  • Breeze By Lebua State Tower: Duck Skin, Oolong, And The Distance Between Who You Are And Who You Were

By Shriniwas Kodape Breeze By Lebua State Tower: Duck Skin, Oolong, And The Distance Between Who You Are And Who You Were 9 September 2025 FOOD Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement I wasn’t looking for redemption. I just wanted to regale. Bangkok had been loud all day—sticky heat, tuk-tuks coughing up diesel prayers, and that electric chaos of a megacity that never completely lets you be alone. So when the elevator at Lebua opened onto the 52nd floor, and the night air slapped my face clean, I felt something close to stillness. The kind of stillness that usually comes right before something unforgettable—or tragic. And that’s when I saw it. A skybridge glowing violet, like a spinal cord to the stars. No signage. No shouting. Just the quiet confidence of a place that knows it doesn’t need to scream. Breeze by Lebua, perched in the clouds, is a temple to Chinese cuisine—bold, meticulous, and rooted more in memory than in trend. It isn’t just a dining spot. It’s a floating cathedral of soy, smoke, silence, and second chances. The first revelation came in the form of a salad. Not the limp, guilt-ridden afterthought of Western menus. No. This was Duck Salad—pomelo pearls gleaming like citrus caviar, crisp duck skin cracking under your chopsticks, plum sauce sweet but not syrupy, bitter greens and toasted pine nuts woven together like a quiet overture. It wasn’t a starter. It was a handshake from the chef. A challenge: “Are you ready for what’s coming?” And to wash it down? Bollinger Special Cuvée—lively and rich, like a polite punch to the throat. It cleared the palate and the mind in one swig. The duck didn’t stand a chance. I barely had time to reflect before the second act began. They asked if I wanted the Wok-Seared River Prawn in oolong soy or the steamed Tia Mara oyster with chili vermicelli. I looked at the waiter and said, “Why choose?” He didn’t blink. Just nodded and vanished. The Wok-Seared River Prawn arrived first—sizzling, lacquered in oolong, touched with young ginger and the kind of tea leaf you imagine monks hiding in mountaintop caves. It tasted like earth and elegance. Crisp edges, tender body, sauce like a slow-spoken poem. Paired with a clean, mineral Vermentino, it whispered of restraint. Of fire used wisely. Then came the oyster—a monster, bathed in fermented Hunan chili and tangled in glassy vermicelli. One bite and the heat unfurled, slow and sultry. It didn’t scream—it seduced. It left a burn in the throat and a smile on my face. A dish that doesn’t beg for approval. It assumes it. I was ready to tap out. But Breeze by Lebua was just getting warmed up. The steamed ruby fish came next. No fancy tricks. No drama. Just soft flesh, steamed to the edge of breaking, cloaked in black bean and white sesame, with a pickled chili sauce that teased rather than tortured. This was classic Chinese cuisine—filtered through a modern lens. Minimal. Precise. And paired with Chablis Premier Cru, it was silk meeting steel. Then the main course landed like a full stop. They offered me two options again: Wagyu beef with mui choy or charcoal-grilled lamb rack with XO sauce and ginger-scallion fried rice. I went with the lamb. Something about the smoke in the air told me it was the right call. The meat came blistered, nearly black at the edges, dripping with XO, black garlic, and unapologetic indulgence. It tasted like someone grilled heaven over hardwood. Fried rice? Fragrant with ginger, scallion oil glistening like streetlights on wet pavement. The whole plate buzzed with energy. It asked you to lean in. I took a sip of Silver Oak Cabernet, and suddenly, the night made sense. But then came the wagyu. (Yes, I had both. You knew that.) Marbled cubes of beef, sticky with soy, surrounded by trumpet mushrooms and bitter preserved greens. This wasn’t beef. This was memory foam for the soul. It didn’t demand your attention. It deserved it. By this point, Bangkok shimmered below like a wet painting. The wine was down to its last drops. I leaned back in the chair—full, foolish, and ready to call it a night. But Breeze by Lebua had one more card to play. Chocolate Banana. Sounds like a punchline. It wasn’t. Chocolate parfait, sable biscuit, banana caramel, banana ice cream, vanilla ganache—each element more indulgent than the last. But instead of overwhelming, it all came together in harmony. A soft, playful coda to a hard-hitting symphony. It wasn’t just dessert. It was forgiveness. For the city. For the heat. For the oyster I devoured too fast. For the version of myself that eats to forget. A final sip of 10-Year Tawny Port—warm and nutty—sealed the deal. I sat there in the quiet, chewing the skyline, sipping the last of something I didn’t earn, and thinking: This is why we go out. Not for calories. Not even for flavors. But for the feeling that somewhere out there, someone still gives a damn about doing it right. And when they do? The sky eats first. But you’re lucky enough to follow. • The USA Is Almost Giving Up On TikTok, And Here Is Why

