  • Love child of Punk and Scene: Grunge

Love child of Punk and Scene: Grunge by Neha Pande Love child of Punk and Scene: Grunge 27 July 2020 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement If Punk fashion is an ‘anti fashion’ stance or movement then Grunge can be seen as a ‘non fashion’ statement or movement away from the typical sense of fashion set by fashion agencies or designers. Grunge is a love child of Punk and Scene which was also inspired by the comfortable fashion sense of the Hippie era. It was inspired by the dark theme of Punk with the nonchalant and loose fashion of the Hippie, i.e. a comfortable, uncoordinated look with the edgy style of Scene added to it which makes it look appealing. From vintage band tee shirts, flannels, oversized wool Pendletons to chunky Dr. Marten’s combat boots, high-waist jeans or comfortable cargo pants are some of the Grunge essentials. Grunge is an alternative rock music style featuring electric guitars and dragging lyrics. Grunge fashion is a part of grunge music genre and sub culture which started in mid 1980s Seattle and reached its popularity in early 2000s. This fashion is iconic with its durability and timeless thrifting with a vintage style. Celebrities like Kurt Cobain, the singer-guitarist of Nirvana used to wear an oversized striped sweater, ripped jeans, a pair of converse and unkempt hair which influenced grunge fashion. “Grunge has changed over time; flannels and Dr. Martens which were worn as “non fashion” statements have changed into a movement; a fashion statement in itself.” Designers like Marc Jacobs brought grunge to a luxury platform in 1993. He was inspired by his creative director of women’s design at Perry Ellis, debuting a whole spring collection inspired by grunge. A French brand which you all know as Louis Vuitton joined in the grunge fashion statement in 1997. Yet the fashion statement was called “ghastly” and only took off in the 2000s. It soon after became mainstream and made its way to the runways. Soon grunge trademarks like heavy layering, flannels, vintage band tees, Dr. Martens, oversized slouchy sweaters and many more were seen everywhere. Even today grunge fashion is alive but with some alterations and enhancements to aid the modern fashion. This has given birth to a whole new sub-genre of grunge aesthetic i.e. soft grunge, pastel grunge, cute grunge, Indie grunge and vintage grunge. The basic grunge of the 90s was dark and heavily inspired by scene and punk rock while these new genres were inspired by the various aesthetic needs of modern fashion. Grunge as a fashion statement has evolved and now it just doesn’t include dark but has some lighter shades added to its sub genres. It no longer contains just vintage band tees, ripped jeans, oversized sweaters or combat boots but has accommodated skirts, dresses, shorts, crop tops, cargo pants etc. with the basic grunge aesthetics. It’s a medley, mix and match, which is what fashion is. #GrungePunkFashionStatementFashionstatementStyleDesign SEARCH Why does Fashion Need Fashion Shows FASHION From Dreams To Crowns: Anuradha Garg’s Inspiring Mrs. India Story FASHION Colour Psychology in Fashion: Explained FASHION Legendary Female Icons Who Made Fashion Statements In The 20th Century FASHION The House of Chanel: History FASHION POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Sakshi Shah Francesca Bellettini Ushers In Gucci’s New Dawn 19 September 2025 FASHION By Shriniwas Kodape Dibba Studio: Weaving The Future Of Fashion At Thailand Fashion Week AW25-26 2 September 2025 FASHION By Shriniwas Kodape Aksstagga: Threads That Whisper Love, Memory, And Eternity 21 August 2025 FASHION By Sakshi Shah The Pursuit Of Comfort: Body By Victoria’s Secret Redefines The Everyday Bra 18 August 2025 FASHION RELATED POSTS Advertisement

  • The Revolutionary Fashion Bag Of 2024: Coperni Edition

The Revolutionary Fashion Bag Of 2024: Coperni Edition By Rini Pathak The Revolutionary Fashion Bag Of 2024: Coperni Edition 7 March 2024 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Success in the ever-evolving world of fashion, where trends change with the seasons, depends on one’s ability to stay current and creative. Coperni is one such brand that continuously pushes the limits of innovation and technology. Be it the year of 2023, when the designers of Coperni, Sebastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant showcased unique blend of modern styles with electronic gadgets, the Human Ai Pin being attached to lapels or the spraying of dress on the incredible Bella Hadid or even the bringing of robot dogs on the catwalk, Coperni have always been known for creating a stir at the Paris Fashion Week. This brand was founded in the year 2013 and have continued to be a revolutionary brand in the world of fashion. The latest and the most peculiar fashion accessory that has been launched by Coperni has been able to become the current talk of the town. I am talking here about the Air Swipe bag, created in collaboration with NASA. This bag is the brand’s newest take on its iconic Swipe Bag silhouette. It weighs just 33 grams overall and is constructed from the lightest solid substance in the world—99% air and 1% glass. The team was seen clarifying in an Instagram post published by the brand which stated, “nanomaterial has been used by NASA to capture stardust: because it can withstand extreme heat (1200o Celsius) and a pressure of 4000 times its weight. This Air Swipe bag is the biggest ever object made if this space technology nanomaterial.” The post goes on to say that silica aerogel, a nanomaterial, is the “glass of the future” and that despite being “very delicate,” the bag is actually “non-fragile.” Professor Ioannis Michaloudis created the bag, which measures 27 by 16 by 6 cm. NASA’s silica aerogel nanomaterial was first created and studied in the context of fine art by Dr. Ioniss Muchaloudis, a Greek academic, visual artist, and researcher who is renowned throughout the world as one of the pioneers in the fields of science and art. Coperni continues to be dedicated to designing the future of the fashion industry with this statement. With this invention Coperni has been able to prove that sky is actually the limits and maybe in the future it may even invent something which might showcase that even sky is not the limit. Now the question here, my beautiful readers is that is this bag the next most sustainable, fashionable and desirable thing in the fashion industry? Well, that only time shall tell which we all are looking forward to. • Most Colorful Cities In The World - why you should visit them?

