  • New York Fashion Week Fall Collection

New York Fashion Week Fall Collection by Akash Khatri New York Fashion Week Fall Collection 1 January 2021 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement New York Fashion Week is one of the “Big 4” fashion weeks in the world and is held semi-annually each year in February and September. This year all the live shows struggled to follow their conventional path due to pandemics, New York fashion week was no exception either and for months fashion designers struggled to cope with the “new normal” but definitely came up with some amazing collection. As pandemic has changed the trend of fashion to some extent and with most of the people working from home, the New York fashion week showcased the basic yet chic versions of the clothing rather than going all hunky-dory and glittery. The main cause taken up by most of the fashion designers was “Sustainable fashion” that would protect our environment and in times of such crisis like we are in 2020, giving attention to the environment and global warming is essential. One off-putting thing that the New York fashion week missed is to witness a few of the famous designers participating in New York fashion week’s fall collection. Although looking at the brighter side, the absence of few famous and well-known designers created room for the new and younger designers to shine through. Few names that won heart in the New York Fashion Week fall collection of 2020 are: Marc Jacobs: He highlighted more of the basics in an old school way. A-line coats and Mini shift dresses were the major highlights from his collection. Marina Moscone: She is known for her minimalistic styling. However, she surprised everyone in the fall collection and came up with some sexy options for the evening, some suits, and even used leopard prints for gowns. Prabal Gurung: He expressed his New York fall collection as a love letter to the city which deeply is fascinated about fashion and colours. He showcased the love for glamour meticulously via suits to gowns to jackets. Khaite: She presented her collection as a tale of two women from two different worlds which blended so perfectly and did not even urge us to choose a side either. Such diligently worked collection. There were far too many talented designers who gave everyone major fashion goals and showed how fashion would probably look like in the coming year. Hope you guys have taken note of how suits, A-line dresses, and animal prints and evening gowns won heart at the fall collection in New York fashion week and would keep your wardrobe updated accordingly. • Vision V In Dubai: Mercedes Brings A Lounge To A Knife Fight

Vision V In Dubai: Mercedes Brings A Lounge To A Knife Fight By Shriniwas Kodape Vision V In Dubai: Mercedes Brings A Lounge To A Knife Fight 3 June 2025 LIFESTYLE Advertisement You don’t come to Dubai looking for subtlety. You come for the heat. For the excess. For the skyline that looks like it was sketched by someone who overdosed on ambition. So it makes sense that Mercedes-Benz picked this place—this surreal, golden desert metropolis—for the first international stop of its Vision V roadshow. After dropping jaws in Shanghai, the brand’s latest luxury experiment has touched down in a city that measures status by the inch of chrome and the volume of horsepower. And yet, the Vision V doesn’t roar. It glides. It whispers. It doesn’t beg for attention—it expects it. This isn’t your uncle’s Mercedes van. Hell, it’s not even a van. It’s a mobile philosophy wrapped in polished metal and mood lighting. It’s what happens when the Germans decide that chauffeured comfort is an art form. Think of it as the rolling love child of a Maybach, a Soho House, and a Bond villain’s escape pod. Only with better Wi-Fi. Mercedes calls it a preview of the upcoming VLS—part of their new modular Van Architecture , which sounds like something from a sci-fi manifesto. It officially drops in 2026, promising to separate commercial workhorses from what they call “Grand Limousines.” A polite way of saying: “We’re not building people movers anymore. We’re building temples.” And the Vision V ? She’s the high priestess. You step inside, and everything gets quieter. The glass, the light, the leather—it’s not luxury for Instagram. It’s for people who think privacy is sexier than popularity. The rear seats recline like first-class pods. Ambient lighting breathes. There’s a whisper of digital screens, curated just enough to impress but not overwhelm. It doesn’t feel like a car. It feels like a decision . You can almost hear the pitch to the boardroom: “Let’s build a lounge for the road. Let’s design a sanctuary for the terminally mobile. Let’s give billionaires a reason not to fly.” And damn if they didn’t deliver. Because this isn’t for your average tycoon. It’s for the operator. The shadow figure. The client who doesn’t do backseats unless they come with champagne chillers and carbon-neutral trim. But the brilliance here isn’t just in the aesthetics—it’s in what it says without saying it. The Vision V doesn’t scream, “Look at me.” It murmurs, “You’re lucky to be near me.” It’s cool in that old-school, Savile Row kind of way. Understated until it decides not to be. And here, in Dubai, that silence feels loud. On roads clogged with Lamborghinis and G-Wagons , the Vision V doesn’t compete. It floats above. You can picture it gliding through Jumeirah, past the gold-plated espresso machines and Rolls-Royce showrooms, toward a marina full of yachts that haven’t moved in years. This car knows its audience. It’s for the private-jet set who’s exhausted by private jets. For those who don’t need speed—they need silence. Space. Control. It’s not about getting there faster. It’s about getting there... better . And Mercedes, as always, is playing a long game. With this new Van Architecture platform, they’re splitting their lineup. One path leads to smart, utilitarian haulers for commerce and logistics. The other leads here: to the VLE for premium shuttles, and the VLS for this new species of luxury living room on wheels. The lines between car, office, and retreat are disappearing. Mercedes gets that. The Vision V is a bet on that vanishing point—on the new elite who want their power quieter, their wealth less ostentatious, their mobility more mindful. Will it work? Who knows. Maybe. Maybe not. But one thing’s for sure—this isn’t just a press release on wheels. It’s a cultural artifact. A reflection of what we want when we can have anything. Dubai understands that logic. Better than most. In a city that lives in the future, the Vision V already feels like part of the landscape. Like it belongs. Not just in the valet lane outside a five-star hotel, but somewhere deeper—where comfort becomes ritual, and travel becomes ceremony. It’s not a ride. It’s the mood. And if this is the future of movement—quiet, curated, a little mysterious—then maybe, just maybe, we’re finally moving in the right direction. • Elegance is Everything: How Korean Fashion Has Swept The World