The USA Is Almost Giving Up On TikTok, And Here Is Why By Anushka Sharma The USA Is Almost Giving Up On TikTok, And Here Is Why 15 March 2024 LIFESTYLE Advertisement In the ever-evolving landscape of social media, few platforms have captured the hearts and screens of users quite like TikTok. From viral dances to comedic sketches, TikTok has become a global phenomenon, with its user base skyrocketing to over 170 million in the United States alone. However, behind the curtain of seemingly innocent cat videos and lip-sync challenges lies a brewing storm of geopolitical tension and national security concerns. The latest chapter in the TikTok saga unfolds in the hallowed halls of the US House of Representatives, where lawmakers have recently passed a bill that could spell trouble for the app and its Chinese parent company, ByteDance. The bill, aptly named the "Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act," aims to force ByteDance to divest from TikTok or risk being booted out of US app stores altogether. But why all the fuss? Well, it boils down to one word: trust. Or rather, the lack thereof. US legislators have voiced concerns that TikTok's close ties to the Chinese government could compromise user data and national security. With China's track record of tight control over its tech companies and its infamous "Great Firewall" restricting access to Western social media platforms, the fear is that TikTok could be used as a tool for surveillance or propaganda. These concerns have been exacerbated by TikTok's meteoric rise to prominence, fueled by its addictive algorithm that seems to know exactly what content users want to see before they even know it themselves. This uncanny ability to capture and retain users' attention has raised suspicions about the true intentions behind the app's development and operation. In response to mounting pressure from US lawmakers, TikTok CEO Shou Chew has adamantly denied any allegations of wrongdoing, insisting that ByteDance is a private company not under the thumb of the Chinese Communist Party. However, skeptics remain unconvinced, pointing to China's 1 percent stake in ByteDance and its control over one of the company's board members as evidence of deeper ties. As the battle over TikTok rages on, it has become a microcosm of broader tensions between the US and China. With Washington increasingly wary of Beijing's growing influence on the world stage, TikTok has become a convenient target for politicians looking to flex their muscles and protect national interests. But what does all this mean for TikTok's legions of devoted users? Well, for now, it's business as usual. The bill passed by the House of Representatives does not explicitly ban TikTok outright but rather gives ByteDance six months to divest its ownership. However, some observers argue that this is essentially a death sentence for the app, as finding a buyer willing to navigate the treacherous waters of US-China relations may prove to be an insurmountable challenge. Despite the uncertainty surrounding its future, TikTok remains defiant, with supporters rallying behind the platform in the name of free speech and digital innovation. Whether TikTok will emerge victorious or succumb to the pressures of geopolitical brinkmanship remains to be seen. But one thing is for certain: the battle for TikTok's soul is far from over, and the stakes have never been higher. So, grab your popcorn and stay tuned for the next twist in this captivating tale of politics, power, and social media supremacy. What do you think? Do you think the era of TikTok has finally come to an end? • Love child of Punk and Scene: Grunge

Love child of Punk and Scene: Grunge by Neha Pande Love child of Punk and Scene: Grunge 27 July 2020 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement If Punk fashion is an ‘anti fashion’ stance or movement then Grunge can be seen as a ‘non fashion’ statement or movement away from the typical sense of fashion set by fashion agencies or designers. Grunge is a love child of Punk and Scene which was also inspired by the comfortable fashion sense of the Hippie era. It was inspired by the dark theme of Punk with the nonchalant and loose fashion of the Hippie, i.e. a comfortable, uncoordinated look with the edgy style of Scene added to it which makes it look appealing. From vintage band tee shirts, flannels, oversized wool Pendletons to chunky Dr. Marten’s combat boots, high-waist jeans or comfortable