- Four Seasons Bangkok: Elegance On The Edge Of Madness
By Shriniwas Kodape By Shriniwas Kodape Four Seasons Bangkok: Elegance On The Edge Of Madness 21 July 2025 TRAVEL Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement The boy at the ferry terminal had a cigarette tucked behind his ear and a cobra tattoo curling down his neck. He didn’t say a word. Just pointed upriver, where the brown Chao Phraya slid slow and wide, like the city had been bleeding into it for centuries. The boat pulled up—silent, carved teak and polished brass, elegant in a way that felt like a setup. I stepped aboard like a man unsure if he’d packed enough sins to deserve what was coming. Bangkok doesn’t offer warm welcomes. She eats your shoes, kisses your cheek, and leaves her perfume on your collar while she vanishes into traffic. But ride the river long enough—past grilled pork skewers, alleyways that smell like diesel and durian, monks with AirPods—and you’ll hit a lull in the madness. That’s where Four Seasons Bangkok lives. Not stands. Lives. This isn’t a hotel. It’s a whispered confession of what hospitality could be if we all just tried a little harder. You don’t enter. You get absorbed. First by stillness: sheets of water like glass, marble that hums underfoot, ceilings that arch like they’ve been blessed. Art isn’t an afterthought here. It leans toward you like it’s got secrets to tell. And then there’s the scent—jasmine, bergamot, maybe a dash of whatever the ultra-rich wear when they want to feel grounded. Subtle. Addictive. My room overlooked the river. Floor-to-ceiling windows wrapped the view like a confession. The Chao Phraya didn’t pose for pictures. It moved, muttered, judged. Temples blinked gold across the way, while barges slithered past like half-sunken beasts. I sat on the bed longer than I care to admit, just watching the sky soften into a mango-stained hush, and wondering when I last let myself be still. But stillness in Bangkok is a fragile thing. I headed for Yu Ting Yuan—the kind of name that rolls off the tongue like a lie you want to believe. It’s Michelin-recommended now (once starred, and still proud). The lacquered duck was divine. The dim sum? Heartbreak in a bamboo steamer. The service knew me before I opened my mouth. I didn’t eat. I surrendered. Next came Riva del Fiume, the hotel’s ode to Italy. Think Amalfi with Bangkok’s swagger. Breakfast turned spiritual: buttery croissants, mango like flame, espresso that understood my problems but never judged. By the third morning, I’d stopped checking the menu. The staff knew what I needed better than I did. But it’s after dark that Four Seasons really seduces. BKK Social Club isn’t a bar. It’s a fever dream in velvet and glass. The kind of place where Anthony Bourdain would’ve ordered a negroni and never left. I chugged four. Each one more perfect than the last—Campari, vermouth, gin, ice cold and unapologetically bitter. The kind of bitter that makes you feel seen. I had something called Bananazo too—rum, cacao, banana bitters. It tasted like Havana and burned like Buenos Aires. The bartender didn’t talk much. Just nodded like a priest serving penance. And when I finally stumbled out—high on citrus and sins—I felt more myself than I had in years. The next morning, salvation called from The Urban Wellness Center. 2,500 square meters of forgiveness. Thai massage. Quartz stones. A therapist who cracked my joints with the precision of a surgeon and the tenderness of a monk. I came out smelling like lemongrass and absolution. But the genius of Four Seasons Bangkok isn’t in the duck or the drinks or the divine spa. It’s in the spaces between. The silence before the jazz kicks in. The way the light hits the pool at 5:47 PM. The staff remembering your name like it’s a poem, not a job. The world still spun madly outside. Tuk-tuks screamed. The markets throbbed. Somewhere, a tourist ordered a fishbowl cocktail and made a mistake. But not here. Here, the river slowed. The wind hushed. And for a few stolen days, I didn’t need to run. I was home. - Waluscha De Sousa On Being Her ‘True Self’ And Going On The Dream Journey
