- Cloud Kitchens are the new buzz
by Rupashree Ravi Cloud Kitchens are the new buzz 14 August 2022 FOOD Advertisement Advertisement The future of cloud kitchens looks promising and brighter than ever. In the last two decades, we have seen people dining out more often for a change from home-cooked meals. But in recent times, there’s been a gradual shift to ordering food at home and an increase in take-out options. Moreover, the Covid-19 pandemic changed the complete economics of food and restaurant businesses. While dine-in trends will continue to exist, the industry is focusing a lot more on food deliveries. With just three ingredients – a great menu, a kitchen space, and smart packaging, you can create and run a successful cloud kitchen. Its simplicity and low-cost model have pushed hundreds of people over the last two years to jump onto the bandwagon. The domestic cloud kitchens market is expected to grow from $400 million in 2019 to $2 billion by 2024. Cloud kitchens are leading from the front to bring about this change. But what exactly are cloud kitchens? Unlike brick-and-mortar restaurants, cloud kitchens don’t have a dine-in facility. They take orders via apps, in-house or through delivery partners like Swiggy and Zomato and operate single or multiple food brands. A booming cloud kitchen in Delhi The perfect recipe to run a successful cloud kitchen is by selling an amazing food product. Cloud kitchens are popular because of the food they offer. Unlike a restaurant with a great dining experience where people go for the service and ambience, a cloud kitchen’s only value is its food. So, the food on the menu is the most important ingredient of a cloud kitchen, and not working on the product well enough and creating a good menu will most certainly not work. Cloud kitchen owners should work on their food to make it stand out. They should master the recipe and find a niche over their competitors. Cloud kitchen rely on their delivery and take-out format For cloud kitchens to be able to sustain, they need to keep their costs low. They must be careful not to spend too much money on packaging. The cost of packaging for cloud kitchens should not be more than 5 per cent of total expenses. Kitchen experts suggest that the cost of goods sold should ideally be around 25 per cent of total costs. Although food packaging is one of the most important parts of a cloud kitchen, one has to ensure that the packaging ensures safe travel of the food from the kitchen to the consumer, while also offering hygiene and taste. Packaging is also a great way to market your cloud kitchen The biggest mistake that cloud kitchens do is operating 6-7 brands from one location. When there are 10 different cuisines in one kitchen, the manpower has to be trained specifically. The equipment used for one cuisine might not work for the other. That’s why a lot of cloud kitchens have a problem making money. Being particular about locations can be a bad decision as Profitable cloud kitchens can flourish even in tier 2 cities more than in fancy urban hubs. So, what’s fuelling this growth in cloud kitchens? In India, a person on an average orders 6-7 meals per month at home, which is far lower than the global average of 16 orders a month. Hence, the scope to expand this segment is huge and it is important that those looking to start a successful venture or business capitalise on this opportunity. Kian Barazandeh: Inspiring confidence with his awesomeness and positive energy By Aadhya Venkatesh Kian Barazandeh: Inspiring confidence with his awesomeness and positive energy 30 July 2022 COVER STORIES Advertisement Actor and Model Kian Barazandeh ventured into acting and modelling without intending to do so. “I was scouted over one-decade ago by a daring agent that believes in my talent and the look,” said Kian. Within a few years, Kian achieved heights that most models dream of. He was named IMTA’s “Model of the Year” and won some of the most significant modelling partnerships in the world. He aims to be the Ultimate Super-model and is motivated by the fear of being average. “All my life, I have dared to go beyond the possible,” he said. Kian wishes to blur the boundaries between the impossible and what is possible and has coined the term #possimpossible . Kian’s favourite collaboration was with Fashion Magazine NYC. Being selected as the face of Fashion Magazine NYC was a Himalayan achievement for the actor/model. Being selected was a fruit of his hard work and was a massive milestone in his career. Having worked with many high-profile luxury brands, Kian uses various model/photographer-finding websites to gain skills and experiences. He has collaborated with multiple luxury brands such as Bentley, Vertu, Chopard, 209 Mare, Rachini, and Dolce & Gabbana, amongst many others. He was selected as the style influencer for Dolce & Gabbana. “Think of Dolce & Gabbana, and you think of sunny Sicily, small Italian villages, big Italian families and big designs,” he said. D&G is one of Kian’s favourite designers, and draws a lot of his fashion inspiration from the brand. “Part of your brand is how you present yourself, including fashion.” Kian believes that playing with shapes helps one stand out as most pants and dressed come in standard styles. Kian was scouted by one of the biggest fashion modelling agencies, Independent Management, based in Milan, Italy. Independent