cargo pants are some of the Grunge essentials. Grunge is an alternative rock music style featuring electric guitars and dragging lyrics. Grunge fashion is a part of grunge music genre and sub culture which started in mid 1980s Seattle and reached its popularity in early 2000s. This fashion is iconic with its durability and timeless thrifting with a vintage style. Celebrities like Kurt Cobain, the singer-guitarist of Nirvana used to wear an oversized striped sweater, ripped jeans, a pair of converse and unkempt hair which influenced grunge fashion. “Grunge has changed over time; flannels and Dr. Martens which were worn as “non fashion” statements have changed into a movement; a fashion statement in itself.” Designers like Marc Jacobs brought grunge to a luxury platform in 1993. He was inspired by his creative director of women’s design at Perry Ellis, debuting a whole spring collection inspired by grunge. A French brand which you all know as Louis Vuitton joined in the grunge fashion statement in 1997. Yet the fashion statement was called “ghastly” and only took off in the 2000s. It soon after became mainstream and made its way to the runways. Soon grunge trademarks like heavy layering, flannels, vintage band tees, Dr. Martens, oversized slouchy sweaters and many more were seen everywhere. Even today grunge fashion is alive but with some alterations and enhancements to aid the modern fashion. This has given birth to a whole new sub-genre of grunge aesthetic i.e. soft grunge, pastel grunge, cute grunge, Indie grunge and vintage grunge. The basic grunge of the 90s was dark and heavily inspired by scene and punk rock while these new genres were inspired by the various aesthetic needs of modern fashion. Grunge as a fashion statement has evolved and now it just doesn’t include dark but has some lighter shades added to its sub genres. It no longer contains just vintage band tees, ripped jeans, oversized sweaters or combat boots but has accommodated skirts, dresses, shorts, crop tops, cargo pants etc. with the basic grunge aesthetics. It’s a medley, mix and match, which is what fashion is. #GrungePunkFashionStatementFashionstatementStyleDesign SEARCH Why does Fashion Need Fashion Shows FASHION From Dreams To Crowns: Anuradha Garg’s Inspiring Mrs. India Story FASHION Colour Psychology in Fashion: Explained FASHION Legendary Female Icons Who Made Fashion Statements In The 20th Century FASHION The House of Chanel: History FASHION POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Sakshi Shah Manish Malhotra Unfolds A Couture Finale At Dubai Fashion Week 11 February 2026 FASHION By Sakshi Shah At Dubai Fashion Week, Day Five Unfolded — Krésha Bajaj In Focus 9 February 2026 FASHION By Sakshi Shah Day Four At Dubai Fashion Week AW 26-27 Was About Designers Owning Their Voice 8 February 2026 FASHION By Sakshi Shah Dubai Fashion Week AW 26-27, Day Three: Seen Through The Clothes 6 February 2026 FASHION RELATED POSTS Advertisement

  • Heritage Meets Haute: Zhuojiaren x Red Palace Aw Collection Stuns At Thailand Fashion Week

Heritage Meets Haute: Zhuojiaren x Red Palace Aw Collection Stuns At Thailand Fashion Week By Ananya Patankar Heritage Meets Haute: Zhuojiaren x Red Palace Aw Collection Stuns At Thailand Fashion Week 13 July 2025 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement From mandarin collars to sweeping capes: East‑West dialogue redefined for AW25/26 Blending Chinese heritage with modern structure, ZHUOJIAREN x RED PALACE’s AW25/26 collection presented a quiet strength—where sculpted silhouettes, rich textiles, and refined detailing met on equal footing. When Zhuojiaren joined forces with Red Palace at Thailand Fashion Week ’s Femme runway, it wasn’t just a show, it was a statement. The collection was built with intention on clarity and control. The Femme lineup leaned into precision: strong silhouettes, minimal styling, and a deliberate use of texture and tradition. Rather than dramatizing heritage, the designers distilled it—offering a wardrobe that was structured, symbolic, and fully modern. At the heart of this collaboration are two distinct yet deeply connected design houses. Zhuojiaren, led by creative mentor Benjamin Wong, is known for its refined tailoring and intellectual approach to form. Partnering with Red Palace—a heritage label founded in 2007 by Zhang Yaru and her daughter Deng Liyuan, who now heads design at Zhuojiaren—the collection draws from a shared lineage. Their vision is clear: to merge tradition with clarity, and craft garments that carry the weight of legacy without ever feeling nostalgic. The Autumn/Winter 2025–26 collection is rooted in the idea of evolution—not as departure from heritage, but as a refined progression. Drawing on symbols of Chinese dynastic elegance, the designers explored how