2,500 square meters of forgiveness. Thai massage. Quartz stones. A therapist who cracked my joints with the precision of a surgeon and the tenderness of a monk. I came out smelling like lemongrass and absolution. But the genius of Four Seasons Bangkok isn’t in the duck or the drinks or the divine spa. It’s in the spaces between. The silence before the jazz kicks in. The way the light hits the pool at 5:47 PM. The staff remembering your name like it’s a poem, not a job. The world still spun madly outside. Tuk-tuks screamed. The markets throbbed. Somewhere, a tourist ordered a fishbowl cocktail and made a mistake. But not here. Here, the river slowed. The wind hushed. And for a few stolen days, I didn’t need to run. I was home. - Ramandeep Kaur, Charmingly Dauntless
Ramandeep Kaur, Charmingly Dauntless by Aparajita Jaiswal Ramandeep Kaur, Charmingly Dauntless 23 September 2022 COVER STORIES Advertisement It is always natural to feel extremely proud of the new self created out of the previous portions of ourselves! One such person with extreme sense of pride stands to be Ramandeep Kaur! Being a part of the Punjabi industry makes you extremely filled with energy in spite of the obstacles. Speaking of which, the gracious actor talks about her journey, mentioning, "I began as a manager in a salon and opportunities were presented naturally, quite willingly by others and situations supported those opportunities and I was fortunate enough to take advantage. It has been a passion of mine, all my life." Talking of obstacles, one doesn’t always get what she/he wants. "I prefer to perceive rejections as challenges, motivating me to do better," the actress says, gracefully. The very thought of making it huge in spite of rejections, hypes one up. In a creative field such as acting, it is a regular roller coaster where every artist goes through rejections and fame. The journey of fame deals with the public eye and staying grounded is very important. Ramandeep comments when asked how she deals with fame, "I stay humble." The very essence of the Punjabi film industry and the anticipation of where it is leading excites the audience. "I feel the Punjabi industry is on the way up, it is getting more worldwide exposure and I am excited to be a part of it," says the actress. Speaking of the industry, the reader often gets mesmerised by what they observe on social media. When asked about the trends that she rejoices in, her confidence peaked as she exclaimed, "I am the trend on social media." Ramandeep Kaur expresses her inspiration to be the humble blockbuster star, Diljit Dosanjh. While getting inspired in all ways, Ramandeep comments on her love for fashion. "I love fashion and I follow all trends to ensure I am always on top of it." Fashion brings in a lot of stereotypes attached to it as interpreted by society, majorly associated with body shaming and fitness. However, being an actress it's perceived differently, "I understand that the world is becoming diverse and is allowing people of all shapes and sizes to share the spotlight. However, I myself attend the gym regularly to maintain my figure." To stay on top, in both, one's professional and personal life, is a big deal. Thus to mark the lines between reel and real life for an actor is even more tough! "I stay in character on set and on only on set, I never take my character home with me. My personal life is a completely separate entity from my work." This actually is difficult to fathom for the readers as the work she engages in all seem so perfectly put, however, that is what would also make a rising beauty, like her, such a great actress! "My work does not affect my personal life as I try to be professional to all extents, taking my personal life seriously and looking after it as closely as I do for my career." As the audience looks forward to her engaging them in more of her films, it is also interesting to have a glance at her perspective. The career of every actor brings her to different roles and it is quite obvious to be biased to one or having regrets in having played a certain character. However, for Ramandeep, there are no regrets in the roles she has enacted. "I am proud of all the characters I have had the opportunity to play." My work does not affect my personal life as I am a professional and take my career very seriously! - Is Fragrance in Skincare of Concern: Decoded
Is Fragrance in Skincare of Concern: Decoded by Aishwarya Is Fragrance in Skincare of Concern: Decoded 3 November 2022 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Fragrances play a huge role in our day-to-day life. They are an important aspect of our life. Often we human beings associate a certain person, food, incident or event, with the fragrance that reminds us of them. They play the role of making us feel nostalgic and associate with the source even more. While we all love a good fragrance, some people seem to have problems with perfume being in skin care. Though unfortunately, there isn’t a clear answer to whether fragrance in skincare is bad or not, still there is a lot of controversies surrounding it. A nice-smelling face mask seems like a perfect match for your me-time routine, but for some, it's the worst thing to do for their skin. The fragrance has become controversial in recent years, and the credit goes to YouTube videos, Subreddit threads, and many other social media platforms. According to a study, the American Academy of Dermatology suggests that fragrance is one of the most common causes of contact dermatitis , which affects roughly 1% of the population. As you can see, the number is quite nominal. So whether your skin could suffer some irritation due to scented skincare or not, is subjective and complex. On top of that, there isn’t a particular way to find out whether your skin will get irritated or not. There isn’t a single or particular symptom to find out the risk, which makes it