  • Dubai Fashion Week Day 2 - Fashion, Storytelling And Everything In Between

Dubai Fashion Week Day 2 - Fashion, Storytelling And Everything In Between By Aarti Singh Dubai Fashion Week Day 2 - Fashion, Storytelling And Everything In Between 14 February 2025 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Fashion is and has always been about so much more than mere clothes- it is about expression, storytelling, statements, romance and beyond. And it would only make sense when the biggest fashion affairs channelise this. When immaculate craftsmanship is paired with depth and meaning, that is what goes down in the book of posterity, and you and I are the witnesses! The Dubai Fashion Week Autumn/ Winter 25-26 commenced with a glamorous gravitas, and the glitz and glam only grew further. On February 3rd, 2025, Dubai Fashion Week brought together the newer and emerging designers and the internationally known and acclaimed designers to share the same stage. Or ramp, in this case, setting a tone of global togetherness. NIF Global Launches The Day With A Sustainable Initiative Along with the divine and poetic displays by Paolo Sebastian , Weinsanto and Aintoinne Kareh , there was a hint of modernity served by a collaborative effort between the New York Institute of Fashion and the London School of Trends. This modernity, combined with thoughtfulness and awareness, paved the way for their showcase titled “Launchpad”. The showcase stood witness to young NIF Global designers representing India’s diverse cultural landscapes. The partnership was an array of innovative collections that presented a wonderful seamless fusion of luxury and sustainability. It was led by a 40-piece collection that redefined heritage craftsmanship like handwoven textiles and exquisite embroidery accompanied by more modern silhouettes for a more global audience. It was a play on sustainability by indulging eco-friendly fabrics with intricate craftsmanship and trend-forward designs. Paolo Sebastian Puts Australia On The Mark Hosting its first Australian designer ever, Dubai Fashion Week welcomed Paolo Sebastian with a showcase of a scenic blend between romance and contemporary elegance, paired with dreamy silhouettes, ethereal illusion tulle and fairytale-inspired designs that left the spectators in awe. It beautifully presented the essence of the designer’s signature style as it was a mirror to the flawless blend of tradition and modern innovation, transporting everyone in the audience to a world of fantasy. Weinsanto Brings Parisian Romance To Dubai Runway Bringing the French Parisian charm to the stage, DFW member Victor Weinsanto enraptured the spectators with his “Cauchemar in the Kitchen” collection, integrating the Georges kitchen theme into his designs. Weinsanto blended his signature style with modern Parisian suaveness. He drew inspiration from the venerated motifs of the world-famous Maxim restaurant, the collection showcased his jubilant print, a refined colour palette, with convoluted Nouveau-inspired embroidery. The entire showcase was a direct portrayal of the designer’s craft and creativity, mingled with art and storytelling. Antoinne Kareh Executes Visual Poetry “The Guardian Shadow” by Antoinne Kareh combined fashion with poetry to deliver an artfully explored showcase based on the interplay between light and darkness. The designer drew inspiration from the conceptuality of how shadow accompanies every individual and watches over them like Guardian Angels. The showcase depicted how shadows are pivotal for defining form, depth and dimensions. Kareh brought a sense of altruistic realism and vivacity to the pieces by adding fluid, flowy silhouettes and contrasts throughout the pieces. Velvety Couture’s Homage To Zaha Hadid’s Legacy The day was concluded with Velvety Couture ’s collection, which was inspired by Zaha Hadid’s Heydar Aliyev Center. The showcase aimed to unveil the blend between architecture and fashion, translating fluid curves with dynamic designs. The abundance of elegance can be seen with fabrics like chiffon, taffeta and velvet in white, black, grey and silver palettes to give it that richness and depth. All the designers presented an amalgamation of fashion with romance, poetry and depth- which is also what we are mostly made of. That is exactly why fairytales appeal to us: we look for romance, and what better place to find it than in the very expression of self? The second day came to an exuberant finish, but the showcase of fashion is anything but halted because with lineups like such, all one does is wait for the next day! • Therapy motivation

