- Sapna Dhanwani's Journey: Balancing The Life Of Stardom And The Corporate
Sapna Dhanwani's Journey: Balancing The Life Of Stardom And The Corporate By Anushka Sharma Sapna Dhanwani's Journey: Balancing The Life Of Stardom And The Corporate 12 August 2024 LIFESTYLE Advertisement Sapna Dhanwani's venture into content creation is a tale of transformation and self-discovery. Her story began in the early days of Instagram, when it was just a platform for sharing personal moments. Balancing a traditional 9-to-5 job, Sapna used Instagram to post pictures of her meals, travel, and fashion . It wasn't long before her unique style and taste attracted attention. As friends and followers began asking about her outfits and where to purchase them, Sapna noticed a growing interest in her content. Despite her desire to pursue content creation full-time, she hesitated. The comfort of a stable income and the uncertainty of a new career path made it challenging to take the leap. In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic served as a catalyst for change. With more time at home and a desire for a career shift, Sapna contemplated diving into content creation full-time. The arrival of her baby further intensified her need for a flexible work schedule. Sapna found herself struggling to balance her demanding job with her role as a new mother, leading to feelings of dissatisfaction and burnout. Resigning from her corporate job was a significant decision for Sapna. She acknowledged that it wasn’t just about leaving a steady paycheck but about reclaiming her personal happiness and well-being. After resigning, she set herself a timeline—six months to a year—to see if her content creation career could take off. If not, at least she would be present for her daughter and continue pursuing her passion as a hobby. To her delight, the response was positive. Brands started showing interest in working with her, and Sapna found herself collaborating with some well-known names. The transition from corporate life to content creation allowed her to exercise her creativity fully. Unlike her previous job, where brand guidelines were strict, Sapna now had the freedom to set her own rules and drive her content according to her vision. However, the journey was not without its challenges. The initial months without a regular income were tough. Sapna had to adjust her lifestyle and budget more carefully. Despite these difficulties, she remained optimistic, leveraging her savings to navigate through the lean periods. Her approach to content creation became more aligned with her personal values and interests, leading to a fulfilling career shift. Sapna’s experience highlights a broader narrative about the evolving role of influencers and content creators. In places like Dubai, the influencer market is burgeoning, providing ample opportunities for those who are professional and dedicated. The shift towards influencer marketing reflects a broader trend where brands value authentic content and personal connections over traditional advertising methods. For Sapna, the move from Dubai to Ras al Khaimah—while still working in Dubai—has been a practical choice to balance her family life with her career. Her story is an inspiring example of how embracing change and pursuing one’s passions can lead to a rewarding career shift, even when faced with uncertainty and initial financial challenges. Sapna Dhanwani’s journey from a corporate career to becoming a successful influencer is a testament to the power of following one’s passions and adapting to life’s changes with resilience and creativity. - Dear Earth
SOCIETY by Anushka Singh Dear Earth 1 October 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Dear Earth, I hope you’re doing fine. It has been an extended time since we last talked. To be honest, I feel wordless. It’s one of those dilemmas where we have got an entire ocean of thoughts inside us but we feel clueless of how to let it flow. We’ve been here before for countless times, the crisis chats, arguments, disputes, tears, promises and plenty more. But now, it’s different. Now I understand why they say: “It’s not you, it’s me.” I loved you from the instant I became capable of even understanding words like these. I saw your unequaled beauty, your tenderness and warmth, your soothing and diligently devoting nature. Although you never reacted to my ceaseless vents, you continued to make me feel the solace around you that I felt nowhere else. And, I am thankful. You have always been there, making me feel the very fact that I am not alone, through your littlest of efforts. Nightly, when I’ve spent hours watching the sky trying not to feel sad, you made me feel your presence. Every sundown, after I sat on the waterfront admiring your charm, the wind kissed my cheeks. I do know it surely was you, notifying that you love me back. I muse on all the content times we humans