  • From Dream To Reality: The Rise Of Sameer Mark In The Fashion Industry

From Dream To Reality: The Rise Of Sameer Mark In The Fashion Industry By Anushka Sharma From Dream To Reality: The Rise Of Sameer Mark In The Fashion Industry 9 September 2024 COVER STORIES Advertisement In the ever-evolving world of fashion, few stories captivate the imagination as much as that of Sameer Mark , a visionary entrepreneur who transformed his humble dreams into a flourishing brand. Born in Bihar and raised in Mumbai, Sameer's journey is a testament to perseverance, creativity, and an unwavering belief in his own potential. Sameer's passion for fashion took root in 2014, during a time when his dreams far exceeded his financial means. Despite facing economic constraints, his innate sense of style and determination to succeed never wavered. "I had a good sense of dressing, but I couldn't afford the clothes I wanted. I would see people wearing certain outfits and think about how I would style them differently if given the chance," Sameer recalls. This passion and keen eye for fashion led him to explore modeling, but the road was not easy. Despite initial setbacks due to his height, Sameer persisted. He eventually landed a print shoot, but his mind was already set on something bigger—creating his own brand where he could fully express his vision and style. With limited funds and no formal design background, Sameer took matters into his own hands, designing the logo for his brand, Mask Styling, using simple tools like Pixart. Registered in 2014, Mask Styling was more than just a brand; it was the embodiment of Sameer’s dream. Mask Styling started as a small venture, but with Sameer's dedication, it evolved into a brand that now offers a wide range of products, including leather jackets, bags, shoes, and various grooming products. Catering to both men and women, Mask Styling has made its mark in the fashion industry with its unique approach and commitment to quality. However, the journey was not without challenges. Sameer's brand and website faced obstacles, including cyberattacks, which temporarily halted operations. Undeterred, he is in the process of launching a new website to continue serving his loyal customers. "It's going good," Sameer says, reflecting on the brand's growth, "but there were some problems with the website. We've stopped the old site and are working on a new one, which should be live in a few days." Beyond fashion, Sameer has also established himself in the digital marketing space, running an agency that stands out for its innovative approach, including the use of generative AI. His dual focus on business and digital marketing has allowed him to create a versatile and dynamic presence in both industries. Considered to be one of India's first male fashion influencer, Sameer has received numerous awards and accolades, further solidifying his status in the industry. His rise from a young man with a dream to a recognized figure in fashion is nothing short of inspiring. "There was a time when I didn't have money to buy clothes, but the sense was good," Sameer reflects. "Today, I've made a name for myself in the fashion industry." Sameer's story is one of resilience, creativity, and the belief that with hard work and passion, any dream can become a reality. His journey from a small-town boy with big dreams to a successful entrepreneur serves as an inspiration to many aspiring fashion enthusiasts and entrepreneurs alike. In the coming days, as Sameer continues to expand his brand and influence, there’s no doubt that his story will inspire many more to chase their dreams, no matter the odds! • Changes in Fashion

Changes in Fashion by Neha Pande Changes in Fashion 27 July 2020 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement In the start of the 90’s or before no one would have thought that black women or brown could be on the cover of a magazine like Vogue or a plus size woman would be a leading role model or on the cover of 100’s of billboard but in today’s world it is quite common to have a beautiful black lady gracing the cover of huge magazines or a plus size woman on the billboards of Times Square. When someone like Beverly Johnson, the first Black model to come out on the cover of Vogue in the 1970’s, made it, it was a big deal for everyone. When Ashley Graham, the first plus size model, came on the cover of Vogue in 2015, it took the industry by storm. From then till now the fashion industry has been evolving and changing for the better, it has started to be more inclusive of all, be it different races, sizes, genders or people with skin disorders. The barriers of Fashion have been changing since the humans learnt what Fashion is. In Greece and Rome, plus sized women were termed as goddesses in the 18th Century which later changed to slim and fit women termed as