SOCIETY by Anadi Gupta Therapy motivation 1 November 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Causes of depression are still being discovered, some people get this disease due to difficult conditions of life, and some without any solid reason. Still no solid physical test is available to detect depression. When you care about someone, it is very difficult to see them struggling with their mental state. And even more so when you know that they can be helped professionally. It can be very difficult to visit someone and encourage them for therapy or professional help. Misconceptions about mental health have intensified stigma in society. Even today, depression and mental illnesses are not taken seriously in our society. It is important for us to understand that this is also a type of disease that can happen to people and they need to be treated. That is why we should always talk with patience and love to people suffering from it, so that they do not feel like a burden. We should assure them that we are with them and we will help them to get out of it. Still a lot of people don’t feel comfortable to talk openly about depression. Many famous people, who are very successful in their area, become victims of depression because people usually have very high expectations from them and they feel under pressure to fulfil them. But some celebrities have came forward and talk about it and encouraged others, which is a very good step for the society. It can be hard to share personal feelings with parents, especially if you haven’t done it in a while. This can be difficult to share when you are not really sure what is going on. Sometimes parents can provide a new angle that helps you understand things. Just talking about it can help you see things from a different perspective. If depression is severe or persists, you may still need to talk to a therapist after having a good conversation with your parents. Tell your mom or dad if you continue to feel depressed. Your mother or father can make an appointment for you and support you while working with a therapist. Telling your parents about depression can be very emotionally difficult for you. You may cry, or your parents may cry. This is completely fine. Depression is a difficult subject, and you are doing the right thing by addressing it now before it gets worse. Chances are, your parents have already noticed that something is wrong. They just don’t know what it is or how to help. By naming the problem, you will help them feel better and learn how to take action. You have to choose a time when neither you nor your parents are distracted. It should be a quiet time when you can talk one-on-one, or with both of them alone. Long car rides, quiet evenings, working together, and long walks are all good subjects. If your parents are busy, ask when is a good time. Say something like “I really have something important to talk to you about. What would be a good time for us to have a private conversation?” Sometimes, parents make the mistake of not taking their children seriously about depression. Opening up about depression can be challenging, but you will definitely feel better if you try to share your feelings. Get the courage to talk to your parents about what depression is, especially when you are feeling particularly low. Talk therapy is not just “talking about your problems” It is also working towards solutions. Some therapy may include homework, such as tracking your moods, writing about your thoughts, or participating in social activities that have been a cause for concern in the past. You may be encouraged to look at things in a different way or learn new ways to react to events or people. Most of today’s therapy is brief and focuses on your current thoughts, feelings and life issues. Focusing on the past can help explain things in your life, but focusing on the present can help you face the present and prepare for the future. You may see your physician or counselor more often when you first start working with them, and later, as you progress toward your goals, you have fewer appointments. It’s just that, Never be afraid in asking for help whenever it is needed. #mentalhealthmatters #depression #Therapy #Anxiety #mentalhealthawareness SEARCH Why India is the most depressed country in the world? • Embracing Darkness, Celebrating Light: Amjad Khalil’s Beyond Black Couture Collection