explored your magnificent mountains and endless seas; after we lazed in your sun, pacified by your pleasing breeze. I always hoped for these precious moments which are so near my heart, to never end. Over the years, I have tried to carry out my part of promises. I assumed multiple times, why do you even need me or people to talk on your behalf if you are the one to create us in the first place. I wasn’t sure if it was just another trick of yours to make people act or you were just terrified of something. I feel apologetic to admit, I didn’t even ask you. You were and you have always been my ally, my best friend and I like a stupid, just assumed that I knew what was best. I guess that is the point, isn’t it? You kept trying to speak. To me, to people, to the universe. We just took it light enough for you to destroy yourself. But today, I accept. It isn’t you, it’s me; it’s us. The reason i’m writing this letter is because I have realised something. It’s not you who needs the saving, it’s me. It’s me and us, the humans. We humans, who try to become the hero for you, forgot that you don’t actually need one. In those magnificent mountains and endless seas, lies the flair for us to nourish, clothe and foster ourselves, without limit. Your warm sun and pleasing breeze can give us the energy to learn, work and prosper over a lifetime. You’ve always been there helping us literally survive and live. You have been there in every way that you could but when came our turn, we backed off. We became selfish as we are. Dear earth, here I am. Here I am, apologizing on behalf of the whole civilization and human race, for destroying all that you gave us with all of your love. I am sorry, for the things that i could not stop and the things i am unable to change anymore. Please know, all of me loves all of you regardless of anything. It’s just that you won the game of proving yourself and I failed. Yours truly, Someone who is really sorry. SEARCH Why India is the most depressed country in the world? - Bangkok Under My Skin: The Mantra Etched By Arjan Neng
Bangkok Under My Skin: The Mantra Etched By Arjan Neng By Shriniwas Kodape Bangkok Under My Skin: The Mantra Etched By Arjan Neng 28 July 2025 LIFESTYLE Advertisement It was the kind of Bangkok morning that smells like motorbike oil, incense smoke, and wet concrete—the kind where time slips sideways, and your hangover negotiates with the gods. I took the alley like I was stepping into a fever dream—barefoot monks brushing past neon signs, the street food vendors already yelling, the city already sweating. Somewhere deeper in the maze of On Nut, I found him. Arjan Neng . Not a man. Not quite a myth either. Just a calm force sitting on a tiger pelt, like the morning was waiting for him to speak first. This was my fourteenth tattoo. I didn’t come for the design. I came for the surrender. The ritual. The silence. The Sak Yant . I'd heard stories— Bourdain’s voice lingering in my head like distant thunder. Not for the camera, but for the truth. The raw, old magic of it all. Inside the modest temple room, candles flickered in front of golden effigies. His students moved wordlessly around him, preparing ink, checking offerings, lighting incense that smelled like molasses and rain. No needles buzzing here. Just bamboo. Fire. Breath. A monk's whisper and a master’s hand. I handed over flowers, incense, and cigarettes—standard offerings, but not transactional. You don’t pay for a Sak Yant. You offer. You don’t demand. You accept. You sit still and trust. Arjan Neng didn’t ask what I wanted. He placed his hand on my arm and closed his eyes. I didn’t flinch. I had thirteen tattoos already—some tribal, some absurd, some forgotten. But this one was different. It wasn’t about art. It wasn’t even about pain. It was about letting go. The sak—the sacred ink—is mixed with oils, herbs, even snake venom or bone dust, depending on the lineage. The yant—the yantra—is ancient geometry meets prayer. Not decorative. Protective. Guiding. A spiritual circuit board etched into skin. He began. The bamboo rod moved fast and deliberate, its tip striking with a rhythm older than language. Tap. Tap. Tap. It didn’t hurt like a machine. It hurts like poetry being drilled into your soul. My skin opened and bled under his hands, and he chanted in Pali with a low, looping cadence that made the room feel like it was spinning just slightly off-axis. I didn’t know what he was inscribing. I didn't want to know yet. That was the point. This wasn’t a tattoo you pick off a wall. This was one the master chose for you. A mantra. A map. Through the haze, I caught flashes of his own journey— Arjan Neng had trained under revered monks deep in the countryside, learning the sacred geometry and invocations that stretch back centuries. His lineage traces through old jungle temples and battlefield monks who inked warriors before war. This wasn’t street