Elegance is Everything: How Korean Fashion Has Swept The World by Rupashree Ravi Elegance is Everything: How Korean Fashion Has Swept The World 1 August 2022 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement It is no doubt that elegant, comfortable and classy fashion has become the go-to choice for this young and booming generation. Young adults’ interest and fascination towards growing popular cultures are reflected in their music, food, and fashion choices, to name a few. With the Hallyu wave taking over the world by storm, where Korean cultural practices are gaining popularity and increased overseas attention, K-fashion has found itself a loyal and global fanbase. It has become an international phenomenon that has paved its way into the Indian market too. Simply put, K-fashion or Korean fashion is inspired by the global love for K-pop and K-dramas, which at the moment, appears to be at an all-time high in India. It is a fusion of modern fashion with a tweak of conservative style and is quickly becoming a strong fashion statement all across the world. K-fashion, with its Less is More attitude sets its clothing apart from other fashion trends. From baggy pants, and oversized tops to trench coats and tote bags, K-fashion has got you all covered. This is because the sense of style is an aesthetic that is delicate, yet quite distinctive compared to other cultures. It doesn’t scream, rather it is simple yet minimal and classy. Korean boy band BTS has revolutionized the fashion scene in the country. Whether it is the basic colour palettes of muted and pastel colours like beige and grey, Koreans will flaunt their elegance as they go for a formal yet casual style. High-waisted pants and a luxurious blouse complemented with high heels is the most sought-after look for Korean women. Such an outfit is classy and professional at the same time. They wear blazers with sneakers and still look sophisticated, having an element of intricacy. Korean fashion aesthetics are built around one or two prints, instead of vibrant and energetic colours, which are considered to be less fashionable. Some of their iconic trends are slacks, high waist palazzo pants, denim, miniskirts, jumpsuits, suspenders, polo shirts, straight-cut jeans, padded jackets, and playsuits. “Thanks to its vibrant hues and bold colour combinations, Korean fashion has become a living example of how different clothing styles can suit every taste.” Shin Min-a’s fashion in the hit K-drama, Hometown Cha Cha Cha Son Ye-Jin sporting a classy look in Crash Landing On You A major distinction from western fashion is how Koreans reveal their skin. Since showing off skin is not very common in their culture, they choose a part to flaunt while covering up the rest. For instance, if they wear a pair of shorts, they complement it with an elegant blouse for a formal look. Knee or thigh-high long socks are also very common with dresses. Moreover, their use of accessories like handbags and jewellery. Hair accessories like berets, face caps, hairpins and clips complement beautiful hairstyles by adding a unique and personal touch. Even Korean men flaunt these accessories and completely rock their look. K-pop idols Hongjoong, Kai and G-Dragon are well-known for their iconic fashion statements. This fashion trend, thus, stimulates a graceful aura that is discreet and focused on utmost comfort. K-fashion is a major source of inspiration in the fashion world. The trend has just taken off in India as we see a high demand for these clothing styles. However, with rising popularity and interest in Korean culture and fashion, the best of the Hallyu wave is yet to come. #K -fashion #KoreanFashion #BTS #Hallyu #KoreanWave SEARCH Why does Fashion Need Fashion Shows FASHION From Dreams To Crowns: Anuradha Garg’s Inspiring Mrs. India Story FASHION Colour Psychology in Fashion: Explained FASHION Legendary Female Icons Who Made Fashion Statements In The 20th Century FASHION The House of Chanel: History FASHION POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Shriniwas Kodape The Snake That Wore Red: Inside The Vision Cultured™ Revolution 19 October 2025 FASHION By Sakshi Shah Francesca Bellettini Ushers In Gucci’s New Dawn 19 September 2025 FASHION By Shriniwas Kodape Dibba Studio: Weaving The Future Of Fashion At Thailand Fashion Week AW25-26 2 September 2025 FASHION By Shriniwas Kodape Aksstagga: Threads That Whisper Love, Memory, And Eternity 21 August 2025 FASHION RELATED POSTS Advertisement