Embracing Darkness, Celebrating Light: Amjad Khalil’s Beyond Black Couture Collection By Anushka Sharma Embracing Darkness, Celebrating Light: Amjad Khalil’s Beyond Black Couture Collection 4 September 2024 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement In the heart of Tripoli, where the Mediterranean waves kiss the Libyan shores, a powerful narrative unfolds. Amjad Khalil , the visionary designer behind the AK brand, is set to unveil his sixth couture collection, “Beyond Black”—a collection that’s not just clothing, but a poignant reflection of personal loss, transformation, and the indomitable spirit of resilience. This Fall/Winter 2024 collection isn't just about fashion; it’s a narrative woven with threads of sorrow, strength, and rebirth. After losing both of his parents to cancer in 2022, Amjad found himself plunged into the depths of grief, a place where creativity felt distant and passion seemed lost. Yet, from this darkness, he embarked on a deeply personal journey—a journey that would reignite his spark and give birth to “Beyond Black.” The collection is a tribute to the emotional rollercoaster that many experience after the loss of a loved one. Each piece tells a chapter of this journey—from the overwhelming darkness to the gradual return of light. The 15 couture dresses and one bridal gown in this collection are more than garments; they are stories, each echoing a mood, a memory, or a moment from Amjad’s own life. From Shadows to Stardust: A Saga of Colors and Textures Amjad’s color palette is nothing short of a visual metaphor. He begins with deep, somber hues—blacks and dark metallics—accented by crystal teardrops that symbolize the profound sadness he felt. These initial pieces capture the raw, unfiltered emotions of grief. But as the collection progresses, so too does the color story, transitioning from the shadows of black to the shimmer of metallic gold, silver, and maroon, and finally to the soft pastels and luminous whites. The crescendo is a breathtaking bridal gown, representing the peace and light found at the end of the tunnel—a symbol of hope and new beginnings. The Art of Craftsmanship: Patterns and Fabrics that Speak Volumes Amjad’s approach to pattern-making and fabric selection further enriches the narrative. His use of curves and sharp cuts speaks to the inner conflict many feel after a significant loss, while the integration of new corset techniques symbolizes the strength that comes from within. Velvet, silk chiffon, organza, lace, and metallic fabrics are the canvas on which he paints his story. The richness of velvet conveys a sense of luxury and depth, while the delicate transparency of organza reveals vulnerability. Lace adds a touch of strength intertwined with elegance, and metallic fabrics inject a dash of boldness. The inclusion of stones and intricate embroidery, especially with Swarovski crystals, adds a final, sparkling touch—like teardrops that glisten in the light. A Collection with a Message: From the Heart to the World At Large Amjad Khalil doesn’t just want you to wear these clothes; he wants you to feel them. The “Beyond Black” collection is for every woman who has faced heartbreak, loss, or any dark period in her life. It’s a reminder that through creativity and self-expression, we can all find our way back to the light. This is more than just a fashion show—it’s an experience, a journey through the stages of grief and healing. Amjad invites you to join him on this journey at the grand launch event in Dubai on September 1st, 2024, during Dubai Fashion Week . Step into the darkness, emerge into the light, and discover the “Beyond Black” collection—a celebration of life, love, and the resilience of the human spirit. • The Rise Of Repetition: Why Everyday Style Has Become The New Fashion Language

The Rise Of Repetition: Why Everyday Style Has Become The New Fashion Language By Sakshi Shah The Rise Of Repetition: Why Everyday Style Has Become The New Fashion Language 6 February 2026 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Fashion today no longer thrives on spectacle alone. The drama of statement dressing — once defined by exaggerated silhouettes, bold trends, and constant novelty — has softened into something quieter, more deliberate. Across cities like Mumbai, personal style is increasingly shaped not by what is new, but by what is returned to. Repetition, once dismissed as uninspired, has become a language of confidence. This shift mirrors the way people live now. Days move quickly, identities overlap, and wardrobes are expected to keep pace without constant reinvention. Clothing is no longer worn for singular moments; it must travel through meetings, errands, dinners, and long commutes without losing relevance. Style, in this context, becomes less about performance and more about continuity. At the centre of this movement is a redefinition of what it means to dress well. A crisp white shirt appears again and again — worn loose over tailored trousers one day, buttoned cleanly with denim the next, sometimes half-tucked, sometimes layered under a sleeveless dress. Its appeal lies not in transformation, but in reliability. The same logic applies to wide-leg trousers paired with soft knits, neutral co-ords offset by a single statement accessory, or dresses styled flat-footed rather than dressed up. These are not trends; they are habits shaped