Waluscha De Sousa On Being Her ‘True Self’ And Going On The Dream Journey by Panav Minocha Waluscha De Sousa On Being Her ‘True Self’ And Going On The Dream Journey 29 December 2022 COVER STORIES Advertisement Waluscha De Sousa is an Indian actress and model who made her debut into Bollywood in the 2016 film Fan. She was recently in the Hindi-language thriller on Sony Liv-Tanaav. Waluscha made her debut into the fashion and modeling industry at the early age of 16. When asked the pros and cons of this early venture into the world of glamour, she replied that she didn’t plan at first to start working at 16. However, she just happened to be discovered at that age by the late fashion designer Wendell Rodricks, and felt extremely fortunate to have worked under his guidance. “He held my hand and never let go. I was very very lucky and very very fortunate to have someone like him (Wendell)”, she said. Having achieved milestones early on in her career, Waluscha mentioned how she became the face of Wendell’s clothing brand, got to be on the cover of a Femina magazine at the age of 17, and starred in a Pepsi commercial with Shah Rukh Khan at the same age. She also talked about how she went onto becoming MTV’s fresh face, and walked in the first Lakm é fashion week in India. She expressed immense gratitude towards Wendell Rodricks for all these achievements. “I owe him so much. So much of what I am today wouldn’t have been possible without him. For me, the journey was smooth with a few bumps along the way, but when I look back I’m just very grateful for having somebody like that in my life.” Waluscha comes from a mixed cultural background, being half Goan-Portuguese (from her father’s side) and half German (from her mother’s side). She was asked how this affected her career, and if it hampered it in any way. Her response: “Yes and no. I inherited my mother’s external appearance. This helped me immensely in the glamour industry. Although, I am inherently very much Indian and I’ve inherited this from my father.” She explained how India and Indian culture played a huge role in her life. “I was born and brought up in India, studied in India, and have my friends and family here.“ On the other hand, Waluscha also talked about some hardships she faced in the film industry. “Unfortunately I didn’t see the same embrace in the film industry. There was this preconceived notion in everybody’s heads that I was not Indian and didn’t speak the language, or I’m not desi, when it’s actually quite the contrary.” She said that she knew how to read and write in not only Hindi, but having grown up in Goa, was fluent in Marathi and Konkani just as well. “All the work that I’ve done in web-series and films has helped me break this notion.” Starting her career as a model, Waluscha only later ventured into the film industry. When asked if this was always her goal or if it happened inevitably, she replied that acting was something she always wanted to do. “The arts were something which always attracted me. Goa is a land filled with singers, musicians, and theatre. I was always drawn to the stage, and you would have seen me on the stage much more than you would see me in the classroom. It was a space that I really enjoyed and it was always inherently who I was. “ Waluscha also appeared to be incredibly enlightened by the response that her latest series- Tanaav, has received. “Tanaav has helped me break the notion that I am in some way un-Indian much more than any of my other work done in the past. The response that has come in post Tanaav has been overwhelming. I cannot even describe the feeling. Two days post it’s release, suddenly everyone knew my name, people who matter actually saw and appreciated my work…” Tanaav is a Hindi-language action thriller streaming on Sony Liv, revolving around conflict in the Kashmir Valley. It is a remake of the Israeli TV series Fauda, which is streamed internationally on Netflix. Waluscha plays the role of Zainab Riaz in the show. - Lana Scolaro: Breaking Barriers In The Male-Dominated Music Industry
Lana Scolaro: Breaking Barriers In The Male-Dominated Music Industry by Anushka Sharma Lana Scolaro: Breaking Barriers In The Male-Dominated Music Industry 2 March 2023 COVER STORIES Advertisement Lana Scolaro, a rising star in the electronic music scene, has been breaking barriers in the male-dominated industry since she first stepped behind the decks. Hailing from Ibiza, the birthplace of electronic music, Lana's passion for music began at a young age. She played the cello and keyboard and was surrounded by DJs and music every summer. This exposure sparked her interest in pursuing a career as a DJ. In an industry where men dominate the scene, Lana faced some challenges as a female DJ. Some venues and people did not take her seriously due to her ultra-feminine style and look. However, Lana did not let this deter her from achieving her dreams. She persevered, constantly producing music, and releasing at least one song a month. She also participated in podcasts, interviews, and radio shows, always looking for new sounds to keep her relevant in the industry. As an artist, Lana has a unique vision that she balances with the demands of the music industry and her fans. Currently, she is incorporating her creative vision in the digital metaverse, where