Management now represents him as both an agency and a mother agency. Because of his job, Kian works in both Europe and Dubai. “If I have to choose one, I will choose Europe and Milan, Italy over UAE,” he said. He chooses Milan because it is one of the top fashion cities in the world. Milan also is a significant breakthrough market for many new models, and a successful stint there has benefitted many models throughout their careers. It is “a relatively inexpensive city with a wonderful culture, amazing food, and warm people.” When asked about a fashion ritual, Kian said that he always makes sure to bring essentials. These include nude undergarments. “I believe a model appearance: skin, Hair and... always must be photoshoot ready. This means the magic happens in your daily life and lifestyle routine.” He believes consistency is the most important component while working towards your goals. It helps you adapt and form habits faster. Kian deems motivation to be a driving force towards action. “You are going to be different tomorrow. Stop feeling stuck. - Wine Tasting Is An Art
by Akash Khatri Wine Tasting Is An Art 7 July 2022 FOOD Advertisement Advertisement “Wine gets better with age & I get better with wine” if this phrase sounds familiar then this article is for you. In case you are a wine-lover, I do not need to explain you the types of wine available out there and surely the concept of “wine tasting” is not new to you. But did you know about the 5 S’s of wine tasting? If yes, great! If not, then you must not leave this article as this article is going to talk exactly about it. Wine tasting is nothing less than an art and there are precise and well defined steps for the same. Let us jump directly to these 5 “S” of wine tasting: See: Well, I am sure you have been fascinated about the different colors of wine available in the market. So the very first step is all about seeing through the wine and this is a very important step while tasting wine. The color should be examined well while tasting wine and for this very reason most of the times the wine is served in a room which is having white background. The color will give you a clue about the variety of grapes used and the age of the wine. Experts suggest taking your wine in “stemmed wine glass”. Do not forget to tilt the glass against the white background to see the true color of the wine. Swirl: Taking the wine poured glasses and then slightly twisting it in the air definitely looks very fancy. But do you know why this step is so important? Because while swirling, the wine gets the required amount of oxygen to “open up, as in the aroma of the wine starts to hit your olfactory senses. This step helps wine to absorb oxygen and oxygen helps wine to break down and eventually softens which is a good thing! Sniff: Now that from your previous step you could unleash the aroma of the wine, it’s important to take a good note of the same. For that you need to sniff the wine and let the aroma sink in your nostrils to enable you to understand the sources of the fine wine that you are about to taste! Sip: Now that you have got yourself accustomed with the aroma, it’s important for you to take a good sip of the lovely wine from your stemmed wine glass. Take a good sip and whirl it around in your mouth for like 4-5 seconds before gulping it down. Try and understand if you can evaluate any distinct taste. Savor: This is kind of an after-taste experience. Once you have gulped down a few sips of the wine in question, try and examine for how long the taste stays in your mouth. Whether you experienced any particular dominating taste or it was well balanced. Experts say if the after-taste lingers over 20 minutes in your mouth then my friend you have experience an exceptionally good wine! Now that you know the steps well for tasting wine please go and grab yourself a place in one of the wine-tasting tours! Cheers! #art #sip #redwine #swirl #wine SEARCH How was Chocolate Born FOOD Virgin Territory: These non-alcoholic thirst quenchers are mixologist approved FOOD Tasting the sunny side of Christmas: Christmas Cocktails FOOD 5 Destinations You Must Head to Taste Wine in India FOOD Breakfast – Don’t miss! - Changes in Fashion
Changes in Fashion by Neha Pande Changes in Fashion 27 July 2020 FASHION Advertisement In the start of the 90’s or before no one would have thought that black women or brown could be on the cover of a magazine like Vogue or a plus size woman would be a leading role model or on the cover of 100’s of billboard but in today’s world it is quite common to have a beautiful black lady gracing the cover of huge magazines or a plus size woman on the billboards of Times Square. When someone like Beverly Johnson, the first Black model to come out on the cover of Vogue in the 1970’s, made it, it was a big deal for everyone. When Ashley Graham, the first plus size model, came on the cover of Vogue in 2015, it took the industry by storm. From then till now the fashion industry has been evolving and changing for the better, it has started to be more inclusive of all, be it different races, sizes, genders or people with skin disorders. The barriers of Fashion have been changing since the humans learnt what Fashion is. In Greece and Rome, plus sized women were termed as goddesses in the 18th Century which later changed to slim and fit women termed as gorgeous. From the