by lived experience. Mumbai’s streets offer a particularly clear lens into this evolution. The city demands clothing that adapts to movement, weather, and pace, making repetition not a limitation but a strategy. Linen dresses extend well beyond summer, styled with closed shoes and light layers. Blazers are thrown over tank tops without ceremony. Gold jewellery becomes the only deliberate excess. The result is a look that feels effortless but considered — assembled for real life, not for display. This way of dressing reflects a broader cultural recalibration. In an era saturated with images and accelerated trend cycles, repetition offers grounding. Wearing familiar silhouettes becomes a form of authorship, a way of asserting taste without chasing validation. The repetition is quiet, but it is assured. It signals clarity rather than conformity. Importantly, repetition today does not imply stagnation. It suggests discernment. The same pair of jeans worn week after week shifts identity through context — styled with a structured jacket one day, a simple tank and flats the next. A trusted dress becomes a canvas rather than a statement, altered subtly through footwear, jewellery, or proportion. Style evolves not through replacement, but through refinement. India’s interpretation of this shift carries its own nuance. Climate, commuting culture, and the fluid overlap between professional and personal spaces demand wardrobes that are resilient and thoughtful. The repetition visible across Indian cities reflects a move toward sustainability that is not only environmental, but emotional. Clothes are no longer disposable expressions; they are companions to daily life, worn, reworked, and revisited with intention. What emerges from this shift is a new understanding of luxury. Luxury here is not defined by excess or accumulation, but by clarity. It is the confidence to rewear, to restyle, and to trust personal rhythm over trend cycles. A well-cut blazer, a familiar silhouette, a restrained palette these become markers of ease rather than predictability. The richness lies in knowing what works and returning to it without apology. As fashion continues to evolve, repetition reveals itself not as the absence of creativity, but as its maturation. The most compelling wardrobes today are not built on constant change, but on consistency. In choosing familiarity over frenzy, everyday style has established a new authority — one that feels grounded, intentional, and unmistakably current. • Anuj Gosalia Talks About Creating Terribly Tiny Tales

Anuj Gosalia Talks About Creating Terribly Tiny Tales by Aparajita Jaiswal Anuj Gosalia Talks About Creating Terribly Tiny Tales 31 August 2020 Advertisement In a freewheel chat with Aparajita Jaiswal, Anuj Gosalia shares the story of creating, Terribly Tiny Tales, a globally celebrated platform with the worlds finest micro- fiction writers and how they reached their current stature. In this age of dwindling attention spans, their brand specialty is brevity, catching more people’s attention. With stories under 2000 characters, they are quick to read, accessible to more individuals and very hard to forget. Theirs is a global micro-fiction platform created by the brilliant mind of Anuj Gosalia. Terribly Tiny Tales is a special brand for the finest micro-fiction writers and reaching over 20 million people every week. Their stories advance and reach newer heights, influencing and touching more souls every day. They have opened us up to a whole new world full of stories. There’s a story for every reader, every emotion, serving fresh, daily. Back in 2012, Anuj realized that nobody engaged in blogs as much as they did in social media. “Over time as readership fell, I thought of what more can a writer do other than write books and blogs, where is the place for expression and if people are even interested in reading anymore. These were my questions. I recognized that people’s attention span reduced drastically. The more engaged writings were shorter, snappier and easier to consume and this led to the birth of Terribly Tiny Tales or more commonly known as TTT. I realized that the reason why people were not reading was not only because of social media but also because these platforms allow for a different kind of content to exist,” Anuj explains. “We started writing content that was shorter than 140 characters which was very new especially on Facebook and Instagram.” Although now a lot of pages are doing it, back in 2012 it was a new and unique concept brought to life by Terribly Tiny Tales. A typical day at terribly tiny tales starts with requiring all teams, the product team, content team, design team, trying to work at new angles to give its audience newer and fresh content. Their versatility reaches new heights every day