  • Fashion Pieces That Will Never Go Out Of Style

Fashion Pieces That Will Never Go Out Of Style by Priti Sharma Fashion Pieces That Will Never Go Out Of Style 6 November 2022 FASHION Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Our sense of style is quite individual to us; it's a fantastic and special method to showcase our personalities while being at ease and making a significant statement about who we are. However, maintaining a current wardrobe and feeling great in our outfits may be challenging in our ever-evolving society and trends. Yes, being current with fashion trends will keep you current, but every genuine fashionista understands that you must invest in a few timeless pieces if you want to stay in style. If you want to seem effortlessly put together, making purchases of wardrobe essentials is the way to go. Fear not, though; despite the constant influx of new fashion fads, there are a few timeless essentials that we can always rely on, no matter what the most recent trend may be. In addition to being fashionable, these kinds of clothes will make your outfits seem to be put together and prevent you from making impulsive purchases. Do you have any upcoming shopping or wardrobe updates? Here are a few timeless pieces of clothes that will always be in fashion: Black Skinny Jeans I am aware that Gen Z is at war with thin jeans. Mom jeans are also a great way to switch up your look. But nothing can match or take the place of a black pair of slim jeans for a timeless, polished appearance. They won't take attention away from your gorgeous face while still giving every body shape a wonderful, feminine silhouette. Dark skinnies have the advantage of being both dressy when paired with a lovely top and shoes and informal when worn with a tee and sneakers. Your trusty black skinny jeans will never fail you. Classic Heels One heel never goes out of style: the traditional pump. Other heels, such as strappy, clunky, lace-up, or platform heels, come and go. Sometimes all you need is a pair of timeless shoes to instantly dress up an ensemble. They instantly give us a bit more height, lengthen our legs, and are easy to put on and take off. Simple heels are always a good choice, whether you're wearing them with jeans, a pencil skirt, a pantsuit, or a fancy dress. A White V-Neck Tee Hear us out: Although this might sound simple (or perhaps too simple), we've discovered that less is frequently more when it comes to long-lasting wardrobe necessities. A white t-shirt can be worn with anything; you can dress it up by tucking it into a long skirt or be cool and casual by letting it dangle from your favorite shorts. White t-shirts aren't spectacular, but they're always a nice option and let other pieces stand out while serving as a wonderful foundation. A Little Black Dress The current flowery maxi dress trend that we see streaming across our feeds is easy to get sucked into and fascinated with, but the little black dress has never stopped being a timeless option that gives its user a feeling of mystery, elegance, and timelessness. Knowing you have an excellent choice for practically every event in your go-to LBD will always make those difficult selections simpler. A Chunky Pullover Sweater If you're going to remain warm, at least do it stylishly! Chunky sweaters are basic, uncomplicated garments that will always make us feel both put-together and appropriate for the season, from the moment the fall leaves start to change until the spring temperatures start to rise. A bulky sweater may look good whether you tuck it into a skirt and wear knee-high boots with it or wear it with your favorite pair of jeans. A Leather Jacket Thanks to leather jackets, even the most basic outfits may be spiced up in less than ten seconds. Additionally, the leather jacket looks great with nearly everything and there is a tonne of faux-leather alternatives available that feel much like genuine leather. Wear it to liven up an otherwise too plain ensemble of jeans and a t-shirt or pair it with a flowery, feminine dress to add some edge to your appearance. A Pea Coat Even though we have to bundle up during the colder months, we still want to appear stylish, right? Thankfully, there are several jackets available to select from, but the pea coat is unrivaled in terms of fashion and practicality. This coat matches any outfit, will never go out of style, gives you a classy look, and will genuinely keep you warm. It comes in an amazingly broad selection of colors (try red if you're feeling brave!). Changing fashion trends are possible. Yet, timeless clothing never goes out of style. It's always a good idea to invest in classic pieces of clothes since they make it easier for you to seem put together and well dressed. Just be careful to choose items that complement your body type and style preferences. #Fashion #Style #NeverGoOutOfStyle #LittleBlackDress #WhiteVneckTshirt #ClassicHeels #LeatherJacket SEARCH Why does Fashion Need Fashion Shows FASHION From Dreams To Crowns: Anuradha Garg’s Inspiring Mrs.