corseted waists and large ball gowns of the European Empire to the loose and free flowing bohemian fashion of the 1960’s, all were significant landmarks in the fashion Industry. The 1940’s was the era when World War II was at its peak, men were at the War Zone while women were at work. This era was the era of women wearing boxer pants with buttoned up shirts and padded shoulder blazers. This fashion statement was because women wanted to get into the working arena and they wore more male oriented clothes to show it. The 1950’s ended the world war with all men back into the workforce and women being oppressed back into housework. The fashion of the era was ultra-feminine with a lot of fit and flare which was the brainchild of Christian Dior who introduced fit and flare, slim shoulders unlike the 1940’s, narrow waist and full skirt which was inspired by the Victorian era. The 1960’s was a combined era of Hippie and Bohemian fashion with Spacy and futuristic fashion going neck to neck. The 1960’s was the start of the Northern Cali Hippie Movement with freedom to the extreme. This era had narcotics, drugs, alcohol and prostitution at its peak and it showed in their fashion with free-flowing dresses and bright colours. This era also gave birth to the famous singer and fashion icon Bob Marley. The 1970’s was the era of futuristic fashion which was due to NASA and its moon launch. This era introduced latex to the fashion industry and the fashion here was tight latex skirts or fitted bodycons with a futuristic vibe. It was also the era of Rock and Roll which gave birth to famous bands like Sex Pistols, The Ramous and the Clash and stars like Jimmy Hendrix. This era was also the Disco era which had vibrant and glittery colours contrasting to the Dark colours of the Rock and Roll. The 1980’s was the era of female empowerment and women getting into the workforce, the change in workforce demographics was huge as it showed the significant change and increase of women into various male dominated work fields. The working women of the era wore well fitted pants or pencil skirts with blazers and shirts. This era also gave birth to acid washed and ripped denim. The 1990’s was the era of sports wear like track pants, tank tops, platform sneakers and sporty tops which were rocked by famous people like Sporty Spice of the Spice Girls and Britney Spears. The 2000’s or our era is the era of amalgamation of all fashion from fit and flare of the 50’s to the funky fashion of the 70’s we have it all. We also are creating our own fashion like using matte colours in fashion with no makeup drives. Fashion is a reflection of society, it is not just merely looking pretty, it is much more than that. It is our history and our reflection as beings. From long leaves used as clothing by our early ancestors to the matte fashion of today it is all a part of our history and life. #FashionVogueWomenEraIndustrySkirtIcon SEARCH The Rich Heritage of Indian Handloom FASHION Fashion In The 19th Century FASHION Colour Psychology in Fashion: Explained FASHION The Influence Of Kanye West On Fashion FASHION K-Pop Fashion And Its Impact On Global Wardrobe FASHION POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Shriniwas Kodape AiSPi Wanderlust Diaries: Marzook, L’Afshar, And A Fashion Bender In Mumbai 25 April 2025 FASHION By Anushka Uniyal Kiyaan Silver: Timeless Jewellery For Every Woman 27 March 2025 FASHION By Sakshi Batra The Shoe Faktory Success Story: Ishpreet Singh Gujral’s Bold Business Leap 27 March 2025 FASHION By Sakshi Batra From Reality TV To Real Success: Nibedita Paal’s Inspiring Story 27 March 2025 FASHION RELATED POSTS

- The Rich Heritage of Indian Handloom
The Rich Heritage of Indian Handloom by Yashi Srivastava The Rich Heritage of Indian Handloom 15 December 2022 FASHION Advertisement India is a land of traditions that go thousands of years back. From Ayurveda to Yoga and festivals, even buttons, exhibit Her glorious culture, and a splendour that my country really is! Amongst the many spectacular factors that help India stand out from the western countries is the way Indians dressed – back in time. So, when we talk about Indian attire, there is no way that we wouldn’t talk about the exuberance that flow from the oldest Indian fabric used for weaving attires – handloom! Before the Britishers took over our beautiful country, Indians wore attired made only from handloom fabric. So, yes, the history and heritage of Indian handloom goes way back in time and in this article, we shall throw some light on the rich history of Indian handloom. What is handloom? Handloom was originally a variety of wooden frames used by artisans to weave fabrics out of them. The fabrics usually came from natural fibre including cotton, wool, jute, silk, etc. The procedure involved spinning the yarn followed by coloring to weaving the fabric on the loom – the final product came to be known as handloom. The history of Indian handloom – Early Days The history of Indian handloom takes us back to the Indus Valley civilization, when the first evidence of the fabric came up. Ancient India was the only producer of raw cotton and even exported the same to other countries, including Rome, China, and European nations. In fact, back in the time, every village in the country has its own weavers who spent hours in making attires like saree and dhoti to fulfil the clothing needs