  • Simran Mittal: From Fashion To Entrepreneurship - A Journey Of Glam & Glow

Simran Mittal: From Fashion To Entrepreneurship - A Journey Of Glam & Glow by Akshra Khandelwal Simran Mittal: From Fashion To Entrepreneurship - A Journey Of Glam & Glow 26 August 2023 LIFESTYLE Advertisement In the world of glitz and glamor, it's not every day that you come across a young and vibrant influencer who has successfully divided into entrepreneurship. Simran Mittal, a fashion and beauty industry name-making wave, recently sat with us for an exclusive interview. Her journey from being a teenage model to establishing her salon chain, "Glam & Glow," is inspiring. Let's dive into her world of creativity, passion, and empowerment. "How are you doing?" we asked, and she replied with a beaming smile, "I am doing wonderful." That cheerful demeanor set the tone for an engaging conversation, and we were eager to learn more about her journey. "To begin with, I come from a Punjabi business family; I was never a 'bright student'; I got decent grades and was not like everyone; I was waiting to finish school," Simran began, recounting her early days. It's fascinating how destiny often has its own plans for us, and for Simran, those plans were about to unfold. At 16, Simran started her journey as a model, walking on runways and featuring in brand shoots. But she realized that modeling alone wasn't enough to quench her thirst for success. Her real passion lay in winning pageants and entering the entertainment industry. However, a setback came when she was rejected from a prestigious pageant due to height criteria, which she believed was untrue. That moment left her shattered, but Simran, determined to prove herself, participated in another pageant and emerged victorious at 18. Little did she know that her journey would take an unexpected turn. "Never did I know my love for being in front of the camera would begin my career from my Instagram page," she said. With around 4-5k followers, brands started reaching out to her, and she unknowingly stumbled upon the realm of influencing. "One day, I got a call for a Fashion reality show, and I was all in to see what it's got," she continued. Though her stint on the show was brief, being the youngest contestant gave her invaluable experience. Simran confessed that entrepreneurship was always on her mind. At 19, she started her salon, "Glam & Glow," driven by her creativity and love for fashion. The salon chain aimed to deliver quality services with an eye for detailing. "It was never just a business for me; it was my baby that I wanted to grow and nurture," she said. Her entrepreneurial journey didn't stop there. At age 21, she launched her own nail cosmetic range, "S&T Beauty," which offered 100% vegan products with fewer chemicals, which was rare in the market. Simran's passion for fashion and glamming up is evident in her style. She described her fashion must-haves, including an Oversized White Shirt, Well-fitted High-waisted ripped jeans, and a Corset belt to elevate any look. Pastel co-ords are her go-to when she wants to look effortlessly glam. When asked about her fashion inspirations, she mentioned Blake Lively and Natasha Poonamwala, admiring their bossy and glamorous styles. Beyond fashion and entrepreneurship, Simran also emphasized the importance of self-care. She has been doing CrossFit for four years, which keeps her active and toned. Journaling and writing down affirmations are also part of her self-care routine. Simran shared some valuable advice for young creators as an influencer and entrepreneur. "Stay authentic instead of putting up content just for the sake of it," she said. "It's fine to take breaks and not post every day. Quality over quantity is crucial." She also emphasized the significance of sticking to one or two niches, which helps the audience connect better. Simran's message to the world reflects her compassionate and fearless nature. "Be kind and choose the right people to spend your time and energy with," she advised. She also urged everyone to express their opinions without fear and to keep experimenting without waiting for the "right time." Simran Mittal's journey is a testament to the power of passion, determination, and embracing unforeseen opportunities in the ever-evolving world of fashion and beauty. From facing rejection to becoming an influential entrepreneur, she has carved her own path, inspiring countless others. We couldn't help but be inspired by Simran's sheer determination and passion. Her journey from beauty pageants to becoming a successful entrepreneur showcases the power of believing in oneself and seizing opportunities that come our way. • The Spa At The Urban Wellness Centre: Four Seasons Bangkok’s Sanctuary Where The Body Forgets The Noise