as they take on interesting and unique projects. “What else can we do? I think that’s the big question. How can we build a larger brand of TTT,” says Anuj. Their primary focus being that they connect more and more with their audience, Anuj says, “we want to build something that people do not forget in a day or a week but remme…” Currently TTT is doing a project with Cadbury Dairy Milk which is a very recent addition to their work. They have collaborated to create films with Cadbury. So far they have three episodes out on their YouTube channel. TTT also has an app that’s a very engaged community. “We want to make that bigger so that is one of my key focus areas,” says Anuj. Every platform takes time to build and monetize, communities are built slowly and so did TTT. In 2015 TTT essentially had enough followers to be called a community. “We approached brands and told them we have 300 thousand people who love stories so can we tell your stories through TTT? That’s when we decided to put all our eggs in one basket and we started and expand from there.” TTT is not only on Instagram but also Facebook and twitter. They also have their very own YouTube channel and an app that engages over 20 million people in a week! The app lets people write stories and publish their work on their own. It is now TTT’s very own twitter! People can also publish their books on the app. It is nothing like you have seen before. It is dedicated to creators and readers. “The aim for the future is to tell more emotional stories. What we sometimes lose out on in bite sized fiction is that some stories deserve time and attention. We want to tell more stories that are deeper, more immersive and interactive. The future is where the story and you are very intimately connected.” Every child grows up reading Enid Blyton and few special books that inspire the paths we live and breathe. “I loved Enid Blyton like most children. I grew up reading Enid blyton books. The Famous five was of course my favorite,” the founder exclaimed. “I loved Agatha Christie and her characters. I was especially drawn to the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy. It is such a funny and amazing book. Took me a while to read Arundhati Roy but it was an incredible read. The God of Small Things is such an amazing book and as it was my first it makes it a little more special. I have grown to love Sally Rooney’s writing. These writers continue to remain my favorite.” “Empty summer afternoons during my childhood were my portal into the world of books. when you read vigorously at that age you also start to imagine worlds. Just like any other child, I too started imagining my own worlds. My interest in writing woke when I was in 5th or 6th grade but I took writing a little more seriously when I was in college. Although I liked writing it was still not full time as I did not study writing. I did not want to pursue writing at that point but I really started enjoying and loving writing in college. I did not imagine building career in writing but I liked the fact that I could think better with writing.” We all want to bring change into the world and make a difference. We all want to chase our dreams. Anuj Gosalia dreamed of moving people with his work and his company. “I want to passionately tell stories that outlive most other stories and people. I want to enable such beautiful, memorable and meaningful writing that really moves people. There are so many things happening that we rarely pause and admire something meaningful that really moved us. Very few things make you get out of your moment and reflect something rare that you experienced and go back to think about it.” No one remembers consuming a meme after a week. There is a time and a context to a meme after which it loses meaning but some works of art and writing live with us forever. My passion is that TTT becomes a platform that allows this timeless memorable expression.” “One thing I would change about the writing world is people thinking writing is easy. Typing out a few sentences does not make everyone a writer.” The meaning of the word Success is different for all of us. Anuj believes that success should mean we are having fun with what we do and not worry about Monday mornings. “What is also important to me is how many people are moved by the stories we tell.” TTT has had such an impact on readers worldwide; children, college students and adults alike. They do such an amazing job of affecting our mornings with a new story that puts our lives into a whole new perspective. “We hope that our stories come from a good place and are doing good to people,” Anuj says. Determining a good piece of writing always is somewhat relatable and moves people. “We had a metric called relatability graph and surprise and now I have an intuition