of the villagers. The beauty of the time was that the Indian handloom, in its beginning, was the purest material and the same showed when people wore it. The history of Indian handloom – The Gandhian Era Even though India enjoyed a golden phase of handloom heritage, its popularity went down once British took over the country. In order to increase the consumption and production of the yarn, Britishers used violence and coercion on the workers and weavers. The machine-made imported yarn made it difficult for the poor workers to keep up with the production, and thus, led to the downfall of the fabric. Most workers started working for the middlemen and traders, and the authenticity of Indian handloom shook to the core. However, during the Gandhian era, the age of handlooms was revived through Swadeshi Movement, where Mahatma Gandhi re-introduced the spinning wheel or ‘charkha’ to continue the production of khadi products. Since every Indian was involved in spinning the ‘charkha,’ the economy of the country saw a massive upgrade! People burnt the imported clothes and wore khadi everywhere, which even led to closing of mills in Manchester. The history of Indian handloom – Post Independence Even after India earned Her independence, textile industry continued to bloom and different weaving styles and fabrics were introduced. Even though, handloom didn’t rise exactly as high as it did before British colonisation, it was still widely used. The beauty of Indian handloom today Today, the cost of natural fibre is blowing by leaps and bounds because most people are not interested in buying the same these days. Most Indians prefer cheaper fabric and don’t really connect with the rich heritage of Indian handlooms. Khadi products, today, have a high cost, in comparison to other materials, and thus, not many regular people in India can afford to buy the fabric. Even so, the beauty of Indian handloom is unmatchable and still boasts of rich tradition and glorious past of our country. Even though the original Indian handloom cannot compete with the poly-mixed products that are way cheaper, the timelessness of handloom will always carry the hard work and skills of Indian craftsman from the past. Conclusion It is all right to say that the popularity of Indian handloom is only vanishing since the time we earned independence. The beautiful handloom deserves a place in the present as much as it did in the past. So, let’s work our bit to bring the true Indian attire back into business. Blob - The beauty of Indian handloom is such that goes back to the Indus Valley civilization, and even though, it faces tough competition from the poly-mix fibre today, the fabric has withheld a place of its own. - Breakfast – Don’t miss!
by Akash Khatri Breakfast – Don’t miss! 7 July 2022 FOOD Advertisement Advertisement My most favourite meal of the day – BREAKFAST! The first thing out of bed. The fun part: it can include anything, be it fresh orange juice, hot waffles, drooly pancakes with maple syrup, a bowl of cereal with fresh milk, oats garnished with pretty dry fruit, tasty French toast, a warm croissant, crispy bacon, PopTarts, fruits, berries, a slice of perfectly toasted bread, eggs in any form and not forgetting freshly brewed coffee. It sets the mood good for a day. People often skip breakfast in a rush to reach in time, to spend some more time in bed, because they are too tired to bother, they don’t feel hungry, they are bored of the same breakfast every day, or some other excuse, but it’s wrong. It is called the “most important meal of the day” for a reason. Research links eating breakfast to good health. It helps you kick start your metabolism as it is the first meal after you wake up thereby also helping you to burn calories throughout the day. It provides you with the fuel required to get you going through the day and avoids you to binge eat as it controls your appetite. Science has proved that a good breakfast is directly proportional to a better memory. This ‘first meal’ also lowers bad cholesterol levels in our body and prevents a number of other diseases such as diabetes, obesity, etc. A US study that analyzed the health data of 50,000 people over seven years, concluded that those who made breakfast the largest meal of the day had a lower body mass index (BMI) than those who ate a large lunch or dinner. Moreover, it breaks the overnight fasting cycle by replenishing the body with glucose. A healthy breakfast also contains all nutrients such as calcium, iron and B vitamins as well as protein and fibre which are very important for our body. Running late? Don’t worry, we’ll help: Prepare a week’s breakfast over the weekend or the night before such as overnight oats, fruit jars or healthy muffins. A pre-prepared breakfast saves you ample of time in the morning and can be picked up on the way to your destination. Try setting your alarm 10-15 minutes prior to your usual time so that you don’t skip breakfast. Figure out what you want to eat for breakfast the night before and set out dry ingredients or pans and bowls you would require so that you save time in the morning. Stock your cupboard with go-to breakfast foods like protein bars, low sugar cereals, smoothies, etc. Keep some breakfast foods in your car or workplace or handbag. According to nutritionists, one should eat breakfast within two hours of waking and it should be in the range of 25-35% of your guideline daily allowance, also known as GDA. A few quick breakfast ideas: Ø Avocado toast with eggs Top a slice of brown or multigrain bread with smashed avocado and a sunny-side-up/fried/baked egg or two sprinkled with some salt and pepper for taste. - Why does Fashion Need Fashion Shows