The Spa At The Urban Wellness Centre: Four Seasons Bangkok’s Sanctuary Where The Body Forgets The Noise By Shriniwas Kodape The Spa At The Urban Wellness Centre: Four Seasons Bangkok’s Sanctuary Where The Body Forgets The Noise 4 September 2025 LIFESTYLE Advertisement Bangkok can chew you up. It’s a magnificent kind of chaos, sacred, sweaty, addictive, but it gets under your skin. The tuk-tuks buzz like caffeine shots, street vendors yell in every direction, and even the sunsets feel like they’re trying to sell you something. By day three, I was running on fumes, smelling faintly of lemongrass and regret. That’s when I walked into The Spa at the Urban Wellness Centre at the Four Seasons. No fluorescent lighting. No fake fountains. Just stillness. Cool marble floors, warm smiles, and a cup of something herbal I didn’t bother identifying. It tasted like surrender. I wasn’t looking for a spa day. I wanted to be put back together. The Spa isn’t a wellness center trying to be cool. It doesn’t hand you a clipboard and ask how “stressed” you are on a scale of 1 to 10. It watches. It listens. And then, it quietly goes to work. They call it the Urban Wellness Centre , but that doesn’t quite cover it. It’s a sanctuary carved out of one of the loudest cities in the world. A massive space of calm with soaring ceilings, indoor gardens, and a vitality zone that includes hot and cold plunge pools, herbal steam rooms, and a rain shower that falls like forgiveness. I stripped out of the city and into a cotton robe that fit better than half my wardrobe. My therapist, a woman with eyes like she’s seen 1,000 broken backs and fixed 999 of them, greeted me with a soft bow. She asked me one question: “What are you holding on to?” I didn’t know. But I was about to find out. The 90-minute Four Seasons Signature Massage wasn’t a massage. It was a conversation between muscle and memory. She used elbows, bamboo sticks, warm herbal compresses, and at one point, something I can only describe as ancient wizardry. My spine clicked into place. My breath slowed. The city melted off me like old wax. There were moments I drifted. Not into sleep, but somewhere beyond it. A place without notifications. A place without needing to be anywhere else. And it didn’t stop there. I wandered into a sound therapy room afterward. Bamboo walls, soft mats, and a bowl that sang when stroked. The sound wrapped around me, low and slow, until I couldn’t tell where it ended and I began. I floated out like I’d been reset. Everything about the Spa is intentional. Not flashy. Not performative. Just right. The bath oils don’t scream of lavender and cliché. The showers are carved from stone and shadow. There’s even a 3-hour Signature Ritual that starts with a body scrub and ends with your soul asking for a cigarette. I met a woman on the way out, dressed in all white, sipping on ginger tea like it was a martini. She smiled and said, “Second time this week. I live across town but it’s the only place that feels like the city forgot to follow me in.” I got it. Completely. I’ve been to spas that felt like they were trying too hard. Whale music, overpriced cucumber water, therapists who treat you like a to-do list. This wasn’t that. The Spa treated me like a person, not a customer. A person who needed quiet. A person who didn’t realize how loud everything had gotten until it stopped. On the way out, I stood at the edge of the inner courtyard. Wind brushed past the water garden. Somewhere, a bell chimed. My shoulders were lower. My jaw, unclenched. My body, lighter. Not healed completely. But I was reminded. The world outside was still spinning fast. But for a moment, inside those walls, I remembered how to be still. And that? That’s the kind of therapy no app can deliver. • The History Of Heels: Explained

The History Of Heels: Explained by Aishwarya The History Of Heels: Explained 4 November 2022 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement For the last 3 centuries, high heels are extensively thought to be a women’s vogue. Seen everywhere from the runways to daily work attire, adding several elevations to a woman’s height is often thought of as the key to attachment associate ensemble along. All the same, as addicts of fashion at intervals and out of doors the trade take strides to interrupt the gender binary in attire, multiple men are noticed sporting high heels. By clutches footwear that has become such an associate picture illustration of female fashion, their selection is far dubbed “ground-breaking” or “gender-bending.” Curiously enough, the invention of high heels began specifically for men. The initial notable kind of heels dates back to the 10th- century in Persia. Male warriors riding horseback used heels to secure their feet within the stirrups and provide them additional leverage while fighting. The