Madhya Pradesh, is a large state located in Central India and is known as `The Heart of India`. It' s cities are well connected and known for their tourist destinations and hospitality. The state is a hub of temples, forts, palaces, national parks, wildlife sanctuaries , beautiful landscapes and street food which attracts many tourists every year.

The Top 10 places to visit in Madhya Pradesh are:


1. Bhopal



Bhopal is one of the greenest cities of India and is also known as the ` City of Royals`. It is famous for its pair of artificial lakes; the upper lake and the lower lake which splits the city. Towards the north are mosques, markets , serpentine alleys and food corners. On the other side are modern shopping malls and posh hotels.


2. The Sanchi Stupa



It is located in Sanchi, which lies towards the North - East of Bhopal.It is one of the oldest stone structures and an important monument of the Indian architecture.It was built by Ashoka the Great and houses the ashes of Lord Buddha.


3. Omkareshwar



Omkareshwar is shaped in the form of Hindu religious symbol 'Om'and located on the meeting point of river kaveri and narmada. It is a famous pilgrimage site and has one of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines of Lord Shiva.


4. Maheshwar



It is located on the north bank of river Narmada and known as the ' temple town' of Madhya Pradesh.It was the capital of Ahilya Devi Holkar ' s empire during the 18th century.It is famous for Maheshwari fabric and sarees. The town also holds mythological importance since it's name has been mentioned in the Ramayana and Mahabharata.


5. Mandu



Mandu is located in the Malwa region and known for its Afghan architectural heritage and is surrounded by stone walls.The city is a testament of the love between Prince Bahadur and Rani Roopmati. It has famous monuments like Jahaz Mahal, Dai ka Mahal, Rewa kund and palaces of Rani Roopmati and Prince Bahadur.


6. Gwalior



Gwalior is the birthplace of the great musician Tansen and is famous for temples ,palaces and forts which the city a majestic charm.


7. Orchha



Orchha is located on the banks of river Betwa and was founded by Rudra Pratap. It is famous for Ram Raja Mandir and many palaces.


8. Indore



Indore is one of the largest and most populous city of Madhya Pradesh. It is also known as ' Mini Mumbai'. It is famous for many monuments,malls, temples and street food.


9. Bhedaghat



Bhedaghat is situated near Jabalpur and is famous for Dhuandhar falls and a valley made of high marble rocks.It is famous for boating at night, as the rocks shine like silver.


10. Pachmarhi



Pachmarhi is the only hill station and highest point in Madhya Pradesh.It is also known as ' Satpura ki Rani' and is famous for waterfalls , green forests, Satpura National Park and Pandav Caves, which which were built by the Pandavas during their exile.