around what is good piece of writing for our platform” A lot Classic literature and supposed all time favorite literature is not very accessible to the laymen. Not every book needs to live up to the complexity and benchmark set up by these books to be recognized as a good read per most millennial writers. Anuj Gosalia has a very similar point of view on this subject. “I definitely value craft but do the stories have to be complex and does the writing have to be complicated? You appreciate writing when you know enough time and attention has been spent to the craft and detail by the creator.” The writer and founder talks about what his other fancies he likes to indulge in apart from work. “I love working out. Very recently post lockdown I was introduced to cooking. The little time I spent cooking, I have really grown to enjoy it. I think these two things give me a break from work.” “What I would tell the younger minds is that keep writing. There is no shortcut as I am learning it the hard way too. It’s like a muscle; the lesser you use it, the rustier it gets. There is no substitute in the work of writing. You might get great ideas but how you turn those ideas transform on paper is important.” #TaraTaraKhandelwalBooksBooksandbeyondBoundWritersReadersAuthorsLiterary #tttpublishing #Founder #TTT #150characters #tttpassion #Life #Instagram #Coverstory #Writing #AnujGosalia SEARCH A Journey Shaped By Courage, Creativity, And Social Media With Aditi Sharma COVER STORIES Inner Joy Trails My Inspiration : A Candid Conversation With The Creative Anushka Kaushik COVER STORIES Barkha Singh’s candid candour makes the way to an eye-catching interview COVER STORIES Educate, Empower, Excel: Priyanka Chahar Choudhary's Inspirational Overture COVER STORIES Waluscha De Sousa On Being Her ‘True Self’ And Going On The Dream Journey COVER STORIES POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Sakshi Shah The Many Chapters Of Lekha Prajapati, From Performer To Storyteller 6 July 2026 COVER STORIES By Sakshi Shah Across Languages, One Voice: Sheena Chohan 1 April 2026 COVER STORIES By Sakshi Shah Mananveer Singh On Making Music That Feels Natural And Real 24 March 2026 COVER STORIES By Sakshi Shah Falak Khan On Acting, Identity, And Letting Her Work Speak For Itself 9 March 2026 COVER STORIES RELATED POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement

  • Famous Awe-Inspiring Castles That Need To Be On Your Next Travel List

by Saumya Mishra TRAVEL Famous Awe-Inspiring Castles That Need To Be On Your Next Travel List by Saumya Mishra 25 February 2023 Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Baker Mayfield once quoted, "You don't build a great castle just all at once." Castles are fortified buildings built by the royals in the medieval era, for defense purposes and to protect the people living in them from invasions. The era of castles started about 1000 years ago and lasted for almost 500 years. The lavish architectural designs and extravagant luxurious interiors of the castles often were to display the wealth and power of the nobility. Almost every castle in the world has been said to hold history and secrets of its own, which many historians and archeologists are still trying to unravel. Regardless of their stories behind the walls, castles make great historical monuments. These establishments have a mysterious aura and magic of their own and have been attracting the eyes of tourists for a century, which has seen a gradual increase in recent years. Modern people are hugely interested and invested in learning about the history, art, and triumph of the people who once inhabited these places. Not only castles are intriguing but overall look like a place out of fairytales. Here we have listed some magnificent Castles that you need to include in your next travel plan and give yourself a magical fairytale vacation. 1. Tower Of London, England Situated on the north bank of the River Thames in central London, the notorious Tower of London is known to be one of the most famous castles in England. Built in the 1070s, under the supervision of King William the Conquerer the Tower of London with its central white tower was built as a demonstration of Norman power, and to impose fear and submission into the heart of citizens of London. The castle brags about a bone-chilling history of oppression, cruelty, and death. The castle is also said to be used as a prison from 1000 to 1952. People guilty of crimes, real or not, we're brutally tortured and executed. The castle also shares a gruesome past of suspicious murders and executions. Many secrets and stories still revolve around the castle and especially around the torture chamber in it. The Tower of London is a wealth of history and stories. People can see crown jewels, enjoy the display of armor and weapons, feel the mystery to their bones, or witness the daily ceremony of keys done by Yeomen warders. It's England's most popular tourist attraction, and witnesses about 2 Million visits each year. The Tower of London is a honeycomb of experiences only if it's given enough time to be observed and experienced. 