  • 8 Elementary Ways To Practice The Attitude Of Gratitude

8 Elementary Ways To Practice The Attitude Of Gratitude LIFESTYLE 8 Elementary Ways To Practice The Attitude Of Gratitude by Anushka Singh 1 December 2020 Advertisement “Life is like a river. You can’t touch the same water twice because the flow that has passed will never pass again.” And, in this river-like life, time flies like the flow and is long passed till you acknowledge its value. We being humans, ignorant as we are, mostly forget to appreciate little things in life while there’s time and either complain or regret after its gone. Practicing gratitude can be an absolute game changer in our lives as it brings us closer to reality and the relatedness of everything in this world. Gratitude is that common key which unlocks uncountable doors to peace and well-being, both of our soul as well as our body, in numerous ways. It adds a little more essence to our lives by making us understand the importance of being grateful to what we have and appreciate life as it happens. As the scientific studies and research affirms, the feeling and expression of Gratitude has limitless positive outcomes. Be it your personal relationships, work life, mental health or even your immune system, Gratitude has its reflection over everything and aids to make you feel more alive. We often feel weak and baffled by those tough complex situations in our lives when we fail to find a way out or at least feel like it. In phases like these, people who practice gratitude usually come up with the reminder that even in the gloomiest moments, there’s always a beam of light shining through the darkness to make you recognize the brighter parts of every situation. There’s always a good hidden in the bad and your choice to uncover it with an open heart and mind is what makes everything worthwhile. The must known fact about practicing gratitude is, you don’t have to reserve it for epochal moments but notice it in the littlest of wins like you managing to witness the sunrise, getting free from your work before-time, a little chit-chat with a stranger on a shared cab or merely a hot cup of tea, it all depends on your perspective. People who are grateful, are the ones who are more stress resistant and know the art of celebrating life by living in the present. Here are 10 elementary steps to building your attitude of gratitude. Keep a gratitude journal ~ The most practiced way is maintaining a Gratitude journal and has resulted to be very effective. All you have to do is make a rough record or list of things that you felt grateful for. You don’t need to prepare a whole long list everyday and feel bounded about it but simply add one or more little things that made you smile and feel grateful, on a daily basis. This practice increases your ability to acknowledge things you usually fail to notice. Express your love and appreciation ~ Expression of what you feel is powerful and gives a sense of satisfaction and bliss. Write notes or letters to people you love, people who made you happy someday or simply the ones who were kind to you and you appreciate their act. Nurture your friendships and embrace what you have by sharing what you feel. This makes the other person happy as well and that reciprocation multiplies your satisfaction. The expression of your positive feelings also help in building good relationships and bridges the communication gap. Avoid negative media and switch to positive ~ Our senses, what we see and hear influences our actions and mood. Watching and listening to negative media brings you closer to negativity which starts reflecting in your behaviour as well. Try on watching positive videos, listening to soothing music, reading good books, all of this will help you notice and appreciate the good in the world and influence your behaviour positively. This helps people giving and attracting positive vibes which are very important to live and lead a healthy life. Observe the beauty of nature ~ A famous known and understood fact of life is, fall in love and find the beauty in things that would always stay along and you’d never need to search for it when you need it. Nature is one such beautiful part of our lives that won’t leave our side once you fall in love with it. The soothing wind, the sound of sea waves, colours of sunset shining through the clouds, the flower blooming as if smiling at you, these things are eternal and always makes you smile once you start understanding its beauty. The sky full of stars and you star-gazing can never feel lonely. Observing the beauty of nature brings happiness to your life by simply existing. Involve yourself in the acts of kindness ~ Join a cause that matters to you or get yourself involved in social work. Enrolling with an NGO can be a good idea but if not something in that large of scale, try doing small acts of kindness daily. Helping old aged people with whatever they need in a situation, feeding stray dogs, donating your old clothes or maybe just giving ten bucks extra to the street vegetable vendor without trying to bargain can be counted as your acts of kindness. The moment you start appreciating what you have by comparing yourself with the ones who have less and not more than you, you’ll understand the importance of having a giving nature and will start helping people out with whatever you can. The humbleness you show while doing such things makes you feel good about yourself subconsciously which later on helps you feel positive about yourself. Avoid criticizing, gossiping and talking negatively ~ You become what you feed your mind, what you believe, what you speak and what you surround yourself with. If you keep criticizing people and notice what their flaws are in your perspective, you’ll end up becoming a gloom-ridden person who fails to find and look at the plus of others and not minus. This gets reflected in our personality easily and we develop a negative vibe. Instead of gossiping around about somebody else’s life or criticizing them, try on appreciating them for what they are good at and notice the same. Nobody is perfect and everybody has flaws, our wisdom lies in accepting them while helping them out of it and not by discussing about their lives. You also must surround yourself with people who have an uplifting nature. Stop complaining ~ Like our happiness multiplies by expressing and sharing, the same happens with every other emotion. If you complain about situations in your life, the more you think and talk about it, the more it strengthens up in your heart and mind. You must understand the fact that there’s always gonna be difficulties and problems throughout your life and you’ll have to deal with it alone. What can be changed is the way you look at it, the way you perceive it. Try on having a positive approach towards your problems. Instead of feeling sad over it, try finding out what you got to learn through it. Try analyzing the whole phase and telling yourself what you’ll