difficult for you to decide, whether to use scented skincare or not. There are two types of fragrances, that can be used in your skincare; synthetic and natural. Your basic instinct would be to opt for natural fragrances. But is natural always better than chemicals? According to the experts, not really. Let us first understand what synthetic fragrances are. Synthetic fragrances are the ones, that are created in the lab. Furthermore, synthetic fragrances can be either fully synthetic or semi-synthetic. Semi-synthetics are the ones that are partially created and the rest is natural. Many brands choose synthetic fragrances for their products, as it lasts longer than natural fragrances. Generally, the natural scent has a shelf life of around one to two years, while synthetic fragrances has a shelf life of five years. Natural fragrances are derived from a natural source, like lavender or rose. They aren’t created by humans, so they are available in just one form; all-natural. The only problem with natural fragrances is their shelf life, rather than that it serves its purpose. Now, that being said, even natural essential oils can cause severe skin irritation. So, before you get into investigating the concerns of fragrances in skincare, look for the products that work best for you. Not everyone is allergic to fragrances and you need to know that skincare is subjective. While it is important for us to know what’s there in our skincare. We should also know, how a certain product reacts to our skin. Applying a little bit of the product to the back of your ear can be a great way to start. Fragrances are harmful to some people, but it isn’t toxic chemical you need to be worried about. With that being said, always do what your skin needs. According to a study, the American Academy of Dermatology suggests that fragrance is one of the most common causes of contact dermatitis , which affects roughly 1% of the population. #Skincare #Fragrances #UnscentedSkincare #Fragrancefree #Controversy #SkinTalk #SkinFacts SEARCH Why does Fashion Need Fashion Shows FASHION From Dreams To Crowns: Anuradha Garg’s Inspiring Mrs. India Story FASHION Colour Psychology in Fashion: Explained FASHION Legendary Female Icons Who Made Fashion Statements In The 20th Century FASHION The House of Chanel: History FASHION POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Sakshi Shah This Editorial Began Beyond The Studio Walls 10 March 2026 FASHION By Sakshi Shah Manish Malhotra Unfolds A Couture Finale At Dubai Fashion Week 11 February 2026 FASHION By Sakshi Shah At Dubai Fashion Week, Day Five Unfolded — Krésha Bajaj In Focus 9 February 2026 FASHION By Sakshi Shah Day Four At Dubai Fashion Week AW 26-27 Was About Designers Owning Their Voice 8 February 2026 FASHION RELATED POSTS Advertisement
- Victoria’s Secret’s Bombshell Turns 15: A Fragrance That Still Owns The Room
By Shriniwas Kodape By Shriniwas Kodape Victoria’s Secret’s Bombshell Turns 15: A Fragrance That Still Owns The Room 3 June 2025 BEAUTY Advertisement Advertisement Some perfumes fade into the background, and then there are those that define a moment. A decade and a half ago, Victoria’s Secret launched Bombshell—a fragrance that didn’t just sit pretty on a vanity but boldly claimed its space in culture, closets, and memory. Fifteen years later, Bombshell is not simply returning for a nostalgic nod; she’s stepping back into the spotlight with all the elegance, charm, and quiet ferocity that made her a household name. Let’s be honest: the early 2010s were saturated with scents. But Bombshell didn’t just join the party—she threw her own. Crafted by perfumer Adriana Medina, it was a fragrance that didn’t tiptoe into the room. It strode in, heels clicking, leaving behind a trail of fruity-floral intrigue. The formula was feminine but not fragile—think passionfruit, peony, and a whisper of vanilla orchid. It was sweet, yes, but with an undeniable edge. The kind of scent you’d wear on both a first date and a boardroom pitch. It didn’t just smell good; it smelled intentional. Now, as the fragrance marks its fifteenth year, Victoria’s Secret has gifted Bombshell a complete moment. The limited-edition 15th Anniversary bottle gleams like it knows it’s the centerpiece. Sleek, structured, and bathed in high-gloss pink, it pays homage to the original design while upgrading it with a sharper, modern elegance. The signature stripes are still present—like a wink from the past—but the overall silhouette feels grown, grounded, and glamorously minimal. This anniversary isn't just about a new bottle. It’s a global celebration of what the fragrance has meant to millions. From Manhattan’s cobblestoned Gansevoort Plaza to the heart of Kuala Lumpur and even the buzzing fashion energy of Riyadh, the Bombshell pop-ups were not perfume counters—they were immersive experiences. Picture pink-hued florals cascading across archways, scent bars where visitors could discover their perfect match, exclusive merch drops, and branded cafés with rose-tinted lattes. It wasn’t just marketing—it was memory-making. The kind of experience where fragrance and fantasy blur. In each city, women lined up not only for selfies and samples but for something quieter, more personal: a reminder of who they were when they first wore Bombshell. A return to that spark. Fronting the campaign is model Devyn Garcia , who brings an effortless magnetism to the reimagined Bombshell story. Photographed by Lachlan Bailey and styled by Emmanuelle Alt, the visuals are stripped of overproduction and rich with intimacy. Gone are the flashbulbs and maximalism of past eras—replaced instead with softness, natural light, and quiet confidence. Devyn doesn’t shout. She doesn’t need to. She embodies a woman who knows herself—and that’s the point. Bombshell has matured, but she hasn’t lost her spark. She’s simply shifted her power inward. At the center of it all is Adriana