she has created her own dream house that is already in the NFT Oasis. This way, her music can be displayed, and fans can watch her in concert in the digital world. Lana is continuously evolving, and her creative vision is evident in her work. Throughout her career, Lana has been influenced by several artists, including Solomun, Santiago Garcia, Rami Bedouin, and Luciano, whom she watched perform in Ibiza. However, Gwen Stefani is the artist she looks up to the most. She adores Gwen Stefani's music, and she loves her style. Lana relates to the emotions that go into Gwen Stefani's songs and finds her inspiring. Apart from music, Lana loves painting and producing short animation projects. If not a DJ, she would have chosen to be an actress or a painter. When asked about her advice to aspiring female DJs, she encourages them to keep practicing and mixing on CDJs. She also advises them to put their music out on SoundCloud, YouTube, and every platform possible to be heard. Showcasing your music and getting feedback from fans is crucial to success. Touring and traveling can be challenging, but Lana manages to balance her personal and professional life with four phones. One of her most memorable performances was at the Texas Road to Nowhere Festival. It was her first time in Texas, and she was not supposed to play, but her good friend Chanel West Coast put her on stage and let her perform her single "Rick Ross." Lana envisions the future of the music industry as a digital metaverse, where people can watch her DJ in the virtual world. Her current and future projects include collaborating with brands in the fashion industry, producing a unique track with a male artist, and working on a new collection for her jewelry line LS Diamonds. With her drive, creativity, and passion for music, Lana Scolaro is sure to make waves in the industry and continue breaking barriers for female DJs. - The Icon of Minimalistic Fashion
The Icon of Minimalistic Fashion by Aparajita Jaiswal The Icon of Minimalistic Fashion 16 July 2021 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement From a mediocre hat designer to one of the prime influences on American Fashion, Halston emerged as one of the greatest illustrators of minimalism and luxurious fashion. As halter necks still tend to be one of the greatest trends in fashion today, one shall go back to the 1970s when Halston gave the halter neck an upgrade with his luxurious touch. Surrounded with silk tranquillity, his halter dress which he designed for his closest one, Liza Minnelli gained immense amount of recognition. It was simple, classic, sophisticated in every way with a hint of luxury. In the most momentous fashion shows in the history of American Fashion, The Battle of Versailles, his victory marked the birth of an icon with his magic and gained gigantic fame. He was also notable for the diversity of race and culture in his models which represented his art. His work and closed affiliation with some of the renowned faces like Andy Warhol and Bianca Jagger brought him more recognition. Halston created a water-proof trench coat, expanding his brand across the country. As much as he liked to party at the Studio 54, he gave birth to Disco-Dressing and entered the world of shimmer in the form glitzy glam and sequined outfits. But nothing took take place of the glamour of the Halter, which was popularized across America. His appeal of sophisticated fashion comes from the fantastic choice of materials he used for his designs. From cashmere silk to shimmering satin, Halston had it all. The brand logo itself expressed Halston’s love for minimalism. If one watched the Netflix documentary “ Halston”, they could notice how he surrounded himself with minimalism, through his choice of dark colours in his house and his office furnished with red walls and glass. His day to day black outfits with long coats of mostly beige, expressed his monochromatic lifestyle. Growing a brand by creating vast varieties of products and lines can be very challenging, but Halston loved challenges. Beginning with dresses refining classy appeal, he introduced his monochromatic taste through a line of luxurious luggage, red carpets, aviators, bath robes, and what not. Eventually, He ended up selling his brand and his name to Norton Simon Inc. For which he was offered approximately 11 million dollars. He became the Creative Director of the brand he founded. Side by side, Halston became an addict of cocaine consumption because of his regular visit to Studio 54. He also faced relationship crisis the same time his business was steeply moving towards decline. A dialogue of Halston (Ewan McGregor) from the Netflix documentary, – “ I must be a real artist because I am a terrible businessman” – touches ones heart. Money brings fame, but it can also take away everything. Halston spent his last days driving to San Francisco, soon after he was tested positive for AIDS related lung cancer. After two years in Francisco, the world lost an iconic designer in March 1990. - Is Fragrance in Skincare of Concern: Decoded