take forward about it and what you’ll leave behind. Make sure what you take forward is what helps you grow and not keep you stuck with the past. Start and end your day with gratitude ~ Be thankful for each day you’re gifted and take it as an opportunity to become a better person. Keep in mind that the gratitude you’re practicing is for your own good and your kind actions are just a source that lead you to the peace. Remind yourself that you’re worthy of all the bliss and ready for all the difficulties; for whatever happens, happens for good. Just like you begin your day with gratitude, end it the same way. It can be a little prayer or just a thanks, a text message of appreciation to somebody or a pat on your back while telling yourself that you made the day a good one with no regrets but happiness and peace. Some of the psychological aspects of practicing gratitude are the higher level of positive emotions, alertness and awakeness towards life everyday, more optimism, peace and happiness. Gratitude also assists our health by resulting with balanced blood pressure, good sleep, stronger immune system and makes us less bothered about the pain and aches. The attitude of gratitude not only helps us in multiple ways but the people around us as well. Our life is a sum of both good and bad. We learn and grow through our experiences. The sense of acceptance and gratitude brings us closer to the ultimate meaning of life and helps us live it to the fullest and isn’t that the best return gift to life? • The Land Rover Defender Octa: A Beast With A Posh Postcode

The Land Rover Defender Octa: A Beast With A Posh Postcode LIFESTYLE The Land Rover Defender Octa: A Beast With A Posh Postcode By Shriniwas Kodape 3 June 2025 Advertisement Picture a world where tanks decide they’ve had enough of war, swap their cannons for a 13.1-inch touchscreen, and sign up for rally school. That’s the Land Rover Defender Octa —a machine so ferociously capable it makes other SUVs look like they’re auditioning for a Prius convention. With a 626bhp V8 heart ripped straight from a BMW M car, this thing storms to 100km/h in four seconds flat, which is frankly absurd for something that looks like it could bench-press a small village. Land Rover claims it’s their most powerful Defender ever, a rugged aristocrat that laughs in the face of mud, mountains, and lesser 4x4s. But is it a genuine off-road titan, or just a Range Rover with an identity crisis? Dive into the Defender’s world to see what this beast is made of. The Octa’s design is a masterclass in blending grit with glamour, its boxy frame looming like a bouncer outside a Monte Carlo casino. Alpine light windows and a side-hinged tailgate nod to the Defender’s heritage , while sleek lines ensure it looks right at home in a Delhi penthouse garage or a Mayfair valet queue. Inside, exposed beams scream rugged, but the configurable centre console—tucking away your sunglasses or samosas like a magician’s trick—is pure sophistication. The optional front jump seat fits three, perfect for mates tagging along to a Sahara rally or an Alpine chalet. The Pivi Pro system’s 13.1-inch touchscreen serves up navigation and off-road data with the clarity of a five-star concierge. Add in premium leather that smells like money and storage for your adventure gear—think hiking boots or a cricket bat—and this cabin is ready for anything. Whether parked in Tokyo’s Ginza or Cape Town’s waterfront, the Octa’s style screams confidence, a rolling icon that demands attention wherever it roams. That 626bhp twin-turbo V8 roars like a lion that’s raided a coffee plantation, paired with an eight-speed gearbox smoother than a politician’s promise. The Active Locking Rear Differential and Yaw Controller make it carve corners like a Himalayan yak attempting a tango, defying its two-tonne bulk. It blitzes from 0-100km/h in four seconds, leaving supercars choking on dust from Autobahns to Himalayan trails. This isn’t just an SUV—it’s a rocket ship disguised as a 4x4, ready to outpace Porsches on coastal highways or claw up rocky ridges.Sprint through city streets like a Mumbai monsoon chase, or wrestle desert dunes like a Bedouin on a mission. It’s not cheap, but when you’re behind the wheel of a beast that makes lesser vehicles quiver, every penny feels like a ticket to glory. Explore its power in detail and you’ll see why it’s built for those who demand the extraordinary. The Octa doesn’t drive—it conquers, with 291mm ground clearance and angles (38, 28, 40 degrees) that laugh at cliffs. It wades through 900mm of water, from Amazon rivers to monsoon floods, with Terrain Response 2 tweaking settings for sand, snow, or mud like a seasoned explorer. ClearSight Ground View turns boulders into blips on the touchscreen, letting you navigate Arctic tundra or Rajasthan’s dunes like a pro. Yet, on tarmac, its suspension glides smoother than a private jet, making drives from Delhi to Jaipur or London to Edinburgh feel like a first-class lounge. Picture storming a Moroccan ridge at dawn, then rolling into a Dubai marina by dusk, passengers lounging in a cabin fit for a rock star’s entourage. The air suspension adjusts on the fly, soaking up potholes or lifting for rugged trails, while the 360-degree cameras make tight city parking a breeze. This adventure is redefined—check out its off-road prowess to see how it tames the wild with ease. For L’Utopia’s readers—Delhi’s urban elite or global tastemakers—the Defender Octa is a middle finger to the ordinary. It’s a status symbol that tackles mountains and dazzles at galas, as at home in Ladakh’s wilds as it is stealing the show in Paris. It laughs at potholes, shrugs off storms, and redefines what an SUV can be. From Sahara sands to Scottish moors, the Octa isn’t just a vehicle—it’s a lifestyle, a beast that makes the world your playground, and every journey a triumph. Whether you’re chasing horizons in the Outback or turning heads in Milan, this machine delivers a thrill that’s as raw as it is refined, a testament to Land Rover’s knack for building legends that rule both wilderness and city with swagger. • Expression Through Art Therapy