mysticism. It was scripture written in flesh. He finished without ceremony. Just a nod. My arm throbbed, blood mixed with black ink trailing down my elbow like a signature. One of his disciples cleaned it, then placed a square of gold leaf on the fresh wound. Not for decoration—for blessing. Then came the final chant, the activation. Without that, the Sak Yant is just a tattoo. And then… silence. Not awkward silence. Not temple silence. Just peace. Out in the alley again, the city resumed its riot. Tuk-tuks screeched, dogs barked, the skyline hissed in the heat. But I moved through it differently now—like a line had been drawn between me and the chaos. A mantra lived on my arm. Not a tiger, not a demon, not some Instagrammable charm. A sacred formula Arjan Neng had chosen just for me. For protection, maybe. Or clarity. Or balance. Who knows? You don’t always need to understand the fire to feel its warmth. Later that night, I lit a cigarette on my hotel balcony, Bangkok flickering below me like a faulty neon sign. The tattoo still burned, but it wasn’t painful anymore. It was a memory. It was a presence. It was Bangkok under my skin. And for the first time in a long while, I didn’t need to ask why. - Waluscha De Sousa On Being Her ‘True Self’ And Going On The Dream Journey
Waluscha De Sousa On Being Her ‘True Self’ And Going On The Dream Journey by Panav Minocha Waluscha De Sousa On Being Her ‘True Self’ And Going On The Dream Journey 29 December 2022 COVER STORIES Advertisement Waluscha De Sousa is an Indian actress and model who made her debut into Bollywood in the 2016 film Fan. She was recently in the Hindi-language thriller on Sony Liv-Tanaav. Waluscha made her debut into the fashion and modeling industry at the early age of 16. When asked the pros and cons of this early venture into the world of glamour, she replied that she didn’t plan at first to start working at 16. However, she just happened to be discovered at that age by the late fashion designer Wendell Rodricks, and felt extremely fortunate to have worked under his guidance. “He held my hand and never let go. I was very very lucky and very very fortunate to have someone like him (Wendell)”, she said. Having achieved milestones early on in her career, Waluscha mentioned how she became the face of Wendell’s clothing brand, got to be on the cover of a Femina magazine at the age of 17, and starred in a Pepsi commercial with Shah Rukh Khan at the same age. She also talked about how she went onto becoming MTV’s fresh face, and walked in the first Lakm é fashion week in India. She expressed immense gratitude towards Wendell Rodricks for all these achievements. “I owe him so much. So much of what I am today wouldn’t have been possible without him. For me, the journey was smooth with a few bumps along the way, but when I look back I’m just very grateful for having somebody like that in my life.” Waluscha comes from a mixed cultural background, being half Goan-Portuguese (from her father’s side) and half German (from her mother’s side). She was asked how this affected her career, and if it hampered it in any way. Her response: “Yes and no. I inherited my mother’s external appearance. This helped me immensely in the glamour industry. Although, I am inherently very much Indian and I’ve inherited this from my father.” She explained how India and Indian culture played a huge role in her life. “I was born and brought up in India, studied in India, and have my friends and family here.“ On the other hand, Waluscha also talked about some hardships she faced in the film industry. “Unfortunately I didn’t see the same embrace in the film industry. There was this preconceived notion in everybody’s heads that I was not Indian and didn’t speak the language, or I’m not desi, when it’s actually quite the contrary.” She said that she knew how to read and write in not only Hindi, but having grown up in Goa, was fluent in Marathi and Konkani just as well. “All the work that I’ve done in web-series and films has helped me break this notion.” Starting her career as a model, Waluscha only later ventured into the film industry. When asked if this was always her goal or if it happened inevitably, she replied that acting was something she always wanted to do. “The arts were something which always attracted me. Goa is a land filled with singers, musicians, and theatre. I was always drawn to the stage, and you would have seen me on the stage much more than you would see me in the classroom. It was a space that I really enjoyed and it was always inherently who I was. “ Waluscha also appeared to be incredibly enlightened by the response that her latest series- Tanaav, has received. “Tanaav has helped me break the notion that I am in some way un-Indian much more than any of my other work done in the past. The response that has come in post Tanaav has been overwhelming. I cannot even describe the feeling. Two days post it’s release, suddenly everyone knew my name, people who matter actually saw and appreciated my work…” Tanaav is a Hindi-language action thriller streaming on Sony Liv, revolving around conflict in the Kashmir Valley. It is a remake of the Israeli TV series Fauda, which is streamed internationally on Netflix. Waluscha plays the role of Zainab Riaz in the show. - Christian Dior: missed designer and his legacy