tradition can be reshaped through precision and restraint. The collection doesn’t speak loudly; instead, it holds presence through silhouette, material, and form. There’s a quiet dialogue running through each look—between East and West, past and present, heritage and intention. Rather than reference history directly, the pieces echo it: in the fold of a sleeve, a collar line, a choice of fabric. It’s heritage, held in tension with modern clarity. The collection incorporated a palette which was rich, controlled, and intentionally regal—deep emerald, garnet, sapphire, and midnight black formed the foundation, punctuated by ivory, steel gray, and hints of muted gold. Fabric choices leaned into tactility: brocades with quiet sheen, wool blends with sculptural weight, and satin that moved with understated fluidity. Embroidery was used sparingly but meaningfully—often tonal, sometimes metallic, always placed with precision. The collection relied on texture to speak where embellishment might once have been louder, creating depth without drama. Every material choice reinforced the collection’s core philosophy: heritage reinterpreted through minimalism and balance. Additionally, the runway opened to a full house at Bangkok’s EM Quartier, with Zhuojiaren x Red Palace positioned as one of the day’s standout presentations. On a stark runway that mirrored the collection’s restraint, each look emerged with composure and intention. Industry observers quickly noted the collaboration’s clarity of vision—refined, composed, and resistant to spectacle. The phrase “a dynasty of design” began circulating backstage and across social media, capturing the inter-generational depth and quiet power on display. In a week of bold gestures, this was a collection that stood out by doing less, and doing it with precision. This collection wasn’t just offering a highlight of Thailand Fashion Week—it was a refined case for the future of cultural fashion. It showed how heritage, when edited with care and confidence, can move forward without losing its core. In an industry often driven by noise, this collection chose discipline over drama. And in doing so, it left a lasting impression: that quiet design, when grounded in purpose, speaks the loudest. • Life Changing Trips Everyone Should Experience At Least Once

by Priti Sharma by Priti Sharma Life Changing Trips Everyone Should Experience At Least Once 15 February 2023 TRAVEL Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement A vacation is usually an excellent idea. It's never a terrible thing to switch up your surroundings and put work aside for a few days, no matter where you're going. However bizarre it may sound, becoming bored when on vacation is possible. I'll give you an illustration: You're not taking full benefit of travel if your yearly vacation involves going to the same little beach town every summer, where you stay in the same lodgings and dine at the same eateries. It's good to return to a location that seems familiar, but discovering new things is one of the most delicate parts of traveling. It's a chance to venture beyond your comfort zone and experience sights, sounds, and tastes that are unavailable to you at home. If you're ready to try something different the next time you go OOO, let us give you some ideas. We've put up a list of 11 amazing journeys that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime. You can cross these off your bucket list when you go on your next journey. 1. Hike in a National Park One of the finest ways to see the natural beauty that can be found right here in the United States is to visit a national park. It's hardly surprising that tourists from all over the world flock to these locations given the abundance of animals, magnificent natural features, and unrivaled stargazing. Make it a point to visit at least one (but ideally many!) of the 63 national parks that are dispersed around the nation during your lifetime. The Grand Canyon, Rocky Mountains, Yellowstone, and Glacier are just a handful of the amazing places that should be on your bucket list. 2. Visit Paris Romance, creativity, fashion, and cuisine. Although Paris sells them throughout the year, the Salon du Chocolat is when they are highlighted. The top chocolatiers, confectioners, and cocoa specialists in the world celebrate unique flavors and innovations every fall. Paris is usually an excellent option because of its iconic architecture, world-class museums, and delectable cuisine, to name a few. It's a city that everyone must see at least once. Visit Paris for the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre; stay for the city's quaint sidewalk cafés, outdoor markets, and stunning parks. 