by Priti Sharma by Priti Sharma Most Colorful Cities In The World - why you should visit them? 16 February 2023 TRAVEL Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Color makes life better, and travelers may discover the world's most colorful locations while traveling. The world's most vibrant sites may be found in busy metropolises and unspoiled natural settings. International cities greet tourists with a dash of color, creating fantastic picture opportunities and vistas, from unique mural artwork to the brilliant colors of skyscrapers. What attributes make a city beautiful? It relies on a number of variables, including the environment, architectural style, cleanliness, tranquility, and population. Additionally essential to a city's remarkable beauty are the colors. The eight cities with the most color in the world are listed below. 1. Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada: The oldest incorporated city in Canada dates back to 1785 and is located in the province of New Brunswick. Saint John City is well known for its downtown row houses that are painted in vibrant colors. It is one of the city's most well-liked tourist destinations. Jellybean Row refers to the row of colorful homes in Saint John's downtown. According to legend, residents of Saint John's used to paint their homes in vivid hues to maintain their attractiveness even during foggy conditions. Every house on the street is painted a different color, as you can see. Your trip on the city's walking tour will undoubtedly be one you never forget. 2. Chefchaouen, Morocco: Due to its isolation, the Blue City of Morocco has been cut off from the outside world for over a millennium. But why is it that color? Depending on who you ask, there are several explanations for why the Moroccan town of Chefchaouen is blue. Some claim that it is because of Jewish mysticism, while others assert that the blue tones are a naturally occurring mosquito repellant since they are found in the hills where the town was established. Chefchaouen is one of the world's most colorful towns, regardless of why it is blue. 3. Bo-Kaap, Cape Town, South Africa: Bo-Kaap in Cape Town has a vivid past. The Dutch brought many slaves to Cape Town throughout the 16th and 17th centuries from Malaysia, Indonesia, and various African nations. The enslaved were referred to as "Cape Malays." Several homes were constructed in this region in about 1760 and leased to the slaves. Later, the former slaves acquired the homes and painted them in vivid hues to symbolize their joy and liberation. Cape Town's Bo-Kaap neighborhood is situated at the base of Signal Hill and is rich in history and color. This residential neighborhood is well known for its vividly colored homes and winding pathways made of cobblestones. These residences showcase a fusion of Georgian and Dutch architectural designs. 4. Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India: The second-largest city in Rajasthan, India, is Jodhpur, popularly referred to as "The Blue City." The vibrant blue-washed homes in the old town are the source of the city's name. India was decades ahead of Morocco from one blue town to the next, despite the fact that Jodhpur's blue colors had a less than happy history. Electric blue buildings were historically designated for the "higher classes" and were originally painted as a part of the caste system. The custom, however, gradually spread across the town, turning the ruins of the cobalt buildings into a genuine tourist destination as well as a useful remedy for the oppressive heat. 5. Willemstad, Curacao The capital city of Curacao, Willemstad, is renowned for being a city with a rich cultural legacy. Rich in history, both public and private structures exhibit vibrant and often very beautiful architecture. In fact, the city is home to 750 vibrant structures in all. Historic structures may be found throughout Willemstad, many of which are notable for their use of Dutch architectural design. These beautiful, colorful structures, which date to the 17th century, draw hundreds of visitors each year. 6. Burano, Venice, Italy: Burano's multicoloured mansions have an intriguing truth. In the past, Burano's primary source of revenue was fishing. The fisherman had trouble identifying their cottages throughout the winter due to the dense fog. So they made the decision to paint their homes a variety of hues. The coloring custom in Burano is thought to have begun as a result of this occurrence. Today, you can notice that Burano's houses have a specific color scheme. In Burano, there is a clearly laid out procedure for painting homes. Let's say you live in the village and enjoy painting your house. Sending the government a formal request should be your first step. They will notify you which color you are permitted to paint your home. Interesting right? 7. Busan, South Korea The Gamcheon cultural hamlet is the main reason to place Busan at the top of your bucket list for Korea, despite the fact that it nearly often takes a back seat to Seoul. One of the most "Instagrammable" locations on the Korean peninsula, and maybe the whole globe, is a hillside covered in vibrant dwellings that people frequently compare to stacked legos. If this is on your trip wish list, you must visit it. 8. Santorini, Greece: Two colors are likely to spring to mind when you think of the Greek island of Santorini: white, which is the color of many buildings' walls, and blue, which also serves as the color of the island's dazzling Ionian Sea and many of its roofs. The city of Oia's building facades really contain a variety of other hues, but because the blues and whites are so striking, it's simple to get distracted by them. Take your photos on a clear day at dusk, when the prismatic sky sheds its brilliant light over the darkening metropolis, to fully enjoy Oia's beautiful rainbow. These were a handful of the ones we chose, and we're confident they'll make you grin. Make it a point to visit these locations, and prepare to be surrounded by every color of the rainbow. • Ahsaas Channa Talks About Her Mother Being The Inspiration Behind Her Career