Christian Dior: missed designer and his legacy by Aparajita Jaiswal Christian Dior: missed designer and his legacy 1 May 2021 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement What we know about Christian Dior, commonly known as Dior, is that it’s a French luxury goods company controlled and chaired by French businessman Bernard Arnault, who also heads LVMH, the world’s largest luxury group. But what many of us do not know about the brand is its origin. The company was founded in 1946 by designer Christian Dior. It currently designs and retails leather goods, fashion accessories, footwear, jewellery, timepieces, fragrance, makeup, and skin care products, while also maintaining its tradition as a creator of haute-couture under the Christian Dior Couture division. The Christian Dior label remains largely for women’s offerings, although the company also operates the Dior Homme division for men and the baby Dior label for children’s wear. Products are sold throughout its portfolio of retail stores worldwide, as well as through its online store. The House of Dior was established on 16 December 1946 in “a private house” at 30 Avenue Montaigne in Paris. However, the current Dior Corporation celebrates “1947” as the opening year. Businessman Marcel Boussac decided to financially back Dior. Boussac first invited Dior to design for Philippe et Gaston, but Christian Dior declined as he wanted to start his own brand instead of reviving an old one, leading to his first launch, New Look, a fashion collection for Spring–Summer 1947, on 12th February 1947. The company was a majorly owned affiliate of Boussac Saint-Freres S.A. and was really a vanity project for Boussac. Nevertheless, Dior had a non-controlling stake in the firm and allowed a great part of his namesake label despite Boussac’s reputation as a “Control freak”. Expansion from France began by the end of 1949 with the opening of a Christian Dior boutique in New York City. After this, Christian Dior signed a contract with Douglas Cox for Dior to produce original designs and for Douglas Cox to create them in his Flinders Lane workshop in Australia. In 1950, Jacques Rouët, the general manager of Dior Ltd, devised a licensing program to place the now-renowned name of “Christian Dior” visibly on a variety of luxury goods. Members of the French Chamber of Couture denounced it as a degrading action for the haute-couture image. Nevertheless, licensing became a profitable move and began a trend to continue for decades to come, which all couture houses followed. The company operated firmly established locations in Mexico, Cuba, Canada, and Italy by the end of 1953. By the mid-1950s, the House of Dior operated a well-respected fashion empire. Christian Dior launched more highly successful fashion lines between the years of 1954 and 1957. However, none came as close to the profound effect of the New Look. Christian Dior appeared on the cover of TIME dated 4 March 1957. The designer soon afterwards died from a third heart attack on 24 October 1957. The captivating impact of Dior’s creative fashion genius earned him recognition as one of history’s greatest fashion figures. Kevin Almond for Contemporary Fashion wrote that “by the time Dior died his name had become synonymous with taste and luxury.” “Perfume is the indispensable complement to the personality of women, the finishing touch on a dress” ~Christian Dior Dior without Christian Dior. The death of the head designer left the House of Dior in chaos, and general manager Jacques Rouët considered shutting down operation worldwide. This possibility was not received graciously by Dior licensees and the French fashion industry. To bring the label back on its feet, Rouët promoted the 21-year-old Yves Saint-Laurent to Artistic Director the same year. Laurent had joined the House’s family in 1955 after being picked out by the original designer himself for the position of the first ever and only Head Assistant. After change of multiple designers and various scandals, Dior now, presently, has created strong partnerships with Hollywood celebrities and social media influencers, working closely with these individuals to reach more demographics and re-establish its identity as a new, modern brand, despite the fact that it has been around for a while. Dior has effectively implemented social media into their marketing communication strategy, in which images and videos from campaigns are shared on both the official Dior profile, and on