3. Head to a Tropical Beach Nothing screams leisure like sprawling out on a beach with a fruity cocktail in your hand and the crystal blue sea out in front of you. A leisurely trip to the tropics can be exactly what you need if you're used to holidays that are jam-packed with activities. With places like Hawaii, Tahiti, the Maldives, or of countless Caribbean islands, you can't go wrong. 4. Experience an African Safari The experience of viewing lions, giraffes, and elephants in their natural habitats is incomparable to visiting a zoo. One of those once-in-a-lifetime events that you must actually experience is an African safari. You will experience incredible animals and scenery that you won't find anywhere else on the globe while being led by a local expert. Start your vacation in one of the top-rated safari locations, such as Botswana, Kenya, Tanzania, or South Africa. 5. Take a Tour of Italy It is impossible to choose just one Italy location to check off your bucket list because of the country's diverse landscapes and rich history, including Rome, Tuscany, and the sparkling Almafi Coast. The greatest way to experience it is as a complete. Italy's train system, fortunately, makes it simple to travel the whole length of the nation. 6. See the Big Apple Nothing compares to New York City. It serves as the famous backdrop for several films and TV series and serves as a representation of a great deal of American culture. Of course, the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, and the Brooklyn Bridge are all must-see features, but what will make you fall in love with New York is its different neighborhoods, indie eateries, and hidden-gem boutiques. 7. Spot the Northern Lights A little price to pay for some wind and snow is the chance to view the Northern Lights, which involves enduring Arctic conditions. The stunning light show may be seen in places like northern Canada, Alaska, Iceland, Finland, and Norway, despite the fact that the phenomenon is notoriously hard to spot. 8. Road Trip Across the Country Even though flying is frequently the more convenient choice, a road vacation includes travel as a component of the experience. It provides you the chance to eat quickly in quaint rural towns or take photographs at tacky roadside sights en route to your destination. Additionally, you never know when you'll find a fantastic location that wasn't on your schedule. Therefore, inflate your tires, pack the car, and don't forget to bring a tonne of goodies. 9. Visit One of the Seven World Wonders The seven wonders must be included on each traveler's bucket list. Any one of these wonders is certainly worth the trek across the globe; they are among the most amazing human-built buildings ever made. Choose from the Taj Mahal, the Taj Mahal, the Great Wall of China, the Colosseum, Chichén Itzá, Christ the Redeemer, Machu Picchu, and Chichén Itzá. 10. Explore Australia Australia is a place that is genuinely unique. It has famous landmarks like the Great Barrier Reef and the Sydney Opera House, as well as a broad range of animals that are unique to this continent (think kangaroos, koalas, and wallabies). Australia provides an experience for everyone, with everything from humming cities and sandy beaches to deep jungles and alpine summits. 11. Eat Your Way Through Southeast Asia Southeast Asia, which includes nations like Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines, is unquestionably a culinary lover's dream. The area offers so many mouthwatering delicacies that it would be hard to sample them all, and it boasts some of the greatest street cuisines on the whole globe. In addition, the region is rather affordable for travel (and very well-liked among backpackers! ), making it possible to see several nations in one journey. What's next on your travel list? With so many places worth traveling to, it can be hard to narrow down your top spots to visit. Sometimes what draws us to a place are the well-known sights, delectable cuisine, and luxurious hotels, and other times it's the bragging rights that come with seeing every continent, nation, or state. Whatever your reason, we've compiled a list of 11 extraordinary journeys that include once-in-a-lifetime encounters and renowned sites that are unique to each location. What then qualifies a vacation as really transformative? One thing is certain, though: After reading this list of iconic road trips and African safaris, you'll be itching to start planning your next big journey. • Therapy motivation