Is Fragrance in Skincare of Concern: Decoded by Aishwarya Is Fragrance in Skincare of Concern: Decoded 3 November 2022 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Fragrances play a huge role in our day-to-day life. They are an important aspect of our life. Often we human beings associate a certain person, food, incident or event, with the fragrance that reminds us of them. They play the role of making us feel nostalgic and associate with the source even more. While we all love a good fragrance, some people seem to have problems with perfume being in skin care. Though unfortunately, there isn’t a clear answer to whether fragrance in skincare is bad or not, still there is a lot of controversies surrounding it. A nice-smelling face mask seems like a perfect match for your me-time routine, but for some, it's the worst thing to do for their skin. The fragrance has become controversial in recent years, and the credit goes to YouTube videos, Subreddit threads, and many other social media platforms. According to a study, the American Academy of Dermatology suggests that fragrance is one of the most common causes of contact dermatitis , which affects roughly 1% of the population. As you can see, the number is quite nominal. So whether your skin could suffer some irritation due to scented skincare or not, is subjective and complex. On top of that, there isn’t a particular way to find out whether your skin will get irritated or not. There isn’t a single or particular symptom to find out the risk, which makes it difficult for you to decide, whether to use scented skincare or not. There are two types of fragrances, that can be used in your skincare; synthetic and natural. Your basic instinct would be to opt for natural fragrances. But is natural always better than chemicals? According to the experts, not really. Let us first understand what synthetic fragrances are. Synthetic fragrances are the ones, that are created in the lab. Furthermore, synthetic fragrances can be either fully synthetic or semi-synthetic. Semi-synthetics are the ones that are partially created and the rest is natural. Many brands choose synthetic fragrances for their products, as it lasts longer than natural fragrances. Generally, the natural scent has a shelf life of around one to two years, while synthetic fragrances has a shelf life of five years. Natural fragrances are derived from a natural source, like lavender or rose. They aren’t created by humans, so they are available in just one form; all-natural. The only problem with natural fragrances is their shelf life, rather than that it serves its purpose. Now, that being said, even natural essential oils can cause severe skin irritation. So, before you get into investigating the concerns of fragrances in skincare, look for the products that work best for you. Not everyone is allergic to fragrances and you need to know that skincare is subjective. While it is important for us to know what’s there in our skincare. We should also know, how a certain product reacts to our skin. Applying a little bit of the product to the back of your ear can be a great way to start. Fragrances are harmful to some people, but it isn’t toxic chemical you need to be worried about. With that being said, always do what your skin needs. According to a study, the American Academy of Dermatology suggests that fragrance is one of the most common causes of contact dermatitis , which affects roughly 1% of the population. #Skincare #Fragrances #UnscentedSkincare #Fragrancefree #Controversy #SkinTalk #SkinFacts SEARCH Why does Fashion Need Fashion Shows FASHION From Dreams To Crowns: Anuradha Garg’s Inspiring Mrs. India Story FASHION Colour Psychology in Fashion: Explained FASHION Legendary Female Icons Who Made Fashion Statements In The 20th Century FASHION The House of Chanel: History FASHION POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Shriniwas Kodape The Snake That Wore Red: Inside The Vision Cultured™ Revolution 19 October 2025 FASHION By Sakshi Shah Francesca Bellettini Ushers In Gucci’s New Dawn 19 September 2025 FASHION By Shriniwas Kodape Dibba Studio: Weaving The Future Of Fashion At Thailand Fashion Week AW25-26 2 September 2025 FASHION By Shriniwas Kodape Aksstagga: Threads That Whisper Love, Memory, And Eternity 21 August 2025 FASHION RELATED POSTS Advertisement

- Kyle Wiens’ surreal hiring policies!