2. Eltz Castle, Germany Located in Rheinland-Palatine, known as the Moselle wine region famous for Riesling wine, Eltz Castle is a medieval castle nestled at the bottom of a heavily forested valley and surrounded by picturesque hills. Named a 'skyscraper' among castles this establishment is several stories tall and inhabits a small courtyard. Eltz tower has gradually become the most photographed Castle on social media sites, especially Instagram. • Thirteenth - Century Angkor Was Home To More People Than Modern Boston

by Priti Sharma TRAVEL Thirteenth - Century Angkor Was Home To More People Than Modern Boston by Priti Sharma 18 February 2023 Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement The Southeast Asian city of Angkor, famous for the Angkor Wat temple, had between 700,000 and 900,000 residents in the 13th century. With this number, Angkor becomes one of the biggest cities before the modern era. It's also comparable in size to many modern cities; Boston, for example, had around 693,000 residents in 2019. The city’s remains, currently in northwest Cambodia, are well-known for their stone temples, structures, and infrastructure. With the use of scanning technology, archaeologists could spot the remains of buildings made of wood and less resilient materials outside Angkor's "downtown" region. They have vanished without a trace since the majority of their structures were built of wood, thatch, and bamboo. The remnants of Yasodharapura's walls, reservoirs, roadways, and, most importantly, its religious structures—which were constructed of stone and laterite to worship the Buddha or a pantheon of Indian gods—are how we learned about this city that was abandoned in the sixteenth century. When Angkor Wat was first constructed, Suryavarman II was a strong ruler who used it as both a mausoleum and a monument. Over a square mile is devoted to the Vishnu shrine. The Ramayana, an Indian epic, as well as incidents from Suryavarman's life are shown in the base relief's exquisite carving. They also display the god of the underworld, Yama, sending people to heaven or to hell. A sophisticated culture, "Angkor" had its rulers at the top of the social hierarchy. The majority of those who constructed the temples and produced sustenance for the aristocracy were rice farmers, and they employed methods that have largely remained unchanged to the current day. The Khmer people were skilled carpenters and gifted stone and wood carvers. Impressive reservoirs and razor-sharp roadways connecting Cambodian cities were built by Khmer engineers, and many of the temples still bear intricate inscriptions that were written by Khmer poets. Warriors from Cambodia assaulted nearby kingdoms and guarded Yasodharapura against invasion. Many of these "ordinary" contributions are overlooked when we visit the temples or see the ethereal traditional dance of Cambodia. After Jayavarman's demise, Yasodharapura continued to be a magnificent and rich city for at least two hundred years. Following a Thai army assault in 1431, it was mostly abandoned. Soon after, the center of government in Cambodia moved to the south. A Cambodian monarch visited the old city in the 1500s, repaired a few temples, and presumably spent some time living in Yasodharapura. Angkor Wat was often visited by pilgrims, and a Buddhist monastery stood next to the temple for many years. However, Yasodharapura was abandoned by the outside world, and the jungle gradually took it over. The amazingly creative and engineering prowess that the ruins show makes up for its "heritage." In addition to the open-minded, resourceful, and tough people who struggle to make ends meet in their impoverished, congested country while keeping testimony to their magnificent heritage, these abilities are on display today in Cambodian classical dance. A tropical metropolis, Angkor endured centuries of political and climatic unpredictability. Urban planners may be able to better grasp some of the limitations that an increasing number of the world's cities confront by tracking the phenomenon's development and tipping point. • Barkha Singh’s candid candour makes the way to an eye-catching interview