SOCIETY by Anadi Gupta Therapy motivation 1 November 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Causes of depression are still being discovered, some people get this disease due to difficult conditions of life, and some without any solid reason. Still no solid physical test is available to detect depression. When you care about someone, it is very difficult to see them struggling with their mental state. And even more so when you know that they can be helped professionally. It can be very difficult to visit someone and encourage them for therapy or professional help. Misconceptions about mental health have intensified stigma in society. Even today, depression and mental illnesses are not taken seriously in our society. It is important for us to understand that this is also a type of disease that can happen to people and they need to be treated. That is why we should always talk with patience and love to people suffering from it, so that they do not feel like a burden. We should assure them that we are with them and we will help them to get out of it. Still a lot of people don’t feel comfortable to talk openly about depression. Many famous people, who are very successful in their area, become victims of depression because people usually have very high expectations from them and they feel under pressure to fulfil them. But some celebrities have came forward and talk about it and encouraged others, which is a very good step for the society. It can be hard to share personal feelings with parents, especially if you haven’t done it in a while. This can be difficult to share when you are not really sure what is going on. Sometimes parents can provide a new angle that helps you understand things. Just talking about it can help you see things from a different perspective. If depression is severe or persists, you may still need to talk to a therapist after having a good conversation with your parents. Tell your mom or dad if you continue to feel depressed. Your mother or father can make an appointment for you and support you while working with a therapist. Telling your parents about depression can be very emotionally difficult for you. You may cry, or your parents may cry. This is completely fine. Depression is a difficult subject, and you are doing the right thing by addressing it now before it gets worse. Chances are, your parents have already noticed that something is wrong. They just don’t know what it is or how to help. By naming the problem, you will help them feel better and learn how to take action. You have to choose a time when neither you nor your parents are distracted. It should be a quiet time when you can talk one-on-one, or with both of them alone. Long car rides, quiet evenings, working together, and long walks are all good subjects. If your parents are busy, ask when is a good time. Say something like “I really have something important to talk to you about. What would be a good time for us to have a private conversation?” Sometimes, parents make the mistake of not taking their children seriously about depression. Opening up about depression can be challenging, but you will definitely feel better if you try to share your feelings. Get the courage to talk to your parents about what depression is, especially when you are feeling particularly low. Talk therapy is not just “talking about your problems” It is also working towards solutions. Some therapy may include homework, such as tracking your moods, writing about your thoughts, or participating in social activities that have been a cause for concern in the past. You may be encouraged to look at things in a different way or learn new ways to react to events or people. Most of today’s therapy is brief and focuses on your current thoughts, feelings and life issues. Focusing on the past can help explain things in your life, but focusing on the present can help you face the present and prepare for the future. You may see your physician or counselor more often when you first start working with them, and later, as you progress toward your goals, you have fewer appointments. It’s just that, Never be afraid in asking for help whenever it is needed. #mentalhealthmatters #depression #Therapy #Anxiety #mentalhealthawareness SEARCH Why India is the most depressed country in the world? The Modernity Of The Fashion Sphere by Shreya Satish Jorapur The Modernity Of The Fashion Sphere 19 February 2023 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Glamour, grandeur, glory… The fashion industry encapsulates these three G’s in an intriguing way, which has gradually integrated into our persistent everyday culture too. • Love Yourself