gorgeous. From the corseted waists and large ball gowns of the European Empire to the loose and free flowing bohemian fashion of the 1960’s, all were significant landmarks in the fashion Industry. The 1940’s was the era when World War II was at its peak, men were at the War Zone while women were at work. This era was the era of women wearing boxer pants with buttoned up shirts and padded shoulder blazers. This fashion statement was because women wanted to get into the working arena and they wore more male oriented clothes to show it. The 1950’s ended the world war with all men back into the workforce and women being oppressed back into housework. The fashion of the era was ultra-feminine with a lot of fit and flare which was the brainchild of Christian Dior who introduced fit and flare, slim shoulders unlike the 1940’s, narrow waist and full skirt which was inspired by the Victorian era. The 1960’s was a combined era of Hippie and Bohemian fashion with Spacy and futuristic fashion going neck to neck. The 1960’s was the start of the Northern Cali Hippie Movement with freedom to the extreme. This era had narcotics, drugs, alcohol and prostitution at its peak and it showed in their fashion with free-flowing dresses and bright colours. This era also gave birth to the famous singer and fashion icon Bob Marley. The 1970’s was the era of futuristic fashion which was due to NASA and its moon launch. This era introduced latex to the fashion industry and the fashion here was tight latex skirts or fitted bodycons with a futuristic vibe. It was also the era of Rock and Roll which gave birth to famous bands like Sex Pistols, The Ramous and the Clash and stars like Jimmy Hendrix. This era was also the Disco era which had vibrant and glittery colours contrasting to the Dark colours of the Rock and Roll. The 1980’s was the era of female empowerment and women getting into the workforce, the change in workforce demographics was huge as it showed the significant change and increase of women into various male dominated work fields. The working women of the era wore well fitted pants or pencil skirts with blazers and shirts. This era also gave birth to acid washed and ripped denim. The 1990’s was the era of sports wear like track pants, tank tops, platform sneakers and sporty tops which were rocked by famous people like Sporty Spice of the Spice Girls and Britney Spears. The 2000’s or our era is the era of amalgamation of all fashion from fit and flare of the 50’s to the funky fashion of the 70’s we have it all. We also are creating our own fashion like using matte colours in fashion with no makeup drives. Fashion is a reflection of society, it is not just merely looking pretty, it is much more than that. It is our history and our reflection as beings. From long leaves used as clothing by our early ancestors to the matte fashion of today it is all a part of our history and life. #FashionVogueWomenEraIndustrySkirtIcon SEARCH Why does Fashion Need Fashion Shows FASHION From Dreams To Crowns: Anuradha Garg’s Inspiring Mrs. India Story FASHION Colour Psychology in Fashion: Explained FASHION Legendary Female Icons Who Made Fashion Statements In The 20th Century FASHION The House of Chanel: History FASHION POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Shriniwas Kodape The Snake That Wore Red: Inside The Vision Cultured™ Revolution 19 October 2025 FASHION By Sakshi Shah Francesca Bellettini Ushers In Gucci’s New Dawn 19 September 2025 FASHION By Shriniwas Kodape Dibba Studio: Weaving The Future Of Fashion At Thailand Fashion Week AW25-26 2 September 2025 FASHION By Shriniwas Kodape Aksstagga: Threads That Whisper Love, Memory, And Eternity 21 August 2025 FASHION RELATED POSTS Advertisement

  • Valentine’s Gifting Made Easier With Nykaa Fragrance Range

By Aarti Singh By Aarti Singh Valentine’s Gifting Made Easier With Nykaa Fragrance Range 2 February 2025 BEAUTY Advertisement Advertisement Wouldn’t it be great if, just like Cupid’s arrow, your gifts also hit the bullseye? Although gift-giving might not be the only way to express your affection towards somebody, it surely is a huge aspect. And while affection can be showered through various other means, gifting adds on that extra sparkle. It is proof of how well you know the other person or simply how good of a listener you are. When it comes to Valentine’s Day, instead of flocking to the internet hurriedly to search “Gifts for Valentine’s Day”, simply take our advice and gift your partner something that tokenizes their essence to you. And nothing stands the test of time like a good old-fashioned fragrance that reminds you of that special someone. Whomsoever you might be, we have curated a list of fragrances that will automatically drive away all your gifting worries and put you and your partner in the mood for love. For Her You might be tempted