Why does Fashion Need Fashion Shows by Priti Sharma Why does Fashion Need Fashion Shows 12 December 2022 FASHION Advertisement Similar to art, fashion shows and editorials are meant to elicit discussion. I may not always agree with the idea because it is frequently absurd and outrageous! The objective is to adapt one style element to your own style. The suit is not intended to be worn from head to toe. Fashion shows are crucial since they present the newest trends for the season. They serve as a moving gallery and a style icon for quick clothes retailers who copy high fashion. Instead, a fashion show is an opportunity for a designer to showcase a specific aesthetic, mood, feel or point of view. As a result, fashion shows can tend to be more conceptual and focused on a higher level idea. Designers can display their creative ideas for garments during fashion shows. Future modifications to what individuals wear may result from this. Since they have been included in fashion shows for a number of years, men wearing skirts are now considered acceptable attire. Fashion shows are hugely significant in the worlds of fashion and modeling. Their acceptance has grown quickly, making them one of the major fashion events. The most important aspect of many fashion designers' careers is participating in fashion shows. But what's even more crucial for these exhibitions is that fashion designers can showcase their work and skill. They can develop cooperative partnerships and entice as many clients or business partners as they can this way. Pret-a-Porter & Haute Couture — At a fashion show, models walk the catwalk to display a designer's newest collections. Fashions from pret-a-porter and haute couture are distinguished from one another. Haute couture literally translates as high-end tailoring and has French origins. Haute couture is a term used to describe lavish, distinctive, and high-quality fashion designs. The opulent sets, which feature choreography in the Busby Berkeley style set in magical woods and space-age discos, are as lavish as the outfits, which are adorned with Swarovski crystals and pearls. The twice-yearly couture presentations, which are presently being held in Paris, are unquestionable quite the spectacle. The costs are equally astounding as the dresses: a made-to-measure ballgown may easily cost as much as a Rolls-Royce, while a blouse would cost as much as a Madrid flat. Which begs the question: what is the point of couture if relatively few people would spend six figures on a dress? Similar to how automakers flaunt their technological prowess by building supercars, fashion designers utilize couture as a demonstration of their power and technical prowess. The Chambre de Commerce & d'Industrie de Paris carefully regulate entry to the calendar; in order to become a couture designer, fashion businesses must adhere to severe criteria, including having a Paris-based studio with more than 20 employees. The most absurd ideas from a designer are displayed in couture, where there are no financial restrictions on aspiration. Additionally, it displays financial strength. For instance, Versace nearly went out of business during the early 2000s recession and discontinued presenting couture for eight years. When it returned to schedule, in 2012, the brand was perceived as being back in rude health. In short, couture designers are the creme de la creme; fashion’s richest, most accomplished top dogs. Mid-century France was where haute couture first appeared. Charles Frederick Worth, the so-called founding father, was the first to sell custom-made, high-end clothing manufactured to his own designs. Up until that point, made-to-measure clothes has only ever been created with the customer's preferences in mind. The fashion business saw a transformation because to Worth. The Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture Parisienne then came together; this group still governs haute couture and today refers to itself as a fashion association. The designer may only showcase his haute couture line under this genre at the couture presentations of the Fashion Weeks if this committee approves the collection of his designer label. The point of couture is clear: it’s all about glory, pizzazz, and the bottom line. #FashionShow #Fashion #Couture #Glamour #Models #Designers #FashionWeek SEARCH The Rich Heritage of Indian Handloom FASHION Fashion In The 19th Century FASHION Colour Psychology in Fashion: Explained FASHION The Influence Of Kanye West On Fashion FASHION K-Pop Fashion And Its Impact On Global Wardrobe FASHION POPULAR POSTS Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement By Shriniwas Kodape AiSPi Wanderlust Diaries: Marzook, L’Afshar, And A Fashion Bender In Mumbai 25 April 2025 FASHION By Anushka Uniyal Kiyaan Silver: Timeless Jewellery For Every Woman 27 March 2025 FASHION By Sakshi Batra The Shoe Faktory Success Story: Ishpreet Singh Gujral’s Bold Business Leap 27 March 2025 FASHION By Sakshi Batra From Reality TV To Real Success: Nibedita Paal’s Inspiring Story 27 March 2025 FASHION RELATED POSTS