Kyle Wiens’ surreal hiring policies! by Aparajita Jaiswal Kyle Wiens’ surreal hiring policies! 27 July 2020 LIFESTYLE Advertisement Kyle Wiens, the CEO of iFixit as well as founder of Dozuki, talks about his hiring policies and especially stresses on basic grammar skills. He believes that not knowing the basic grammar reflects on the applicants learning curve. “Grammar is my litmus test. All applicants say they’re detail-oriented; I just make my employees prove it.” Grammar is a basic requirement for all companies. Wiens, stresses on the fact that he may seem slightly harsh in his hiring policies as grammar may not have anything to do with the applicant’s qualification for the job. The applicant may otherwise be qualified but their lack of grammar skills shows their lack of a present mind. Although he does not seem to agree with Lynne Truss who thinks that people who mix up their itses “deserve to be struck by lightning, hacked up on the spot and buried in an unmarked grave.” He just thinks that they should be passed over for a job. A mere comma can make all the difference in the world and is he wrong? Everyone who applies for a position at either of Wiens’ companies, iFixit or Dozuki, takes a mandatory grammar test as they write for a living. iFixit is the world’s largest online repair manual, and Dozuki helps companies write their own technical documentation, like paperless work instructions and step-by-step user manuals. So, it only makes sense that Wiens made a preemptive strike against groan-worthy grammar errors. Writing isn’t in the official job description of most people in the office and yet they give out grammar tests to everybody, including their salespeople, operations staff, and the programmers. Kyle Wiens may go as far as to pass on a great programmer who cannot write, even in this hyper-competitive market. He says, “I’ve found that people who make fewer mistakes on a grammar test also make fewer mistakes when they are doing something completely unrelated to writing — like stocking shelves or labeling parts. “In the same vein, programmers who pay attention to how they construct written language also tend to pay a lot more attention to how they code. You see, at its core, code is prose.” Wiens reckons to the belief that the devil is in the details. “In fact, when it comes to my whole business, details are everything. And I guarantee that even if other companies aren’t issuing grammar tests, they pay attention to sloppy mistakes on résumés. After all, sloppy is as sloppy does.” Wiens cannot stress enough that applicants who do not think writing is important are likely to think lots of other salient things also are not indispensable. #KyleWiensCEOofiFixitFounderofDozukiiFixitDozukiWriting SEARCH Ankita Malik: Empowering Change And Embracing Authenticity LIFESTYLE Juggling Two Worlds: The Inspiring Journey Of Kritika Goel LIFESTYLE Juggling Law And Fashion: The Inspirational Journey Of Riddhi Nahata, A Multifaceted Influencer LIFESTYLE Nikita Pawar: From Fashion Design To Digital Stardom LIFESTYLE Join Shruti Yogi On Her Enchanting Journey From Kumkum Bhagya To Wanderlust Saga LIFESTYLE POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Shriniwas Kodape Mood Indigo, IIT Bombay’s Iconic Celebration Of December 14 December 2025 LIFESTYLE By Shriniwas Kodape The Spa At The Urban Wellness Centre: Four Seasons Bangkok’s Sanctuary Where The Body Forgets The Noise 4 September 2025 LIFESTYLE By Anurag Sen Porsche Unveils The Next Generation 911 Cup: Precision, Power, And Purpose For 2026 24 August 2025 LIFESTYLE By Anurag Sen Mercedes AMG Petronas Keep The Momentum Rolling After A Podium Scoring Hungarian GP 21 August 2025 LIFESTYLE RELATED POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement
- Building Opportunities And Expanding Horizons: An Interview With Actor Or Writer Meghana Kaushik
Building Opportunities And Expanding Horizons: An Interview With Actor Or Writer Meghana Kaushik by Aadhya Venkatesh Building Opportunities And Expanding Horizons: An Interview With Actor Or Writer Meghana Kaushik 30 June 2022 COVER STORIES Advertisement Meghana Kaushik is a multitalented actress and writer who aspires to do great work in the entertainment industry. Wishing to leave her mark, she thrives on the competition she faces. Meghana identifies the kind of work that she needs to do to justify her talent. "As an artist, your goals are clear to you", she says. While speaking about recognizing opportunities, she said that one must always be prepared for the golden opportunity, ready to strike it with complete determination when it does occur. Stemming from the need to create such 'golden opportunities' for herself and others, she began writing for the screen. "As a writer, I can tell stories and narratives that I, as an actor, would like to act in". Meghana also believes that writing stories that she believes in will allow her to talk about subjects that need to be voiced. Meghana comes from theatre and has trained with Barry John as she always believes in improving her craft. Her foray into acting