the celebrity ambassadors’ social media pages. An example of this success is seen in the Secret Garden campaign featuring Rihanna. Despite the reach not being completely suitable to the Dior target audience, collaborating with the likes of Rihanna allows the company to engage with more of the market, as Rihanna’s social media following is four times larger than that of the fashion house. #DiorChristianDiorFashionLuxuryCompanyCoutureRihannaFrench SEARCH Why does Fashion Need Fashion Shows FASHION From Dreams To Crowns: Anuradha Garg’s Inspiring Mrs. India Story FASHION Colour Psychology in Fashion: Explained FASHION Legendary Female Icons Who Made Fashion Statements In The 20th Century FASHION The House of Chanel: History FASHION POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Shriniwas Kodape The Snake That Wore Red: Inside The Vision Cultured™ Revolution 19 October 2025 FASHION By Sakshi Shah Francesca Bellettini Ushers In Gucci’s New Dawn 19 September 2025 FASHION By Shriniwas Kodape Dibba Studio: Weaving The Future Of Fashion At Thailand Fashion Week AW25-26 2 September 2025 FASHION By Shriniwas Kodape Aksstagga: Threads That Whisper Love, Memory, And Eternity 21 August 2025 FASHION RELATED POSTS Advertisement
- Smooth Operator: Audi’s Q5 Hybrid Is Built To Tempt
Smooth Operator: Audi’s Q5 Hybrid Is Built To Tempt By Ananya Patankar Smooth Operator: Audi’s Q5 Hybrid Is Built To Tempt 14 July 2025 LIFESTYLE Advertisement Sleek, intuitive, and engineered to whisper rather than roar, the Audi Q5 e-hybrid is a car for those who believe performance shouldn’t demand attention—but effortlessly earn it. It’s not just about going electric. It’s about elevating every moment behind the wheel. Audi turns the page with two bold new additions to the Q5 lineage. From first glance, it’s clear it isn’t merely an SUV made for commuting. The SUV and Sportback are not just sculpted but add to its athletic silhouette more akin to modern architecture than machinery. Whether you’re gazing at the Sportback’s sleek roof-line or the classic stance of the SUV, the Q5 e-hybrid feels at home anywhere: coastal highways, cobbled cities or countryside curves. However, there is more to the Q5 than just its astonishing architecture. Beneath its sculpted form beats the unmistakable heart of Audi—quattro all-wheel drive, now re-imagined with electric precision. Available in two power-trains—220 kW and a thrilling 270 kW—the Q5 e-hybrid isn’t just a hybrid; it’s a masterclass in dynamic elegance. It’s an experience of choice, a choice that makes your Sunday grocery runs pleasurable and weekend getaways relaxing. With up to 100 kilometers of pure electric driving the car promises that signature Audi surge, hitting 0 to 100 km/h in as little as 5.1 seconds. When it comes to the driving experience, you're enveloped by a cabin that feels more sanctuary than vehicle. Soft-touch material wraps you in Audi’s S line design, where every surface, every control, feels positioned not just with thought, but with compassion. There’s subtle confidence here, a feeling where your Q5 understands before you speak. The Q5’s fully digital MMI experience plus is not just an infotainment system, but rather your co-pilot, artfully integrating Audi’s application store, along with smartphone interface, and a dynamic sound system that drowns the traffic allowing you a pleasurable and non-stressful drive. As for the passenger experience, Audi does not compromise. The fully adjustable rear seat bench plus lets passengers choose their own realm of space—whether you’re traveling solo with weekend luggage or with a backseat trio heading for dinner in the hills. As promised, your vehicle strives to understand before you even speak, responding with utmost silence, like it’s EV mode. Driving the Q5 e-hybrid in EV mode is like slipping into a private members’ club—exclusive, hushed, effortless. Where power and peace collide. With three levels of regenerative braking controlled by steering wheel paddles, you can command the drive with a gentle flick of the fingers. Whether coasting into a quiet sunrise or descending a hillside road, the Q5’s intelligent hybrid system ensures that every joule of energy is put to sophisticated use. And when the roads open up? That’s when the combustion engine joins the ensemble—smooth, quiet, and seamlessly blended with it’s electric torque. It’s not a transition you notice; it’s one you feel, like the subtle gear shift in a live jazz quartet. Additionally, beneath that is a battery system re-imagined; not just to perform but think ahead. At the heart of the Q5 e-hybrid is a re-imagined high-voltage battery with 45% more capacity than its predecessor. Audi didn’t just increase the numbers—they re-engineered the battery architecture, using a “cell-to-pack” design that not only boosts energy density but preserves cabin and trunk space. Resulting in up to 1,358 liters