Barkha Singh’s candid candour makes the way to an eye-catching interview by Aparajita Jaiswal Barkha Singh’s candid candour makes the way to an eye-catching interview 6 April 2022 COVER STORIES Advertisement Barkha Singh , an actor, and content creator, digs up some fewer known facts and details about her journey with interviewer Kavya Gupta. The conversation gets more exciting as Barkha discusses her YouTube Channel, her growth as an actor and a content creator, her experience shooting with Sushmita Sen and much more! Barkha Singh started her career in acting in 2015 in an MTV show. She claims that her Instagram and YouTube Content Creation were “by-products” of her acting experience. “Because of the MTV show, my Instagram handle suddenly started, skyrocketing. I was growing 20k-30k every day on Instagram. Before this, I didn’t even know content creation is a “scene” and people can do all this. I think very few people like Ashish in India had started it. Adding to this, Barkha gives us details about her inspiration to start her YouTube channel, “Because my followers started growing, the people managing me at that time, they made me realise like that since I travel so much and anyways shooting travel content, I can just upload it in one place on the YouTube channel and I was very much against starting a YouTube channel thinking I won’t be able do all of it (auditions, shooting, Instagram and YouTube and they were like, shut up and do it. As I started uploading more and more content, many tourists and boards of different countries started reaching out to me to create content on my YouTube channel. After that, I got great views you know so that’s when I decided this was the best way to make my love for travel sustainable.” When asked what she looks for in a new project before signing yes to it, Barkha reveals that other than the standard considerations regarding production and platform, the storyline and character offered to her plays an extremely important role. Barkha has had the opportunity to work alongside Sushmita Sen and claims and claims she had a wonderful experience. While contributing to wildlife and nature are some of her alternate interests, Barkha digs deeper by expressing the challenges one faces in the show industry. “I think, at least for me the most challenging part is showing restraint. A lot of people say it’s very important to select the right project. So, that is most challenging because as an actor you’re tempted to do every project that comes your way . Having the ability to pick and choose your projects is something that I feel is very challenging because every character requires a different dialect and a whole lot of work. I never bring up long hours, travel, staying away or not having weekends as challenges because all of that comes as part and parcel of being an actor. However, I think having to choose between projects and having gauze which one is good for you is most challenging thing according to me.” An eye catcher in this interview is the revelation of some of Barkha’s cherished and note-worthy accomplishments such as being a 12th board exam merit list holder and topping Maharashtra, raising awareness, and educating people for animal welfare, having the courage to make a shift into the web space and maintaining a healthy body lifestyle in terms of meditation, yoga and a fitness regime. Concluding the interview, Barkha also told us about some of her future goals and projects “One project that has already been announced by Jio Studios is The Great Wedding of Munnes which will release later this year. I am very excited about it. The entire look of the character I am playing is very interesting. It is like nothing anyone has ever seen me before in.” Booming with positive energy and quirkiness, Barkha Singh ends the interview with a heart-warming message for her fans- “YOLO. Everyone should really believe in living in the present moment. There is no point in spending time over-thinking. If you want to do something, do it now, don’t waste time procrastinating. If you feel like doing something, trust your gut and go for it!” SEARCH A Journey Shaped By Courage, Creativity, And Social Media With Aditi Sharma COVER STORIES Inner Joy Trails My Inspiration : A Candid Conversation With The Creative Anushka Kaushik COVER STORIES Barkha Singh’s candid candour makes the way to an eye-catching interview COVER STORIES Educate, Empower, Excel: Priyanka Chahar Choudhary's Inspirational Overture COVER STORIES Waluscha De Sousa On Being Her ‘True Self’ And Going On The Dream Journey COVER STORIES POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Sakshi Shah The Many Chapters Of Lekha Prajapati, From Performer To Storyteller 6 July 2026 COVER STORIES By Sakshi Shah Across Languages, One Voice: Sheena Chohan 1 April 2026 COVER STORIES By Sakshi Shah Mananveer Singh On Making Music That Feels Natural And Real 24 March 2026 COVER STORIES By Sakshi Shah Falak Khan On Acting, Identity, And Letting Her Work Speak For Itself 9 March 2026 COVER STORIES RELATED POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement
