Fashion and age You will see a 15-year old dressed in the fashion of a 50-year old one day and come across a 40-something woman dressed as a k-pop idol in her 20s. Well, it completely depends on the mental or chosen age of the person that how they want to present themselves through their fashion. Many teenagers love wearing sneakers and accessories while a lot of them prefer to adorn baggy jeans with loose T-shirts. In a social event, no two people of the same age will dress the same. Woman A would come in a little black dress while woman B would wear a shimmer top with boyfriend jeans. Fashion and gender The identity surrounding men and women's fashion is another way fashion shapes and represents us. For example, skirts are for women and pants for men. Make-up is only for women while men cannot wear mascara even if they want! The fashion where women must cover their skins with long skirts and full tops reflects the value of not just an individual buy an entire culture. Within a few years, Kian achieved heights that most models dream of. He was named IMTA’s “Model of the Year” and won some of the most significant modelling partnerships in the world. He aims to be the Ultimate Super-model and is motivated by the fear of being average. “All my life, I have dared to go beyond the possible,” he said. Kian wishes to blur the boundaries between the impossible and what is possible and has coined the term #possimpossible . Kian’s favourite collaboration was with Fashion Magazine NYC. Being selected as the face of Fashion Magazine NYC was a Himalayan achievement for the actor/model. Being selected was a fruit of his hard work and was a massive milestone in his career. Having worked with many high-profile luxury brands, Kian uses various model/photographer-finding websites to gain skills and experiences. He has collaborated with multiple luxury brands such as Bentley, Vertu, Chopard, 209 Mare, Rachini, and Dolce & Gabbana, amongst many others. He was selected as the style influencer for Dolce & Gabbana. “Think of Dolce & Gabbana, and you think of sunny Sicily, small Italian villages, big Italian families and big designs,” he said. D&G is one of Kian’s favourite designers, and draws a lot of his fashion inspiration from the brand. “Part of your brand is how you present yourself, including fashion.” Kian believes that playing with shapes helps one stand out as most pants and dressed come in standard styles. Kian was scouted by one of the biggest fashion modelling agencies, Independent Management, based in Milan, Italy. Independent Management now represents him as both an agency and a mother agency. Because of his job, Kian works in both Europe and Dubai. “If I have to choose one, I will choose Europe and Milan, Italy over UAE,” he said. He chooses Milan because it is one of the top fashion cities in the world. Milan also is a significant breakthrough market for many new models, and a successful stint there has benefitted many models throughout their careers. It is “a relatively inexpensive city with a wonderful culture, amazing food, and warm people.” When asked about a fashion ritual, Kian said that he always makes sure to bring essentials. These include nude undergarments. “I believe a model appearance: skin, Hair and... always must be photoshoot ready. This means the magic happens in your daily life and lifestyle routine.” He believes consistency is the most important component while working towards your goals. It helps you adapt and form habits faster. Kian deems motivation to be a driving force towards action. “You are going to be different tomorrow. Stop feeling stuck. Her all-black outfit of the day from Brunello Cucinelli, an Italian premium label, including a nude collared shirt with one button closed and the others open. A carefree mood emanated from the rolled sleeves and side pocket. Peeking out from underneath was a neutral-toned Victoria’s Secret bralette. Later on the very same day, Kristen did make a little alteration to her appearance by wearing maroon loafers with tassels instead of heels, buttoning all but the top few buttons on her shirt, and putting her disheveled hair up in a messy updo. Anxiety is tough, not just for the people that have it but also for those who are stuck with them. It is understandably confusing at times. So, here are some things for you to remember when being with someone with anxiety. No one likes to be defined by the one fault that they have in themselves. They are more than their anxiety. If you really want to care and do something for a person suffering from anxiety then always make them realize that you appreciate the individual going through this phase and you really want to be supportive towards them. It can make them exhausted easily. It causes people to live in hypertension as they get overwhelmed and sad very quickly. Because of hypertension their mind always stays unstable and their body stays highly activated and all of this causes fatigue. If you see someone panicking then at that time they don’t want you to ask if they are fine or not because you already know the answer. The best way to help them at the time is listen to their needs and if they ask you to leave them alone, just leave them alone without forcing them to react furthermore. They don’t always express but they appreciate you sticking by them. They know you are not supposed to deal with their irrationality but you are still sticking by them. They know their reactions can be very hurtful and hard for you to digest and there can be a few things that you like to do but you are not able to do them because of them. There is one thing which affects the person with anxiety and the people around them and that is they over think situations a lot, almost everything. Results of over thinking may end in hurting the people around them. But they know your value no matter how subtle their responses are. Over thinking causes many misunderstandings between people. It can happen because of the traumatic incidents they have faced in the past. It is harder for them to let go of things as easily as people not dealing with anxiety can. Changes can be very difficult for the individuals with anxiety. Everybody has a comfort zone and getting out of it is very difficult even if it may seem normal. When they face a big change, it can take them a lot longer to settle back down and handle situations like before and deal with that zone again. You just need to be a little more patient and understanding while dealing with those suffering from anxiety. They are doing their best and are trying their best. Sometimes all it takes is a person who can listen to them carefully without any judgments or opinions as it becomes easier to communicate if they feel protected with you. They are very well known from the fact that their anxieties are irrational but it does not stop them from worrying. Sometimes due to anxiety and panic attacks a person can be very exhausted and it can be possible that they would need some time alone and you may have to understand the fact that they are not ignoring you while doing that. They sometimes just need some time for themselves, to understand and ponder upon their self-worth and what they are doing in life. Sometimes it can be possible that when you are telling them incidents very excitedly but they could not pay attention and you can’t feel their presence in that moment. It is not their fault as because of the instability of their brain they have a tougher time concentrating. It’s completely all right to be a person who suffers from anxiety. It does not define anyone. It can be a struggle at times but what matters the most is how you fight against it and how you come out at the other end. Each stitch, fabric choice, and accessory speak volumes, reflects the nuances of personality, era, and emotion. He is a master collaborator, working closely with directors, actors, and production teams to bring their collective vision to life. He has worked with a variety of Bollywood films where his costume designing ability has melded his own artistic instincts with the broader creative vision of the production. When asked about why he chose costume designing as a career, he inferred that he was always an artistic person with an eye for aesthetics and colors. He had never shown much interest in traditional studies and he was glad to have found the support of his parents since they were also pretty much inclined towards art. He further talks about what usually goes on inside his mind, revealing that insanity paves way to the creation of art. His head is usually brimming with multitudes of ideas and he finds it hard to fixate on one specific idea for a design. As a costume designer, he loves creating different looks for different characters in a variety of films and that way he is able to channel these ideas into multiple areas. Diving into the topic of fashion critiques with the question of which Indian fashion critique, in his opinion, does their job well, he takes a moment before revealing his answer. He believes that there is a lot of fashion know-how that goes behind fashion critiquing and it serves more than just the purpose of entertainment. There is more to fashion critiquing than just criticization and he is slowly learning to master it on his own. So, there is no specific fashion critique that comes to his mind yet. When asked about who his favourite fashion designer is, he immediately expresses his admiration for the international designer John Galliano. Other designers whom he really looks up to are Alexander McQueen, Manish Arora, Tarun Wendell, Abu Sandeep, Rohit Bal, Jivalaya Sabya, and Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna. He finds their individual voice and authentic, trend-setting viewpoint to be very inspiring. His personal sense of style can be described as a mix of the eccentric rock grunge, showy disco colours yet something that brags a comfortable fit. He believes he is a maximalist with a bit of ‘extra’ in all of his looks, but he further clarifies how careful and economical he is with his purchases so that his every buy can be utilised in the best way possible. Another candid question of what place has he learnt the most about fashion from, he reveals that a lot of the major learnings of his career has come from people more than the place itself. They have taught him more than just the technicalities of fashion and one of the people whom he credits the most is one of his co-workers Malaika. He elaborates more on the workings of the fashion industry when a particularly insightful question about what needs to be changed I the fashion industry is asked. He majorly talked about trends, iterating that people need to stop following trends and instead, start creating them. There is an individual point of view that needs to be developed. One of the major inputs in the Indian fashion industry comes from wedding couture and a lot of designers have followed through with the same genre, limiting the Indian fashion industry to that specific genre mainly. He enunciates how he finds inspiration in people when asked the question of who or what inspires him the most. Most of his designs are for the characters on screen and hence, they also serve as the source of inspiration of him. He carefully understands the nuances of a character and works upon their wardrobe instead of creating a look that pleases his personal tastes. He further tells us about his favourite project till date which was one of the recent Bollywood films called ‘Sarvagunn Sampann’ that he has worked on. It was one of his best experiences as it gave him a lot of creative freedom and seamless support from the director and the producer of the film. There was a lot of trust involved in the process and he truly felt at home as he worked upon this exciting project. Perhaps this is what made it one of his favourite projects till date. I think most of us have, and that’s an unfortunate thing on both the sides. People of all ages are bullied, or bully someone, from a very young age to an old age, too; and at every possible place. May it be at the playground, or schools and colleges or public places, and so on. Not only peers, friends, fellow mates or strangers; sometimes even family members and relatives are responsible for bullying. Even unnoticed things such as some rude comment, or a taunt can hurt someone deeply; and this promotes bullying. Types of bullying: Physical bullying: When bullies try to hurt or torture someone physically, or even touch them without their consent. Verbal bullying: It is when a person taunts or teases the other person. Psychological bullying: When a person or group of people gossip about another person or exclude them from being part of the group, can be termed as psychological bullying. Cyber bullying: When bullies insult, hurt, spread rumours about or harass someone on social media. They make embarrassing and degrading (sometimes very inappropriate) comments, even on public forums, where others can see them; and hurt the person. Bullies also share the person’s personal information, pictures or videos to spoil someone’s public image. Sometimes, we say or do things that we think are just for fun; but it might be affecting the other person. And if they ask you to stop, do not continue doing it. And if you notice someone bullying or being bullied, call it out. Bullies haven’t always been the same. Some things in their life made them do it once or maybe twice; but they resorted to it. Sometimes, the ones who are bullied turn into bullies. Calling out will bring the bullies forward and preventing bullying will not only save people from being bullied, but can also help prevent more people turning into bullies.