to gift your female counterpart the same old bouquet of red roses and a Valentine’s Day card. We say do that! But pair it with any of these perfumes to match their true personality, and watch how that works in your favour. Burberry Goddess Just as the name suggests, this fragrance is perfect for the divine feminine who is ready to set the world ablaze every day. With top notes fused with Vanilla and Lavender, it is for the woman who knows herself in and out and is not afraid to show that. It is a seamless concoction of layers of vanilla goodness blended with woody tonalities and rich sweetness at the heart. It is a sensual fragrance that invokes a spirit of boldness within you. GUESS Seductive Noir It is a scent that embodies the oriental fragrance with playful hints. Top notes infused with bergamot, sage and peonies, this fragrance gives you a refreshing experience to evoke your inner edgy fashionista. It is an exquisitely quintessential scent for the woman who oozes confidence and embodies all the aspects of a dark feminine spirit. With heart notes of Iris Pallida, Jasmine Sambad and Muguet, this is the perfect gift for a woman who is slightly mature yet still flirty and playful. Victoria’s Secret Bombshell You can never go wrong with Victoria’s Secret. It is a sure-shot pathway of scoring instant royalty points with the woman you might be trying to woo, and Bombshell is one such fragrance that has never gone amiss. It is a fresh and brightening mixture of fruity florals on a sunny day picnic. It welcomes you with dominant notes of strawberries, pineapple and fresh citrus and hooks you to the hearty hints of Purple Passion Fruit, Shangri-La Peonies and Vanilla Orchids. It catches the essence of that woman who brightens up your day simply with her smile. This fragrance is perfect for a playful summer-spring symphony. NISARA Vanilla Rush Ambery With top notes of Orchid, White Floral and Vanilla, this fragrance lures you in with its cocoa-like scent and leaves you smelling like a bakery at the crack of dawn, basking in the effervescence of freshly baked goodness. It exudes a warmth that envelopes your senses in deft tones of caramel mocha richness. Its patchouli and amber undertones are perfect for someone who is in touch with her calm. Avon Little Black Dress This should be considered as killing two birds with one guaranteed stone since you can practically never go wrong with a classic LBD. With top notes of Ylang- Ylang, Milkwood, Honeysuckle, Apricot Blossom and Coriander, this fragrance is perfect for someone who owns their sensuality. A diverse blend of Gardenia, Jasmine, Datura and Tonka Beans makes this a perfect fit for that special someone who brings a classy, sophisticated vibe to the table. This fragrance is like that loyal LBD that never does you wrong. For Him If you are someone who is tired of their male partners using the same scent for ages or if you’re even just someone who has typed “Gift ideas for men on Valentine’s Day’, then a fragrance that compliments their personality might be an oldie but a goldie. Here are our top 5 suggestions in such a scenario: Davidoff Cool Water As cool, coral and aquatic as it sounds, this fragrance truly stands for its aquatic appeal, with top notes enveloping you in an ocean-like aura, especially for those who love the serenity of surfing the tides. The scent is like a bottled version of an entire oceanic ecosystem. With top notes consisting of Sea Moss, Lavender, Rosemary, Calone and Green nuances, it is a fit for someone who enjoys a life of thrill and refreshment with every whiff. Titan Skinn Raw Instinct This scent carefully blends citrusy freshness with bold hints of warm woodiness to bring forth a perfect semblance of a fragrance that swoops you away in the strong arms of the summer breeze. It brings forth a mix of spices and flora, fused with ambers that leave you with a fusion of robust notes; must for a man who is both soft & playful as the spring and ripe & mature as the summer. Base notes composed of Cardamom, Patchouli and Musk Melon preserve the essence of both the day and the night. Hugo Boss Energise A fragrance that combines Mint, Pink Pepper, Pineapple Leaf and Lemon for its top notes and makes it work wonderfully well together. It has Kumquat, Mandarin and Juniper forming its heart notes, giving it the proper distinctive palette. It is crafted for the spirit of masculinity that maintains calm and brings about a decisive mark. The undertones give off a balance of Leather, Vanilla and Teak Wood that adds to the richness of the entire concoction. Ora d’oro Perfume After Party As an ode to all those memorable and beautiful moments shared with your special someone, this scent bottles up all the nostalgia and chaos of some late-night shenanigans and presents it on a fragrant platter. It features top notes that are