SOCIETY by Neha Pande Love Yourself 27 July 2020 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement The 21st century has had some of the best inventions, theories, findings and the list goes on and on, but 21st century, especially 2017 and 2018, have also marked the beginning of body positivity for men and women. Now tell me how many times have you felt down thinking about your body? Thinking I’m fat or I’m too skinny or my arms are too long or my thighs need a thigh gap or maybe not. How many times have you looked into the mirror and felt sick of the way you look? But this year is the time when you leave all those worries behind and think positively about yourself and your body. Go to the gym because you want to be healthy, not skinny or eat a lot, not because you want more mass on your body, eat for yourself because it’s healthy for your body. Girls and guys at times get gloomy because of their body weight thinking “I’m getting too fat and I should probably go on a diet,” To them my answer is, No honey! No need to go on a diet! Because you look and are perfect just the way you are and let’s not forget in olden times a little bit of fat or plum was in fashion and now is coming back into fashion. The boys and girls who say “I’m too skinny, ” To them I’d like to say is that god you look beautiful and to my guy friends I’d like to say, you look handsome! I mean look at those collar bones, I want those. Beauty is subjective and it’s us who are making it objective but I’m proud of some high fashion magazines like Vogue and Elle for giving chances to models who do not fit the typical “model” standards that are tall, slim and oval shaped face models with great eyebrows. There has been a significant change in the fashion and makeup world which is embracing body positivity but there is always more scope as we still are hesitant towards it. We all should embrace ourselves and our bodies, go to the gym and exercise because it’s good for the body and eat yummy dishes because you deserve it! The best thing is nowadays we have amazing role models to look up to who talk about body positivity and how to embrace it, like Demi Lovato, Arjun Kapoor, Shane Dawson and many more who talk about how important it is to be body positive and spread body positivity. I mean if Robert Downey Jr. can be short and be the infamous Iron Man who has shaken up the movie industry. Our amazingly talented Adele can be plum and still embracing her body and rocking the stage, then we can also embrace our body and be positive about it. #BodyPositivitySelfloveLoveyourselfPositivityVogueEllePlussizeSkinnyDemiLovatoShaneDawsonRobertDowneyJuniorArjunKapoorAdeleBodylove SEARCH Why India is the most depressed country in the world? • Feminism and what its not

SOCIETY by Aparajita Jaiswal Feminism and what its not 1 June 2021 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Feminism: Why such a misunderstood word? Let us first understand what Feminism means, because in India this word is highly victimized, accused, and bullied. Feminism means prophesying equality from the point of view of a woman. Unlike the meanings that this word is given in this country, it does not promote gender inequality or tries to prove that men are in any way inferior to women. It is just equivalent to the concept of gender equality only within the viewpoint of a woman. Now, there will come questions why this viewpoint is considered from a woman’s point of view, why there isn’t a term called menism. It’s a completely healthy argument, but there is one phenomenon that the world has landed on and it still hasn’t recovered from ever since the dawn of it. The phenomenon is nothing but the most crucial of the societal construct that our ancestors instilled in our minds, called Patriarchy. This term means to have a societal construct completely dominated, ruled, and exorcised by men. that women are the second citizens, unturned and incapable of making any decision even for themselves. This particular thing has led to centuries of oppression of women. Women were the ones who had to take a step back to follow the path of a man. A mother sacrificed her needs, her interests to raise a son, a wife left her family and comfort to foster a man to build his empire. There was an eternity-long sacrifice that women adsorbed, absorbed, and digested to make a man what he is today. This makes a man privileged and a privileged person’s point of view can diminish the idea of Equality. There are no shaming men here, it’s just that it is hard to give up the privileges. If you are the decision-maker of what ice cream to eat in your ice cream shop, you can obviously pick your favorite, but an outsider will ask about the availability of that ice cream. It is the same way in the world, a woman is not granted all she wants but a man can take anything he wants as granted. A man can wear whatever he wants, roam whenever and wherever he wants, have any type of friend circle as he wishes, etc. But, at each step of the way a woman has to climb a bigger mountain to enjoy those same mundane things that a man is freely doing. And thus, there is a need to look at what woman’s needs are and how we can address them to match at the same level as men. Hence, we are viewing this equality concept from the eyes of a woman. But, sadly this concept is pathologically broken