Expression Through Art Therapy LIFESTYLE Expression Through Art Therapy by Anushka Singh 1 September 2020 Advertisement Art and Mental Health are two amongst the most trivialized things in today’s era. People tend to misconceive the whole concept of art and undervalue the existence of mental health. And somehow, this commonality of being underrated is what makes the two complement each other for the best. The combination of Art and Mental Health might sound bizarre initially but makes perfect sense after gaining a clear perspective. And to perceive it clearly, let’s begin by separately understanding their essence. What is Art? The concept of art has been changing over the centuries and we can go about it in several ways. Art can often be contemplated as any and every kind of activity or creation that helps us express ourselves and intrigue other’s sense of emotions. It can be deep literature or mere scribbling, music production or sculpting, writing short poems to even dancing. Basically, everything that lets our feelings out through an activity can be considered as art. What is Therapy? Therapy is a process of treating one’s mental health, tension or stress rooting because of discrete life crisis be it relationships, career, self-doubt or any other hidden emotion you failed to understand. There are different types of therapeutic methods and of diverse degrees depending upon person to person. Also, it’s not mandatory to suffer from a mental disorder or any sort of psychological distress to be eligible for therapy. Turning back to the subject, by now you might be able to draw the link between art and therapy. Amongst the multiple elements of art, one is that it’s the solution to all your confusing situations where you find it hard to express and explore yourself, the kind of situation which leads to disturbed mental well-being. Mental health is something which is even ignored by us at times. But we all need to acknowledge it before it takes over our mind. Your problem can simply be the issue of low self-esteem or high self-doubt and you don’t really need to see a therapist but just apply the concept of performing arts in the context of therapy. Choose any approach or media like journaling, sculpturing or maybe just colouring your heart out, what truly matters is that you feel comfortable and easy while doing it. Self-expression through creativity can be very revealing and soothing. Creating art helps you take a stop and have a look back at what is up with your life and how is it affecting your choices and also lets you recognize feelings existing in the back of your mind. The therapy of art eases your emotions and releases your stress while working as a remedy to your depression. What’s important to remember is, you don’t have to be an artist to perform art therapy but just honest with yourself and the inborn artist in you will wake effortlessly. All the answers you need lies within you and art is the door that lets you enter this lane of solutions. As it is beautifully said, “Art Therapy transforms your pain into beauty”. • The Fractured Fairytale

SOCIETY by Akash Khatri The Fractured Fairytale 1 December 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement In June 2016, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex and the younger son of Charles, Prince of Wales and Diana, Princess of Wales began a relationship with Meghan Markle, a former actress and a celebrity philanthropist. The engagement was announced on November 27, 2017, by Harry’s father Charles, Prince of Wales. It generated generally positive comments about having a mixed-race person as a member of the royal family, especially in regard to Commonwealth countries with populations of blended or native ancestry. According to DailyMail, by an energy firm they have been branded the least eco-friendly Royals that found that their African tour had generated a hefty carbon footprint of an estimated three tonnes of CO2 each. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex engaged considerably less with environmental charities and engagements as compared to other members of the Royal family. Markle retired from acting after her engagement and began the lengthy process of becoming a British citizen. Meghan was baptized by the archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, and was confirmed her into the Church of England on March 6, 2018. The private ceremony took place in the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace and was performed with water from the River Jordan. The marriage ceremony was held on May 19 at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle. It was reportedly agreed in advance that excess funds generated from the BBC broadcast of the ceremony would go to a charity chosen by the newlywed couple. In April 2020, Feeding Britain was nominated to receive £90,000 from the BBC, they provided food packages to families in food poverty. After the wedding, the Duke and Duchess lived at Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace in London. They later moved to Frogmore Cottage in the Home Park of Windsor Castle. The Crown Estate refurbished the cottage at a cost of £2.4 million which was paid out of the Sovereign Grant. The Duke has reportedly paid back this amount in full. The Duchess gave birth to a son on May 6, 2019 named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor who is seventh in the line of succession to the British throne. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s office moved to Buckingham Palace and officially closed on March 31, 2020, when the Sussexes ceased “undertaking official engagements in support of the Queen”. After some months in Canada and the United States, the couple bought a house in June 2020 on the former estate of Riven Rock in Montecito, California. Currently, they live in a $14million mansion in Santa Barbara. Despite a few interruptions to his parental leave, the royal is said to have been sharing the load of the new-born with his wife. They have been following modern parenting techniques for their son’s upbringing. They even made a shocking decision to move from the UK and out of the royal spotlight. In 2020, harry and Meghan decided to step down as senior members of the royal family. 95% of the couple’s income was given to them annually by Charles, Harry’s father as part of his income from the Dutchy of Cornwell. They announced that they would balance between United kingdom and North America while also seeking financial independence as well as continuing to support their charities and the Queen. In March 2020, Harry’s appearance at the opening of the Silverstone Experience in Silverstone Circuit together with racing driver Lewis Hamilton was his final solo engagement as a senior royal before he and his wife officially stepped down on 31 March. News was in the air later that month after the duke and duchess recorded a video message for Times 100 urging Americans to vote, just weeks before the November 3 elections that the royal would consider running for president. Surprisingly the close folks denied any news of Meghan’s intentions in politics. According to observations though Prince Harry appears to improve his relationship with his brother Prince William they are not as close as they once were, on the other hand, it’s unlikely Meghan will ever want to return as she couldn’t achieve her desire to change the world while working as a member of the royal family. However, Prince Harry doesn’t share the same political ambitions as his wife and would want to work to help the disadvantaged. They have apparently burnt some bridges that now seem to be beyond repair. Harry is believed to be hurt after his request to lay a wreath at the Cenotaph on his behalf was denied by courtiers as he is no longer