fresh, clean and sensual at the same time to reveal the essence of someone who determines their own story. The base is made from a fresh citrus accord, fused with ambery Cedar notes to give it a flawless blend. Ramson’s Once More It is an impeccable blend of Musk and Vanilla with affluent florals like Jasmine, Mimosa rose and Freesia that give it the pristine balance of soft masculinity. It is sweet and fruity with notes of Amber, Bergamot and Orange to serve you a leathery and woodsy feel. It creates a clashing palette that works wonderfully well in its favour. Now remember, gift-giving is a very intimate and vulnerable activity. It not only shows your affection but also the attention you hold towards the other person. • Thiptara At The Peninsula Bangkok: Thai Soul By The River

By Shriniwas Kodape Thiptara At The Peninsula Bangkok: Thai Soul By The River 28 July 2025 FOOD Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement The river had secrets that night. It moved like a living thing—dark, slow, full of stories older than the skyline across it. A longtail boat parted the water gently as it brought me across, the city flickering behind like a dream I hadn’t quite finished. The Peninsula glowed on the far side, all grace and restraint, but I wasn’t headed for its marble hallways. I was following the scent of lemongrass through a garden lit by flame. Thiptara didn’t shout. It waited. You walked a stone path beneath banyan trees that might’ve been here when Ayutthaya was still a capital. The hum of insects, the low sound of the water hitting wood, and then—just past a carved gate—a table set in a private sala, the Chao Phraya unfolding just beyond your reach. It felt like entering someone’s home. Not just any home, but one that remembered you. A woman in a dark green silk blouse greeted me with the kind of smile that made you feel like you’d made a good decision. No script, no fanfare. Just water poured into a crystal glass and a small plate of fresh betel leaves, folded like an offering, filled with slivers of dried shrimp, peanuts, lime. Sweet. Salty. Sharp. Like the first sentence that dares you to keep reading. The sky burned low over the river. Gold turned to indigo. Lanterns blinked to life in the trees. And then the food began to arrive—not rushed, not arranged for effect, but paced like a conversation. A warm pomelo salad, tossed tableside. The prawns are still warm from the grill, the chili heat gentle but steady. The kind of dish that makes you pause and reach for a cold Singha, just to let your tongue catch up. The menu read like a travelogue. Grilled river prawns in red curry. A smoky eggplant dip, laced with minced pork and coriander. Chicken wrapped in pandan leaves—tender, scented like some memory you couldn’t place. There was a tom yum, too. Not the kind you see in neon-lit tourist spots, but the real thing. The broth was so clear it shimmered. Galangal and lime leaf in harmony. Chili enough to wake you, but not offend you. It reminded me of something my grandmother once said: “The best food speaks in low tones. You lean in to listen.” There was nothing showy about Thiptara. No foam, no dry ice, no fusion masquerading as innovation. Just technique and memory. Tradition without apology. It was food cooked by hands that understood time—how long to steep the broth, how to slice mango just ripe enough for the sticky rice finale. And when the coconut cream hit that still-warm rice, I swear, the air went still for a moment. The river kept talking. A barge groaned upstream. Somewhere behind me, the Peninsula’s jazz trio had started to play, faint but soulful. A breeze came off the water, carrying night with it. No one rushed me. No waiter hovered. My empty plates vanished the way old troubles sometimes do—quietly, respectfully. I stayed long past the point I needed to, because Thiptara didn’t ask me to leave. It asked me to feel something. You don’t write reviews about a place like this. You write letters. Or elegies. Or short stories that begin with a boat crossing the river and end with a plate of mango and sticky rice under a sky full of stars. Thiptara is the kind of place you carry with you. Not just because the food was unforgettable—but because, for one night, you were reminded of what hospitality can be when it isn’t trying to sell you anything. Not a meal. A memory. Not a restaurant. A return. And if Bangkok ever feels too loud, too fast, too much—remember this: the river still waits. And so does Thiptara. • Reflecting on Our World’s Billionaires Despite Corona