origin of high-heels is derived back to the fifteenth century in Persia when warriors wore them to secure their legs in stirrups. Persian settlers brought the shoe trend to Europe, where men and nobles wore them to look tall and fearful. Because the high heel came to indicate power and military artistry, it conjointly changed into a show of wealth, as solely those with wealth might afford horses. This symbolism reemerges in France during the 1600s during the reign of King Sun King. The Master of Versailles used footwear to differentiate each category and preference of the military. In 1670, he declared that solely members of the noble category might wear heels, and also he solely allowed his favourite courtiers to wear red( his colour of choice). The most international and perhaps the oldest shoe story considers a righteous woman whose shoes elevate her to a progressive rank- Cinderella. The story of the ‘slipper test’ is derived from the first century in Egypt. This tale and many more like them, advocate the picture of slippers as status and represent the importance, power and magic of shoes. By the end of the French Revolution, though, high heels were thought of as too feminine and customarily forgotten by men in Europe, yet, across the pool, because the yank West began to draw in new settlers, the wrangler, arguably associated and outlined by his attire, was thought of as the epitome of masculinity and masculine pride. Most wrangler kicks featured an associate inverted spherical heel referred to as a Cuban heel( representing the footwear of ancient Flamenco prom) and were a necessity for staying upright while moving long distances on horseback. Despite this, heels outside the wrangler setting were typically still thought to be women’s shoes. It had been not till the 1960s, once the rock group jaded the “ Beatle Boots ” — associated with early replication of Chelsea kicks — that the heel was reinvited into menswear. Rock- n- roll teams of the late-twentieth century like Aerosmith and Mötley Crue embraced such tamed designs in addition, whereas glam gem artists like Kiss and David Bowie selected for alternative ostentatious renditions. Unlike the low Cuban heels of'70s hair bands, Bowie and his stage persona Ziggy romanticism gravitated towards daring platforms, stilettos, or typically improved heels all of that were, at the time, substitutable with women's fashion. Whereas cultures like drag queen communities and theatre culture throughout this point had earlier standardized men carrying heels and alternative historically womanly clothes, Bowie's look brought gender subversive fashion to the thought. In the 2010s, the come of the Chelsea bang in convenience wardrobes was, erstwhile once more, met was respectable attention. Though, as designers still mix menswear and womenswear, the androgynous lines around apparel and accessories have lightened in their harshness. Heels improved and flashier than a straightforward black Chelsea kick square measure additional common for men than in previous decades. Brands have used them as a part of their menswear collections, and they have so established their approach to streetwear. Such as apparel, the step-down of heels as a "woman's shoe" continues to unfold as attire becomes lesser tied to one's personal identity and sex. As men hit red carpets and magazine covers in robes, there's no reason they ought to not have a pleasant few heels to accompany them. • Reflecting on Our World’s Billionaires Despite Corona

SOCIETY By Aparajita Jaiswal Reflecting on Our World’s Billionaires Despite Corona 27 July 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement The coronavirus has hit the global economy hard and that includes even the richest people in the world. Forbes recently published its annual list of billionaires and found that the number of billionaires has dropped significantly because of the pandemic. Even among those still on the list, more than half saw their wealth decrease since the pandemic. There were 2,095 billionaires on the list when it was finalized on March 18, according to the business website. That was 58 fewer billionaires than last year and 226 fewer than at the beginning of the month, Forbes reported. Of course, with the markets in flux because of the coronavirus, each billionaire’s net worth also fluctuates depending on the day. Despite this, Jeff Bezos, 56, still stands to be the richest man in the world, despite transferring a quarter of his Amazon stake to his ex-wife MacKenzie last summer, according to Forbes. He was worth $113 billion on March 18. Coronavirus has led Jeff Bezos to donate $100M to feed hungry Americans. Bezos’ gift was the largest single donation Feeding America has ever received. “Today, I want to support those on the front lines at our nation’s food banks and those who are relying on them for food with a $100 million gift to @FeedingAmerica,” Bezos wrote on Instagram. Despite the plight of the world and the ongoing economic effect of the coronavirus crisis, billionaires in the U.S. have seen their wealth increase by over $406 billion in the past month. Other billionaires who have seen their wealth grow amid the pandemic include Tesla CEO Elon Musk — also by nearly $10 billion since January 1. In that time, Zoom founder Eric Yuan has added $3.5 billion to his net worth at $7.4 billion, thanks to the popularity of his video conferencing software in lockdown. Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has added more than $4 billion to his fortune. #JeffBezosBezosCoronavirusInstagramTeslaTeslaCEOElonMuskElonMuskMacKenzieZoomfounderEricYuanFormerMicrosoftCEOSteveBallmerBillionForbesPandemicWealthBillionaireFeedingAmerica SEARCH Why India is the most depressed country in the world? • Bullying

SOCIETY by Akash Khatri Bullying 1 December 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Have you, even in the slightest way, ever bullied or been bullied? I think most of us have, and that’s an unfortunate thing on both the sides. People of all ages are bullied, or bully someone, from a very young age to an old age, too; and at every possible place. May it be at the playground, or schools and colleges or public places, and so on. Not only peers, friends, fellow mates or strangers; sometimes even family members and relatives are responsible for bullying. Even unnoticed things such as some rude comment, or a taunt can hurt someone deeply; and this promotes bullying. Types of bullying: Physical bullying: When bullies try to hurt or torture someone physically, or even touch them without their consent. Verbal bullying: It is when a person taunts or teases the other person. Psychological bullying: When a person or group of people gossip about another person or exclude them from being part of the group, can be termed as psychological bullying. Cyber bullying: When bullies insult, hurt, spread rumours about or harass someone on social media. They make embarrassing and degrading (sometimes very inappropriate) comments, even on public forums, where others can see them; and hurt the person. Bullies also share the person’s personal information, pictures or videos to spoil someone’s public image. Sometimes, we say or do things that we think are just for fun; but it might be affecting the other person. And if they ask you to stop, do not continue doing it. And if you notice someone bullying or being bullied, call it out. Bullies haven’t always been the same. Some things in their life made them do it once or maybe twice; but they resorted to it. Sometimes, the ones who are bullied turn into bullies. Calling out will bring the bullies forward and preventing bullying will not only save people from being bullied, but can also help prevent more people turning into bullies. • Cancel Culture

Cancel Culture by Akash Khatri Cancel Culture 1 November 2020 LIFESTYLE Advertisement Cancel culture, a social media phenomenon where active social media users seek to remove the clout of a celebrity who says or does something offensive by ‘cancelling’ them. Basically, the ‘cancel’ here means to cancel out or end a person’s career in reaction to his or her unacceptable behaviour or action. For instance, if there is a celebrity or any public figure who makes a misogynistic, racist, casteist, or sexist statement or commits an act of sexual crime, there could be calls to boycott the actor’s films and other works, exile him or her from all public events and disconnect the person from all the social alliances. As a result, the person is ‘cancelled’ culturally, socially, economically and politically. There are two types of cancel culture, first one a call-out culture. Here, the responsible individual is mortified publicly on social media for his or her statements and the resulting outcry hold them accountable for their fallacy. The second variant is more serious. Here, the celebrity is called out on social media and a larger mass boycotts his or her products or services, eventually bringing a full stop to their careers. Most of the times it gets much wider and substantial or controversial but the immense recognition cancel culture enjoys, especially among teenagers and young adults, makes it one of the most controlling movements in recent times. One of the main critiques of cancel culture is that it’s making people more bigoted, quick to judge and banish those who even slightly disagree with them. Cancel culture doesn’t leave any room for constructive discourse because social media users often deliver a quick decision, based on a snap judgment, to a celebrity they view as offensive — leaving no opportunity for them to put forward their explanation on their act and make their case against their own ‘cancellation.’ But people tend to forget — whether a celebrity is canceled or not, it is up to the celebrity themself, not on those wanting to cancel them. Though targeting someone will not just affect them, but their mental health and the livelihood of many related to them, and that’s not just. However, ending someone’s career completely is easier said than done. Not many entities have had their careers completely shut down due to the negative views on the internet. Actor and activist Jameela Jamil, has said that this phenomenon is a “pointless waste of time.” But, then again, the term is utilsed among so many, that to figure out if the phenomenon is negative or positive have been made indistinct. The principal questions are: Has social media simply given another name to something that is going to exist for a lifetime? Does this phenomenon really exist when cancelling someone doesn’t mostly work forever? Does the idea of being cancelled stop awful content? Or is it just another trend that is being followed blindly? One thing that is much needed and should be updated is the fashion and clothing and if it’s in the good side without putting burden on the environment we live in what could be better than that? Advocating sustainable fashion, I must say clothing made from cotton ,jute etc would not only be eco friendly but it could give a big boost to the economy as well if one finds a way to make it more reasonable and classy. Infact, bigger brands have already started working on that and it’s more of a movement and process fostering change to fashion products and the fashion system towards greater ecological integrity and social justice. A Journey Shaped By Courage, Creativity, And Social Media With Aditi Sharma By Anushka Sharma A Journey Shaped By Courage, Creativity, And Social Media With Aditi Sharma 19 October 2024 COVER STORIES Advertisement In a realm where opportunity often knocks in unexpected ways, Aditi Sharma's story shines as a beacon of resilience and creativity. Known for her vibrant presence on screen and her fearless stint on "Khatron Ke Khiladi," Aditi’s journey is a blend of passion, social media savvy, and sheer determination. To Fearless Beginnings: Conquering Khatron Ke Khiladi: Starting the conversation with her experience on the adrenaline-pumping reality show, Aditi shared how "Khatron Ke Khiladi" was nothing short of a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Handling scorpions and jumping into deep waters was daunting, yet exhilarating. It was a test of physical endurance and mental strength, but Aditi embraced every challenge. Despite her short run on the show, she left with memories that transformed her. “Most of the things were very scary,” she reflects. “But it’s also real fun because, in the end, you’re doing something you never thought possible. I used to not be afraid of water, but after the show, I have a new respect for deep water. It was a different feeling.” From YouTube to Stardom: A Dream Takes Flight: Unlike many who set their sights on acting through traditional channels, Aditi's journey began in the digital realm. During her college days, she dreamed of being on screen but didn’t know where to begin. Starting on YouTube while studying journalism and mass communication, she hoped her presence would someday lead to bigger opportunities. And it did. Her first break came with a Clean & Clear face wash commercial, which took her to Bangkok on her first international trip. That advertisement opened doors for more projects, and social media played a crucial role in her rise to fame. “Social media was everything for me,” she says. “It’s how people discovered me, from YouTube videos to getting shortlisted for magazine shoots. That was my entry into the industry.” Navigating the Roller Coaster of Life in Entertainment: Aditi admits that her career has been a roller coaster, marked by highs and lows. The magical storyline, combined with the physical demands of the role—such as performing stunts and working with harnesses—challenged her creatively and pushed her boundaries. “Every project I’ve worked on holds a special place in my heart, but that show was particularly close to me. It was a creative playground where imagination ran wild.” All About The Love for Travel and Finding Balance: Though her schedule is often packed with 12-14 hour shoots, Aditi carves out time for her other passion—travel. She fondly recalls her trips to the Maldives, a place she calls “breathtaking,” for its serenity and beauty. Whether it’s enjoying a romantic getaway or simply relaxing with friends, Maldives remains her favorite destination. Despite the long working hours, Aditi emphasizes the importance of balance. She begins each day with a 30-minute workout to boost her energy, which she credits for keeping her physically and mentally fresh. • Into The Enticing and Harmful World of Fast Fashion