a working member of the Royal Family. The same has been denied by his grandmother the Queen, who is believed to be unaware of the request from Harry and has continued to keep the door open for his return to frontline duties. After resettling, the couple seems to have unveiled new Hollywood careers. They have found a yet to be known production company and signed a multilayer deal with 193 million worldwide subscribers company, Netflix which will pay them to make documentaries, feature films, children’s programming and scripted shows. The couple releases a statement stating, ” Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope. As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us.” Author Ingrid Seward slammed the way the couple marked Remembrance Day. Though the Sussex’s appeared to be on their own in the vast Los Angeles Cemetery, they had employed the services of celebrity fashion photographer to record their every scripted move after snaps showed the pair laying an all-green wreath. Royal author Sean Smith whose book Meghan Misunderstood revolves around the former Suits actress feels that within a week Meghan went from being a human right’s campaigner to Prince Harry’s hottie, within a week. The people want old Harry back but it seems like he is now lost forever. SEARCH Why India is the most depressed country in the world? • From Mowgli To Maverick: Why Shaan R Grover Feels Like The Real Deal

From Mowgli To Maverick: Why Shaan R Grover Feels Like The Real Deal By Ananya Patankar From Mowgli To Maverick: Why Shaan R Grover Feels Like The Real Deal 13 June 2025 COVER STORIES Advertisement An insider to the actor’s world of craft, discipline and meaningful impact. A theatre-schooled dreamer, turned Netflix antagonist, and webseries heartthrob—Shaan R Grover opens up about discipline, identity, and building a legacy in the digital spotlight. Meet actor Shaan R. Grover , a little boy who came to the industry with big dreams and incomprehensible ambition. To the audience he is a well established star but, personally allows his actions and success speak for themselves. Shaan portrays himself as a dreamer, a thinker, someone who strives to bring in a fresh perspective into the world of film. In the truest sense, Shaan is a movie junkie, thanks to his father who introduced him to the essential creations of Hindi cinema, the industry gained a new star. However, behind his quiet charm and cinema-fueled ambition is a story of grit, self-belief, and a vision that goes far beyond the frame, that's where Grover’s story begins. Shaan’s story begins at the age of 5, when he first took part in the play Mowgli , he didn’t know it then, but that barefoot boy on stage would grow into someone who loved a breathed cinema, and create a space for himself in this relentless industry. Shaan expresses that he has always seen himself as someone who belonged to films ,and describes himself as the ‘Chalta-firta encyclopedia’ of film. From believing that he could only be someone behind the camera he made it to the spotlight, and made even the unthinkable possible. Shaan recalls his college days where he wasn’t just another face in the theatre crowd but a renowned name. It was in the buzz of those auditoriums that the filmmaker in him quietly made space for the actor he would soon become. However, his passion for storytelling paved a path for him, one where the spotlight began to shed light on his true passion: acting. Grover’s debut film Noble Men was a spark, a moment where he realized his true potential. However, he deems not just one project but every project, and every person in his journey of importance, that helps him realize that he has what it takes to be where he has reached. He shaped his journey by a quiet, persistent voice that kept telling him, you belong here and you are here to stay. His Netflix debut with Noblemen was in its truest sense a ‘pinch-me’ moment for Shaan, it was when his dreams began to feel tangible. Shaan describes how acting for him is the most natural expression rather than just an escape. It became a space where he could put parts of himself into every role, and see himself from a new perspective with every new character he embodies. And while acting remains his truest home, Shaan has never been content staying in just one lane; his vision stretches far beyond the frame. While acting remains his sole purpose and ambition, Shaan’s creative pulse doesn’t stop there. He expresses his desire to be inclined entrepreneurially. His words understate and downplay his desire for building, creating and producing stories. Through his production house, Maverick Cinemas, Shaan has already produced multiple short films, several streaming on Hotstar. Grover expresses his passion of crafting space; for stories, for outsiders, for dreamers like himself. He wishes to umbrella all those who share this passion with him. Producing and film-making for Shaan doesn’t seem like a backup plan, rather a part of a bigger picture he has always seen. However, this ruthless industry makes it impossible to ignore how the system around him functions; and what needs to change. Grover doesn’t shy away from calling out what’s broken. He addresses the “dull phase” of Hindi cinema, which is now too often driven by algorithms and Instagram clout, rather than creativity or talent. He says “projects are being made; not films”, pointing to the pressure to cast influencers over actors, and spend big on star power instead of story telling. He admires and exemplifies the genuinity of Malayali and Kannada cinema, where budgets stay lean and scripts remain rooted. And while the majority of the industry chases virality, Shaan thinks it's wiser to keep the anonymity consistent, creating a mystery to the actor and roles they play, as well as truly earning a name through their craft. He acknowledges that the upcoming generation craves talent, authenticity and range, as he as well quietly works towards refining his craft, holding onto his mystery, and trusting that the right audience will find him. Moreover, Shaan’s next big dream isn’t just to act; it’s to produce the stories he’s written and build a space where new voices can thrive, he expresses with certainty, “maybe five or ten years from now; but that's the next chase” . Grover came to Mumbai with “nothing but blessings and belief”, and he hasn’t forgotten the storms he weathered. His legacy he hopes, will be one of perseverance, empathy, impact; helping dreamers like him, make a space for themselves in an industry that often forgets the underdogs. Shaan R Grover isn't chasing stardom. He is building something sturdier, and leaving the door open behind him. • The orientation of career in our country