Medina, who reflects on what it means to create a fragrance that’s become iconic. “I never imagined how many women this scent would connect with,” she says. “It represents a kind of empowered femininity—sensual, but self-assured. That’s what keeps it alive, even fifteen years later.” And she’s right. Because Bombshell is more than notes and chords—it’s nostalgia. For many, it was the first perfume they saved up for. The one that got them compliments on elevators. The one they wore to graduation, to heartbreak, to new beginnings. It’s the invisible signature that lingered after the goodbye. A spritz of Bombshell isn’t just a scent—it’s a return to self. In an era where the fragrance industry constantly chases the next “clean” or “genderless” formula, there’s something almost rebellious about Bombshell’s steadfast femininity . She never deluded herself. She never tried to be everything for everyone. She’s pink, she’s unapologetic, and she’s timeless—not because she resists change, but because she evolves without losing herself. Fifteen years is no small feat in an industry that often thrives on reinvention. But Bombshell didn’t just survive the trend cycles—she transcended them. She stayed relevant not by shapeshifting, but by growing alongside the women who wore her. So here she is—sharper, sleeker, and as magnetic as ever. Not looking back, but walking forward. A little wiser, just as bold. The 15th Anniversary collection is now available in Victoria’s Secret stores and online. The Eau de Parfum is accompanied by mist, lotion, and even a diffuser—because why should your apartment smell like anything less than your best self? Bombshell at 15 is more than a birthday. It’s a statement: Some icons don’t fade. They just get better with time. - Building Opportunities And Expanding Horizons: An Interview With Actor Or Writer Meghana Kaushik
Building Opportunities And Expanding Horizons: An Interview With Actor Or Writer Meghana Kaushik by Aadhya Venkatesh Building Opportunities And Expanding Horizons: An Interview With Actor Or Writer Meghana Kaushik 30 June 2022 COVER STORIES Advertisement Meghana Kaushik is a multitalented actress and writer who aspires to do great work in the entertainment industry. Wishing to leave her mark, she thrives on the competition she faces. Meghana identifies the kind of work that she needs to do to justify her talent. "As an artist, your goals are clear to you", she says. While speaking about recognizing opportunities, she said that one must always be prepared for the golden opportunity, ready to strike it with complete determination when it does occur. Stemming from the need to create such 'golden opportunities' for herself and others, she began writing for the screen. "As a writer, I can tell stories and narratives that I, as an actor, would like to act in". Meghana also believes that writing stories that she believes in will allow her to talk about subjects that need to be voiced. Meghana comes from theatre and has trained with Barry John as she always believes in improving her craft. Her foray into acting has been a learning curve. Belonging to a family with no connection to the industry, she had to learn everything about the process from scratch. The downside to this is that she has been dropped from many projects because she is not well-connected or comparatively well-known. She hopes that she can eventually work with creators that "cast actors based on their talent instead of social media follower count". Wishing to travel the world with her career, she wants to stand out in her field. She sees herself on the world stage, winning internationally acclaimed awards for her work while simultaneously creating a space of recognition for Indian talent. Currently, she is working on two feature films, one of which she is co-writing. Her inspiration in the field ranges from Madhubala, Waheeda Rehman, Sridevi and Alia Bhatt in the Indian film industry to icons such as Audrey Hepburn, Meryl Streep, Amy Adams, Natalie Portman, and Emily Blunt, amongst others. One of the easiest roles Meghana has played to date has been Nikita from Love, Lust, and Confusion. She believes that the character helped bring out her alter-ego, a person who was free-spirited, fashionable and non-judgmental about life and choices. Meghana strives to be a leader in a world full of followers. She urges those around her to remain positive in their lives and not let our differences and flaws bring us down. She propagates empowerment through acceptance of personal flaws with flair and grace. "Set yourself small goals to start with, and love yourself first" is the mantra she wishes to share. In a message to the youth, she pushes them to take charge and pave the way for the world to become a better place. She champions everyone to use their energies to protect fundamental human rights and promotes education for all. "We always need to be mindful and dream big. It is pertinent that we do not get caught up in mediocrity". All Meghana wants is for people to get over being lazy and take charge of their own lives, ultimately initiating a change that starts at the individual level. Gina says this opened up new avenues for creative expression, enabling her to bring a unique blend of skills and experiences as an artist. Valuing sustainability in fashion, she goes on to list her dream designer. She mentions Iris van Herpen for her fusion of art, fashion, and technology, as it resonates with her own journey. Japanese designer, Yohji Yamamoto for his ability to blend traditional Japanese design elements with avant-garde aesthetics. From the Middle East, Elie Saab for combining Middle Eastern richness with modern aesthetics. Finally, she culminates with her anticipation for her upcoming projects - new music releases, a book about content creation, and multimedia creation. She is also excited to explore integrating augmented reality and blockchain in music.