has been a learning curve. Belonging to a family with no connection to the industry, she had to learn everything about the process from scratch. The downside to this is that she has been dropped from many projects because she is not well-connected or comparatively well-known. She hopes that she can eventually work with creators that "cast actors based on their talent instead of social media follower count". Wishing to travel the world with her career, she wants to stand out in her field. She sees herself on the world stage, winning internationally acclaimed awards for her work while simultaneously creating a space of recognition for Indian talent. Currently, she is working on two feature films, one of which she is co-writing. Her inspiration in the field ranges from Madhubala, Waheeda Rehman, Sridevi and Alia Bhatt in the Indian film industry to icons such as Audrey Hepburn, Meryl Streep, Amy Adams, Natalie Portman, and Emily Blunt, amongst others. One of the easiest roles Meghana has played to date has been Nikita from Love, Lust, and Confusion. She believes that the character helped bring out her alter-ego, a person who was free-spirited, fashionable and non-judgmental about life and choices. Meghana strives to be a leader in a world full of followers. She urges those around her to remain positive in their lives and not let our differences and flaws bring us down. She propagates empowerment through acceptance of personal flaws with flair and grace. "Set yourself small goals to start with, and love yourself first" is the mantra she wishes to share. In a message to the youth, she pushes them to take charge and pave the way for the world to become a better place. She champions everyone to use their energies to protect fundamental human rights and promotes education for all. "We always need to be mindful and dream big. It is pertinent that we do not get caught up in mediocrity". All Meghana wants is for people to get over being lazy and take charge of their own lives, ultimately initiating a change that starts at the individual level. - Kate Middleton’s Story Has Only Gotten Worse With Time
Kate Middleton’s Story Has Only Gotten Worse With Time By Anushka Sharma Kate Middleton’s Story Has Only Gotten Worse With Time 18 March 2024 LIFESTYLE Advertisement Kate Middleton’s situation has gone from bad to worse. What started as a small worry among fans of the royal family has turned into a big deal worldwide. People are puzzled by her sudden disappearance from public view. Even though Kensington Palace said she had planned surgery and would be away until March, strange things have made folks wonder what’s really going on. This whole thing has sparked lots of talk and jokes on social media, especially TikTok and X. People have come up with wild theories and funny memes. Some folks have turned into detectives, trying to piece together where she might be and what’s happening. Others have joked that maybe she’s off getting a makeover or hiding because of a bad haircut. But as time passes by, the jokes are turning more serious and people have actually started showing a lot of concern over morphed images and the safety of Kate. People are questioning if the photos of Kate are even real. Some are worried and want answers, and rightly so. Even TV shows are making fun of the situation, adding to the confusion. Is it a good way to garner the attention or a bad means to fuel the wildfire? We can’t say. This whole saga has captured people’s interest because it’s like a real-life mystery. Even those who don’t usually care about the royals find themselves drawn into the drama. It’s like watching a TV show, but it’s happening for real. And when you throw in things like edited photos, it’s hard not to get caught up in it all. Shows like “The Crown” and scandals involving other royals, like Prince Harry and Meghan, have changed how people see the monarchy. Many now assume there’s always something shady going on behind the scenes. While some just enjoy the gossip, others are genuinely concerned about Kate’s well-being. A group on X called “where TF is Kate Middleton” has thousands of members trying to crack the case. They share videos and stories, trying to figure out what’s really going on. As the speculation grows, even big TV shows are getting in on the action. On a recent episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the host talked about the rumors surrounding Kate and her husband, Prince William. It’s like everyone feels a mix of worry for Kate but also a desire to know more. Despite calls for privacy and reasonable explanations, people can’t help but be interested in the royals. They may not have real power, but they still hold a special place in the public’s imagination. Without their public appearances, what would they even be known for? In the end, the fascination with Kate Middleton’s disappearance shows just how much people care about the royals, whether they admit it or not. It’s a reminder that even in today’s world, where kings and queens don’t rule, they still capture our attention like no one else.