SOCIETY by Aparajita Jaiswal The orientation of career in our country 1 June 2021 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Why does India wish to be a Two faction system? Doctors and engineers. Indian society as is known to most of us shows complete dominance over the personal choices of individuals such as career choice, mental health, marriage decision, what should be done or not, opinions and whatnot. The preliminary infusion of career choice in our country is only limited to two professions. Either be a doctor or become an engineer, only then can a person’s life commemorate a moment of success. Although, in this case, we cannot blame the older generation or our ancestors for instilling us with this faction system. If we go back three decades, we could see that there were no such pressures on children to choose out of such choices. The primary reason was that at that time the financial condition of most people used to be very mediocre. They could barely manage the education and livelihood of their family. Thus noble professions such as being a doctor or engineer were a luxury then. The people chose the profession according to the status of their family. So, this economic issue was one of the barriers in earlier times to go for their dream path. The other reason that crippled people from going towards their dream job is nepotism. The notion that children should follow their parents footpath. These issues still stay in society on the metaphorical level. The point here is to understand that even though society is adamant in pressurizing people to change their choices, initially it had some valid and credible reasons as given above. Nepotism is wrong but anyhow the career path is for betterment. The economic reason however is the fault of the other consequences. These two things, although unfair, seem credible. But the fact that only two professions in the whole herd of it can make life successful is so wrong. The two faction system came into existence a decade back where industrialization seemed to uplift the job scale of engineers. Whereas the recent developments in medical sciences lured students to help save some lives. In the initial phase, it was okay, but then students flooded in for enrolling. This created issues for institutions as they had limited numbers of seats. This prompted the creation of a competitive examination. Some time period went smoothly after this. But later on, there was this race to clear these competitive exams to get admissions, which still prevails to this very day. This created a new Industry for the economy, the industry of coaching classes. The situation is such in the country now that everyone only talks about these two exams which either lead to a career in the medical field or the technical field. This has led to the lynching of other careers. In case anyone doesn’t go ahead on these two so-called noble professions, then they are expected to pursue civil services. These are the frameworks that society has lined up for careers, anyone going beyond this threshold value is stupid according to society. The reason is so uncertain for those activities, was it because earlier times they couldn’t pursue medical or engineering, is it because you want your child to leave their dream to pursue something that would make it socially acceptable, is it because you want to keep your dominion over your child all their lives, the reason is unknown. But one thing is sure that those two professions are not your only choices. it also should be known that those two entrances also work at some places to get a better bachelors college. They are not just tickets to medical or engineering. This hidden thing no one knows. No one knows that our country’s research institute also invite people from higher secondary into a BS-MS program. Everyone just gets dejected and chooses a local college for bachelors, and even after that, this doesn’t end. There is no proper cycling up of information regarding plans, masters entrances, etc. This shows that as a country we are not providing our youth with enough information but subjecting them to a bundle of discretion. Many youtube channels have started speaking about this, but as a society, we need to break out of these two factions. We have to understand the happiness of our children, one can paint, write, talk or dance as a career there should not be any indulgence. Picture Abhi Baaki Hai Mere Dost – Alankrita Anup Sahai’s Journey by Aparajita Jaiswal Picture Abhi Baaki Hai Mere Dost – Alankrita Anup Sahai’s Journey 25 January 2023 COVER STORIES Advertisement The first Indian to win 7 titles at the Miss Earth pageant held in the Philippines, Alankrita Anup Sahai, gets candid with us and gives us a glimpse of her life journey. We asked her about the responsibilities which surely came along with the 7 titles of Miss Earth to which she said, “ Yes it did come with a lot of responsibility and hard work. Well, diamonds are made under pressure so, I somehow worked well with it and didn’t succumb to the pressure. I had to represent my country, which in itself is the biggest dream that came true and which surely filled me with a lot of pride. A lot of eyes were on me at that time. The pressure was undeniably a lot but I enjoyed every bit of it and turned any dark and dull moment into a humorous one. Presence of mind and being able to have fun, played a very important role in winning the same.” She tells us that acting was never a goal or a dream. However, in school days dancing and dramatics were her best friends and she was always participating in all the cultural activities. Inherently, all of it was a part of her but what she really wanted to become was an IAS officer but the universe had other plans and conspired for her. We asked her about her involvement in all the social work she does and how it personally affected her to which she said, “It has made me and my spectrum of understanding human psychology grow. It’s helped me serve the people who in return made my heart kinder and made me more aware that I should be grateful for what I have. They have taught me never to give up on hope and always strive to help or make someone smile even if takes an ocean or just a drop. Everyone should know that they really matter. I am an empath so I can feel things even more intensely now.” “Joyful, eventful, beautiful, hurtful and extremely delightful” – are the words she describes her journey with. The journey encapsulated a variety of experiences that made her what she is today. She says, “ The city of Mumbai took me in its arms and embraced me. She never let me go and never gave up on me. She gave me wings and I flew and built a life, a name that I would continue to work towards. I will enjoy this journey of a lifetime.” Looking back at her journey, she feels immense gratitude and hopes to be a better version of herself everyday. “My journey has been blissfully easy and difficult yet smooth, filled with joy and tears. An Amalgamation of emotions ! Picture abhi baaki hai mere dost.” For the obvious delight of her fans we asked her about her upcoming projects and she told us that her two films, ‘Tippsy’ and ‘Dead girls don’t talk’ are slated to release next