  • The Pygmalion Effect

SOCIETY by Akshaya Chandar The Pygmalion Effect 6 August 2022 SOCIETY Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Not many may know - the ancient Greek mythological tale of Pygmalion, has been a source of inspiration for more than a hundred works of literature, and about fifty films and plays. To refresh, Pygmalion was the prince of Cyprus and was a great sculptor. He creates an ivory statue of a woman so passionately that he gets obsessed with it. He prays to god for the statue to come alive and the God grants him the same! The Pygmalion is one of the most famous plays by George Bernard Shaw. The wisdom passed down to generations that a strong will can induce life even in a rock. George Bernard Shaw put the same prophecy in the play, and it was also created in the musical composition 'My Fair Lady'. Today we refer to the concept, that a person will achieve or perform as he is expected to perform as "The Pygmalion Effect". The main idea concerning The Pygmalion Effect is that if you believe that someone is capable of achieving greatness then that person will indeed achieve greatness. In other words, believing in potential simply creates potential. "The Pygmalion Effect" may occur all around us-whether it be at work, at schools or even at home. Closer home, the tour of Akshardham Temple at Delhi starts with the same concept of a rock turning into a human, with the qualities that the sculptor sees in it. Here at school, we the parents and teachers can create better students, scholars and pupils just by believing in the fact that they are the best. Let that be in behavior, academics, social conduct or any such attribute. This is truer, when working with underachievers. All it takes is, really believing in this fact. If we relate this closely, for instance, you tell a new teacher in a school - who has no previous experience with her new to be students, that a particular student of hers is extremely bright and clever. The new teacher will automatically be more supportive, more encouraging, teach more challenging material, be patient and allow that student more time to answer questions. The main concern is that this new teacher entirely believes that this student is bright and clever, and so is the converse for which we should be more careful. If I co-relate this with my young friends, I would say-just start communicating with yourself and others, with strengths and qualities, or skills and talents. You must start focusing on all that is positive and dismiss everything that is negative. Believe in yourself and others and you will give yourself the power to change lives. Every human, including you, has strengths, qualities, attributes, talents and skills. Use it for your best advantage. If the famous octopus Paul could create history in World Cup Football by his predictions, should we talk more for humans. Treat a man as he is and he will remain as he is. Treat a man as he can and should be and he will become as he can and should be. #PygmalionEffect #Cyprus #Sculptor #GeorgeBernardShaw #Myfairlady #Greek SEARCH Why India is the most depressed country in the world? Cancel Culture by Akash Khatri Cancel Culture 1 November 2020 LIFESTYLE Advertisement Cancel culture, a social media phenomenon where active social media users seek to remove the clout of a celebrity who says or does something offensive by ‘cancelling’ them. Basically, the ‘cancel’ here means to cancel out or end a person’s career in reaction to his or her unacceptable behaviour or action. For instance, if there is a celebrity or any public figure who makes a misogynistic, racist, casteist, or sexist statement or commits an act of sexual crime, there could be calls to boycott the actor’s films and other works, exile him or her from all public events and disconnect the person from all the social alliances. As a result, the person is ‘cancelled’ culturally, socially, economically and politically. There are two types of cancel culture, first one a call-out culture. Here, the responsible individual is mortified publicly on social media for his or her statements and the resulting outcry hold them accountable for their fallacy. The second variant is more serious. Here, the celebrity is called out on social media and a larger mass boycotts his or her products or services, eventually bringing a full stop to their careers. Most of the times it gets much wider and substantial or controversial but the immense recognition cancel culture enjoys, especially among teenagers and young adults, makes it one of the most controlling movements in recent times. One of the main critiques of cancel culture is that it’s making people more bigoted, quick to judge and banish those who even slightly disagree with them. Cancel culture doesn’t leave any room for constructive discourse because social media users often deliver a quick decision, based on a snap judgment, to a celebrity they view as offensive — leaving no opportunity for them to put forward their explanation on their act and make their case against their own ‘cancellation.’ But people tend to forget — whether a celebrity is canceled or not, it is up to the celebrity themself, not on those wanting to cancel them. Though targeting someone will not just affect them, but their mental health and the livelihood of many related to them, and that’s not just. However, ending someone’s career completely is easier said than done. Not many entities have had their careers completely shut down due to the negative views on the internet. Actor and activist Jameela Jamil, has said that this phenomenon is a “pointless waste of time.” But, then again, the term is utilsed among so many, that to figure out if the phenomenon is negative or positive have been made indistinct. The principal questions are: Has social media simply given another name to something that is going to exist for a lifetime? Does this phenomenon really exist when cancelling someone doesn’t mostly work forever? Does the idea of being cancelled stop awful content? Or is it just another trend that is being followed blindly?