of storage in the SUV with the seats down—and a silent confidence that no detail has gone overlooked. Consecutively, charging too can be considered a part of your lifestyle, rather than just another chore. With 11 kW AC charging capability, you’re looking at a full charge in just 2.5 hours. Plug in at home after your evening run, and it’s ready to go by the time you finish your espresso. But beyond convenience lies intelligence—the kind that can predict your next move. Audi’s hybrid drive strategy is more than just intelligent—it’s instinctual. With Predictive Efficiency Assist , the car uses GPS data, traffic analysis, even gradient readings, to determine when to recover energy or coast—making the most of every meter. It’s like driving with a sixth sense, where the car knows when to push, and when to pause. In addition, there’s a refined rhythm to the Q5 e-hybrid’s movement: the quiet confidence of a machine that’s always aligned—with the road, the moment, and you. Whether in EV, hybrid, or full performance mode, this Audi adapts not just to roads, but to the luxurious lifestyle you seek. In a world obsessed with volume, the Q5 leads with stillness and luxury. The Q5 earns admiration through craft, presence and purposeful innovation. You can feel it in the red brake calipers peeking behind 19-inch alloy wheels, in the tailored black sports seats, in the way ambient lighting turns night drives into theatre. Built in San José Chiapa, Mexico, and arriving in Europe mid-2025, the Q5 e-hybrid is more than a new chapter—it’s Audi at its most evolved. It speaks to the modern driver: someone who values sustainability, yes—but refuses to compromise on thrill, texture, or style. With the Q5 e-hybrid, Audi redefines modern luxury—not through volume or velocity, but through refinement, range, and instinctive ease. - Blood Falls In Antarctica: Explained
by Aishwarya by Aishwarya Blood Falls In Antarctica: Explained 11 February 2023 TRAVEL Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement You might have heard about waterfalls, but have you heard about blood falls? Yes, as creepy and scary as it sounds, blood falls isn’t blood falling from a cliff. Blood falls is situated in Antarctica, the ice-covered continent of the earth. While many researchers are keen on researching and preventing this ice-covered continent, some of them found out that this blood-red colour waterfall has no explanation for its colour. Antarctica is the coldest place on the planet, and the average annual temperature around the Blood Falls is around -17 degrees. This area is located within Victoria Land, west of McMurdo Sound. Now, you might be thinking if we can visit Blood Falls. Well, to answer that, Atlas Obscura has said that Blood Falls can only be reached by helicopter from the McMurdo Station (U.S.). The colour of the Blood Falls was initially identified as red algae . Now, a study in the Journal of Glaciology has revealed the true origin of Blood Falls with the help of radar to scan the layers of ice from which the river pours. The deep red fall was discovered in the year 1911 when scientists noticed a river that stained the surrounding cliff of ice with a dark red colour. Though the theory behind the red colour was believed to be the effect of algae, thanks to research by the University of Alaska Fairbanks , which revealed the true origin of Blood Falls. The study boils down to describing the red colour of the oxidized iron in brine saltwater, the same process that gives the iron a dark red colour when it rusts. The research team obtained the glacier using radio-echo sounding to map out the features below the glacier. The super-saturated brine that makes up the river allows the stark density contrast in RES compared to non-saline ice. The research team also calculated that the water approximately takes 1.5 million years to finally reach Blood Falls as it makes its way through fissures and channels in the glacier. You might think that the water would be frozen in place as it sits below a thick layer of ice. However, many aspects allow the water to remain liquid. One of the many aspects is the release of latent heat associated with water freezing, this low amount of heat contributes to keeping the water as a liquid. Furthermore, the water super-saturated with salt freezes at a lower temperature than fresh water. Another interesting fact is that Blood Falls also contains microbes that can survive in extreme conditions. These microbial communities can live with sulfates in the water. They provide hints on how life could have developed on other plants that lack oxygen. The Blood Falls in Antartica is no less than a miracle. It is full of new discoveries and mysteries. We need to be more careful with our environment, as there are more such amazing things to discover, before destroying them. The colour of the Blood Falls was initially identified as red algae .