year. Her upcoming Amazon series, songs and projects are all there in the pipeline. We asked her to share her mantra with the young girls who aspire to be the pageant queens, to which she said, “ Be true to who you are. Be confident and wear your smile like it’s worth a billion dollars. Do not ever succumb to bullies or bully anyone either. You may be heavily influenced by the world outside and Instagram could make you conscious but the world that’s inside of you is far more beautiful. You have to be mentally, emotionally and spiritually aligned and strong to be in any industry and face the challenges the world will throw at you. The will to rise with grace is the most important part of this journey. Avoid being with people who gossip because great minds talk about visions not people. In the end, attract what you expect, reflect what you desire, become what you respect and mirror what you admire. Life is a journey that has to have its own path but have a little fun along the way and don’t get extremely serious. Your mental health is the top goal, it’s your temple so don’t pollute it. I believe the recipe to finding yourself is to be able to be creative and co-exist with like minded people who see the good and bad in you and show you the light even when you don’t see it . In school we are taught a lesson and then given a test but in life we are given a test from which we learn our lessons . So I believe the only way forward in life is to keep evolving and being your authentic self.” For her story of competing in the Miss Earth, she says that her friends, family and colleagues had played a major role. They pushed her forward and inspired her to follow her calling. “ It was an accidental, universally conspired entry which resulted in the most monumental event of my life. This event is the most special thing for me as it changed my life forever.” “ Attract what you expect, reflect what you desire, become what you respect and mirror what you admire.” SEARCH A Journey Shaped By Courage, Creativity, And Social Media With Aditi Sharma COVER STORIES Inner Joy Trails My Inspiration : A Candid Conversation With The Creative Anushka Kaushik COVER STORIES Barkha Singh’s candid candour makes the way to an eye-catching interview COVER STORIES Educate, Empower, Excel: Priyanka Chahar Choudhary's Inspirational Overture COVER STORIES Waluscha De Sousa On Being Her ‘True Self’ And Going On The Dream Journey COVER STORIES POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Sakshi Shah Across Languages, One Voice: Sheena Chohan 1 April 2026 COVER STORIES By Sakshi Shah Mananveer Singh On Making Music That Feels Natural And Real 24 March 2026 COVER STORIES By Sakshi Shah Falak Khan On Acting, Identity, And Letting Her Work Speak For Itself 9 March 2026 COVER STORIES By Shriniwas Kodape Tej Music Vodka: The DJ Turning Youth Culture Into a Moving Dancefloor 30 January 2026 COVER STORIES RELATED POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement

  • A Journey Of Transformation, Empathy, And Unwavering Passion With Jitin Gulati

A Journey Of Transformation, Empathy, And Unwavering Passion With Jitin Gulati By Anushka Sharma A Journey Of Transformation, Empathy, And Unwavering Passion With Jitin Gulati 11 October 2024 COVER STORIES Advertisement We recently had the pleasure of speaking with Jitin Gulati , a dynamic actor who has been making waves with his unique roles and remarkable journey in the entertainment industry. Reflecting on his career, Jitin shares that his evolution as an actor has been as much about personal growth as it has been about his diverse roles. “In one word, if I had to sum up my journey, it would be ‘enriching.’ The characters I've portrayed have taught me not only about the craft but also about myself as a person,” he shares, offering a glimpse into his reflective approach to his work. Jitin emphasizes that, for him, the genre of a project is secondary. What truly excites him is the complexity and depth of the roles he takes on. “I am more drawn to characters that are far removed from my own life. It’s an opportunity to explore new worlds and bring these unfamiliar personas to life with empathy.” He credits the directors and creative teams he works with for making this experience even more profound. One of Jitin’s latest projects, “Tribhuvan Mishra CA Topper”, available on Netflix, touches on important societal themes. “While the show is wrapped in a comedic tone, it subtly discusses issues like gender, masculinity, and how professions that are often misunderstood or stigmatized deserve the same respect as any other.” Jitin was particularly drawn to the lack of judgment in the script and was excited to work on a role that presented such important conversations in a lighthearted setting. When asked about his most cherished projects, Jitin couldn’t pick just one. He recalls the camaraderie developed over five years while working on “Bombay Meri Jaan”,particularly as the project spanned several COVID lockdowns. Another significant milestone in his career was playing a transgender character in “Kala”, a role that opened up an entirely new world for him. “From makeup to costume fittings, it was an immersive experience—both nerve-wracking and incredibly rewarding.” Despite his passion for acting, Jitin cherishes his time off with family. As an actor constantly on the move, he values the time spent reconnecting with his roots and his family in Faridabad. “It’s my way to recharge, and it grounds me,” he reflects. As for future plans, Jitin’s focus remains clear: he aims to keep learning and growing. He’s excited about his upcoming projects, including a supernatural horror film and a period fantasy drama. He also shared an inspiring facet of his life: before pursuing acting full-time, Jitin worked for nearly nine years in banking. “It was a big leap, but I’ve always known my dream was to act. Sometimes, you just have to take that chance,” he adds. In closing, Jitin revealed his admiration for industry legends Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, both of whom he’s had the honor of working with. “People often say you shouldn’t meet your heroes, but in this case, you absolutely should. They are as remarkable in person as they are on screen.” This candid conversation with Jitin provided a deeper look into the man behind the roles—a thoughtful actor continually evolving in his craft and inspiring others with his journey. • Cloud Kitchens are the new buzz