Into The Enticing and Harmful World of Fast Fashion by Rupashree Ravi Into The Enticing and Harmful World of Fast Fashion 13 August 2022 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement What comes to your mind when someone says trendy, fashionable, and affordable? Of course, big brands like H&M, Zara, Forever 21, and Shein, which are widely popular and are known for their cheap and fashionable clothing. These are clothing giants that entice their loyal customer base with sales and exciting offers, and you cannot say no to them. But the cost of making these clothes comes at a heavy price. These brands are the biggest players in the fashion industry and are also among the most damaging industries for the environment. They are fast fashion retailers who bring out large quantities of a variety of products and allow consumers to get more fashion and product differentiation at a very low price. Stores like Zara, Forever 21 and H&M are the pioneers of fast fashion in the 21st century ‘Fast fashion’ is cheaply manufactured and low priced garments that copy the latest catwalk styles and get quick entry into retail stores in order to maximise on the current fashion trends. It is called the fast fashion model because it involves rapid design, mass production, and distribution as well as heavy marketing. Today, it takes less than fifteen days for a garment to move from the design stage to being sold physically in stores. The term has gained more prominence in recent times and is often used in conversations revolving around environmental consciousness as well as sustainability. This is extremely worrisome because the fashion industry, especially since the rise of fast fashion, has become the second largest consumer of water and is responsible for 10 per cent of carbon emissions and 20 per cent of wastewater globally. It also dries up water sources and pollutes waterways. This is because these fast fashion retailers use about 700 gallons of water to make one cotton shirt and about 2,000 gallons to make one pair of jeans. Moreover, the textile dyes that they use contribute to polluting these waterways as the chemicals leak into the water, which also poses health risks to the general population. Fast fashion has been growing at an unsustainable rate These brands also use synthetic fibres like polyester, nylon and acrylic which take several years to biodegrade. The fast fashion model is also an energy-intensive process. Even cotton is not an environment-friendly fabric to manufacture for fast fashion companies as they are exposed to a number of pesticides that are very harmful. So, what’s the solution? The alternative to fast fashion is sustainable fashion or eco-fashion. To counter the environmental damage caused by fast fashion, sustainable fabrics like wild silk, organic cotton, hemp, linen, and lyocell can be used in a responsible manner. We can certainly choose to shop in a more sustainable way, but getting involved with sustainable fashion does not necessarily require buying anything new. Sustainable fashion aims to be conscious and ethical Sustainable fashion brands like Brogger, Insom, Ka-Sha focus on bringing out cruelty-free products. They use fewer resources wherever possible to reduce impact and conserve water by using organic mills and ozone technology in its production to benefit people, plants, and animals. Some of these brands also give away their profits to charitable causes. Even vegan leather has become very popular in recent times. Local Indie fashion brands are becoming popular It is essential that we as consumers stop buying from these fast fashion companies and instead choose locally produced garments. Try opting for local Indian brands like Udd Stories or Anokhi that are made by indigenous communities. #FastFashion #SustainableFashion #EcoFashion #VocalForLocal #OOTD SEARCH Why does Fashion Need Fashion Shows FASHION From Dreams To Crowns: Anuradha Garg’s Inspiring Mrs. India Story FASHION Colour Psychology in Fashion: Explained FASHION Legendary Female Icons Who Made Fashion Statements In The 20th Century FASHION The House of Chanel: History FASHION POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Sakshi Shah Francesca Bellettini Ushers In Gucci’s New Dawn 19 September 2025 FASHION By Shriniwas Kodape Dibba Studio: Weaving The Future Of Fashion At Thailand Fashion Week AW25-26 2 September 2025 FASHION By Shriniwas Kodape Aksstagga: Threads That Whisper Love, Memory, And Eternity 21 August 2025 FASHION By Sakshi Shah The Pursuit Of Comfort: Body By Victoria’s Secret Redefines The Everyday Bra 18 August 2025 FASHION RELATED POSTS Advertisement