into pieces in Indian society. Indian society thinks that feminism is the chivalry of women as a way to seek attention, as a way to disrespect their religion, and most importantly as a way to demean men. In reality, it boosts women to actually understand the viewpoint of men, to understand the struggles that men face. The point of feminism is never chivalry but peace and a sense of responsibility, credibility, but we have made it such chaos that there are no bounds to it. As in every construct, here also the reason that such misunderstanding of the terminology is due to unawareness of knowledge or its lack thereof. The concept of lacking this knowledge is in rural parts that have brought themselves up in a highly conservative stature. The unawareness on the other hand is the bigger evil that spurs out of educated, civilized people who pass any comment bashing the male gender in the banner of feminism. Feminism is not threatening a man with sexual harassment lawsuit or mocking when a man gets in trouble. Feminism is in understanding that both women and men have their flaws and quirks. That both genders need equal rights, support, and law to reach a point of ethical correctness. Feminism is upholding the banner that we all are humans and we all need the same things. Feminism is understanding one another, in a way it prompts gender sensitization. It is all that word equality resonates with its every alphabet. One thing is to be understood that the ladder is for the oppressed to climb to the same pedestal as the privileged not to raise one above another. • Lana Scolaro: Breaking Barriers In The Male-Dominated Music Industry

Lana Scolaro: Breaking Barriers In The Male-Dominated Music Industry by Anushka Sharma Lana Scolaro: Breaking Barriers In The Male-Dominated Music Industry 2 March 2023 COVER STORIES Advertisement Lana Scolaro, a rising star in the electronic music scene, has been breaking barriers in the male-dominated industry since she first stepped behind the decks. Hailing from Ibiza, the birthplace of electronic music, Lana's passion for music began at a young age. She played the cello and keyboard and was surrounded by DJs and music every summer. This exposure sparked her interest in pursuing a career as a DJ. In an industry where men dominate the scene, Lana faced some challenges as a female DJ. Some venues and people did not take her seriously due to her ultra-feminine style and look. However, Lana did not let this deter her from achieving her dreams. She persevered, constantly producing music, and releasing at least one song a month. She also participated in podcasts, interviews, and radio shows, always looking for new sounds to keep her relevant in the industry. As an artist, Lana has a unique vision that she balances with the demands of the music industry and her fans. Currently, she is incorporating her creative vision in the digital metaverse, where she has created her own dream house that is already in the NFT Oasis. This way, her music can be displayed, and fans can watch her in concert in the digital world. Lana is continuously evolving, and her creative vision is evident in her work. Throughout her career, Lana has been influenced by several artists, including Solomun, Santiago Garcia, Rami Bedouin, and Luciano, whom she watched perform in Ibiza. However, Gwen Stefani is the artist she looks up to the most. She adores Gwen Stefani's music, and she loves her style. Lana relates to the emotions that go into Gwen Stefani's songs and finds her inspiring. Apart from music, Lana loves painting and producing short animation projects. If not a DJ, she would have chosen to be an actress or a painter. When asked about her advice to aspiring female DJs, she encourages them to keep practicing and mixing on CDJs. She also advises them to put their music out on SoundCloud, YouTube, and every platform possible to be heard. Showcasing your music and getting feedback from fans is crucial to success. Touring and traveling can be challenging, but Lana manages to balance her personal and professional life with four phones. One of her most memorable performances was at the Texas Road to Nowhere Festival. It was her first time in Texas, and she was not supposed to play, but her good friend Chanel West Coast put her on stage and let her perform her single "Rick Ross." Lana envisions the future of the music industry as a digital metaverse, where people can watch her DJ in the virtual world. Her current and future projects include collaborating with brands in the fashion industry, producing a unique track with a male artist, and working on a new collection for her jewelry line LS Diamonds. With her drive, creativity, and passion for music, Lana Scolaro is sure to make waves in the industry and continue breaking barriers for female DJs.