by Rupashree Ravi Cloud Kitchens are the new buzz 14 August 2022 FOOD Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement The future of cloud kitchens looks promising and brighter than ever. In the last two decades, we have seen people dining out more often for a change from home-cooked meals. But in recent times, there’s been a gradual shift to ordering food at home and an increase in take-out options. Moreover, the Covid-19 pandemic changed the complete economics of food and restaurant businesses. While dine-in trends will continue to exist, the industry is focusing a lot more on food deliveries. With just three ingredients – a great menu, a kitchen space, and smart packaging, you can create and run a successful cloud kitchen. Its simplicity and low-cost model have pushed hundreds of people over the last two years to jump onto the bandwagon. The domestic cloud kitchens market is expected to grow from $400 million in 2019 to $2 billion by 2024. Cloud kitchens are leading from the front to bring about this change. But what exactly are cloud kitchens? Unlike brick-and-mortar restaurants, cloud kitchens don’t have a dine-in facility. They take orders via apps, in-house or through delivery partners like Swiggy and Zomato and operate single or multiple food brands. A booming cloud kitchen in Delhi The perfect recipe to run a successful cloud kitchen is by selling an amazing food product. Cloud kitchens are popular because of the food they offer. Unlike a restaurant with a great dining experience where people go for the service and ambience, a cloud kitchen’s only value is its food. So, the food on the menu is the most important ingredient of a cloud kitchen, and not working on the product well enough and creating a good menu will most certainly not work. Cloud kitchen owners should work on their food to make it stand out. They should master the recipe and find a niche over their competitors. Cloud kitchen rely on their delivery and take-out format For cloud kitchens to be able to sustain, they need to keep their costs low. They must be careful not to spend too much money on packaging. The cost of packaging for cloud kitchens should not be more than 5 per cent of total expenses. Kitchen experts suggest that the cost of goods sold should ideally be around 25 per cent of total costs. Although food packaging is one of the most important parts of a cloud kitchen, one has to ensure that the packaging ensures safe travel of the food from the kitchen to the consumer, while also offering hygiene and taste. Packaging is also a great way to market your cloud kitchen The biggest mistake that cloud kitchens do is operating 6-7 brands from one location. When there are 10 different cuisines in one kitchen, the manpower has to be trained specifically. The equipment used for one cuisine might not work for the other. That’s why a lot of cloud kitchens have a problem making money. Being particular about locations can be a bad decision as Profitable cloud kitchens can flourish even in tier 2 cities more than in fancy urban hubs. So, what’s fuelling this growth in cloud kitchens? In India, a person on an average orders 6-7 meals per month at home, which is far lower than the global average of 16 orders a month. Hence, the scope to expand this segment is huge and it is important that those looking to start a successful venture or business capitalise on this opportunity. • Wine Tasting Is An Art

by Akash Khatri Wine Tasting Is An Art 7 July 2022 FOOD Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement “Wine gets better with age & I get better with wine” if this phrase sounds familiar then this article is for you. In case you are a wine-lover, I do not need to explain you the types of wine available out there and surely the concept of “wine tasting” is not new to you. But did you know about the 5 S’s of wine tasting? If yes, great! If not, then you must not leave this article as this article is going to talk exactly about it. Wine tasting is nothing less than an art and there are precise and well defined steps for the same. Let us jump directly to these 5 “S” of wine tasting: See: Well, I am sure you have been fascinated about the different colors of wine available in the market. So the very first step is all about seeing through the wine and this is a very important step while tasting wine. The color should be examined well while tasting wine and for this very reason most of the times the wine is served in a room which is having white background. The color will give you a clue about the variety of grapes used and the age of the wine. Experts suggest taking your wine in “stemmed wine glass”. Do not forget to tilt the glass against the white background to see the true color of the wine. Swirl: Taking the wine poured glasses and then slightly twisting it in the air definitely looks very fancy. But do you know why this step is so important? Because while swirling, the wine gets the required amount of oxygen to “open up, as in the aroma of the wine starts to hit your olfactory senses. This step helps wine to absorb oxygen and oxygen helps wine to break down and eventually softens which is a good thing! Sniff: Now that from your previous step you could unleash the aroma of the wine, it’s important to take a good note of the same. For that you need to sniff the wine and let the aroma sink in your nostrils to enable you to understand the sources of the fine wine that you are about to taste! Sip: Now that you have got yourself accustomed with the aroma, it’s important for you to take a good sip of the lovely wine from your stemmed wine glass. Take a good sip and whirl it around in your mouth for like 4-5 seconds before gulping it down. Try and understand if you can evaluate any distinct taste. Savor: This is kind of an after-taste experience. Once you have gulped down a few sips of the wine in question, try and examine for how long the taste stays in your mouth. Whether you experienced any particular dominating taste or it was well balanced. Experts say if the after-taste lingers over 20 minutes in your mouth then my friend you have experience an exceptionally good wine! Now that you know the steps well for tasting wine please go and grab yourself a place in one of the wine-tasting tours! • Sneak Peek into Restaurant Kitchens

by Aparajita Jaiswal Sneak Peek into Restaurant Kitchens 6 July 2022 FOOD Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Should you or should you not look behind the restaurant kitchen doors You are celebrating your promotion at work at your favorite restaurant and you have ordered a tasty, locally grown organic meal. You indulge completely to savor your food, while feeling good that your life appears to be just perfect. What could be better? Well, as a starter: the conditions in which your food is prepared. Food with attitude is okay, but food with hygiene is rather more important. Ever wondered whether or not the food, we tend to treat ourselves with at restaurants, is prepared maintain the standard conditions of cleanliness and hygiene? Ever thought of having a sneak peek into the kitchen of your favorite restaurant and say Hi to the chefs? Maybe you should, once in a while. Good food is definitely good vibes until you get sick because of the low standard of cleanliness and hygiene at restaurants and eateries. Catching food infections at a restaurant is the worst nightmares of their guests, more commonly evident in children. Customers would obviously