SOCIETY By Aparajita Jaiswal Reflecting on Our World’s Billionaires Despite Corona 27 July 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement The coronavirus has hit the global economy hard and that includes even the richest people in the world. Forbes recently published its annual list of billionaires and found that the number of billionaires has dropped significantly because of the pandemic. Even among those still on the list, more than half saw their wealth decrease since the pandemic. There were 2,095 billionaires on the list when it was finalized on March 18, according to the business website. That was 58 fewer billionaires than last year and 226 fewer than at the beginning of the month, Forbes reported. Of course, with the markets in flux because of the coronavirus, each billionaire’s net worth also fluctuates depending on the day. Despite this, Jeff Bezos, 56, still stands to be the richest man in the world, despite transferring a quarter of his Amazon stake to his ex-wife MacKenzie last summer, according to Forbes. He was worth $113 billion on March 18. Coronavirus has led Jeff Bezos to donate $100M to feed hungry Americans. Bezos’ gift was the largest single donation Feeding America has ever received. “Today, I want to support those on the front lines at our nation’s food banks and those who are relying on them for food with a $100 million gift to @FeedingAmerica,” Bezos wrote on Instagram. Despite the plight of the world and the ongoing economic effect of the coronavirus crisis, billionaires in the U.S. have seen their wealth increase by over $406 billion in the past month. Other billionaires who have seen their wealth grow amid the pandemic include Tesla CEO Elon Musk — also by nearly $10 billion since January 1. In that time, Zoom founder Eric Yuan has added $3.5 billion to his net worth at $7.4 billion, thanks to the popularity of his video conferencing software in lockdown. Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has added more than $4 billion to his fortune. #JeffBezosBezosCoronavirusInstagramTeslaTeslaCEOElonMuskElonMuskMacKenzieZoomfounderEricYuanFormerMicrosoftCEOSteveBallmerBillionForbesPandemicWealthBillionaireFeedingAmerica SEARCH Why India is the most depressed country in the world? • Not a beach body, but a fit body

Not a beach body, but a fit body by Raunak Singh Hooda Not a beach body, but a fit body 1 June 2021 LIFESTYLE Advertisement “A sound body keeps a sound mind.” We hear this saying so often around us, this is what our parents, school teachers, and elders tell us when they need to emphasize the importance of exercise in our lives. So let’s try to understand what this means. In today’s fast-paced world, where productivity and profit are given the highest priority, and general well-being takes a backseat in light of extreme capitalism, it is imperative that people become more aware of how their body functions, and why it is necessary to keep it fit. The first and foremost cause of physical deterioration of the body lies in the mental state of a person. With many social media platforms growing increasingly toxic, a large number of people today are facing mental health issues that are deep-rooted, and these are primarily hurting the physical well-being of these people. Exercise has been found to be one of the major protectors of a person’s mental well-being. Exercise improves mental health by reducing anxiety, depression, and negative mood, and by improving self-esteem and cognitive function. Exercise has also been found to alleviate symptoms such as low self-esteem and social withdrawal. Lack of exercise also has a cause-effect relationship with obesity. A lack of proper exercise causes it, and a lack of proper exercise is also induced by it. In 2019, an estimated 38.2 million children under the age of five were found to be suffering from obesity. Why it is a problem is because raised BMI is a major risk factor for noncommunicable diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, musculoskeletal disorders(especially osteoarthritis), and even some forms of cancer. Regular physical exercise increases people’s energy expenditure, which can help them stay in energy balance, and even lose weight, as long as they don’t overcompensate for the number of calories burned during the exercise period. Physical exercise also decreases the fat around the waist and total body fat, hence slowing down the advancement of abdominal obesity. Exercise also helps to lower the blood cholesterol levels, hence lowering chances of a heart attack. Physical exercise is also recommended by doctors due to the fact, that it influences the person and the body to form a habit. If a person decides to start exercising, it will naturally boost good hormones such as serotonin, which leaves them feeling better, and that leads to the mind automatically convincing the rest of the body to make a habit out of it, so that boosts in mood and energy can be experienced more often. Hence, fitness and exercise can really improve the quality of life of an individual, and following such a lifestyle may just be the deciding factor for a healthier and longer life.