Ahsaas Channa Talks About Her Mother Being The Inspiration Behind Her Career by Aparajita Jaiswal Ahsaas Channa Talks About Her Mother Being The Inspiration Behind Her Career 3 March 2022 Advertisement In a candid interview with Manya Vadehra, Ahsaas Channa (actor) talks about acting in movies, television, and digital web shows. From Jugaadistan to shooting for Hostel days season 3, she gives us some worth noting down “deets” from her upcoming projects. She is a passionate actor and believer. Ahsaas Channa was born and brought up in Mumbai. She started her career as a child actor in films such as Vaastu Shastra and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, where she stepped into male roles. “I was three years old and I was a very active child. Anytime there was any scene playing on TV, I used to remember all the lines, and for a three-year-old to remember all the lines was kind of weird and it catches a lot of eyes. So, my mom noticed this, and she realized that I might do well if I start acting and she put me for auditions. I had auditioned for Vaastu Shastra, which was my first film, and for the part, they had wanted a boy because the whole film was about this boy, but they really liked my audition. So, the director requested my mom, you know, if it’s okay for me to play a boy. And at first, my mom was not very (convinced) and she had many reservations but eventually said that I was too young and she saw no problems” says Ahsaas. The film performed exceedingly well and Ahsaas was given several opportunities including advertisements. Ahsaas added “I think when I was around seven years old, my mom realized that this is it, this should stop, and I should start acting like a girl. That’s when I did Phoonk. This was my debut film as a girl.” In her acting journey, Ahsaas received several television roles such as Oye Jassie (Disney) and MTV Fanaah. “Television was great. It was a whole different experience. Honestly, I never wanted to do TV as much but at that time, I did not want to leave acting because I was studying, and a lot of things were there. So, I always made sure I did cameos on TV shows, or a Disney show that doesn’t take much time, just like a few months where they shoot all the episodes together. So, I tried to do that as much. Even in Fanaah, I had a cameo with a lead role. I think TV really teaches you a lot as an actor because there’s a lot happening. I think doing TV is the best if you don’t go to an acting school. So, I got to learn a lot from TV. I got to understand axis and lighting, professionalism, and all these things” says Ahsaas as she explains how television acting played an important and significant role in her career span. Digitally run web shows have become a new and revolutionary trend in today’s world. It has brought about novel concepts, story angles, and acting methodologies. When asked for an opinion about OTT and its difference from films and television, here is what Ahsaas had to say- “I’ve realized that there is literally no difference because everybody is doing the same thing everywhere, be it on TV or on OTT. We are all trying to tell a story and acting and becoming characters. The only difference, maybe, would be the time period; how long it takes us to shoot a web series or a TV series. I think TV takes longer, it binds you for a year or more and web series is like a month or two months at max. As it is rightly said, behind every successful person, is an inspiring story or person. For Ahsaas Channa, it is her mother. “She’s the reason I’m an actor today. She’s taught me everything. I never went to an acting school, she groomed me and worked on my craft with me. She’s also an actress and I’ve seen her act and work hard. So, she’s always been my inspiration.” While talking about her experience, Ahsaas also reveals some positives and negatives of being in the spotlight in show business. “One thing that we always need to look out for is that there are a lot of people running in the same race. They are trying to achieve exactly what you are achieving. So, the moment you lose yourself and become a little lazy, you can be taken for granted and somebody else is going to overtake. For an actor, I think there are many good things. My favourite thing is that I get to do things that I wouldn’t be able to do in real life, for example, I’ve never ever studied medical. But through Kota Factory, I was a medical student. So, an actor gets to do different kinds of things that they wouldn’t do in real life. Play different characters, be in different situations and get different kinds of experiences. I’ve never been to a hostel, but I’ve done two shows that are based on hostels. I got to live the hostel life through these shows. So, I think this is the best part of being an actor.” Ahsaas “goes with the flow” when it comes to preparing for a role. She says “I read the script a lot of times before I’m on the floor. Also, I read scenes with the writers and the directors and get their feedback”. Ahsaas does not follow a particular method to prepare for a role. She explains by giving an example- “In Jugaadistan, I’m a journalism student. I don’t know anything about journalism. I just started watching a lot of interviews, I read a bit about journalism and journalists. But that’s all. That’s the max I do. I feel like if I prepare too much then things become very mechanical.” Throwing light into her upcoming projects, here’s what she has to say about them- “ Jugaadistan is set in the college universe. The universe that I’ve already explored. But it’s still very different because we’ve tried to explore a very dark side of college and university. While it is a lot of fun, we are still exploring friendships, relationships, jugaads, and a college fest in the show. There’s a brilliant ensemble here as well and everybody has a story of their own. I’ve always wanted to work with Akarsh Khurana and when I got an offer for this, this was the first thing that caught my eye, that Akarsh is directing the show.” Ahsaas also gave details about Hostel Days season and two more upcoming projects. Ahsaas Channa is a hard worker and believes that one should not take things for granted but keep working, believe in oneself and make the most out of the opportunities one gets in life. #AhsaasChannatalksabouthermotherbeingtheinspirationbehindhercareer #actor #jugaadistan #AhssasChanna #Fashion #play #lutopia #magazine #LutopiaMagazine #actress #lionsgateplay #Bollywoodactress #lionsgate #jugaadistan SEARCH A Journey Shaped By Courage, Creativity, And Social Media With Aditi Sharma COVER STORIES Inner Joy Trails My Inspiration : A Candid Conversation With The Creative Anushka Kaushik COVER STORIES Barkha Singh’s candid candour makes the way to an eye-catching interview COVER STORIES Educate, Empower, Excel: Priyanka Chahar Choudhary's Inspirational Overture COVER STORIES Waluscha De Sousa On Being Her ‘True Self’ And Going On The Dream Journey COVER STORIES POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Anurag Sen Vivian Dsena: The Fluke Star Who Became Television’s Undying Heartthrob 25 September 2025 COVER STORIES By Ananya Patankar Unscripted, Unstoppable: The Many Lives Of Christine Gulasatree 22 August 2025 COVER STORIES By Ananya Patankar Off Script, On Truth: Anshumaan Pushkar In His Own Words 30 June 2025 COVER STORIES By Ananya Patankar From Mowgli To Maverick: Why Shaan R Grover Feels Like The Real Deal 13 June 2025 COVER STORIES RELATED POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement

  • Pad vs Banana

SOCIETY by Aparajita Jaiswal Pad vs Banana 19 April 2022 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement What is Sex-education? I grew-up in a small town, where the people would receive a thrashing for uttering the word SEX. Writing the word SEX on any piece of paper, was no less than penning our own death warrant. Therefore, learning about it from our schoolbooks became impossible, and talking about it in the public was considered offensive. Along with my puberty came the age of 2G internet, and along with downloading video games setup on proxy servers, porn movies became the hot talk. These enabled the boys of my age to watch videos of penetrative sex. Yes, it was porn movies that gave us them first sex lessons. The debate of ban over pornography has always received mixed opinions, and even mine has fluctuated with time. Sex-education is certainly a must for every person in their late teenage and early adulthood. Particularly, for people like me who grow up in small towns with not much provided guidance. Having been a porn addict, I find myself qualified (read and learned) enough to write against pornography. Pornography lacks consent: I have watched many porn movies in which the female actors are seen undressing their male partners without their consent. The male actors are seen groping their female partners without their consent. Basically, pornography, in general promotes (at least supports) molestation in the name of sex. People may have different political, religious, and regional identities, but no one should consider molestation normal. Anyone defending pornography, for any intention, should at least not let this very thought slip away from their mind. Pornography encourages incest: A significant number of porn movies show the male actor having sex with a girl playing the role of his mother, sister, sister-in-law and even daughter. While the religions and cultures have different opinions on incest, research shows that incest is harmful to possible off springs. Majority of sex educators (gynaecologists) strongly oppose incest, and hence incest shouldn’t be encouraged in the name of sex through pornography. Sanitary napkins vs Bananas: A good porn movie (according to my younger version) is incomplete without a girl inserting unconventional items (like a banana) inside her private parts. The availability of such videos on the internet is a matter of disgrace. Sex education should be about spreading knowledge on the healthy menstrual cycle, sanitation of genitals, valuing consent, and so on. It should certainly not be about the ill-treatment of genitals but rather about EXPLORATION of sexuality. P.S.I do not intend to offend anyone. • Nothing Fits Like A Memory: Ishmeet Kaur In Khan Market

Nothing Fits Like A Memory: Ishmeet Kaur In Khan Market By Ishmeet Kaur Nothing Fits Like A Memory: Ishmeet Kaur In Khan Market 30 May 2025 LIFESTYLE Advertisement Fashion isn’t just worn — it’s inherited, haunted, and stitched through time. Our Fashion Editor returns to the market that quietly made her. There are places in a city that don’t beg for attention. They don’t scream style. They simply exist — like scars. Like old songs that still know your name. Khan Market is one of them. This isn’t a love letter. It’s a confession. And I’m its witness. I walk the market like someone flipping through an old family photo album. Not smiling, not sad — just soaking in the faded corners of a place that has somehow stayed stitched into my bones. There’s a rhythm here. It’s not loud, but it’s persistent. Like a heartbeat you forgot you had. I’m not dressed for spectacle. Off-white cotton shirt. Worn-in sandals. Hair pulled back in a lazy bun. But something about this place makes you want to be honest. Honest in how you look. Be honest in what you remember. Like I’ve lived here a hundred times before in dreams where nothing is clear but the light. This market is a paradox — colonial bones and millennial breath. Tea vendors next to Pilates studios. A rickshaw stalled beside a luxury car. The scent of mogra battling diesel fumes. And somehow, in this mess, I fit perfectly. Not because I want to — because I was built by it. I remember coming here with my mother after school. We never bought anything. We’d just look. Stare at mannequins. Run our fingers over silks we couldn’t afford. That was my first fashion education — silent, sacred, and stolen. And just like that, the memories pour in — unfiltered and oddly specific. The juice stall where my dupatta once got stained with pomegranate. The tailor who gave me a measuring tape like it was a wand. The mirror in a fitting room where I first saw myself not as a child, but as a woman. Back then, I didn’t know the word for style. But I knew how my mother’s dupatta smelled after the monsoon. How a fold could hide a mood. How women looked more confident walking out of shops, even if their wallets were lighter. That’s fashion. Fashion is about more than just the clothes. The change. The quiet transformation. The alchemy. Near the alley’s edge, a teenager leans against a scooter, smoking like it’s his last rebellion before dinner. The smoke curls slowly, thick, indifferent to the world. I watch him without watching. It’s not the cigarette — it’s the solitude. The way people carry themselves when no one’s watching. I don’t smoke. But I get it. We all need rituals. Mine just happen to be older — like folding fabric the right way. Or smelling something and thinking, yes, this belongs to someone I once loved. I pass shelves stacked with old hardcover books, tailors crouched over chalk lines like cloth surgeons, and individuals engaging in casual familiarity — hands brushing, eyes avoiding. The market hums, a soft drone of stories you’re never invited into but feel anyway. I stop at a crooked mirror nailed to a cement pillar. I don’t look in. Just stand. Khan Market isn’t fashionable. It’s flawed. Which is why it works. Like all beautiful things, it’s held together by memory and duct tape. By now, the sun has begun its slow descent into Delhi’s dust. Everything glows in the kind of light that makes regrets feel poetic. I sit on a chipped stone ledge, sipping overly sweet chai from a glass with a small crack down one side. I hold a brown-paper parcel in my lap. No label. Just texture. Inside it? Perhaps it could be fabric intended for a collection in the future. Maybe a gift for my mother. Or maybe just something that smelled like the past and felt like tomorrow. I won’t say. I don’t need to. Fashion, for me, isn’t about shouting. It’s about knowing. And Khan Market — chaotic, cracked, unbothered — taught me how to know things without naming them. Before I leave, I run my hand along the edge of a wooden bench. Carved initials from 1993. A plastic rose melting in the heat. A dog yawns. A rickshaw honks. Life keeps moving. But for a moment, everything is still. I guess some places aren’t destinations. They’re reminders. That I used to be teeny. And brimming with amazement. And that’s where style begins. Then I walk off — not hurried, not slow. Just enough to leave a trace. And Khan Market, that stubborn old soul of a place, exhales. Colour Blocking: Bold & Beautiful: Forget subtle, this season, it’s all about making a statement! Colour blocking is here to help you stand out and turn heads. From electric blues paired with fiery reds to sunny yellows clashing beautifully with lavender, the louder, the better. Try pairing structured crepe blazers with wide-leg pants in contrasting colours or mixing neon tops with neutral bottoms for a playful twist. • Skincare: The Ultimate Morning Beauty Routine

Skincare: The Ultimate Morning Beauty Routine by Priti Sharma Skincare: The Ultimate Morning Beauty Routine 10 December 2022 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement The most crucial thing you can do for your complexion is to develop a solid skincare routine, according to any dermatologist (or finicky beauty editor). And while everyone knows they should remove their makeup and use a night cream before bed, their morning skincare procedures are frequently inadequate. Blame it on our love of the snooze button, but sometimes getting out of bed, putting on some BB cream, and rushing out the door is all we can manage (grabbing coffee on the way). Now stop making excuses! We've created the ideal morning skincare regimen, which consists of 10 steps and will give you gloriously bright skin. We're confident you'll notice benefits if you stick to this strategy for two weeks. Step one: Exercise Even though you may not want to hear it, morning exercise promotes good circulation by boosting blood flow AND lowering stress. Your complexion will have a healthy shine for the rest of the day if you can get your heart rate up. We adore quick, furious HIIT exercises like the one from Cassey Ho because they're the ideal way to work up a sweat and improve the appearance of our skin. Step two: Hydrate Drink two glasses of water instead of two cups of coffee first thing in the morning (you'll likely need them straight after your workout). Your whole health depends on drinking adequate water, and dehydration is most noticeable in your skin's dullness, dryness, and breakouts. Making sure you hydrate in the morning makes you feel lovely and sets you up for successful skin for the rest of the day. Step three: Cleanse In order to remove any leftover germs, grime, or makeup from the previous night, you must wash your face in the morning. We enjoy cleansing our face in the morning with a mild oil-based cleanser to avoid overdrying it. Use lukewarm water to rinse; really hot or cold water might dry up your skin. With a clean towel reserved ONLY for drying your face, pat dry. Step four: Exfoliate You can exfoliate your face without a piece of expensive equipment if you're interested in beauty secrets. A cotton washcloth exfoliates the face just enough without irritating the skin and is soft enough to use daily. Then, wring out the washcloth so that it is damp but not dripping, and rub your face in tiny circular motions, beginning at your nose and moving outward to your temples, forehead, and chin. The massage movement will assist reduce any morning face puffiness and sloughing off any dead skin cells. Never again, swollen face! Step five: Cleanse again It's time for more cleansing, you heard us. You don't want to leave any dead skin on your face after exfoliation, do you? Without a doubt. This time, apply a very mild cream cleanser and massage it in tiny circular motions before rinsing it off thoroughly with warm water. Take a moment to admire how clean your skin is as you pat your face dry once more with a fresh face cloth. Step six: Tone This step is particularly crucial if you have oily or acne-prone skin since toner will help balance your skin and prevent it from overproducing oils. You don't want your skin to get dry, regardless of the kind, so be sure to select an alcohol-free solution. To find components that are calming for the skin, look for products that contain chamomile, hibiscus extract, and vitamin E. Apply toner on a cotton ball and gently sweep it over your face and neck to use. Do not ever wash your face! Step seven: Serum Serums are significant, as many people frequently enquire. Using a good serum is the best approach to get bright, beautiful skin since serums have higher concentrations of active ingredients than moisturizers or cleansers do. There is a specific recipe for you whether you want to repair sun damage, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, or even brighten your skin tone. A crucial hint is that applying the serum is just as essential as using the right recipe. Apply two to three pumps into your palm and gently rub it (if necessary) to warm and combine it between your palms. Then, gently apply the serum over your face, going from the nose outward. Do not rub. This makes sure that all those healthy elements really work their way into the body rather than just being spread around. Continue with the following step after waiting three to five minutes for the serum to absorb completely. Step eight: SPF Never, ever forgo sunscreen, even if it's cloudy or you plan to spend most of the day indoors. Let's prevent that if we can because even minor sun damage now can result in wrinkles, sunspots, a poor complexion, and probable melanoma in the future. Find a product with an SPF of at least 15, and we like anything above 30. If you want to use a standard cream or spray-on sunscreen, you should apply it similarly to how you would a serum: spray or squirt some of the product into the palm of your hand, massage your hands together, then gently press the sunscreen onto your face and neck. Better still, if the moisturizer you favor has an integrated SPF. Gently massage it over your face (don't rub) and feel accomplished by combining two elements of your ideal skincare regimen. Don't forget, though, that UV damage isn't only a concern for your face. Apply SPF on the tops of your feet if you're wearing open shoes, your chest, the backs of your hands, your exposed legs, and your scalp, where your hair grows. Avoid burns today for beautiful skin tomorrow! Step nine: Moisturize You've already accomplished this if you used a moisturizer with SPF; congrats! A mild moisturizer is mostly for daytime usage for everyone else. It prevents your skin from drying out during the day and helps it seem attractive and dewy beneath your makeup. Smooth your moisturizer over your face, neck, and chest, being careful to pat it on rather than rubbing it on the sensitive area around your eyes. Step ten: Primer The last stage! Primer is crucial since it not only hides fine lines and fills up pores, but also offers a flawless foundation for the rest of your makeup. Some primers even have skincare components integrated into them so you may enhance your complexion while ensuring the longevity of your foundation. Primers are frequently silicone-based; if you have silicone sensitivity, do your research to be sure the product you choose won't cause you to break out. Think of a pea-sized quantity of primer as being sufficient for most applications. Apply the primer to your skin (including your eyelids) with your two index fingers, paying additional attention to any very uneven areas. Allow two to three minutes for it to set, and then voila! You’re ready to apply your makeup, and your skin is ready to face the day. #Fashion #Skincare #MorningRoutine #Beauty #Skin #Makeup #Primer #Moisturize #SPF SEARCH Why does Fashion Need Fashion Shows FASHION From Dreams To Crowns: Anuradha Garg’s Inspiring Mrs.

  • From The Silver Screen To Human Rights Advocacy With Award Winning Actress Sheena Chohan

From The Silver Screen To Human Rights Advocacy With Award Winning Actress Sheena Chohan By Anushka Sharma From The Silver Screen To Human Rights Advocacy With Award Winning Actress Sheena Chohan 21 August 2024 COVER STORIES Advertisement L’utopia Magazine recently had the pleasure of speaking with the multi-talented Sheena, who has carved a niche for herself in both the Indian and international film industries. With a Cannes accolade, numerous awards, and an inspiring role as the ambassador for United for Human Rights , Sheena’s journey is nothing short of remarkable. In this conversation, she opens up about her experiences, her upcoming projects, and her passion for human rights. How has the journey been for you lately, Sheena? Sheena:It's been incredibly exciting! Recently, I won three awards for my film Amar Prem, which premiered at Cannes and has already garnered about 15 awards. It’s a beautiful short film, an emotional drama about a love triangle, reminiscent of classic stories like Silsila. My role as a devoted wife who discovers her husband’s illness was deeply challenging yet rewarding, and receiving recognition for it has been a dream come true. Your film’s success at Cannes is incredible! How was your experience at the festival? Sheena: Having my film premiere at the main tent at Cannes was surreal. But this year has been non-stop for me. I recently completed my Hollywood debut in a film called Nomad, directed by Taron Lexton, who's now working on a major project with Tom Cruise. Creating characters with such a talented team was a pure collaboration that pushed me to explore my craft in new ways. The international exposure has been amazing, and I’m eager to continue working with passionate directors and storytellers. How does working in Hollywood compare to Bollywood? Are there significant differences? Sheena: The working styles are different, yes. Hollywood tends to be more organized and professional, while Bollywood, though also organized, has its unique, more spontaneous energy. However, the dedication to making impactful cinema is the same in both industries. I believe the lines between Hollywood and Bollywood are blurring, especially with the rise of OTT platforms like Netflix and Amazon, which are bringing diverse stories to global audiences. Speaking of OTT platforms, what do you think the future holds for the industry? Sheena: I’m not a trade analyst, so I can’t predict the future, but I’m excited about the opportunities OTT platforms are creating. This year, I’ll be seen in a web series called Bhayava, where I play a she-devil, a role inspired by characters like Maleficent. OTT has opened up space for strong female leads and character-driven stories, which is fantastic for actors like me who crave diverse roles. You’ve also made significant strides as a UN Human Rights Ambassador. Can you share a bit about that journey? Sheena: Absolutely! I’ve been an ambassador for the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights for nearly a decade now. This year, I was honored with the Presidential Award in America, signed by President Biden, for reaching 170 million people with human rights education. My ultimate goal is to make human rights education mandatory in schools across India, as I believe it’s crucial for creating a positive change in society. It’s a cause that I’m deeply passionate about, and I’m committed to using my platform to further this mission. That’s truly inspiring. On the film front, what can we look forward to from you next? Sheena: I am thrilled about my Bollywood debut in Sant Tukaram, a historic biopic directed by Aditya Om, where I play a powerful lead role. It’s a dream project for me, given the depth and intensity of the character. I’ve always dreamed of being an actor since I was two years old, and now, I’m living that dream. You’ve had an impressive journey, training in theater and working across different film industries. What advice would you give to aspiring actors? Sheena:My advice would be simple: Don’t give up. This industry is full of setbacks, rejections, and challenges, but perseverance is key. Also, be professional and committed to your craft. Dedication and commitment can take you a long way, and you never know when your big break might come. Are there any directors you’re particularly eager to work with in the future? Sheena: I admire the work of directors like Anubhav Sinha, Raju Hirani, Shekhar Kapur, and Rajamouli. Each brings something unique to the table, whether it’s drama, comedy, or epic cinema. I’ve been fortunate to work with incredible filmmakers so far, and I look forward to collaborating with more in the future. You’ve worked in both Bollywood and the South Indian film industry. How do the two compare? Sheena: The Southern film industry is more personalized, with a strong emphasis on relationships and a family-like atmosphere on set. Bollywood, on the other hand, operates more like a corporate entity with agencies and PR's involved. But, as I mentioned earlier, the industry is evolving, and there’s a lot of crossover happening now between Bollywood and South Indian cinema. Finally, what kind of stories do you gravitate towards, and what excites you most about your work? Sheena: I love stories that are character-driven, whether it’s drama, comedy, or epic biopics. One of my all-time favorite films is Avatar by James Cameron. I’m particularly drawn to roles that allow me to explore different facets of human emotions and tell relatable stories that resonate with audiences. Through the conversation, it was evident that Sheena is not just an actor but a passionate advocate for human rights, a dreamer who has turned her childhood aspirations into reality, and an artist who continues to seek out meaningful stories to tell. Her journey serves as an inspiration to many, and we eagerly anticipate the next chapter in her remarkable career. • 5 Ways to Always Look CLASSY

5 Ways to Always Look CLASSY by Tanvi Punia 5 Ways to Always Look CLASSY 16 July 2021 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Classy style never goes out of fashion. It’s the biggest compliment when someone describes a person’s style as being classy. It’s definitely what everyone should strive to be. Classy style doesn’t always have to be boring as one can always incorporate classier trendy pieces into their looks. And of course, there’s so much more to being a classy person than just the way one looks. Here, the prime focus is just on how to look classy. Through this article, one can learn 5 easy ways to always look classy. So, let’s get started! Keep Clothes Pristine One should keep their clothes looking pristine and clean at all times. What is meant by this is that a person doesn’t always have to go out and spend hundreds of dollars getting really expensive clothes. Instead, even if the person is wearing something that’s relatively cheaper and they present themselves well and wear them right, they can make for a very classy outfit. One should always have their clothes crease-free. Balance the Outfits One can limit the amount of skin they show by not showing too much skin everywhere. Well, it is completely okay to wear something slightly revealing but the rule that most people like to go by is to balance it out. So, if a person is wearing something slightly revealing on the top, they can balance it out with something a bit more conservative on the bottom such as pants that can cover their legs. One can also wear skinny fit and show off their figure but it is much classier to cover up the bottom half and vice versa. Minimal and Natural Make-up Obviously, everyone would still do a few things to enhance their looks but one should not go overboard. With make-up, the three things to focus on would be the skin, eyebrows, and eyelashes. Everyone’s skin should always look nice and clean. There’s nothing worse than a cakey foundation look. In this day and age, everyone is going for a more natural, glowy look so lighter make-up should be preferred. Eyebrows definitely frame one’s face. If someone has messy eyebrows, no matter how nice their clothes or hair are, their face won’t look put together. As soon as they’ll have nice and tidy eyebrows, it will enhance their overall look. Wear Dainty Jewellery With everyday jewellery, it is always classier to go with dainty jewellery that looks high-quality. One can even wear them in the shower and not worry about them getting tarnished. So, having a few pieces that are really dainty and of good quality would last through the years and would definitely give a classier look overall. Wear Comfortable Clothes There’s nothing classy about wearing something uncomfortable and constantly keep adjusting. It’s a sure thing that everyone would have experienced these clothes that look really beautiful but are a bit uncomfortable. It just makes them look not very confident with themselves and this constant fidgeting is just not classy. So, one should choose their clothing items very consciously. So, these were the 5 ways of always looking classy. Incorporating them into daily life can make anyone look classy!