wish to dine in a restaurant that serves hygienic food and focuses on cleanliness. The point of concern here now is how do we decide which of the restaurant serves hygienic food and which of them do not maintain the standard hygiene conditions. As a usual ideology, it is assumed that the high standard five start restaurants serve the most hygienic food and maintain high standard cleanliness. Provided the fact that the entire staff of such a restaurant is well qualified and considerably trained, justifies such an image of the restaurant in people’s minds. People usually prefer the high standard and obviously expensive restaurants over the shabby, précised or pinpoint restaurants with a moderate yet considerable ambience and quality services. This preferentiality is due to the assumption of the fact that the more you pay, the higher quality of services you avail and thus the food served must be hygienic enough. The actual fact might be that you end up paying for the ambience and services provided more than over the food served. Must give this a thought! Taking the quality of food served and hygiene maintained into consideration, there is always a chance that due to such high maintenance of the 5-star restaurants, they have an access to well-furnished technology as well. There are always freezers which help them store food for longer period of time. In fact, the food served in all the franchises of large and renowned brands, have a supply of their raw materials, always in a frozen form. Nobody would actually want to eat something that is in the refrigerator of the house for a day or two, but readily enjoy such meals in the restaurants. Street foods, highly enjoyed and populous among the young, is considered to be oily and unhygienic by many. Several videos and pictures of the unhygienic conditions in which street food is prepared are timely circulated over the social media. People here tend to be very aware and concerned about the hygiene maintained and threaten the owners of small stalls by recording their videos and posting over the social media negative review or feedback. However, the fact that a considerable proportion of the entire population within a metropolitan city relies upon the street food cannot be taken for granted. What else could make the best example, but the Vada Pav in Mumbai is a staple diet for everyone, be it employees, strugglers or anyone as such. Do people here talk about hygiene? Obviously not! Is your health adversely effected by Vada Pav? Obviously not! It is not all about the quality of services provided, the fact that these street foods are freshly prepared everyday and you can actually witness the food being prepared and immediately served is what makes it safe. The fact to thus understand is that the points to consider while choosing which restaurant to dine in, shouldn’t just the ambience or the quality of service provided but the quality of food, the raw materials used, the steps taken by the cooks and serving staff to maintain hygiene and of course the freshness of the food served. You cannot form a general opinion regarding the hygiene conditions of restaurants based upon the hierarchy of restaurants. The places like food stalls can serve hygienic food as well. The high standard restaurants and at times fail to do so as well and vice versa. You, as a consumer need to wisely choose among all these restaurants. Make sure that you dine to be healthy and fine. • Norway’s Impressive Art Of Recycling

SOCIETY by Anushka Singh Norway’s Impressive Art Of Recycling 27 July 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Norway, the country of enthralling natural beauty, is excelling the art of waste management. The kingdom of Norway has come up with ideas worth adopting and has positively brought the entire conception of the three R’s into play. While other industrialized nations still scuffle, at an alarming rate, with the consumption of problematic plastic waste, Norway stands out by managing to recycle up to 97% of its plastic bottles. The country is breaking ground in scrutinizing all the aspects of waste supervision techniques by implementing a nationwide bottle deposit scheme. Recycling technology has come a long way since the earliest vital investments in the sector. Anything and everything can now be recycled; paper, plastic, metal or an entire house. Through an organization called Infinitum, the Scandinavian country has established itself as the most effective of all by designing the best environment-friendly modes of recycling plastic bottles. While other countries are still in the process of forming a good stable model for recycling plastic trash, Norway sometimes imports trash to keep its recycling process going. What makes Norway awe-inspiringly different is the way it has given recycling a value it never had and this value is what makes the companies and consumers walk on the righteous path to conserve our environment. Their radical approach is based on a loan scheme implying that when a consumer buys any plastic bottle, they are charged an additional amount of money equivalent to about 13 to 30 US cents which can be redeemed in discrete ways. The buyer can either take the plastic bottle to one of the several thousand ‘reverse vending machines’ present in public spaces like schools and supermarkets which returns the money after scanning the barcode of the deposited bottle or they can return them in shops and gas stations in exchange of money or store credit. Also, the plastic producers in Norway are subject to an environmental tax and almost all of them have signed up for the bottle deposit scheme. Hence, the more plastic they recycle, the lesser their tax is and on reaching the target of recycling over 95 percent of total produced plastic, they don’t have to pay at all. The four-container system Apart from having the world’s most effective plastic recycling plans, Norway also has an intricate system that the locals have been taught since childhood. The Norwegian recycling idea also involves a colour coding system. The coloured bins and bags are basically to help people decipher what type of waste goes where. There are green, blue and white bins in0 some places and plain bins that take the specific green, blue and white waste in others. The food and organic waste should be dumped in the green bin/bag, all plastic packaging in blue, paper or cardboard related waste in white and lastly, the electronic or hazardous waste in the red. Being one of the most systematic countries, Norway has remained unbeaten in maintaining a sound lifestyle for its citizens. And the Norwegian system of waste management is definitely giving the rest of the world a brilliant blueprint by proving that with the right tech and proper awareness, we can take big steps to have a trash-free future. #NorwayRecyclingTrashWasteWastemanagementPlasticPlasticbottlePlastictrashPlasticrecycling SEARCH Why India is the most depressed country in the world?
